Hi Tunlex, The skill assessment I applied for came in negative due to my B.Sc Geology from Unilorin being categorised as an Associate degree in Australia. But thankfully, I was able to come in as a dependent some months back. I'm thinking of applying for another assessment as a friend advised I apply as an Earth science technician rather than a Geophysicist since the criteria for that is an Associate degree. Can you please advice if this option is viable and if I can get a PR for that. P.S: My wife is now studying B.Sc Nursing in an NSW regional area. Thanks a lot for all you do. tunlex01: It's a dicey situation. If you arrive here as a dependent, you will no longer be referred to as offshore and most states are the moment are only offering nominations to graduates from their universities. If you are not a graduate, there could be some other pathways.
ANother option is you may be lucky to get a job and/or a company willing to sponsor you and your spouse. The location(state) of your spouse's university and also course of study can also determine your chance. Sincerely, your chance at PR looks good due to your occupation. |

Lol...why the "Ahhhh"? Well, shes changing courses to nursing and has already gotten an admission for July. Okay, will explore those options also. Thanks soo much for your support once again. tunlex01: I think so. Other pathway is DAMA or job sponsorship. Ahhhh...TESOL in an English speaking country? 189? Invitation for 189 has been super scarce. Don't rely on it. You should be aimming for 190 and 491 |

Thanks sooo much for your feedback, appreciate. Meaning I stand a better chance as an offshore applicant since I didn't graduate from their schools. And please what are the other pathways? She's studying "Applied linguistics & TESOL(Teaching English to non English speakers)" in Sydney. And lastly, I'm yet to get my Vetassess assessment but will it be advisable to apply for a 189 visa after a positive assessment? Thanks for your efforts. tunlex01: It's a dicey situation. Hi all, Please I just joined this thread and will like to get some answers. I'm 36, married with no kids and my wife is already in Australia for her masters while I'm in Nigeria. I applied for a Vetassess assessment (Geophysicist). Apart from her invitation as a dependent, would like to know my PR chances.
