REDEPLOYMENT OF COMPTROLLERS

The Comptroller-General of Customs Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) has approved the redeployment of seven (7) Comptrollers of Customs.
They are:
• Aber, T. B. Kirikiri Lighter Terminal to Ag. ACG Modernization
(HQ)
• Wushishi, L. ICT (HQ) to Kirikiri Lighter Terminal
• Babani, A. Port Harcourt Area II to Post Clearance Audit (Zone
‘A’)
• Abubakar, B. Post Clearance Audit (Zone ‘A’) to Port Harcourt
Area II
• Mohammed, A. A. Finance Administration and Technical
Service (HQ) to Seme
• Dimka, V. O. From Seme to Zone ‘D’ HQ Bauchi
• Odibu, C. O. Human Resource Development (HRD) to
Ikorodu Lighter Terminal
As the affected officers resume at their new posts, the CGC urges them to re-engineer their Commands for effective and efficient service delivery.

Governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode has reiterated that Danfo Buses will be removed from Lagos roads.

Ambode said in a statement on Wednesday that "new buses befitting of a true cosmopolitan city" will be brought to the state.

He said "We want Lagosians to move from one point to another comfortably and quickly so that productivity can grow.

Our bus transport reform is not just about changing the buses".

The governor stated that the initiative is an integrated reform which will see the introduction of modern bus terminals, lay-bys, delineation of lanes, road signalization and traffic management.

"This is a huge reform and as with all reforms, it comes with all forms of difficulties, but we can assure that it is for the good of all" he added.

President Buhari has signed the instrument of ratification of the treaty on the establishment of the Abidjan-Lagos corridor among the Governments of Republic of Benin, Cote D'ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria.

His special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina made the disclosure Tuesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday resumed office duties at the Presidential villa after a 50-day medical vacation in the UK.

The President Spent 3 hours in office, he resumed at exactly 11:00am and returned to his residence around 2:10pm, contrary to his usual closing time of 4:00pm and beyond, according to Daily Trust.

Three things the president did today;

- President Buhari met with his immediate staffs - Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, his SA on new media Bashir Ahmad and other aides.

- He Signed his resumption letters and transmitted them to the senate and national assembly.

- The President then held a one-hour meeting with the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo who gave the details to state house correspondents.

Afrobeat star, Ayo Balogun popularly known as ‘WizKid’ has bagged an iHeart Radio Award for his collaboration on ‘One dance’ with American rapper, Drake and singer, Kyla.

The international award which is his first for the year comes weeks after he failed to clinch a Grammy award for the same song.

The song lost in the Album of the Year category at the Grammys 2017 for the album “Views”.

According to the billboard (http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7710210/iheartradio-music-awards-2017-winners-list), ‘One dance,’ won Hip-Hop Song of the Year beating another Drake song ‘Controlla’, Desiigner’s ‘Panda’, Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s ‘All the way up’, and DJ Khaled’s ‘For free’ featuring Drake.

WizKid who recently signed a deal with Sony RCA is bound to release his third studio album “Sounds from the Other Side” on the 9th of June, 2017.

The singer had gained international relevance with the release of Ojuelegba in 2014 with led to a remake by Drake and fellow rapper Skepta.

WizKid recently released new music ‘Sweet love’, a kind of video comprising of his tour moments over the past year.

Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo's meeting with Stakeholders in Edo state was halted for about 3 minutes when a call from President Muhammadu Buhari came in.

Osinbajo received the call while some protesters came in demanding that the meeting should be held in the oil producing communities.

Muslims and Christians in Taraba on Saturday held a joint special prayer for the speedy recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari who is currently on medical vacation in the United Kingdom.

The prayer was held at the Jalingo Eid prayer ground.

Speaking at the occasion, representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Rev. Baba Yerima, said praying for the well-being of Buhari was the duty of every “true believer”.

He noted that the President had brought peace and unity to the country, and therefore urged the gathering to pray for leaders at all times.

Ustaz Ali Babando, a Muslim cleric, said the President had been doing his best in tackling the country’s socio-economic challenges.

He noted that it was in the interest of Nigerians to keep praying for Buhari, to enable him return home to consolidate on the fight against terror and corruption.

Alhaji Sani Tullu, Secretary, Taraba Chapter, Buhari Support Organisation(BSO), said the BSO had organised prayer and rally in honour of the President whom he described as a visionary leader.

“We salute the giant strides and landmark achievement of Buhari’s administration in his efforts to reposition the country.

“We are particularly impressed with the performance of the administration in anti-corruption fight, decimating insurgents, revitalising Agriculture, Education and Health sectors,” he said.
