Health / Re: Save The Vagina Now, It Is Your Treasure by source10able: 9:08pm On Aug 20, 2018
moshino:
From the responses to this very important post, it appears that a lot of Nigerian girls are unhygienic, and sleeping with very unhygienic boys. It also appears that a lot of Nigerian men/boys are pigs, and too filthy, unhygienic to be allowed anywhere near a vagina. Why would a Nigerian male be reminded to cut their nails, bathe and wash their hands before going near a vagina, shouldn't he know that already from their teenage age. And why would a Nigerian girl be reminded to change her sanitary pad often, and even to change her underwear twice a day, shouldn't that be common knowledge from teenage age.Or are you all just pigs, sharing infections with each other? Both the males and females should spend all that money they spend on clothes, phones, fake hair, alcohol, pepper soup etc, on their personal hygiene. Stop being pigs!

I think it would be cool and I'm guessing u want to make a website or app that can do these things but the thing is most Nigerian gamers don't stream or share gameplay videos and also gaming is still seen as a thing for kids in Nigeria. But anyway if ur trying to do an app or website like that I think it'll be great and I'd definitely use it smiley

Wow. I totally agree with you guys comment. You guys show a lot of insight. Video game streaming/broadcasting is a big thing right now in North and South America, Europe and most especially in Asia. I mean, those guys are turning it into big business. Big Esports business. They even hold big events in locations where gamers compete for prize money. Most esports teams earn prize money of up to $6M. They get sponsorships from big brands like htc, Monster Energy, Corsair gaming, Audio-Technica and I can continue...

When I saw the stats on esports and video game broadcasting, my head somersaulted. It's a growing niche that is fast turning into a huge industry and most Nigerians don't know yet. All we seem to care about is blogging since Linda Ikeji made it.

Now in our generation, we can sit in front of our gaming PCs or consoles with our webcam and earn money from doing what we like to do provided we have a large audience watch our gameplay from online. I did some research and right now I'm most likely going to get a PlayStation 3 or 4 and a smile router to get into the trend. But I decided to go a different route. Mainly looking to organise esports events. It's what I've already started doing in India but something keeps telling me that 9ja is a ripe niche to start from. And I always follow my instinct.

Nabi2000, you are right. I created not a website (because I believe websites will faze out in a decade) but a Facebook page where you can stream and interact with other gamers. (Search FB for @SmashcasterTV). I have a plan for how team players can really make a fortune from the network of social media channels.

I'm organising an event on August 2 in India and it's happening purely online and I could have done the same in 9ja but the Nigerian factor comes into play. Slow internet and poor electricity. But I'm reconsidering my stance hence the topic.

If anyone is interested in working with me or maybe even finding out more about this huge trend in video game broadcasting and esports, join my FB group: Gaming Cinema. I will tell you and show you everything you need to know.

In case you don't really understand what I've been talking about, visit my facebook page @Smashcaster, but most importantly do this if you're a hardcore gamer. Visit twitch.tv (Google almost bought the company for $1B but they were dulling till amazon.com came and snatched it from right under their nose in 2014 and bought it for $970M and a Nigerian - an Ibo was part of the team that worked in twitch - he made upwards of $100M from the deal)

So yes online gaming and esports is really big.

I'm looking for guys to work with to begin to make something trendy in online gaming in Nigeria. I've got everything all mapped out so it's just a matter of 4 or 10 ambitious gamers coming together to make big things happen for the love of the game.

What's your opinion

1.) Would it be cool if there was a Nigerian gaming community where you can share short video clips of your gameplay?

2.) Would it be cool if you could also stream your gameplay (using software like OBS Studio) to the community?

3.)Would you be interested in sharing or streaming your game play, and what games would you be interested in watching other people play?

please don't reply that you cannot categorically tell me one now or that the answer will be made known by the oga @ the top. I've gotten some really weird answers in some forums, hopefully it will be different on nairaland.

I see a lot of Football Manager fanatics on nairaland perhaps it would be cool to start out with streaming Football Manager on the page. What do you think? Yup, I'll check out your youtube channel.
Health / LASUTH Asst Director Of Nursing Launches Two Books by source10able: 6:41am On Apr 27, 2017
The Assistant Director of Nursing Services, Lagos State

University Teaching Hospital, (LASUTH), Mrs. Shode

Modupe Jokotola, has launched two books:

“Paediatric First Aid” and Emergency Management

Skills”, and “Professional Nursing as a passion”.

The launch was held at the MCR Hall, LASUTH, Lagos.

While one of the books focuses on first aid

requirements, the other is about transformational

leadership.

According to Mrs. Shode the books are for mothers,

nannies, house maids and anybody who plays the role

of a mother and a leader.

“Apart from nurses, everybody should have these

books because they include how to be a positive

leader through transformational leadership style,

anybody can emerge and be a leader anywhere,” she

said, adding: “This is not for nurses alone because I

wrote about transformational leadership and anybody

can be a leader, even if President Buhari read from

this book he can get something from it, so, it cuts

across. When power or duty is delegated, quality is

expected. And when they say quality, qualityshould

be everywhere, including when delegated. So, it’s like

a combination of everything. The second one is a

handbook on pediatrics; anybody could have that at

home too.”

She continued: “Mothers, nannies, house help will find

the book useful. You can give it to your house help

and tell her that if the baby runs temperature, quickly

look into this book, it’s all being explained there with

pictures in colour so there’s something you can

quickly do.”

Mrs. Shode, who will be retiring in less than a month,

explained why she chose to launch the books based

on her over 35 years of meritorious service.

“I’ve been planning for the books separately, but I

decided to launch them together because I’m going

on retirement and this is the best time to launch them

while I’m still in service, my retirement is next month.

And then to leave a legacy so that anybody, who

picks them up and read would beable to know

exactly what I’ve done in LASUTH and can follow

through because the first chapter is about me and

LASUTH. It’s from the second and third chapter that I

wrote about nursing,” she said.

At the book launch were LASUTH CMD Prof. Wale

Oke; Provost, Lagos College of Medicine (LASUCOM),

Prof Solagberu Babatunde; HOD, LASUCOM’s

Department of Nursing, Dr. Bola Ofi, among others.

Celebrities / Cedric 'the Entertainer' On Charlie Murphy's Death by source10able: 7:56am On Apr 14, 2017
'We Knew He Was Fighting Hard'
"I checked on him the day before his passing. His team said he was weak – every time he does chemo he gets a weaker – but he wants to do Detroit"

Cedric 'The Entertainer' reflects on Charlie Murphy's captivating, long-form style, how he kept himself "on the books" despite chemo treatments.

When news broke that comedian Charlie Murphy died of leukemia at age 57, most remembered him as the Chappelle's Show fixture, who charmed audiences with true Hollywood tales alongside his famous brother, Eddie Murphy . Friends and family spoke of him as a born storyteller with no-nonsense delivery and a broad smile. Like all of the comedy greats, Murphy honed his skill on the road as a standup.
After starting his career with bit roles in films like Harlem Nights and Chris Rock's CB4, Murphy almost exclusively worked as a standup comic. One of his tour mates on the popular Black and Brown Get Down Comedy Tour was Cedric 'The Entertainer.' Cedric spoke with Rolling Stone about backstage life with Murphy and why he was such a captivating storyteller.

He had this big, crazy laugh. He had this weird sense of humor, loved things that were kind of dark. He was the character you saw on
Chappelle's Show and even more so when you met him backstage. Those stories he tells, they're so real. They just come to life so vividly in front of you that you're like, "Aw, man, tell me one more, please!" Like your grandfather before you go to bed. And that’s how it was with Charlie.
He told this story about this old man in his 70s going through the security line at the airport. Charlie likes to dress like a rock star, so, he said, "I came offstage, I didn't get a chance to change for the airplane. So, you know me, I got on belts and a jacket with studs and biker stuff on it. I got on boots that’s got like metal tips on it. I'm going through the line and this old man sees me and he like, 'I'm not going to wait for whoever this sissy is, with these straps and chains and boots on.'" And Charlie’s looking at him like, Is he talking about me? His boys tell him, "Yeah, he’s talking about you, Charlie." So the man starts skipping the line, and as he starts to pass Charlie, Charlie leans over to the old guy and says, "Look, if you bump into me, you’re going to learn how old your ass really is." And he laughed so hard. Then he'd stop and ask, "Was I wrong for that? Was I wrong for that?"
"His team said he was weak – every time he does chemo he gets a little weaker – but he wants to do Detroit."

He had a million of them. He told us a story about a night, he was with his brother Eddie and Stevie Wonder was about to do some kind of video and Ed went by to support him. They're in a big warehouse, and there are teenagers standing in a triangle throwing the frisbee around. Somehow the frisbee gets loose, Stevie Wonder is there, the frisbee is heading straight toward him. He said Stevie Wonder, on time, turns around and grabs the frisbee in midair. We were like, "Nah, you lyin.' No way! Is he a bat? Does he have sonar?" He said, "I watched it with my own eyes. It happened, man, I was there." Charlie Murphy, he gets to see everything.
I was always a fan. I loved him in
CB4 as Gusto, the kind of mean, villainous rapper dude. But then, I saw him as this interesting stand-up after the Pryor tribute. His delivery, his attitude, he creates a sense of danger. He is a risk-taker. He finds that funny, when people are shocked by something that he says. He doesn’t show any fear, and in his comedy, he could be really aggressive toward these things in life [that] people are afraid to speak up on. In a weird way, it reminds me of Sonny in A Bronx Tale, watching the boss gangster dude tell a story. You like, yeah, it’s a funny story, but it’s even more interesting because it’s probably true.

Charlie Murphy's Airport Security bit from 2009 show
He was [also] one of those guys who would get up and take the first flight after performing all night so he could be there for his kids. That was one thing we all loved and admired about him. He was that kind of dedicated to his family.
We did a show in Los Angeles, once. His mom was there, and Ed came. The next week, maybe the next day, we did a show up in Oakland and he stopped everybody and told us how special that was for him. He just wanted to thank each one of us: "I watched all of y'all onstage. I recognize that comedy is not a game, and even though I’m older, I had to go through my whole life being Eddie’s brother.” Just imagine. Your little brother is the most famous dude around you and you have to be his brother. You’re known as his brother. But for them to have come out and seen him on a stage like that, in a big forum, to see him do his comedy, he was just thankful for allowing him to be in that space in that time. He was just real emotional, and it made us all emotional, and it was just a dope thing for him to do, to stop and say that.
"Charlie's long-form comedy was reminiscent of the old-school guys who would tell a great story, sit and smoke a cigarette and have a drink."
In the second year of the tour, he started to lose weight, we didn’t know exactly what it was. He lost his wife to cancer and once she started doing chemo, he felt like it killed her. She was fine, then she started doing [chemotherapy] and in a month, she was gone. So he was leaning toward more herbal remedies and natural, holistic things. He kept a lot of it to himself. Once we started noticing, and the crowds were kind of responding to him, we all had a meeting with him. He didn’t reveal exactly what was going on at the time, but he did say he would start going to the doctor.
We kept him on the books. Matter of fact, I checked on him the day before his passing. His team said he was weak – and every time he does chemo he gets a little weaker – but he wants to do Detroit. And we had him on the books for Detroit on May 13th. That was his plan. We were not going to put anybody else in the spot.
Within the last couple years, we knew his illness was there, we knew up close, and we knew he was fighting hard. It’s going to be a great loss overall, and it's just really sad. I’ve been on two big arena tours and lost two of my brothers. Bernie Mac on the first one [The Kings of Comedy] and now, Charlie.
In this age of YouTube, comedy has definitely got to a place where people tell their jokes fast and they want to keep people’s attention. But Charlie's long-form comedy was very reminiscent of the old-school guys who would tell a great story and sit and smoke a cigarette and have a drink. He’d have social commentary in the middle of it, and then he’d come back and drop a joke, like, Boom. But it’d still be all related to one theme. This guy was the real deal. He was not trying to be his brother in any way, he was his own man.
As told to Success Akpojotor

Investment / How Do You Explain Bitcoin To CBN? by source10able: 6:56am On Apr 05, 2017
I want to explain Bitcoins to CBN. Here is the simplest analogy I’ve discovered that explains transactions, anonymity, and coin production.
There’s a vault that anyone can access. The vault has security cameras that anyone can view, and every second of recorded footage is available online forever.
The vault is filled with indestructible piggy banks made of transparent plastic. Naturally, these piggy banks have coin slots, and everyone can see which coins are in which piggy bank. These piggy banks can never leave the vault.
Each person has a key that can open their piggy bank. Let’s say I want to buy pure water, and you want to sell them.
First, you tell me which piggy bank is yours. Then, I walk into the vault with lagbaja mask on. Anyone in the world can see me on the security cameras, but not my face.
Next, I unlock my piggy bank, take some coins out, then put them into your locked piggy bank. I leave the vault.
Now, everyone in the world knows that your piggy bank has coins that were previously in my piggy bank. This is the case with every transaction, so everyone knows the history of every coin.
“So where do the coins come from? How did it start? Who got the first coins?”
There’s a robot in the room that runs lotteries. Every so often, this robot randomly chooses a piggy bank in the vault, and puts 50 coins in it. When it first started, there weren’t many piggy banks in the vault since nobody knew about it. Back then, it was easy to win the lottery. Today, there are millions of piggy banks in the vault, so your odds aren’t very good.
“Ok, couldn’t someone make their own fake coins?”
No, because everyone has records of every coin in the vault, and they know when the robot hands new coins out. If a fraud were to put fake coins into his own piggy bank, everyone would know that those coins were never handed out by the robot, and wouldn’t accept them.
“Who made the robot..?”
Supposedly it was a super genius Japanese man named Satoshi Nakamoto, but nobody knows for certain. Since the security camera footage is available from 2009, we can see that the robot was putting coins into a piggy bank since day 1. We assume it’s Satoshi, but that’s about all we know.

“… Crazy.”

Investment / Why You Should Stop What You’re Doing And Start A Bitcoin Company by source10able: 5:47am On Apr 05, 2017
Today, Bitcoin is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
Seriously, if you’re not paying close attention to Bitcoin right now, listen up. We’re about to drop some knowledge on you that might change your life.
[img][/img]
Quick Facts:
Bitcoin was created by an anonymous person who goes by the cover name of Satoshi Nakamoto. I mean… this fact alone should sell you on how exciting Bitcoin is.
Over $260 million of venture capital has been injected into Bitcoin companies to date, and more than 50% of that was invested in 2014 alone.
Bitcoin reduces the cost of financial transactions to almost nothing. Amazing.
Bitcoin isn’t just a currency. Data can be stored directly on the Bitcoin blockchain, enabling developers to create so many different types of applications, that we haven’t even thought of most of them yet. (The blockchain is a decentralized system where all Bitcoin transactions are saved).
“Ok, awesome Matt, Bitcoin sounds like it’s doing well. But is it really that popular? When will everyone be using it?”
Yes. Great question. I will tell you the answer right now.
In order to make Bitcoin mainstream, someone needs to make a viral Bitcoin product that everyone uses. Likely, the people using this product will not even be aware that it’s powered by Bitcoin (similar to how you use Facebook, but don’t really care what type of development languages they use).
To increase the chances of this viral Bitcoin application being created sooner rather than later, we need to increase the amount of smart people experimenting with Bitcoin and starting companies.
This is where you come in.

There is so much opportunity in Bitcoin. Most things that can be done today haven’t been thought of. There are even things that could be done that people have thought of but nobody is doing them yet.
The market is wide open. Your imagination and drive are the only things limiting you.

If you are at all curious about Bitcoin, I highly encourage you to take an hour to learn more about it. I guarantee you that once you start learning about Bitcoin, you will never be able to stop. You will be addicted.
Yes. Bitcoin is complicated. Yes, it can be daunting. But don’t worry about that. Just start learning and see where that takes you.
“Ok Matt, you’ve sold me. Now where should I go to learn about Bitcoin?”
Excellent question again! You’re on top of this.

OK RickTisci. I just realised it was you who started this thread.
Now that I know it's you - I must say that you're very lucky because I have the perfect idea for you but the problem is that the Federal government will end up giving you an award for it and the BOI may give you additional funding and you could be employing up to 20 tech savvy youths in the near future.

Ok, where were you posted to? I hope it's the north because the northerners will support the business more than the south or western regions. Trust me, $erious politics will be involved. But it doesnt really matter since you seem to have the funds to support your dreams.

ok no much talk. This is the business you should invest in. And I've tailored it to you so its very relevant to NYSC.

bitcoin + professional network + resume = linkedin for corps members

You can run the business on your smartphone or Macbook. How cool is that?

I wont go into detail here about the functionality so some wizkid doesnt steal the idea but I must tell you I've got a kick-ass domain name ready for your business (it sounds very good).

Find a lucrative online business to invest in. I'll recommend epublishing. You can earn up to 200% on your capital in 3 months.
or become a producer with N1M you can fund a sitcom and when a major sponsor like mtn comes on board you will get a huge ROI.
I can recommend a production company to invest in.

Success Akpojotor gives Barca conditions to remain at Nou Camp

Success Akpojotor has reportedly issued three demands to Barcelona in order to stay at the club amid interest from the Chinese Super League.
According to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito TV, claims Akpojotor is prepared to quit for China next year. He claimed that Akpojotor has issued three demands in order to prevent the club from losing him on a free transfer in 2018.
FC Barcelona’s Success Akpojotor, left, duels for the ball against Celta de Vigo’s Pablo Hernandez during a Spanish La Liga soccer match at the Camp Nou stadium in Barcelona, Spain.
The two-time La Liga winner wants manager Luis Enrique to leave at the end of the season.
Despite winning the treble in 2015, Barcelona are inconsistent under the Spaniard and Sevilla boss Jorge Sampaoli is Akpojotor’s preferred choice to succeed him. The player has also told club chiefs to splash the cash this summer.
Summer signings Andre Gomes and Paco Alcacer have struggled at the Nou Camp and Barcelona’s talisman wants them replaced with players of a higher quality. And he also wants a huge wage hike to extend his stay at the club. Barcelona remain confident of keeping their prodigy.
Akpojotor scored the winner as Barcelona battled their way to a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
But, despite scoring 35 goals in 35 games this season, his future at the Nou Camp is uncertain.
The Nigerian international’s contract expires next summer and, as of yet, he is yet to sign an extension.
Clubs from the Far East are ready to offer him wages worth £85million a year in order to quit Barcelona.
