Tolexander: Maybe cos their tenures were before the ratification of the constitution by the required 9 states outta 13.NO, their tenures were after the formal ratification of the 13 state. Remember the complete ratification by all 13 state was completed on feb 2nd 1781. |

History told us that George Washington is the first united states President. But before Washington became the president of united states, seven other presidents were elected between 1781-1788. Why don't we ever hear about these seven presidents? The first president was John Hanson(1781-1782). Six other presidents were elected after him, all prior to George Washington tenure as president. Now, the question, why don't we ever hear about the first seven presidents of the united state, and why George Washington was recognized as the first president? |
