PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:44pm On Apr 19, 2018
paix:
How can the youths be productive when all the political positions are held by old cargoes? Why can't the youths be lazy in a country where they can't secure loans to start off a petite business? Why can't the youths be lazy in a country where employment is based on the connection you have and not eligibility? Why can't the youths be lazy in a country where everything is based on ethnicism, nepotism, religion and sectionalism. The youths should know that the time for real change is NOW.
Did the old cargoes get there by themselves? the youth brought them there!

As the most populous black nation on earth, where are we on the innovation and creativity ladder?
LaudGuy:
Don't come here and ask stupid question oga, if you no get work go and sleep or better yet jump into river.

If you don't already know the answer to your question..then I'm sorry for you truly.

Nigeria youths are the most creative, innovative and hard working set of individuals in the entire universe.

Especially those who claimed to have gone to school but can hardly read to comprehend an article before responding to it.
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:35pm On Apr 19, 2018
whatever the governments both past and present have done were allowed by the youth who form the major parts of the population. the youth should take responsibility and take back the country by carefully selecting those with track records among them to lead. i am not talking bout noise makers, i am talking about those who started things on their own with no corrupt background and see if this country won't move forward.

Man2utd:
As much as I want to agree with you on the points stated above, the government also has a major role to play, I have always stated this point and I will state it once again, how many of our roads and bridges are constructed by Nigerians, and we graduate thousands of civil engineers every year. Buhari himself was sick and went to seek for medical help abroad, that's because he doesn't trust the Nigerian doctors. The issue of research, a sensible government will give research grant, to encourage people to engage in research or how do you expect a hungry person to think.
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:32pm On Apr 19, 2018
Let the youths in each states form pressure groups and have candidates elected from the groups, then make it a national movement, from there get into positions of power. the old men won't do this for the youth. problem is, most of the youths in Nigeria grew up with a wack mindset so i doubt if they can actually do anything different from the old men/women around.

A society where money is the ultimate value, corruption and desperation wont allow the "just" among the youth get to the top.

Sheuns:
You made a few points sir, but everyone cannot become programmers, I'm into programming even though I didn't study computer science in school, not because I didn't want to but admission issues and pressure made me look elsewhere cos time was going, I learnt all I know in web development today through online tutorials and videos.

What I'm driving at is Nigerian Youths (majority as said by the president) aren't lazy, it's circumstances that made some of us result to vices et al.

What we need are very few highly innovative minds to help improve our current status as a country and our educational system has a major role to play in that aspect. Not everyone will be like some of us that self educate ourselves.

Quality education is very paramount to development of any nation and sadly we lack that here. The youths can do very little in reforming the education sector.
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:30pm On Apr 19, 2018
Yes, because the youth allowed this. go and check all the striving nations on earth, the youth made them so.

What can old men do without the support of young and vibrant youths? so if Nigeria is backward, check the youth, it's caused by docile youths.

Buhari is few years to his grace and have little or nothing to gain on earth again, he's saying things the way they are, if you like, don't stand up and have things changed for the best.

chinwey:
A hopeless statement. Nothing works in Nigeria. Is that also the fault of the Youth. When graduates will come out no job, no light, no health care system, nothing virtually works in Nigeria. Why wont the stupid man say so. What has he put in place for the Youth. Youth will struggle and struggle and die as a Youth, while the fools of 70s keep holding positions of authority tight. So tell me the avenue for the Youth to work and exhibit their potentials. Why do the Nigerian Youths succeed and shine immediately they step out of the shore of this country. Stupid statement from a hopeless entity.

This fools keeps disgracing Nigerians at any slighted opportunity he has. His son that crashed with almost 5million naira power bike, where is he working and how much is his salary per month, if actually he is engaged in any meaningful work. Lazy fools.
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:21pm On Apr 19, 2018
Its actually in harsh environments our creative ability is put to test, most of what we enjoy on earth now came in the era of nothing, and alot of innovations came from the era of wars. creativity hardly strive in comfort.
pauljumbo:
The system makes the youth look lazy no normal human can thrive in hostile environment like we have in Nigeria.

Despite the harsh environment young Nigerians are everywhere hustling from selling pure water and the rest.

Even those that goes in to crime do you think crime is for lazy people?

The president makes big blunder no sane president puts his people Down in public
PoliticsRe: Are Nigerian Youths Actually Lazy? by somehow: 3:18pm On Apr 19, 2018
That's the problem, the lack of creativity, why should a masters degree holder, MSC holder be doing security job when he was sent to school to be creative and create things in his or her environment? Oh no, it's the govt!.

Why end up doing what doesn't require formal education after spending 10-12 years in school? what then did the school do to your intellectual growth? oh no, it's the govt.

An educated person is the one who does things different from the way uneducated ones do.

Omooba77:
God bless you sir, many youth with M.Sc are doing security jobs, drivers and so on; just not to be involved in crimes and yet one old man will tell us, we are lazy.

Match day? You have to be at the training pitch first before you are allowed to even feature on match days.

Didn't ask him to invite all players but those showing signs of positive addition to the team.
Icon4s:
Firstly, the best place a player can show what he can do is on match day and not training ground. That is when they get to deal with the real situation

Secondly Rohr cannot invite every player.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by somehow: 4:21am On Apr 19, 2018
You might be right in the long run. Not expecting them all to make the 23 man list but at least be given fair chance to show they are also capable.
Danielnino00:
Unfortunately, not all of them will b called up... I have this bad feeling that even Onyekuru may be left out of the 23 man list and Joel Obi might be the reason for that....

Why I say so is because Rohr already knows 90% of the players he will b taking to Russia.. I don't think there is enough time left to experiment for new players...
Its quite certain that we will b taking 8 defenders to Russia.. that will leave 12 spots for the midfield and attack.. in midfield the following players are very much assured of a place on the plane: Mikel,Ndidi,Onazi,Etebo,Ogu... If Rohr decides to add Joel that will make it 6 MF and 6 attackers... the 6 attackers are likely to be Moses, Iwobi, Simeon, Musa,Nacho and Ighalo... No space for Henry...

If Henry or any other attacker will b added to the list, then one of Etebo,Ogu and Joel will b dropped....

Just my thoughts....

You're seeing 6 and I am seeing 9, it depends on our realities.
Mujtahida:
Which kind physical fight is for the weak? Then intellectual fight is for the strong? Fight na fight and ain't no sign of weakness per se. It depends on the context. When I give birth to a son, I'd never tell not to fight physically. I'd tell him fight! Where the situation demands for it. So when he's hit he should just be forming cool. Naaa. That's weakness and cowardice pretending and seeking to pass off as refinement and gentkemanliness.

Read the lyrics of Kenny Rogers 'COWARD OF THE COUNTY '

Ev'ryone considered him the coward of the county.
He'd never stood one single time to prove the county wrong.
His mama named him Tommy, the folks just called him yellow,
But something always told me they were reading Tommy wrong.

He was only ten years old when his daddy died in prison.
I looked after Tommy 'cause he was my brother's son.
I still recall the final words my brother said to Tommy:
"Son, my life is over, but yours is just begun.

Promise me, son, not to do the things I've done.
Walk away from trouble if you can.
Now it won't mean you're weak if you turn the other cheek.
I hope you're old enough to understand:
Son, you don't have to fight to be a man
. "

There's someone for ev'ryone and Tommy's love was Becky.
In her arms he didn't have to prove he was a man.
One day while he was workin' the Gatlin boys came callin'.
They took turns at Becky.... N' there was three of them!

Tommy opened up the door and saw his Becky cryin'.
The torn dress, the shattered look was more than he could stand.
He reached above the fireplace and took down his daddy's picture.
As his tears fell on his daddy's face, He heard these words again:

"Promise me, son, not to do the things I've done.
Walk away from trouble if you can.
Now it won't mean you're weak if you turn the other cheek.
I hope you're old enough to understand:
Son, you don't have to fight to be a man. "

The Gatlin boys just laughed at him when he walked into the barroom.
One of them got up and met him halfway 'cross the floor.
When Tommy turned around they said, "Hey look! ol' yellow's leavin'."
But you coulda heard a pin drop when Tommy stopped and locked
The door.

Twenty years of crawlin' was bottled up inside him.
He wasn't holdin' nothin' back; he let 'em have it all.
When Tommy left the barroom not a Gatlin boy was standin'.
He said, "This one's for Becky," as he watched the last one fall.
And I heard him say,

"I promised you, Dad, not to do the things you done.
I've walked away from trouble when I can.
Now please don't think I'm weak, I didn't turn the other cheek,
And Papa, I sure hope you understand:
Sometimes you gotta fight when you're a man.
"

Ev'ryone considered him the coward of the county.

I made mention of bayelsa United so that you will know that winning the league doesn't make you a superpower in the league. Plateau doesn't have such history. Thank God you listed clubs with structures and history, if it were any of the aforementioned that lost the way plateau and MFM lost, then we would say they truly disappointed.
BascoVanVeli:
Bros that one be NPFL trivia. E be like what NPFL club has won the league and gotten relegated? That does not happen every year. We all know that for some clubs it depends on the government in power at the time but we have clubs like Kano and Enyimba who are well structured. Plateau is not on that level but I see them competing this season in the league and not fighting relegation.

Bayelsa United was once league champions too and the next season, they ended up relegated and since then went into Oblivion. Winning the league in Nigeria doesn't make you the best in the league when it comes to reality, it's a painful thing for me to say as a lover of the league but that's the truth.

In that case, I use discretion to decide who gets it. Physical violence is out of it but some exceptions arise and whoever started it gets the scolding. Everyone should know their place and give respect accordingly.

You said a physical fight, my younger daughter wouldn't engage in a physical fight with her elder brother in the first place because they already know physical violence is strictly for the weak (mentally, emotionally and intellectually).

Same with mental/emotional violence. The art of solving issues diplomatically is what is being passed on so far.

We handle situations differently and this has yeilded solid results.
Icon4s:
It is not about who is better.

If your daughter and son are engaged in a physical fight and you know your son is stronger physically who will you protect first.

When undeserving clubs win the league via bribing and corruption to the extent of trying to bribe a foreign ref in an international competition, they end up disgracing the league outside the country.

Mozambique have replaced Nigeria in the ranking as nations that will provide 2 teams each in the 2019 CAFCL and CAFCC.

Teams with 2 teams next year:
1. Tunisia
2. Egypt
3. DR Congo
4. Morocco
5. Algeria
6. South Africa
7. Sudan
8. Zambia
9. Libya
10. Cameroon
10. Ivory Coast
10. Mozambique

Nigeria is currently joint 13th with Ethiopia.

We are back to 2002........

I think we need to sell all government clubs at a very low price or even turn all Nigerian clubs owned by the govt to a community club, meaning those within the city should buy into the clubs. Paying weekly or monthly dues to run the club.

I'm just tired.
