Hi sHarmony, Please note that AVITS is a relatively new platform, still establishing its domain credibility. Consequently, I recommend checking your spam folder for the verification mail, as most automated emails initially land there. To resolve this, manually mark their domain address as 'Not Spam'. Cheers 🥂 sHarmony: |
Declaring a US-based sponsor can potentially impact your application. To consider this option, first verify the sponsor's status: 1. Is the sponsor a legal resident? 2. How did they obtain residency/naturalization? Once confirmed, weigh the possible effects on your application: Pros 1. A US bank statement can enhance credibility regarding your financial preparedness for the academic program. Cons 1. It strengthens ties to the US, increasing the likelihood of staying in the country after graduation. These points should provide clarity and I hope they guide your decision aright. oducheebuka: |
That's a major pillar of credibility for WES evaluations. Yes, it's necessary! Timeofgod: |
Hi YulPapparrazi, Study permit applications are generally processed based on merit, complexity, and the processing timeline at the time of submission. Therefore, prioritization of fresh or returning applications over one another is rarely evident with IRCC. Each application has its own merits. So, proceed with your submission while staying updated on the current turnaround time. In the event that a decision is not reached within the stipulated period, you can contact them via webform. Cheers to your coming approval! 🥂 YulPapparrazi: |
Chally111:Hi Chally11, I empathize with you over your refusal. Moreover, I would like to know if you have a specific question or need an answer that could help you scale through your next interview successfully. I'll be expecting your response. Cheer up, it's just a delay. Your present distrust will eventually end with lots of celebrations. |
Hi Frank2zee, The World Education Services (WES) evaluation process could be overwhelming when you don't know your way around it. The truth is, the process itself is straightforward, but the back-and-forth between WES and Nigerian schools is what makes it a cumbersome experience for some students. I have broken the steps into a three-way operation to make it easier for you: On Your Part Step 1: Create an Account A. Visit (https://www.wes.org/) and create a profile. B. Fill out the forms, providing: I. Profile details II. Education history III. Recipient information Step 2: Choose Evaluation Type & Delivery Mode A. Select "Education" and then "Graduate Admission" as your evaluation type. B. Choose delivery options: I. Standard Delivery ($12) II. International Courier ($81) Step 3: Review & Confirm Application 1. Verify the accuracy of your inputs and selections. 2. Confirm your name and date of birth. 3. Agree to WES' Terms and Conditions. Step 4: Pay Evaluation Fees A. Select your evaluation option: I. Course-by-Course with ICAP ($225) - I often recommend this option for those applying to multiple schools. II. WES Basic ($176) After payment, proceed to "My Account" and upload: A. Academic transcripts (Official or Unofficial) B. Degree certificates (Official or Unofficial) C. Translations (if applicable) D. Supporting documents (if applicable) On Your Alma Mater's Part - This is where the issue always lies - unwarranted delays, extortions, inconsistent grades, you name it. But I hope you don't go through such a hurdle. Step 5: Your school should send: 1. Your official academic transcripts directly. 2. A copy of your degree certificates and translations (if applicable). 3. Enclose everything in a single sealed and stamped brown envelope before it's dispatched to WES. (They can also send your documents electronically if they have an existing digital transmission agreement with WES.) On WES' Part Step 6: WES Review & Verification 1. Document review and verification. 2. They might request for additional documents or confirmation (if necessary). Step 7: Evaluation Reports 1. WES sends the report to your mailing address and that of your proposed institutions. Key Notes Timeline: Depends on the complexity of the overall evaluation process, but it typically takes 6-12 weeks. Your total fees would depend on your choice of evaluation and delivery. I hope this helps, and best of luck with your assessment. frank2zee: |
Hi Clayfounder, I would advise you to think twice before committing your resources to such agent. The offer is unverifiable and has all shades of scam in it. Why not give your VV application another try? Regards. clayfounder: |
Hi Oducheebuka, Congratulations on your admission! While community college approval rates can be relatively low, I'd like to address your concerns. US Visa interview questions are dynamic and may cover various aspects of your application. Generally, questions do focus on: 1. Reasons for choosing the US, school, degree, and program 2. Academic and career goals 3. Financial plans in place to ensure you successfully obtain your proposed diploma. 4. Intent to return to Nigeria afterwards For a successful interview, be prepared to: 1. Demonstrate genuine interest in the program (through your knowledge of the courses and expectations from the program). 2. Link 1 with your relevant skills and experiences 3. Show eagerness P.S. There are lots of transcripts on this thread already that could be helpful. The tips I provided are mere additional guidance to boost your propensity of scaling through as a community college candidate, and I hope they help. Best of luck with your interview, and congratulations in advance! oducheebuka: |
Hi Obueze, The issue you're facing is likely due to a typing error. Double-check that you're entering the Application ID exactly as it appears on your screenshot, including uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and ensuring you're not mistaking characters like 0 for O. However, if you're certain of the accuracy of your inputs, try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser. Good luck with your application. Obueze: |
Hi Jideagboola15 I empathize with you regarding the disruption. Currently, AVIT is undergoing service upgrades and database adjustments, which have caused periodic service downtime. However, the site is now restored. You can finally proceed with booking your appointment. Wishing you good luck with your interview. Jideagboola15: |
Hi Coda1, Please accept my warmest congratulations on your admission. Regarding the issues you raised, since you've paid your complete first-year tuition, the only POF you'll need for your Year-1 tuition is the deposit receipt and payment confirmation from your school. However, you'll need to demonstrate: 1. How you plan to repay the loan 2. How you'll cover living expenses in Canada. 3. Your plan for paying subsequent COA (if your program exceeds a year) In your SOP or LOE, consider addressing: 1. How you will cover living expenses in Canada. 2. Your loan repayment plan. 3. Other financial sources supporting your education if you're not self-funded 4. Clarify any discrepancies in your financial documents. I'll implore you to take out time planning your application, and I hope it goes in your favor. Coda1: |
frank2zee:Hi Ffrank2zee, For a thorough oversight of your application, I would advise you to submit it yourself. If you have any concerns, I and other well-meaning members of this thread can address them voluntarily. I wish you the very best in your application. |
Kindyl:Congratulations, Kindyl! |

Ifeoluwaemdee:You're welcome, Ifeoluwaemdee. |
Kingking2468:Hi KingKing2468, I empathize with you regarding your brother's refusal. Would you mind sharing his decision letter with me and other well-meaning members of this thread? I'd love to help identify the reason for the refusal and offer advice if he's interested in reapplying. Regards. |
Ifeoluwaemdee: Hello Ifeoluwaemdee, In that case, you may want to consider submitting a web form inquiry through: http://secure.cic.gc.ca/ClientContact/en/Application/Form/69 Hope things turn out positively for you. |
Ifeoluwaemdee:Hi Ifeoluwaemdee, If your application is being processed by the Ottawa office, please direct your inquiry to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca. Good luck with your application! |
Blessing84:Hi Blessing84, My sincere empathy regarding the delay. There is little you can do, which would involve contacting them via either the web form or email. Webform link: http://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx Email addresses: Nairobi: 1. nrobi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca 2. nairobi@international.gc.ca 3. nrobiimdocument@international.gc.ca 4. nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca Abuja: 1. abuja-IM-Enquiry@international.gc.ca 2. abuja@international.gc.ca Lagos: 1. lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca London: 1. london-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca Wishing you good luck with your application! |
Harforlarbee:Hi Harforlarbee, Note that the University of Regina's deposit fee is $1,000 CAD, which is typically applied to tuition fees. Wishing you good luck with your admission. |
Edrick:Hi Edrick, Yes, a gift deed is an acceptable proof of funds. However, the person gifting you the money must also provide evidence of the SOF and demonstrate their financial capability to make such a gift. So, it's not just about the gift, it also involves where the gift is coming from and from whom. Wishing you good luck with your application, My Friend. |
Popson09:Hi Popson09, Registering your business shortly before submitting your application might be perceived as an effort to enhance a successful study permit application. Nonetheless, it is still a necessary step as a business owner. I recommend submitting transaction receipts, invoices, association IDs, and other documents that demonstrate your business operations predating the issuance of your CAC. This will help establish a credible record of past months/years of business activities. Wishing you good luck with your application. |
Yeezy24:Not necessarily the same timeline. In fact, even for some regular VV hopefuls, their applications received decisions within 4 weeks, and they're not on CAN+. So, no one can ascertain the duration, but your family will most likely receive a faster outcome than 6 months. As I said earlier, if you're short on time, your best bet would be emailing IRCC or raising a webform to expedite your application, as it's disrupting your schedule. In the end, it's going to be a spectacular extravaganza. |
Yeezy24:There's no cause for alarm, Yeezy24. Your case is common for family members' applications evaluated independently based on their merits and processing timelines. Please be patient; their decisions will be out soon. However, if you're running out of time, a reminder email to IRCC wouldn't hurt. Congratulations on your approval, and I wish your family good luck with their applications! |
Flakky26:Hi Flakky26, 1. Professionally, I wouldn't advise them to present expired passports at IOM, as the documents are now invalid. 2. Yes, the processing time includes weekends. 3. Weighing their circumstances, I would recommend they email IRCC for an extension, explaining their passport situation, and then proceed to IOM to do the same. This will reveal their available options. (IOM will likely conduct the examination for them.) 4. PCC requirements vary by individual circumstances, but it is mostly optional for TRVs. Therefore, it is not mandatory if they have no criminal records and haven't lived outside Nigeria for more than six months in the past ten years. 5. After their medical examination is received by IRCC, it can take some days to a few weeks before they receive their final decision. Wishing the grandparents good luck with their applications. |
fadebayo19:Hi Fadebayo19, 1. Please note that Naira card holders are currently exempt from international transactions. Therefore, you may need to use a dollar-denominated card to pay for your visa fee. 2. When submitting your SP application, you'll be required to pay a total of $235 CAD, comprising a $150 CAD study permit fee and an $85 CAD biometric fee (if you don't have a valid one). Note that these two fees are the only charges you'll incur until your application is received. Wishing you good luck with your application. |
Jackto365:All right. |
Jackto365:Hi Jackto365, My sincere sympathy. I also commend you for ordering your GCMS note, but while we are waiting for it, do you mind sharing a snippet of your decision letter? Let's know the grounds for your refusal to better assist you. Regarding your major question, the police character certificate is not mandatory. It might corroborate your amiability and compliance with the law, but it's not obligatory. Wishing you good luck as you give your application another try. |
