As students in Senior Secondary School class three resume in Lagos on Monday, the Office of Education Quality Assurance has issued guidelines for re-opening of schools and urged owners to adhere to the guidelines, as reopening and assessment of schools will be simultaneously done.

The Director-General, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, stated this while briefing newsmen in Ikeja, Lagos.

Seriki-Ayeni, who emphasized that school re-opening is centred on Senior Secondary School 3 students alone and not students in other classes, added that the released guidelines were in line with the Federal Government’s stance on the matter.

She, therefore, advised all private school owners, whether approved or unapproved, to study the released guidelines and develop a template for their re-opening plans.

Worship centres in Lagos State are set to resume activities.

The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced the reopening of worship centres in the state from August 7 at 50% capacity.

The restaurants in the state are to operate eat-in services from August 14 while schools for exit classes are to resume on Monday, August 3, 2020.

This disclosure was made by Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, August 1, 2020, during a press briefing on COVID-19, at the State House, Marina Lagos.

The Governor said that while the mosques are expected to reopen on August 7, next week Friday, churches will also follow suit on Sunday, August 9.

One obvious starting place would be to order Apple and Google to remove the app from their online stores.

This might be done by adding TikTok's owner Bytedance to a Commerce Department entity list, and forbidding US firms from working with it - a similar tactic was used to stop Google providing its apps to Huawei.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi says Nigerian government has the capability to pay back loans collected for the construction of rail projects within the stipulated period of 20 years.

The Guild of Medical Directors, a body of owners of private hospitals in Nigeria, has reacted to video claims by Dr. Stella Immanuel, a General Practitioner in the U.S. that she has treated over 350 patients of COVID-19 with a combination of Hydrochloroquine, Zinc and Zithromax, saying it is her own personal, unsubstantiated claim.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension of phase two of the ease of lockdown in the country by one week.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, announced this at the briefing of the PTF which held in Abuja, on Monday.

Ex-militant leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has commented on the probe into the activities of the interim management committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The fraud case against Olalekan Ponle, also known as Woodberry, a close associate of Ramon Abbas (Hushpuppi), has been dismissed.

The 29-year-old, who was facing charges bordering on wire fraud conspiracy at a United States District Court in Illinois, was arrested alongside Hushpuppi in the United Arab Emirates on June 10.

They were arrested for multiple fraud charges after a raid by operatives of the Dubai crime unit.

The duo were extradited to the U.S. on July 2.
