I just hope all these rumours-uncomfirmed or confirmed does not have a side effect on our resumption. If it does, I think we should be aware of it, so we know what next step to take.

Because I don't understand anything again. It now seems that looking away from this job is even a safer bet. I don't just know.

God help us sha. I wish we can get an update before the year end.

I think @Opzyyy was trying to allay fears instigated by Oga @goldimx who suggested the first batch were the favoured extra smart guys that dusted the rest of us at AC, making the awaiting batch expendable. I feel @Opzyyy just wanted to point out that people in the first batch are humans afterall, he might have exaggerated a little bit, but I'm sure he made some people feel better about themselves.

I think what @goldimx said is the fact. What other criterion have you ever thought was used to select the first batch GT? Guess it was purely on performance. So, you guys should cut him some slacks. I was selected among the first batch also, and I knew within my performance was top notch. However, unfortunately for me, I could not resume then. So, I had to defer to the next batch.

The fact is, the wait is rather frustrating even for me, considering the fact that I should have resumed since. But what else do we do, rather than to wait? Find an engagement. Get something doing so we can be busy in order to maintain sanity as one of our colleagues outrightly pointed out. All these delays would pass with time.

It’s frustrating and mentally exhausting to have to wait this long before we resume because I had even done my medicals and documentation with the first batch but I had to reschedule for some personal reasons.

It seems to be that a delayed approval from the board is what is causing the wait. The truth is there is nothing we can do right now but hope, try to find something to be busy with (for your own sanity) and stay positive.

I am on the same shoe with you. I had done medicals and documentation too, but had to reschedule, as it was the only option to me then.

Like you rightly said, to 'maintain sanity' we have to get busy, if not, it is mentally frustrating and exhausting. The wait isn't the problem. The problem is lack of detailed or proper update(s). I wish we can be told when we would likely resume. It would go a long way in easy apprehensions.

We have to wait still. We can't do anything other than that. That's just the honest truth. #Sad

I don't think anyone is as tired as myself because I was supposed to be among the first batch.

The response wasn't an update to say the least, but what would you have me do? I'd only keep in touch. Guess they don't really know more than that -even if they do, guess it's too confidential for them to share for now.

So, we keep waiting for relevant updates then.

Hello dear, I went through something like this a year ago but not in your position so let me share my story with you, it MAY help you connect the dots.

So fast rewind to 2013, I met my girlfriend when I was in 200L in the university. I've always been a reserved person, so when I met her, I wasn't really prepared to date anyone yet but her ingenuity attracted me. She was in 100L but then I also have this heightened, over bloated self respect that even as I am her snr by just a level, I still felt she was a child and needn't had to have anything to do with her. I was 18 then, mind you.

What drew me to date her was when I noticed my guys (not really friends) gawking at her. They all wanted to have a piece of her and I just felt I should step in and protect her kinda (yes my mind actually thought this).

I noticed she was always uneasy with me and that was a good sign, so I asked her out and she accepted. I got to find out that she was a virgin too, and before I knew it, I was so deep in love with her. We dated till I left school in 2016. I finished my service early 2018 and got a scholarship for masters in the UK so I left the country, June 2018.

For the 5 years we dated, we never had sex. We did other things of course but not sex. We made solid plans and I trusted her with my all my heart.

There was this guy amongst those my supposed guys that was never happy for me and my babe. He had wanted to ask her out before I blocked him, he would always talk about how he'd f....ck the living shit outta my GF to be, that she was voluptuous and the rest.. So when I started dating the girl, he was not happy, he pretended of course, but I could see through the ruse.

Fast forward to 2018 when I was just about to settle in the UK, I get a WhatsApp msg from this guy telling me he has something to say to me. He says he's been f...cking my babe and sent me her nude. For like 3 days, I shut down. I couldn't eat, I couldn't read, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't coordinate my head at all. I was so confused because before I left the country, i hadn't seen my GF for almost a year but we spoke every day, sometimes 3 to 4 times in a day. I knew all she was doing and where she was at every time of the day, so if it was true, then it means she was being highly smart to keep up with me and still cheat, and that was an evil machination.

I shut her out, I wasn't taking her calls anymore, I wasn't replying to her msgs anymore, I literally brought out my heart, locked it in a chest and threw away the keys on the high sea, I acted this believe me. Her sister called, her mum, her friends, my sister, everybody called me to know what's up but I never said a thing. For 6 months, I wouldn't tell anybody anything and I also felt she was being hypocritical when she knows exactly what she did.

By December 2018, I was still getting calls to explain what was the problem, by then I had already completed my morphing into Davy Jones so I opened up to my sister. I told her that the biatch was cheating on me with the least person I had expected her to. I sent my sis the picture, it was a soft nude picture (you get me) but it was still something. She too, she went mad and said she'd confront her. I told her not to bother that she was already dead to me. She still confronted her and here's the denouement..

When my sis confronted her with the evidence, she fell down and cried and rained curses on me. She swore she never sent that guy, that picture. The picture was sent to me. She even right there sourced for the guy's contact and called him and the demon said how could her BF not trust her. That he was teasing me and he said I was the one that shared the nude amongst my friends. My GF opened her WhatsApp and luckily the chat from the day she sent me the picture was still there. I couldn't see this particular chat on my phone. I still kept her WhatsApp history too. My best guess is that the day she sent me the picture, my phone was with this other guy and he took it and deleted the chat from my end.

I begged for forgiveness, I had to cry to her before she said Ok.. I couldn't call the guy cause I don't know what to tell him.

So my dear, it was a long story indeed but I'm sharing it with you so you'd ask him the direct question like "did you hear I cheated on you?", or "Did you hear I wished you bad?" People are spreading malicious rumours about other people, so ask him if he heard or he saw anything.

There's this chat going around now where a guy said he saw his GF through CCTV where she was been fondled by another guy, the guy may decide to just shut her out and she wouldn't have a clue as to why.

Also, check yourself... if you ever betrayed his trust in a seemingly contrived way thinking he'd never find out.

At the end of the day, nothing really is hidden under the sun.

Gosh! When I read till the point when he said 'the guy said he's been fucking the hell out of her' I just couldn't continue reading. I had rained series of insults on the girl already. The story at that end pissed me off so much. Am happy it actually did end well though.

Hmmmmmmmm, on seeing this, I became speechless. It is really awesome. FBN really deserves all the credits for such a human capital policy. This is really massive. FBN would really be a great place to work.

I just wish we are intimated on when we would likely resume. It would go a look way to calming nerves and instilling hope.

This information is very wrong. Its not as low as this after confirmation. It's higher.

Well, conversion program is expected to take place twice in a year but as I write you, They are yet to round up the one of January. So the system at the moment, is tensed and saturated....those for conversion that have been kept on hold from resuming TS are as grieved as you're.

However, one thing is certain, you all will be contacted in due course. Any form of agitations from you guys is like telling the wind, the direction it should blow...it makes no difference.

I thought FBN uses its Ibadan training center for conversion staff and other staff trainings.

But I thought conversion staff already did their training before this first batch trainees?

Hello All!

It's very clear that the process is still ongoing from the attachment above. However, the response is still rather disturbing as the date to onboard the next set of graduate trainees is not even certain. It can be now, it can be later, it can be anytime. It can still be the rumoured 'next year '.

So, I guess, the best thing is to eliminate the thoughts of when we would resume and focus our minds on other endeavours, cause what will be, will be. It's the Nigerian factor that's coming into play here.

When FBN are ready for us, they would revert, just like they said. At this juncture, I rest my case and move my focus to other endeavours.

There's nothing to be sceptical about. It just a polite request for an update. It would help our planning for the future to a great extent.

Yeah, I was, but I deferred to the next batch due to some engagements beyond my control then.

After thinking about this whole issue critically, i realised the mails raised our expectation higher than it should av been (unless they are running behind schedule).

Me, I don't even understand again. Every passing day, I keep refreshing my mail and checking for any slight detail on Nairaland. I think we sending an email to any of the HCMD staff or putting a call through in a bid to ascertain the details of the next batch training school would lower or raise expectations.

I wish First Bank just sends us an email soon, even if its to tell us training school would resume later this year or early next year. Whichever time frame it is, it would be better we are certain of a specified period. The level of uncertainty is disturbing, even though hopes are still alive.

This is a new week, it's a week to start a different you. A week to move above setbacks, hurdles and challenges and stroll to that desired destination.

While we await our D/M mail, and subsequently, Training School Mail, I pray the Good Lord keeps us healthy, sound and safe during this period of waiting.

The due course is closer than ever expected. Although, I just have a feeling that D/M mail may come in later this month, whereas Training School may likely start early November. Am not certain about this though. It's just a speculation from my own ends.

Had a discussion with one the reliable sources you can think of. The atmosphere isn't friendly at all.

In his words "We are not sure at this point. People are still in training school. It can come later this year or early next year".

Since then, I have just been refreshing mail, checking Nairaland and trying to keep mydelf busy and progressing.

First batch rounds up evrytn officially by Oct. 9 (Wednesday) which means the earliest we can resume TS is Oct 14 (Monday).

My assumed least number of days btwn D&M and TS resumption is 2 weeks meaning D&M wil likely b btwn Sept 26 - Oct 3 which also means D&M mail shld com in btwn Sept 20 - Sept 25.

So lets chill till Sept ending b4 we strt getting ds worried. Calling the phone numbers to get som answers wil make sense by that time too

We all just have to chill, it was stated clearly that the on-boarding programme is still in progress. If it's not, we would have been told. And like we all know, Training School is most times in batches, even other top banks do theirs in batches.

So, I see no reason we should all be too worried. We should only hope we resume training school next month, or this year to say the least.

We all keep the wait one. That's the only logical thing to do for now.

Also, that some got into TS previously by November doesn't mean we'd have a repeat of the same this year, I'm not sure that circle exists.



Lastly, the reassurance mail we got didn't in any way suggest we'd be getting into TS this year o. No particular timeframe or date was attached.

I don't think you guys will be resuming TS this year. Our process officially ends Oct 9th, then 2weeks rest before posting. I asked a friend that works with FirstAcademy, he said they're rounding up on all their trainings for the year.
You might get D&M mail this year but the possibility of resuming TS is quite slim.

I didn't want to say anything before but I've been in the same shoes of speculations every day that's why I'm here

Ignore this information. There's not even an iota of fact in this update. In the last recruitment, a batch went during November, so we are still going to training school this year.

Secondly, the reassurance mail would not have been sent if we have no hope of resuming training school this year.

Please, let's be sure of information we share. Misleading and misinforming people is an offence.

We keep the wait on. Training School would definitely still be this year. There's no doubt about that.

If I could get your question, you're trying to ask how will one know his documentation/medical exercise was successful?

If that's it, there's only one way to know: An invite to the training school. Whereas, the parameters to adjudge a successful documentation/medicals, I can't say; the recruiters alone know that.

Well, just to point out something. The Documentation mail isn't different from the medicals mail. The are done together on the scheduled date. After the Documentation exercise which cannot take up to 20minutes, the medical comes immediately, as a forms addressed to a designated hospital will be issued out almost immediately.

Hence, the next mail you are all expecting is Documentation/Medical mail.

The questions are limited to the materials provided. Besides, some courses require you to choose between questions (Answer 3 out of 4 or answer 2 out of 3).

Just keep calm, bro. There's definitely a second batch. I was supposed to join this batch, I kindly requested to be moved to the next batch for some crucial reasons, and it was approved.

there will be another batch just keep calm. first bank has nothing to lose sending you a regret mail or no mail at all. they just sent a mail that you will definitely be contacted soon.

I believe they still have corporate integrity to uphold. if there is no such batch, they won't have sent the second mail.
