European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Messi, Ronaldo & Ribery For UEFA Best Player Award 2012/2013 by soloheater(m): 7:48am On Aug 14, 2013
dmcdad:
Far from it... the result is not given to the highest scorer but the player with the best individual performance. You guys fail to realise this is an individual award and not a team award.

I agree Ribery did well last season, but frankly the success of Bayern depended upon team work rather than individual performances.

Messi for instance single-handedly won Barca La-Liga with a record 100 points. Imagine playing 32 games in the league and scoring 46 goals in the process. Would you say he was outshined by Ribery just because Bayern won a treble? Even when you know it was more of a collective efforr rather than individual brilliance?

C'mon! Let's be realistic at least for once...

oooh you now talking like a realistic person...so because messi scored 46 goals last season, it now automatically gives him the award..be sincere and tell me you are a barca fan...listen UEFA is corrupt and for that reason they will do their normal trick..am not against that messi isn't one of the greatest players.

Another trick by UEFA, removing robben who has got some share of fans and replacing him with ribery whose got a lower fan base..since uefa gives the award by goals scored then its either messi or cr7, ribery will just answer third place.

Webmasters / How To Align Two Ads In The Same Line/row by soloheater(m): 12:04pm On Jul 20, 2013
http:///zricI

I decide to write on this topic because of the experience i had back then, when i was learning HTML/CSS and trying to put up some Google Ads and other codes on my WordPress site.

There were problems i have with HTML and CSS then, i’m used to cramming the whole pages and tried putting it up just as it is shown but it doesn’t work like that. Although when i learnt these things very well i could not neatly add the double ads on the same Line/Row my website.

Setting up Ads on a website isn’t that easy and you need to at least know a little about the Html/CSS to be able to do it without much stress. Apart from the widgets on your admin panel where you can copy and paste your code.

It is easier to put a single Ads (250×250) on your blog or website than the double Ads (250×250, 250×250) staying on the same row, but i will give a code for that.

How to Add:
Just paste the below code on your template where you want this widget to appear.

<table width=”520″ cellspacing=”0″ cellpadding=”0″ border=”0″>
<tr>
<td width=”250″ style=”padding: 5px;” align=”center”>

ADSENSE CODE 1

</td>
<td width=”250″ style=”padding: 5px;” align=”left”>

ADSENSE CODE 2

</td>
</tr>
</table>

Just copy this code and add on your template/theme, then on that place i wrote CODE 1 replace with your own code and you are good to go, remember you can widen or narrow the table size. it all depends on the size of code you want to add on your website.. Goodluck

Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins has bought himself out of his contract with Levante, the La Liga club said on Monday, amid reports he is set to join MLS side, the Seattle Sounders.

“This afternoon, Martins has deposited with the Spanish football league the amount stipulated in the buy-out clause in his contract with Levante,” the club said in a statement.

Spanish media reported the figure to be 3 million euros ($3.9 million).

Reuters reports that the former Inter Milan and Newcastle player, 28, joined Levante at the start of the season on a free transfer from Russia’s Rubin Kazan, and is their top scorer in La Liga with seven goals.

Sports / Rooney For Sale For $52.5 Million - Sir Alex Ferguson by soloheater(m): 1:23pm On Mar 07, 2013
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is preparing to sell striker Wayne Rooney for 35 million pounds ($52.5 million) at the end of the season, the Daily Mirror said.

The coach this week left 27-year-old Rooney out of the starting lineup for the Champions League match against Real Madrid that the English team lost 2-1, leaving the player furious, the newspaper added. Ferguson is unhappy at Rooney’s level of fitness, the Mirror said.
The team is willing to listen to offers, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain interested, the newspaper said. Rooney’s contract has two years remaining.

The Guardian said Rooney’s reputed 300,000 pound-a-week salary is too expensive for City, which tried to sign him in 2010. AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan would struggle to pay his wages, and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona may not see Rooney fitting into their squads, the newspaper said.

Sports / List Of Highest Paid Nigerian Footballers Abroad by soloheater(m): 10:52am On Feb 22, 2013
http://naija2day.com/2013/02/list-of-top10-paid-nigerian-footballers-abroad-in-2012/

The fortunes of Nigeria’s footballers in variousfootball leagues across the world may be dwindling as very few are able to land lucrative deals at prestigious clubs unlike their counterparts from South America and some African countries like Ghana, Ivory Coast (where Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba pull in enviable amounts as wages).

1. YAKUBU AIYEGBENI

Age: 30
Club: Guangzhou R&F
Wage: £5.04 million

Yakubu, after proving himself for several seasons in the English Premier League the Yak made a big money move to China’s Guangzhou R&F where is reported to pull in nearly £100,000 weekly. In fact his annual take home at the Chinese club is placed at £5,040,000.

2. JOHN OBI MIKEL

Age: 25
Club: Chelsea FC
Annual Wage: £4.16 million

Mikel Obi the Chelsea midfielder was previously on a £2,600,000 (£50,000 per week) but recently signed a new five year contract with the European champions worth £4,160,000 annually. His hefty pay packet however suffers some substantial tax under the United Kingdom tax rules. Mikel also got a hefty bonus as part of the 2012 Champions League winning squad that lifted the trophy at the Alliance Arena, Munich in May 2012.

3. TAYE TAIWO

Age: 27
Club: AC Milan
Wage: £3.36 million

The left back moved from Olympic Marseille to Milan FC in a 3 year lucrative move worth £3,360,000 per year. Though he has yet to break into the Milan team and has been shipped on loan so far to Queens Park Rangers and currently to FC Dynamo Kyiv Taye may not mind too much as he earns a princely sum and will not be due to renew his current contract until 2014.

4. JOHN UTAKA

Age: 31
Club: Montpellier
Wage: £2.08 million

After angry rumours that the former Eagles winger took home £80,000 a week at Portsmouth (at a time the club was in dire financial straits) the player had insisted he only earned about £30,000 at the now relegated club. Utaka joined Montpellier in 2011 in 2 and half year deal estimated at £40,000 per week.

5. PETER OSAZE ODEMWINGIE

Age: 31
Club: West Bromwich Albion
Annual Wage: £2.08 million

The West Brom Striker, who is a subject of transfer speculations linking him to Queens Park Rangers in the current January window currently is on a contract estimated at £40,000 weekly thus meaning he earns a decent £2,080,000 per year. Should his transfer to the Rangers go through he might earn as much as £70,000 per week.

6. EMMANUEL EMENIKE

Age: 25
Club: Spartak Moscow
Wage: £2.1 million

The Spartak Moscow striker, according to MTNfootball, earns £2,100,000 annual wages. The Russian club also recently, in a contract extension till 2016, included a 42 million euros buyout clause. His wage is definitely taxed in Russia but not at the level in England.

7. JOSEPH YOBO

Age: 32
Club: Fenerbahce
Wage: £1.8 million

The Super Eagles skipper was involved in a protracted transfer between his former club Everton Fc and his new club Fenerbahce. Joseph Yobo earned £1,974,000 annually at Everton and it may appear he would have to take a slight pay cut after Fenerbahce coughed out £2.5 million to Everton FC for his transfer. The cut however may not be very significant as Yobo is reported to earn in the region of £1.8 million in wages per year in the three year deal at Fenerbahce. The plus for Yobo is that his earnings are barely taxed in Turkey unlike his colleagues in the United Kingdom who can pay up to 35% tax on income.

8. KALU UCHE

Age: 30

Club: Kasimpasa

Wage: £1.04 million plus a £630,000 transfer payout

The erstwhile Eagles midfielder got a heavy payday in 2012 when he got paid £630,000 being half of his transfer fee from Espanyol to Turkish club Kasimpasa. Kalu who had moved to Espanyol on a free from his previous Swiss club Neuchatal Xamas (Xamas had been declared bankrupt) and had an agreement with Espanyol to take 50% of any subsequent transfer fee if Espanyol were to sell. That heavy pay plus his estimated £20,000 weekly wage takes him straight into this list.
