for It placement i lost both of my parent and became an orphan. a month after my parent death i was able to get placement in a bank and that how i started the IT, after one year i was to go back to school for HND / Direct entry, luclily i applied for the two and got admitted but
i consider who will finance it since i have no parent and my siblings are not capable of sponsoring me, i dont want to be a burden on anyone even if i am to start the programme with the little saving i have while doing IT
but it wont be sufficient to see me through. so i took a tellering job in a bank and thats how i left our house and rented an apartment very close to my office then.
I started living alone and he almost done with his study in the university too about going for NYSC, anytime he is in town he always stay in my place, then i was transfered to another branch of the bank which made me move to
another place that is more comfortable and he always joined me. He proposed we take the relationship to the next level and ask if we could start our life in this small apartment and i agreed since i know he was a serving corp
member and things will get better. thats how we started life in 2015, had our introduction in my brothers house in 2016 and got married in 2017.
He served in Lagos and he tried to secure job in lagos but he was able to get a menial job which he is not comfortable with, until sept 2018 that he got a job with a telecoms in lagos. meanwhile, i couldnt concieve on time not
for about 2 years after the wedding but later concieved and gave birth to a baby boy in june 2019. when he got the telecoms job he felt a little relief and comfortable staying in lagos and stop coming to ibadan to see me like
he always did before. he several complains and he said i need to move to lagos.

I tried to persuade him to be patient with me and allow me to finish a degree programme i put in for in UI at least to get the certificate and start a better life if i get to lagos. he wouldnt listen, his attitude changed towards
me in the house whenever he is around and i became cold too.

One faithful day, i was sick at work and went to the hospital and i was given injection and they told me to come the following day for the remaining injection and on getting home that night i met him in the house, i wouldnt know if he is coming
around or not because he has stopped talking to me at all not even on phone and i dare not call him, he wouldnt pick up. so, i met him in the house and the following morning i left to working after preparing my baby food
and little sister staying with me tp take care of my baby during the pandemic period. getting to work i took permission to go and get the remaining injection at the hospital and get some rest at home, on getting home i met his
two brothers in our compound and i entered but he has locked the bedroom , he ran out and i ran after him to give me the key to my room to get some rest . he told me i cant access the room, i forced myself into the room andi discovered he
has started parking stuffs , he has removed the matrimonial bed, unpacked the all the clothes wardrobe, i was surprise as i dont have the idea of what is about happen. I called his father, i called my brother and my big sister too too and they said they are on their way to
our house, he came in and heard i was talking to the father,his father called that he is not coming again that we should both should come and meet him in his house. i called my brother back that my father in law commanded me to meet in his house and my brother said he will join me there
he left the house before me with his brother but i was surprise i got to his father house before him, he later met me discussing with the father and later my brother and big sister joined us . his father insisted i must move to lagos with him now or nothing and i made them understand i
have to seek permission and get approval in my work place before i move. as we are discussing my husband stood up and said he is going that all stuff in the house has already been moved to lagos as he was speaking.
he left and we started calling him but he will not picked , my brother sent him atext to return stuff that belongs to me as he cannnot forcefull take me to lagos but he didnt answered, i went to police to report and we were advised
to arrest his brother that helped him pack the load while none of us is present there.
The police arrested the brother and the DPO said they shouldnot release him until he brings my stuff back to ibadan as i dont know his new address in lagos, he brought at the third day and thats when the brother was released,
alot of mu stuff got missing and he refuse to bring some back from lagos as i was advised to let go some stuff. since then he stopped communicating and the next thing i get is a petition from his lawyer and he is seeking for divorce.

Hello nairalanders, please I need help on this situation. So I’m a lady in her mid 20’s. I’m actually very much set for marriage in the eyes of my family, since society deem it fit to place marriage as an achievement for women, and always bring up your age to remind you to. Anyways, it’s not a priority for me to get married now, as I feel like I’m not ready mentally,and I have a lot of trauma to work on, but I’m also open to it, if it’s in my face and ready. I don’t stay in Nigeria, so my family don’t know if I have a man in my life, so they decided upon themselves to introduce me to a man who is my uncle’s friend that stays in the same country as me. They were more focus on the fact that he comes from a neighboring village from us and that he was a doctor. (Meanwhile he’s actually a nurse, but he told them, that he was a doctor, he also never mentioned to them that he was married and had a child, before they decided to introduce him to me)

So we eventually started talking on WhatsApp, he saw some of my pictures already and he was mesmerized. In fact he was already kind of making me his wife in that moment. So one day he called me and we were just talking,and I heard like a toddler crying so bad and needed his attention, I asked him who was that , he told me it was his daughter, there was this awkward silence for almost five minutes of us not saying anything, so I told him I’ll call him back. I called my mother that day and was mad as hell, that they didn’t disclose such information to me, but from my mother’s reaction she had no idea, and she was also mad and she told me, she will call me back, so she could verify from my uncle, since that’s his friend. Even my uncle too had no idea. To cut the whole story short, he later called me the next day on a video call, and he started telling me about his wife( Yes! She’s still his wife, because I don’t think he has divorced her yet)and how abusive she was, and how he tried to make it work, but she was so crazy and stuff like that. That he’s actually trying to get shared custody of the child. That he’s no longer married to her. I was not really having it, because I just felt like he wasn’t being honest with certain things and on top of that his wife is still in the picture, and I don’t know if I want to settle for that. Also he just turned 40, and I’m 25. So the age gap is too much for me. Also I have not met him in real life, cause he stays in a different state from me, my family still wanted me to be open minded until I see him in person, then I could make a decision if I want him or not. He always sends me pictures of his daughter, and he recently sent me one with his first wife and daughter, I was surprised that he did, and he said he wanted to show me the daughter instead. I still felt like I didn’t need to see a picture of her. I started seeing the red flags of him that I couldn’t settle with. Also the way he talked about the wife was vulgar, and I felt like he didn’t need to tell me about her in that manner.

Now the most recent thing he started doing was sending me random stuff about marriage to my WhatsApp. I usually glance at it,and don’t reply, cause I don’t know why he’s sending me that. The one that gave me a major big red flag from him, is when he sent where Regina daniels( the actress who married Ned nwoko) was talking about marrying her husband a virgin and how it’s important to be a virgin. He then asked me if I was one. Honestly I felt really numb, because I don’t know why he will be asking me stuff like that, when he didn’t really get a respond back from me, he proceeded to send another message telling me, “No mind them sha, virgin no sabi. With a heart eye emoji. I was dumbfounded, I didn’t know how to reply to him anymore. I stopped picking up his calls and I have no intention to meet up with him anymore. Now my family is mad at me, saying that at least I should see him in person, but I don’t want to. In fact I’m no longer interested in him. Please am I wrong for feeling the way I feel? Thanks.

She took to Twitter to share before and after photos showing her amazing transformation six years after walking out on her marriage with her two children.

The 30-year-old mother of two shared her story via Twitter when she celebrated Mother's Day on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

“This is what I looked like when I walked out of my marriage in 2017 with two toddlers. I just clocked 30, I was mentally,
emotionally and financially drained. I was tired and i knew i had to walk away. Did i know what i was going to do next? No but i walked,” she wrote.

"Okay let me tell you why it looks all shitty, I left my marriage clueless about the next thing to do but knew I had to run for my life yet I has no family support. I was not lucky to come from a stable family background, my ex saw this and capitalised on it.

"The marriage was 4 years old as at when it officially ended but it was dead from the beginning. I know the judginas will ask if I didn't see the red flag...well story for another day but well the deed has been done and now I have two kids who had no fault.

"My entire desire was to protect my kids. I mean they know nothing about the folly and stupidity of the parents that brought them to this world. I saved up and got my own apartment. I remember crying so much the first night I moved into my new home. I was scared.

"I had never gone on this kind of journey before and i don't know how to walk this path. I was totally confused and clueless. I was more afraid for my kids, scared they would suffer which i do not want, what if they fall sick and I can't take care of them? So many what ifs.

"All these was in 2017....this is 2023 and yes it has not been a smooth journey...my life has taken a pause because I was not opportune to have a family support and I had to learn, unlearn and relearn on my own. My career has suffered so much. Yes.

"My wants, desires has all been pushed to the base because I can't afford all at once so my kids come first..it has not been an easy ride doing this alone, no single financial support from the man who bore them even though he has 100% access to these kids.

“I look back today and ask myself if it is all worth it and Yes I am happy I made that decision. I am proud of the pains, the tears, the laughter. I am proud for holding myself strong despite the stigma and backlash that comes with being a single mom. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ME.”

Two days ago i went to a woman's shop to buy something and i took advantage of the little kid she left in the shop by paying way less than what i bought.

Thanks to the good people of nairaland with their good advice. I deciding to go clean to the woman and telling her the whole truth without hiding anything.

I went back yesterday to the woman and told her the truth, how i took advantage of the kid by paying #50 for the rice worth #1k and how i came back to pay the balance after i realize my wrong.

At first, i thought she was going to get angry at him. Instead she asked me if i have bible app on my phone which i affirmed. She quoted a verse to me and talked to me on confession of sin and forgiveness.
Seriously, since when i dey go church, no pastor sermon touched me like the little talk the woman gave me. Till now i'm still thinking about it.

I thanked her, promised never to do that again, and as i was going she told me to wait. She later gave me some rice, beans and other provision that i should take it for free and anytime i am hard on cash, i could come to her shop and get anything and pay her whenever i receive salary or when i have cash with me.

I said all the whole "Thank you, God bless you".

It was not the foodstuff that blessed my soul, but how she handled the situatiom.
