RE; OPERATION OCCUPY OAU #NO TO OCCUPY OAU Arise, O community of OAU, Wilt thou, With eyes wide awake With ears wide open, With mouths wide agape (saying Ah), With nostrils wide sniffing (smelling trouble, yet clueless), With hands widespread (like a clueless child) With intellectual, minds quite vast (yet idle), With thinking caps, quite widespread (yet unthinking), Will thou, Allow anyone else to occupy OAU, Other than yourselves? Arise, O Great Ife community, Whose greatness is incomparable, So much that no one dares say greatest Ife Because He that is ‘Great’ is ‘Great’ And needs no comparison. Little wonder, There’s only one Great And others are grating and greating Trying to be the greatest. But you are just GREAT like that. What more can you ask for? Because He that is ‘Great’ is ‘Great’ And needs no comparison Why then, Will you allow anyone else to occupy Great Ife Other than the Great? Arise O citadel of intellectuals Who else knows where the shoe pinches, More than he who wears the shoe? Who else knows that our hostels are in derelict conditions? More than we who inhabit them? Who else knows that we are running a 2014/2015 calendar in 2016 More than we who are in it? Who else knows where the shoe pinches, More than WE who wear them? Why then, Will we allow anyone else to occupy OAU, Other than the Great? O community of the Great Ivory Tower, Who else knows that our student union executives have been suspended More than we who desired and elected them? Who else knows that our executives are suffering an almost unjust cause, More than we whom they represent? Who else knows that he who dares to take up the staff of leadership Must be ready to suffer for an unjust cause Other than we in whom leadership skills are being imparted? Who else can occupy OAU Other than we? Who knows that a mother cannot forget her suckling child? Who else can occupy OAU Other than the Great? O community of Great Ife students, Come to think of it, Reason with me. If you have a quarrel with your father, And the waves have turned against you with your mother, Will you, By inviting your concerned extended family, Together with your pack of energetic friends, To lock up the home where you were bred Find the favour you desire? Who else, Can occupy the gates of your home Other than you? Why then, Will you? O Great Ife O citadel of Wisdom O home of leaners and discoverers O leaders weaning home. Why then, Will we allow a community (NANS ZONE D) That knows not the first thing Nor the last thing About the struggles we’ve been through. Why, tell me why? Will we allow a community that knows nothing About how we find the courage; In the face of untold hardship –when conditions are at their worst; In the face of unsaid stress –when our lecturers stretch us to our breaking point; In the face of unheard struggle – when what we desire is not what we get To cry – because we are human; To smile – because we always win in the end; To live – because we are survivors; To love – because our moments together are precious To crack jokes ‘Aro’ – because life is short, and To come out strong – because that’s what being great is about. So, tell me why, After you’ve been through all these, And still came out strong, Will you allow anyone to occupy OAU Other than the Great? O great community of intellectuals, We have been notified And a request has been made! Even if a request wasn’t made, Will you, O Great Ife, Stand and watch, And permit some seemingly well-meaning individuals Take charge of your home And sabotage activities In a community That they know nothing about? YES! The dress code is a red top And the RED FLAG we will lift high Our RED FLAG signifies a RED STOP And collectively we say ‘Stop where you are’ In your campuses, In your homes In your domain! Indeed, we are honoured By your desire to fight for us But will be more honoured To fight and win our battles ourselves To this end We maintain a polite but firm NO TO NANS D FOR WHO ELSE CAN OCCUPY OAU OTHER THAN THE GREAT? GREAT IFE ARTICULATE IFE While raising our red flag that reads ‘stop’ Let us stand for what we have always stood for We don’t need a third party to interfere with our family affair Let us stand together in the unity of greatness And sign the petition Spread the news And send word out Saying; #NO TO OCCUPY OAU FOR NO ONE CAN OCCUPY GREAT IFE OTHER THAN THE GREAT ANONYMOUS Cc; All SUG PRESIDENTS ALL JCC CHAIRMEN (ZONE D) NANS NATIONAL PRESIDENT PRESS NLC #copied |

Message from Bishop Dag Heward-Mills The Titanic was presumed to be the largest, safest and strongest luxury ship in the world before it embarked on its disastrous maiden voyage in April 1912. All kinds of people were welcomed on the ship for its first voyage. The rich, the famous, the elite, women, children, families and staff of the ship were all happy to be on board. It was billed to be the ship that could not sink, but it did sink on its first journey from Southampton to New York. This was one of the greatest tragedies of all time. After the ship sank, two lists were presented at the offices of The White Star Company (the company which built the Titanic). The list was simple. It had only two sections: ‘LOST’ and ‘SAVED’. People came to read these lists to find out if their loved ones had survived. Interestingly, before the journey so many things were important. Whether they worked on the ship or were on vacation? Whether they were rich or poor. Whether they were millionaires or peasants. Whether they were stockbrokers or not. Whether they were in first class or economy class. Whether they were men or women. Whether they had a lot of luggage or not. But after the sinking of the Titanic none of these things mattered anymore. Only one thing mattered- whether they were saved or lost. Dear friend that is how Eternity will be. A time will come when none of the things we have on this earth will matter. A time will come when it will not matter whether you are a man or a woman! A time will come when it will not matter whether you are rich or poor! What will matter is whether you are ‘LOST’ or ‘SAVED’ on the day you die and meet your creator! GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS TODAY!AND IF YOU ALREADY HAVE,LIVE FOR HIM!!!! share this with all your contact(it is someone's chance to make it to heaven) DONT SHARE LATER, SHARE NOW...NEITHER YOU NOR YOUR CONTACT,IS GUARANTEED 'LATER'......... be blessed !!!!!!!! |

The truth of the matter is that Mr Ubah knows the rudimentary code of demand, supply, artificial scarcity and Hoarding. They use this theory a lot in the fuel retail business, so He knows what is happening. Mr Buhari is just to clueless and to understand this simple economics since he failed his Waec what do you expect. The previous policy of rejecting Dollar deposits also helped to worsen the situation. I hope Mr Buhari listens to real economist and not all his 97+5=100 ministers. BTW Mr Ubah is just an experienced retailer, so Baba should take his consultations with a pinch of salt so that they would not completely ruin Nigeria's economy on the anambra trial by error economics. I don't also trust this man ![]() |
Great Ife Miracy come and see your people o |
This post is directed to those who are knowledgeable about the rules of financial transactions both in Nigeria and the Developed nations especially the USA. 1. Assuming my mom comes to the U.S for an academic conference ( let's say in Atlanta G.A) and my younger brother stays in North Carolina and he has a bank account in an American bank (let's say sun trust) can my mom just enter a sun trust branch in Atlanta and deposit to his account just like it obtains in Nigeria? 2. Let's assume that she needs to send money to me here in Nigeria for some reasons, can she wire dollars directly to my domiciliary account here in Nigeria? Or can my bro wire directly to me from his own account over there? 3. How much is the cash limit that can be held when leaving Nigeria and when coming back in cash (Dollars and Naira please) I need response as to this. Thanks Hungerbad cococandy bebe2 justwise |

Anything about Ooni goes straight to front page. Nairaland mods are obsessed with this King .haaaa ![]() |
I have had several issues with this men in black, but 1 stands out. It was a cold morning and I just got back from Cotonou where I went to buy a tiny light Camry for a customer, I left Lagos around 5:30am and got to Ibadan by 7.am, At Iwo road round about, I met them and they asked for the particulars because I had fixed the license plate from seme border, When they checked and returned it they asked me to open the booth which I did, that's how they saw the rim covers still tied and the Toyota logo, some other parts yet to be fixed, Their boss asked for the papers again and started shouting that I registered the car before it was cleared at customs and I said yes he said I should enter and drive him to the station, I started begging and he said I should behave like a man and do the right thing, I told him that I ain't got no money and he told me no problem, that we are going to the station. I called the owner who was a lawyer and the licensing guy. The police man saw the name of the owner starting with barrister, that's how he told. E to buy 200 naira airtel and mtn credit which I bought for him and he gave me document. I was just laughing throughout |
