That is the argument I have long been making. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is a good picked for all the reasons Mr. Atiku Abubakar has listed. He is also a good pick because it shows Mr. Atiku Abubakar can make good decision, not just for himself, but for Nigeria and Nigerians in general. Furthermore, Dr. Okowa pick will definitely broaden the overall support for PDP in all geopolitical zones in Nigeria. He is a Christian. He comes from oil producing states in South/South geopolitical zone. Many experts and opinion makers have traced his ethnic group to both Ibos and the Yorubas. Millions of Muslims live and work in Delta state as well. And most importantly, no report of ethnic or religious clashes in Delta state under the leadership of governor Ifeanyi Okowa. So, no matter what some people may say or think, picking Dr. Okowa by Atiku Abubakar as his running mate is a win—win for PDP and Mr. Abubakar himself.
