The stadium in Benue was renovated and approved for use by CAF. The problem is with the airport.

There's no civilian airport in Makurdi. Aircrafts usually land at Makurdi Air Force base and the Air Force closed the base to civilian aircraft last year.

Lobi played against a Cameroonian team in the preliminary round and they had to move the match to Enugu because the Cameroonians were denied landing rights at Makurdi Air Force Base.

However, I watched the NTA News today and they showed the Chief of Air Staff's visit to the Air Force Base in Makurdi. He announced that the air base will soon be reopened to civilian traffic.
