Residents were observed cheerfully scooping fuel from a toppled tanker along Otedola Bridge in Lagos State. This is both bewildering and deeply concerning. Do they not realize the inherent dangers of this activity, or is it a result of extreme poverty that has led them to disregard safety precautions? This behavior is hazardous and should be strongly condemned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3te38-_ykI 2 Likes

One incident happened in Portharcourt sometime ago, a tanker laden with pms felled close to Oilmill and the road was cordoned off by residents and traffic redirected, all these were done before government stepped in. I will say the high level of hazard awareness and trainings in Phc played a part, an average person in Phc understands basic HSE as opposed to Lagos where you have more like a mix of everything. 86 Likes 7 Shares |
