Christianity EtcEden, Consciousness, And The Human Condition: A New Look At The Fall Through Scr by Spectators(op): 1:58am On Nov 23, 2025
Eden, Consciousness, and the Human Condition: A New Look at the Fall Through Scripture, Psychology and Faith

Few stories shape human understanding of sin, choice, and spirituality like the biblical account of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. For centuries, theologians, philosophers, and psychologists have debated what really happened when the first humans ate the forbidden fruit. Was it simply an act of disobedience? Or does the story represent something deeper about human consciousness, behaviour and the nature of spiritual connection?

Today, a growing number of Christian thinkers and behavioural scholars are revisiting the Eden narrative — not to rewrite Scripture, but to explore its layered meaning in a modern world grappling with overstimulation, anxiety, and the search for meaning.

The Command in Eden and the Rise of Separation

In Genesis 2:16–17, God places Adam in Eden and gives a simple instruction:
“You may freely eat of every tree in the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat…”

The command is straightforward, yet its implication is profound. Before this moment, humanity lived in perfect harmony with God — no fear, no shame, no moral struggle. Verse Genesis 2:25 underscores this innocence:
“They were both naked…and were not ashamed.”

But when the serpent appears in Genesis 3, it introduces something new: doubt. With subtle persuasion — “Did God really say…?” — the serpent reframes God’s protection as restriction. The motivation is not curiosity but deception, aiming to separate humanity from its source.

After Adam and Eve eat the fruit, Scripture says, “their eyes were opened” (Genesis 3:7). The result is both spiritual and psychological: guilt, fear, and self-awareness. For the first time, they hide from God (Genesis 3:cool. The bond between Creator and creation fractures.

Spiritual Interpretation: From Eden to Christ

Christian theologians widely interpret Eden not as a myth but as an account of humanity’s earliest spiritual fall — a turning away from divine relationship. Sin enters the world not merely through eating fruit, but through disobedience and misplaced desire.

The Old Testament becomes the long journey of God trying to restore this broken relationship.

Abraham is called to build a covenant family (Genesis 12:1–3).

Moses receives laws meant to guide behaviour (Exodus 20).

Prophets like Elijah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah warn and call the nation back to God.

Yet the law alone could not transform the human heart. As Paul would later state in Romans 8:3, “the law was powerless…because it was weakened by the flesh.”

This is where Jesus enters the narrative.

In Matthew 5:17, He says:
“I have not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them.”

Christ provides the “why” behind divine commands — showing that God desires transformation, not mere rule-keeping. After His resurrection, the Holy Spirit is introduced as a permanent guide (John 14:26), helping believers live out the teachings that once seemed impossible.

A Psychological Reading: Consciousness, Behaviour and the Brain

Alongside theology, psychologists draw remarkable parallels between the Eden narrative and the development of the human mind.

Studies suggest children operate mostly through their subconscious until around age seven, when the conscious mind matures — the stage at which guilt, moral awareness, and self-identity emerge. Some scholars argue that Eden symbolises this transition: the fruit “opened their eyes,” awakening consciousness.

Jesus’ statement in Matthew 19:14 — “Let the little children come to Me…for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” — aligns with the idea that pure, subconscious innocence mirrors the spiritual state God originally intended.

Psychologists also note that human behaviour is heavily driven by needs and the brain’s reward system. Pleasure from food, status, entertainment, and material gain triggers dopamine surges — the chemical behind desire and addictive behaviour. When dopamine dominates, judgment weakens.

Some Christian behavioural researchers compare this to Eve’s temptation in Genesis 3:6:
“The woman saw that the tree was good for food, pleasing to the eyes, and desirable for gaining wisdom.”

This threefold desire — physical, emotional, intellectual — mirrors today’s behavioural patterns where overstimulation pushes people beyond healthy limits.

Faith, Fasting and the Science of Reflection

Modern neuropsychology supports practices long emphasised in Scripture, such as fasting and prayer.

Fasting reduces dopamine stimulation, increasing clarity and self-control.
The Bible reflects this in Isaiah 58:6, describing fasting as a means to “break every yoke.”

Prayer and meditation raise serotonin levels, promoting peace and stability — aligning with Jesus’ instruction in Matthew 6:6 to pray in quiet reflection.

These practices shift the brain from impulsive reaction to thoughtful awareness — from what Paul calls “the flesh” to “the spirit” (Galatians 5:16).

The Message Behind It All: A Way Back to Wholeness

Seen together, the spiritual and psychological dimensions of the Eden narrative offer a compelling message:

Knowledge awakened human consciousness, but also exposed humans to fear, ego, and unhealthy desire.

God’s plan — from Abraham to Christ — aims to heal that separation.

Jesus’ teachings redirect us from dopamine-driven living to a reflective, disciplined, spiritually connected life.

In essence, Christianity presents not just rules but a path — a way of living grounded in faith, emotional balance, and moral clarity. Jesus emphasized this when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

Conclusion: Eden’s Lesson for the Modern World

The forbidden fruit story is not simply a tale of ancient failure. It is a blueprint of human nature — how consciousness, desire, and moral struggle shape our lives.

The narrative warns that while knowledge expands our world, it also increases complexity and temptation. It teaches that without spiritual grounding, the human mind becomes overwhelmed by its own impulses.

But above all, it reveals a God who continually seeks relationship, offering guidance through Scripture, the Holy Spirit, and practices that align both soul and psychology toward wholeness.

As many Christian teachers now say:
“Christianity is not only a religion — it is a way of life.”

Arugba Faults Kwara First Lady’s Statement, Says Eruku Church Attack “Was Successful, Not Attempted”

Nollywood actress Oluwabukola Grace Awoyemi, popularly known as Arugba, has released an emotional video refuting the official narrative issued earlier by the First Lady of Kwara State concerning the bandit attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) congregation in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

In the video posted on her TikTok page on Tuesday, the actress—who is also the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Damola Olatunji—said she was speaking “directly” to the First Lady to correct what she described as false information allegedly supplied by the police.

Awoyemi, who hails from Eruku, insisted that the incident was a full-scale, successful attack, not an “attempted attack” as stated in the First Lady’s public statement.

> “Ma’am, the information you got from the Kwara State Police is false because this involves my people directly,” she said. “It was a successful attack. We all saw the video. They were streaming live during the church programme when the bandits came in and a lot of people were abducted.”

The actress said she has been in direct contact with families and residents of the affected community, stressing that the situation was far worse than publicly acknowledged.

According to her, at least three people have been confirmed dead, while an unspecified number of worshippers remain missing.

> “Three people are dead now. I’ve spoken to many people from my town—my cousins, my uncles. Presently, three or four of my cousins are in the bandits’ den. They’ve been abducted,” she lamented.

Awoyemi also disclosed that Evangelist Titi Balogun, whom she identified as her mother’s younger sister, was among those taken by the attackers. She added that Ebenezer, her cousin’s son, was also kidnapped.

Visibly distressed, the actress said residents of Eruku were heartbroken and terrified as families are still searching for missing loved ones.

> “Everybody is crying in my town now because we can’t find them. We don’t even know if they’ll be found dead or alive. It will be very painful if we are seeing what I saw on your page, ma’am. That report is false. People are dead and countless people have been abducted.”

Calling for urgent intervention from authorities, she appealed to both state and federal governments to act swiftly to rescue the abducted victims and address the recurring insecurity in the region.

> “Please save us. We don’t know what to do right now. This is not only in Eruku; the whole of Nigeria needs help,” she said.

VDM, Mr Jollof Clash in Mid-Air Brawl Aboard United Nigeria Airlines Flight (VIDEO)

Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, widely called Mr Jollof, engaged in a physical fight aboard a United Nigeria Airlines flight on Monday.

The incident was revealed by a Facebook user, Dr. Paul Ezikel, who posted a video showing the altercation. According to him, the two boarded a flight from Asaba, Delta State, en route to Lagos when tempers flared and the scuffle broke out.

The confrontation is believed to be a continuation of their long-running feud on social media. Their dispute escalated months ago after VDM accused Mr Jollof’s wife of allegedly having affairs with internet fraudsters, a claim that intensified hostilities between both men.

VDM later confirmed the in-flight fracas in a Facebook post, boasting that he overpowered the comedian.

“I don chop Jollof father for inside plane. He bite me, man wey de bite,” he said in a video shared online.

Collaborate with the US, Other Allies to Defeat Murderous Terrorists in Nigeria – Senator Dickson Charges FG

SENATOR Henry Seriake Dickson, has advised the Federal Government to with with United States, and other allies of Nigeria to defeat terrorists in Nigeria.
"I wish to state, firstly, that Nigeria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions must be respected by all. At the same time, I fully support any collaborative action aimed at eradicating the murderous bands of terrorists who have wantonly slaughtered thousands of our countrymen and women — Christians, Muslims, and people of other faiths alike," the Senator said in a statement he released in Abuja.
He explained his position, "For almost 15 years, jihadist terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and affiliates of ISWAP, ISIS, al-Qaeda, and, more recently, groups like Lakurawa and Wulowulo, have wreaked unimaginable havoc. They introduced suicide bombing in Nigeria and began a murderous campaign, especially in Borno State, from which it gradually spread across the northeastern part of our country.
Places of worship — both churches and mosques, as well as palaces and traditional rulers have not been spared in their bloodbath. School children have been kidnapped, killed, or forcefully married off. The victims of these jihadist attacks, which began in Borno, were Muslims and Christians," the former Bayelsa State Governor, said.
"As fundamentalist groups opposed to Western education, these terrorists have consistently targeted schools and students, leading to the abductions of the Chibok girls, Dapchi girls, and Buni Yadi school children, among others. Till today, Nigeria has not fully accounted for the whereabouts of many of these students — for instance, Leah Sharibu and some Chibok girls remain missing.
"Universities and their students have also suffered attacks, and these terrorist groups still maintain footholds and control territories within Nigeria. In States such as Borno, Zamfara, and Katsina, according to accounts from government officials and community leaders, these terrorists continue to control territories, impose taxes on locals, and generally exercise authority — by their own rules, not by the laws of the Nigerian state or the Constitution.
"This is a direct affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty and should not be tolerated any further. President Trump’s statement is a wake-up call to action. If the Nigerian government is unable to address this issue effectively, then it must collaborate with those who can help us flush out these terrorists," the Senator said in reaction to suggestions that collaborating with other countries to fight terrorists who have appropriated some parts of Nigeria.
Senator Dickson, who represents Bayelsa West said, "At the Senate, my colleagues and I have repeatedly raised these issues, even beyond the floor of the Senate. Hardly a week passes without a member of the Senate drawing attention to reports of killings and attacks on villages in one constituency or the other. The Senate has paid countless tributes in memory of those killed, as well as several suggestions and proposals to the Executive, including the proposal for a National Security Summit to be held soon. Most recently, the Senate took a motion and directed its leadership to interface with the President to dispatch a non-partisan team of experts and statesmen to Washington DC.
"Even States that were once considered safe zones have now been affected, as the insurgency, banditry, and terrorism have spread to places like Sokoto, Zamfara, Taraba, Katsina, Niger, and even Kwara.
"Everyone in Nigeria knows that in the Middle Belt region of Benue and Plateau, and also in Southern Kaduna, the coordinated massacres of innocent citizens by marauding terrorists and bandits, coupled with the displacement of indigenous communities, have been going on for many years. Some of the footages of the carnage are unimaginable, while efforts by government and security agencies have clearly not been effective in tackling the menace."
According to Senator Dickson, "The failure of successive governments in Nigeria to prevent, arrest, or punish perpetrators decisively created room for several conspiracy theories, including state complicity under late President Buhari’s administration — a concern once raised by no less a person than General T. Y. Danjuma, a former Chief of Army Staff and former Minister of Defence, in reaction to the slaughter and unrestrained killings in his home state of Taraba during the Buhari administration. Late President Buhari’s policy of appointing mostly Muslims to head all the security services during his eight years in office further worsened these perceptions.
"As Nigerians, we must be honest with ourselves that the killings have gone on for too long and government and security forces have been overwhelmed. We need help! No nation can confront terrorism in isolation. We must therefore work with our allies and partners to defeat this menace once and for all."
Senator Dickson, who is Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations said, "It is on the strength of the foregoing that I strongly recommend that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should collaborate with President Donald Trump, the US Government, and other allies and friends of Nigeria to flush out these marauding terrorists. He should also improve relations with our neighbouring countries whose cooperation and support will be essential in the war against terrorism.
"I have, on several occasions, raised concerns about the non-appointment of ambassadors for over two years. This anomaly should be corrected as soon as possible to enable our country maximise its diplomatic resources and options. May God help Nigeria," Senator Dickson concluded.
President Trump had stated his intention to attack terrorists in Nigeria to stop genocide against Christians.

FUOYE: Stakeholders warn Ekiti NYCN leader against destabilizing varsity

Stakeholders from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), under the aegis of FUOYE Progressive Society, (FPS/) have warned the state chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) Mr. Segun Bankole against acts capable of destabilizing the peace of the University, saying he is meddling in affairs outside the purview of his office and playing with fire by allowing himself to be used by political gladiators in the system who are losing in the on going VCship race, to cause chaos in FUOYE in the name of an unthoughtful protest.

A statement made available to news men on Tuesday morning and signed by the spokesman of the stakeholders,
.Laide Adebayo,, reads in part :

" Segun Bankole of NYCN and his Shinanigan in FUOYE Today calls for retrospection.
One would wonder why Bankole, a supposed civil servant, would involve himself so deeply in political activities, especially those concerning a Federal University like Oye-Ekiti. Little wonder the promiscuous young man was reportedly redeployed from Government House Protocol to an unknown destination for his mischievous, criminal, and mole-like activities. One should rightfully ask Bankole, who apparently couldn't manage his own life appropriately, having lost four of his co-executives due to his recklessness, greediness, and poor leadership skills, why he isn't focused on fixing his own life instead of jumping into the academic affairs of FUOYE, a domain where he is neither a student nor an alumnus. The story of how his once-fabled Lexus car suddenly downgraded to a Peugeot 505 is a tale that will be told very soon. We strongly advise him to stay out of FUOYE activities, or else he will inevitably face doom, even in his purportedly 'scam' YSJ farming activities.

Omoge Saida Leaked Sėxtåpe: When Fame, Privacy, and Legacy Collide in the Digital Age (WATCH)

The name Omoge Saida has recently dominated social media trends across Nigeria. Once celebrated as a muse of Fuji music legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), she has now become the subject of online discussions that blend nostalgia, controversy, and reflections on privacy in the digital age.

Omoge Saida, a popular UK-based gold dealer and Lagos socialite, became a household name after being eulogised by KWAM 1 De Ultimate in one of his Fuji classics. The Fuji icon, known for immortalising influential personalities through poetic praise, used her name to symbolize grace, wealth, and class — a hallmark of the Yoruba highlife culture that flourished in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her appearance in KWAM 1’s music established her as a symbol of beauty and sophistication, and the phrase “Omoge Saida” soon became a pop expression among Fuji lovers.

Decades later, that same name resurfaced for an entirely different reason, trending widely after a purported private viral video began circulating online. The incident ignited heated conversations about digital ethics, online privacy, and non-consensual content — raising questions about how quickly the internet can turn admiration into intrusion.

South African Influencer Deletes X Posts After Toilet Intimacy Video Goes Viral (WATCH)

A South African social media influencer, Nthabiseng Kwakweni, has reportedly deleted all her X (formerly Twitter) posts after an embarrassing video showing her in a compromising position with a man inside a public toilet stall went viral online.

The incident, which has quickly become a trending topic across South African social media, shows Kwakweni — popularly known for her glamorous lifestyle posts — engaging in an intimate act with a man believed to be her colleague.

According to multiple online sources, the pair had allegedly sneaked into a toilet during a social event while under the influence of alcohol. Unfortunately for them, an individual in the next stall overheard the unusual sounds and climbed onto the toilet seat to peek over — capturing the entire act on video.

In the footage, the unidentified man can be seen standing close behind Kwakweni, who appears unaware that they are being filmed from above. Moments later, she reportedly notices the camera, but the recording had already been made and shared.

The explicit video has since spread rapidly across X and other platforms, with many South Africans creating memes and jokes about the incident. Others, however, have condemned the recording and online circulation of the private moment, calling it a violation of privacy.

Amid the backlash and widespread trolling, Kwakweni has deactivated or deleted her X posts, sparking further discussions about the consequences of social media fame and public exposure.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether an investigation will be launched into the filming and sharing of the video, which may breach South Africa’s cybercrime and privacy laws.

EducationFuoye Ssanu: A Typical Example Of Hooliganism, Using Unionism For Personal Gains by Spectators(op): 10:33am On Oct 21, 2025
*FUOYE SSANU: A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF HOOLIGANISM, USING UNIONISM FOR PERSONAL GAINS AND* *SELFISH AGENDA*

On October 20, 2025, just as it had been for over 16 months, the leadership of FUOYE SSANU treacherously ensured that another wave of pandemonium swept across the FUOYE community, and the same was quickly released on different news platforms. For personal reasons best known to the institution's SSANU leaders, many of which they wouldn't come out to disclose to the public whenever they go agog with their false alarms and misleading editorials, they have practically and continually turned FUOYE into a war arena which now gravitates toward a noisy cemetery, while displaying unprecedented ego and unleashing disastrous traits capable of denting the University's image beyond a redeemable level.

This time, maliciously, they claimed the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, was directly responsible for their arrest, and they were subsequently detained on his instructions. Unfortunately, despite being renowned as a union whose members are all senior staff and predominantly dominated by University graduates, it's ridiculous for its leadership to fabricate malicious narratives while intentionally twisting the actual happenings - just to suit their own bias. How could a Vice-Chancellor possibly order the Commissioner of Police to arrest and detain a civilian who hasn't acted like a rogue or participated in incriminating acts? It's very unbelievable for the leadership of FUOYE SSANU led by Faleye Ben, and ably supported by his EKSU counterpart, Comrade Dayo Aguda, to instigate a media traffic purportedly designed to gain public sympathy, all in a bid to avoid being held accountable for their actions and inactions.

It is pertinent to note that we are in the 21st century, thus, some ethical standards and conventional principles are expected to be sacrosanct in a university system. Sadly, more often than usual, Ben Faleye and his cohorts masquerading as unionists in FUOYE derive pleasure in hiding under the guise of "fighting for SSANU members". Routinely, they are involved in disturbing and damaging activities, many of which continue to bring the name of the institution into disrepute.

For all its academic exploits and global recognition, Ben Faleye and his executives have consistently ensured FUOYE's positive achievements never mattered, and do not deserve public acknowledgement and media attention. Contrarily, they revel in causing avoidable crises and creating an anarchic environment where staff and students cannot peacefully deem a safe haven going forward.

From all indications, particularly after a series of recent events, it's now glaring that the leadership of SSANU in FUOYE are desperate to accomplish a sinister mission, premeditatedly birthed by some unscrupulous elements within its hierarchy, with a primary purpose to destabilize the peace and tranquility the University has been enjoying ever since Prof. Fasina assumed office as the Vice-Chancellor in 2021.

Onlookers can now perceive that the recent attack on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, by Ben Faleye and other garrulous individuals cannot be justified using any rational yardstick. The attack, therefore, can be said to be a vendetta mission taken too far, all for personal aggrandizement and glorification, and without justifying the culpability of the Vice-Chancellor they've collectively decided to humiliate, disgrace, implicate, and destroy.

RECENT EVENT AT FASINA'S RESUMPTION FROM LEAVE

It is worthy of mention to reference the fact that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, proceeded on his accumulated leave on April 14, 2025. The leave was scheduled to last for six consecutive months. While on leave, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, acted in his place. On October 14, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor's leave was terminated, and his resumption was imminent. He did. A day before his resumption, the University's Registrar released a memo to the University community, summoning all staff to a meeting at the instance of the chairman of the University's Governing Council. The meeting was scheduled to be held the following day, which coincidentally was the day Professor Fasina was to resume.

After the Vice-Chancellor had been welcomed by hundreds of staff and students, and in a frenzy mood which sent an ecstatic message to all and sundry that he's the man of the people and was sorely missed whilst on leave, he proceeded to the venue of the meeting as organized by the Council chairman, Senator Ndoma Egba (SAN). The chairman was unavoidably absent at the meeting but thoughtfully sent a representative. Other notable council representatives (both internal and external) were also in attendance. Also, there were a plethora of security architectures on ground for maximum safety of lives and properties owing to the earlier threats of unleashing attacks by these elements.

The meeting was going smoothly and hitch-free until it was time for the Vice-Chancellor to read his speech. Suddenly, from nowhere, Ben Faleye and his executives emanated from where they were strategically positioned, and they started unleashing derogatory statements at the Vice-Chancellor. Momentarily, everyone in the hall was gobsmacked as they practically prohibited the Vice-Chancellor from reading his speech. They took their display of shame to another level when they started approaching the Vice-Chancellor who was on the high table. Verbal attacks were unleashed at the Vice-Chancellor in a manner never witnessed before in the history of any university in Nigeria. Were it not for the presence and the resilience of the gallant officers, they would have succeeded in carrying out their catastrophic missions on the Vice-Chancellor. It took an extra effort from the securities before the Vice-Chancellor could escape from the venue unhurt. He could have been lynched

For whatsoever reason, Ben Faleye and his partners in crime ensured the glittering atmosphere became a sight of embarrassment and a show of ignominy. Despite their unholy anger and a plethora of uncouth words thrown at the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina was never deterred from expressing his delight upon resuming office. He appreciated the principal officers, staff, and students in the University for keeping the flag flying when he was away. He reassured everyone of his unflinching commitment to the growth of the University, welfare of staff and students, and his unwavering dedication to the success of all.

Specifically, he addressed the issue of relocation allowance that had been pending since he went on leave. He emphatically stated that the second tranche would be paid before the end of the day. He didn't disappoint. Reliably, it was confirmed that staff had started receiving alerts before leaving the venue of the meeting.

Unfortunately, Ben and his cohorts expected their actions not to attract any form of consequences. As usual, they expected to be bigger than the University Management, and this time around, they took one step further after they humiliated the Council chairman who summoned the meeting. Despite knowing their action is tantamount to insubordination, an egregious act deemed a gross misconduct in accordance with the University's Condition of Service, they expected to go unpunished because they perceive themselves to be untouchable regardless of their wrongdoings.

Now, the question is: would any Vice-Chancellor in Nigeria have tolerated the insults and the zenith of humiliation Prof. Fasina was subjected to? No Vice-Chancellor would hesitate to report to the relevant authorities for them to be invited for questioning, lest a worse situation might unfold in the nearest future owing to the fact that a bad antecedent had been established. That was exactly what the Vice-Chancellor and the University's Chief Security Officer (CSO) did. Worse still or elsewhere, a ruthless Vice-Chancellor would have dealt with them mercilessly. Some Vice-Chancellors could have considered the option of proscribing the union while others could have subjected Ben and his cohorts to disciplinary actions capable of denting their careers as federal workers. Out of sheer benevolence, the Vice-Chancellor decided to consider a civil option. The case was reported to the relevant authorities, and the pseudo-unionists were subsequently invited for "questioning".

Unverified reports had it that on getting to the Office of the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti state, instead of showing cooperation and allowing the interrogations to be done in a seamless and civil manner, Ben and his people decided to be unnecessarily difficult and started demonstrating their unruly traits. By doing so, they proved to the Commissioner of Police that they weren't for peace talks. Allegedly, they were reported to have thrown tantrums at the senior officers, all in a bid aimed at awakening the anger of the Police. Their atrocious plan worked like magic. Apparently, the police got tired at some point and decided they couldn't tolerate their excesses henceforth. The Commissioner of Police ordered them to be put behind bars after realizing they weren't ready to allow peace to reign in FUOYE.

ARREST SAGA AND MISLEADING INFORMATION AIMED AT DENIGRATING THE VICE-CHANCELLOR, PROF. FASINA

Contrary to some virulent publications, many of which have accused the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, of ordering the arrest of Ben Faleye and his accomplices, it can be said that those misleading informations are one of the shenanigans usually used by the agents of calamity to disrupt peace within the FUOYE community. There was no way the Vice-Chancellor could have ordered their arrest because it was not within his prerogative to do so. Instead of coming out of their shells to tell the whole world that their actions at the Police Headquarters principally facilitated their being detained, they mischievously decided to spare who they had personal issues with, only to start singing Prof. Fasina's name on different social media platforms like the national anthem.

For the sake of clarity, the Vice-Chancellor never ordered anyone to be arrested or detained. They were only summoned for "questioning". But, as it stands, they see the event as a golden opportunity to nail the Vice-Chancellor to the cross and paint him black to the global world. After they had failed on numerous occasions trying to implicate the Vice-Chancellor by spreading blatant lies and publishing misleading informations, they probably felt they could also use propaganda to ensure Prof. Fasina is forced to relinquish his seat as the Vice-Chancellor. One should then wonder why all they started clamouring for after they were released was "Fasina must go". They rushed to grant a press conference, and from everything said, one doesn't have to be an alien or a seer before knowing they are only on a mission afterall, and they were more than ready to actualize the mission by all available means possible.

It's therefore not surprising seeing them bombarding the media space with fallacious stories after they were released. They went as far as orchestrating a non-existent tale, claiming the Vice-Chancellor wants to disrupt the forthcoming election in Ekiti state, and also hell-bent on destabilizing the peace being enjoyed by the citizens of Ekiti state. How cantankerous is that!. What's the correlation between the subject matter and Ekiti state election?. If not for hidden agenda preconceived ab initio, should any sane and rational-thinking individual come up with such an insinuation?. What power or influence does the Vice-Chancellor has to influence or disrupt the election?.

The general public is hereby advised to disregard malicious narratives by Ben Faleye and his cohorts, many of which are being packaged as the true happenings regarding what happened at the police station. A true reflection of the incidence lies in ensuring an unbiased juxtaposition of verifiable facts, figures, and evidences. Their actions are politically motivated, and they see the Vice-Chancellor as the only obstacle trying to prevent their political hegemony from having a taste of the coveted seat they long to occupy. The question is, there are basically five staff unions domiciled in FUOYE. Why only SSANU all the time?

‘Emi Lókàn’ statement, a Prayer, Not Entitlement — Adelabu Clarifies (VIDEO)

The Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant for the 2027 elections in Oyo State, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, has clarified that his popular “It’s my turn” statement, which has gone viral online, was not made in the spirit of entitlement but as a prayerful wish for electoral success.

Adelabu made the clarification on Friday evening during a meeting with members of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) and journalists from broadcast, online, and print media at his country home in Iyaganku, Ibadan.

Addressing speculations that his slogan signaled an early campaign in violation of electoral guidelines, Adelabu dismissed the claims, explaining that he was only engaging with APC members across the state to reconcile party differences and reenergize the grassroots.

“I have not started any campaign as being speculated. What I am doing is reaching out to our party members who have long missed the presence of political leadership. We are reconciling factions, strengthening relationships, and supporting them with the little resources we can afford,” he said.

The minister explained that the “Èmi Lókàn” (It’s my turn) statement was made during one of his visits to Oke-Ogun and was simply an expression of hope rather than arrogance or entitlement.

“I said ‘It’s my turn’ out of good wishes for myself, not as a declaration of entitlement as some people are suggesting. It was more of a prayer that, by God’s grace, I will be the lucky winner in 2027,” Adelabu stated.

He called for unity within the APC, urging members to work together to reclaim Oyo State in the next general elections.

PoliticsI Remain In PDP, Back Amupitan As INEC Chairman — Senator Seriake Dickson by Spectators(op): 9:31pm On Oct 15, 2025
I REMAIN IN PDP – Sen Dickson
*Backs Choice of Amupitan as INEC Chairman

Today, I addressed some members of the media and the Senate Press Corps on my views about the President’s nomination of Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN, as INEC Chairman. Everyone knows that the President has forwarded the name to the Senate, which has been read and referred accordingly, after approval by the National Council of State.

My views about the impartiality of INEC officials are well known, and that is the way it should be. I have listened to a number of commentators and made some inquiries, and I told journalists that, on the basis of the available evidence and facts, I will be voting to confirm or support the nomination of Professor Amupitan.

As a member of the Committee on Electoral Matters, I am aware of the controversies about his alleged membership of the President's legal team in the last election petitions. I have made a lot of inquiries, and I have been told that the nominee was not a member of the President's legal team, and that the name is being confused with another professor — Professor Osipitan — also a Professor of Law, but in Lagos, not the nominee, who is a Professor of Law in UNIJOS, although the names appear similar.

While requiring impartiality of nominees, as we have established, in the case of professionals, we should look beyond evidence of professional engagement or involvement and probe to discover partisan or political involvement. As lawyers, by their own professional calling and ethos, they are duty-bound to accept briefs from persons and parties who retain their services and are not tied to any particular politician or political party.

But in this case, what has been shown so far establishes that he wasn't a member of the President's legal team. Even if it were so, I would still have required further evidence of political or partisan involvement, in a political sense, not professionally. We can't confine professionals like lawyers and doctors from attending to any set of politicians or political parties.

Furthermore, I consider refreshing the nomination of a Professor of Law of his standing, who is also, for the first time, a Senior Advocate appointed into this office at this critical period. While being a professor is evidence of scholarship, but may not be enough to speak for integrity, I believe that the additional consideration of being a Senior Advocate — the first in our history — speaks a lot. It gives an opportunity for the nominee, when confirmed, to be alive to the demands and to be alive to his place in history. And I believe he should be conscious of the judgment of men and God, and also of posterity.

Also today, I have been bombarded since morning when the news broke of the defection of the Governor of my state, His Excellency Senator Duoye Diri, who said he resigned from the PDP with his executives and 14 members of the PDP, out of the 17 PDP-elected members of the State House of Assembly. It is a major development in the politics of our state.

Our state, which has been in the PDP since 1999 till date, is now midway being donated to the APC free of charge. I've told all those who have been bombarding me with questions that I am not moving. I am still in the PDP. My life and values about constancy, consistency, principles, honour, and loyalty to people and causes have not changed.

I, more than anyone, since we lost in the 2015 presidential election, have been at the forefront, bearing the brunt in unspeakable terms of keeping the state PDP and fighting to elevate the governor and everyone else in the state to the current positions which they hold on the platform of the PDP.

It is unfortunate that my hand-picked successor, whose consideration was influenced mainly by the need to protect the values and ideals of the state and of the Ijaw Nation, sees things differently. The PDP has a special place in the history of Bayelsa, the Ijaw Nation, and the Niger Delta, and all so-called minorities and majority groups in Nigeria, as well as all faiths, because it is an inclusive platform.

The PDP gave my people an opportunity to be a Vice President, an Acting President, and a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. And I branded it, since 2015, as Governor, the party of the Ijaw Nation — the same way I branded Bayelsa the Jerusalem of the Ijaw Nation.

I believe that I, and other leaders and all products of the PDP, of Bayelsa and the Ijaw Nation, have a duty to show loyalty and steadfastness to the PDP to the very end.

I'm aware of the challenges in the party caused by the governors — the lack of leadership and focus of the governors and the members of the Working Committee who decided to tear the party to pieces on irrelevant issues, even up till now. But I believe that captains who are truly deserving of their ranks are the last to bail out. Any captain or pilot deserving of his rank and place must do everything to salvage a troubled ship or craft and must be the last to bail out. I believe that time has not come.

This was why, when the PDP lost in 2015, I devoted a lot of time as Chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee, working with others to galvanize and reposition the party and all governors and leaders. We stood our ground to reorganize and save the party and position it for the 2019 election, which we believe we won.

To be fair to the Governor, he consulted me, and we have discussed several times, and on each occasion, I told him my position, based on my principles and values, which he knows. And these are the same values that I had in mind when I supported him above other equally worthy contestants, because of our collective involvement in the Ijaw movement and the Niger Delta struggle. His area, the smallest local government, had not produced a governor before, and he has been a part of my team since 2012.

It is unfortunate that he has taken this step, which he is at liberty to take. As I said, these days, you don't know what is pursuing most of these governors and leaders defecting to the APC, or what they are pursuing. I wish him the best of luck.

I use this opportunity to call on all in Bayelsa to be calm and go about the politicking that will unfold from now till the 2027 elections peacefully. Even in the face of a crippling recession and an unprecedented federally backed opposition subversion, I did a lot to build peace and stability, and to take the state away from criminality and violence. And this Governor, to his credit, is also building on that foundation.

I enjoin all not to hide under the politicking that this will generate to undermine the peace that we have secured in Bayelsa for over 15 years. It is on account of my commitment to peace that, since leaving government, I have not made any comment, nor have I behaved as a godfather — putting pressure or even making demands or interfering — and that has brought us thus far, showing maturity and tolerance to this level.

I assure everyone in Bayelsa that I will continue to do that, even in this situation moving forward.

I commend the loyalty and steadfastness of all officials and leaders in the state who have decided to keep faith with the PDP in this trying time. I also commend the abiding loyalty of the people who, we know, constitute the organic membership and strength that the PDP has always enjoyed.

I will consult with other leaders of the party to begin the process of repositioning the PDP as the opposition that we have suddenly become.

HSD.

FUOYE: We won’t allow trouble makers to disrupt peace on our campus - NANS

....they tell aggrieved SSANU leadership to resign, as Fasina resumes office

By Oluwadare Taiwo

A huge crowd of stakeholders comprising students, alumni members and staff members of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) welcomed the substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University on Tuesday as he resumed his lawful duty after a six month accumulated research leave. Stakeholders especially the students and union leaders of NASU, NAAT and a large number of SSANU members sued for peace, saying it is only when peace reigns that Prof. Fasina would be able to deliver more developmental projects for the University.

Speaking warmly about the resumption of Prof. Fasina, President of FUOYE Alumni association, Mr.Arogundade Temitope, said the Vice-chancellor has been greatly missed for his great works as the Chief Executive officer of the University..
"We are glad to welcome Prof. Fasina back to his lawful duty after a six-month leave. This man has performed admirably well before he went on leave and we are assured that he will bring more development to the University now that he is back. Prof. Fasina is an enigma and that is why you have seen a huge members of staff, students and alumin members turned out in hundreds to welcome him back today. At this point, we appeal for peace. Let there be peace on the campus.

For Comrade Owolabi Taiwo, Vice- President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South West zone, peace on FUOYE campus is non-negotiable as Prof. Fasina resumes. He warned those who wish to forment trouble, especially some few members of SSANU to resign their appointment immediately and stop being trouble some.
"This is our University and what ever happens on this campus, the student body is the greatest stakeholders and we suffer most in any mishap. We don't want some union leader with selfish interests to disrupt our academic calendar and jeopardize our future. We will resist any attempt to disrupt the peace that we are enjoying under Prof. Fasina. Prof. Fasina has been a great leader and caring father to the students. We love him for his great works and we would not allow any selfish union leader to disrupt his fruitful tenure.," Owolabi said.

Speaking in the same vein, both the NASU and NAAT chairmen, Comrade Ayeni Abraham and Comrade Babafemi Olusola, who spoke to newsmen on the reason why they chose to turn out in large numbers said that the welfare of their union members are germane to them and they trust that Prof. Fasina is up to the task.

Top ranking members of SSANU , Mr
Akinrope Olufemi and Owonsaye Wale urged the national body of SSANU to wade into the crisis rocking the Union's local body in FUOYE. They alleged that the current leadership of SSANU in FUOYE have compromised the general interests of the members for their selfish interests. They said over 50 members of SSANU in FUOYE have petitioned the national and South west zonal body for several months and intimated them about the selfish agenda of the leadership of the union in FUOYE but the national leaders are yet to address such germane issues.

Prof. Fasina, who expressed great pleasure at the large crowd of staff, students and Alumni members who welcomed him, pledged to continue his good works for the University. Sueing for peace, he said he has barely four months more to stay to end his tenure and he would concentrate on consolidating his milestone achievements for the past four years and seven months. He assured both students and staff members of more welfare packages, infrastructural development among other great works of peace is allowed on the campus.
Asked about the on going VCship race to usher in his successor in few months, he said though he has no power over the new helmsman election as he is just a member of the Council of the University. He however, expressed his confidence in the Council members to elect a new and capable successor who would carry on the great works he has been doing for the University.

FUOYE: On SSANU’s Excesses and Fasina’s non-negotiable Return

FUOYE: On SSANU's Excesses and Fasina's non-negotiable Return

By Tope Alade

Earlier this morning we read a piece entitled: "UPDATED: ASUU, NANT say no objection to FUOYE VC’s return, as SSANU kicks", from an online news outlet, Devreporting, and we were greatly disappointed after reading some statement credited to one Abdussobur Salaam, identified as the National Vice President, SSANU, who was quoted to have allegedly said the university should be prepared for whatever consequences the vice-chancellor’s resumption brings!

One wonders what exactly could be running through the mind of this Abdussobur when he uttered such unfortunate statement! And this calls to question what nature of leadership that union, SSANU, is having. A trade union primarily exists to protect the interest of its members and in doing this, it must be civil and lawful in all its dealings.

Another germane ethical practice of unionism is that as a leader, or even a member, you cannot allow your personal/selfish interest to override the general interest and well being of your union. However, It is unfortunate that Abdussobur, by uttering such uncouth statement about the return of Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has betrayed what we long suspected about him and his co-travellers on this matter regarding FUOYE, that he is allowing his personal ego, selfish and questionable desires/interests to override those of his members in the union.

Come to think of it, how can a union of so called senior staff members, dissipate so much energy on practicing illegality on inconsequential matters that have nothing to do with the welfare or well being of its members? On the issue of alleged sexual harrasment of Mrs. Folasade Adebayo, not even SSANU as local branch nor Mrs. Adebayo herself has a written petition submitted officially to the University's authority over the matter ever since. What has been adequately gathered on the issue is that SSANU in a version of a purported Communique of its local branch's November 2024's Congress, made available to some section of the online news outlets, leveled allegation of sexual harrasment against Prof. Fasina. The content of that ill-fated Communique is curiously different from another version of same SSANU FUOYE Congress which the union submitted to the University authorities. The second one, submitted to the University authorities, has no such allegation of sexual harrasment against Prof. Fasina as contained in the version the same union made available to newsmen. It was obviously a treachery of the utmost evil and devilish intentions!
However, responding to the media trial and blackmail against Prof.
Fasina and the University, the Governing Council, under the dutiful Senator Ndoma Egba, constituted a probe panel which investigated the allegation of sexual harrasment. The report exonerated Prof. Fasina on salient grounds that no incontrovertible evidence whatsoever, had been provided to prove that Prof. Fasina committed the act: Neither the illegal secret recording of the VC allegedly provided to the media by Mrs. Adebayo nor the report of an earlier police investigation of the same allegation pronounced Prof. Fasina guilty of such allegation. What remains truthful is that Mrs. Adebayo and her co-travellers in SSANU committed gross misconduct against the University by externalizing falsehood and bringing the image of the University to disrepute in the process. They were however, granted mercy in the spirit of allowing peace to prevail, and directed to tender apology in that direction. It was also discovered that Mrs. Adebayo had made failed attempts to blackmail Prof. Fasina to make her substantive Director of Works of the University after her tenure as Acting Director ends. An attempt she made with recordings of their personal and friendly conversations in 2023 but released to the media in 2025 to spread false allegation of sexual harrasment.

Prof. Fasina proceeded on a six month leave as duly allowed by the University Council on April 14, 2025 and he is due to return to complete his five-year tenure on October 14, 2025. The astute Administrator and scholar would just be spending less than six more months to complete his fruitful and highly impactful tenure on February 11, 2026, but political hyenas masquerading as union leaders like Abdussobur would not let peace reign. They want to cause chaos because their ill-mannered, ill-conceived evil plots against the system have all failed.

The recent report which made public Abdussobur 's evil intentions for FUOYE, reads in part: "Mr Salaam, who doubles as the Chairman of the Western Zone of the union, said: “We know why he left; it was to allow the heat to simmer, so that we could forget the circumstances that led to his exit. Would it not have been proper to just continue to stay away from the office to allow peace to continue to reign on the campus? Why wake a sleeping dog?

“The truth is that SSANU cannot ask him not to resume, but we are saying
cannot ask him not to resume, but we are saying he should not resume on moral grounds.”

The pertinent question to ask Mr. Salaam or Abdussobur is what moral ground is he talking about? Does one subvert what is legitimate on some inconsequential grounds some egocentric and selfish trouble maker has tagged "moral"?.

Why does he and his co-travellers of trouble makers, immoral and ill-mannered union leaders want Prof. Fasina to stay away from his lawful duty ?. Whose script is this confused union leader acting?: Those who want to grab power by all means in FUOYE or those blackmailing the University and its principal officers for selfish and questionable interests?.

What peace would Prof. Fasina 's come back threaten?: That of the University which Fasina's impactful tenure has tremendously transformed or that of the enemies of progress like Abdussobur and his co-travellers formenting trouble to destabilize the system over falsehood?

Isn't Abdussobur and his co-travellers the ones who have been disrupting the peaceful co-existence of the FUOYE University community with so many laughable and inconsistent union activities of SSANU? The foregoing and many more are begging for answers from this so called union leader Salaam.

But we must thank this Abdussobur for making this careless statement at this material time. His uncouth words are very useful tips for the security operatives to take very careful note of. What Abdussobur actually means is that himself and his co-travellers would likely forment trouble again when Prof. Fasina resumes his lawful duty on October 14, 2025 and the security operatives should be at alert on this. Also, the students of FUOYE, whose bright future would most likely be jeopardized, if unhealthy union activities from SSANU in FUOYE is allowed, must also be at alert, primarily and aggressively to prevent these troublesome characters from causing more chaos in the system.
All other union bodies in the University, both academic and non-academic, according to Devreporting's publication, have no problem with Prof. Fasina returning to complete his impactful tenure, except the troublesome SSANU. This is indeed an unfortunate development for SSANU as a union in the system.

Unfortunately for Abdussobur and his co-travellers, all issues relating to allegation of sexual harrasment are in court and must be handled in a civil way by all concerned stakeholders. There cannot be any foolish and ill-mannered protest on campus on such matter, neither could any media outlets entertain any press statement agitating for any action on such matter. Whoever makes such stupid mistake risk imprisonment!, however highly placed he or she thinks himself or herself to be. Unionism shouldn't be to settle personal scores, neither should it be to fortify/promote political vendetta or witch-hunt. SSANU's excessive, illegal and unhealthy involvement in this matter is becoming not only embarrassing for many of its members, but also laughable and irritating to many Nigerians and the global community. If two parties are dragging an issue and one of the parties has brought the issue before the Law court (...as Prof. Fasina has done by dragging Mrs. Adebayo and some recalcitrant media outlets to Court over the allegation), Nigeria's constitution demands that no party should hit the polity over such issue again while the court is still deciding on it. Doing such is subjudice as the culprit in such case risks imprisonment. Abdussobur and his co-travellers in chaos making against FUOYE and Fasina should be warned! A word, as the African sagely saying admonishes, is enough for the wise.

Revered Father Caught on Camera Wooing Lady Into Sexual Relationship (WATCH)

A Catholic Reverend Father has been caught on camera allegedly attempting to woo a young lady into a sexual relationship, offering her large sums of money to become his partner despite his vow of celibacy.

The video, which is currently trending on social media, shows the clergyman in a conversation with the unidentified lady, making repeated attempts to persuade her to become his girlfriend or connect him with someone willing to do so.

In the footage, the priest is heard saying:

> “We are not allowed to marry and we are not allowed to keep a girlfriend. But we are human beings. Can you connect with somebody you know that you think you can? I will pay you for that.”

When the lady declined, the Reverend Father continued, asking:

> “Can’t you be my girlfriend? You know it will not stop you from having a boyfriend outside because you know I’m not going to marry you. Why are you saying no?”

He then allegedly offered her ₦500,000, later increasing the sum to ₦1 million, apparently in a bid to convince her to agree to his request. Despite his pleas, the young woman consistently refused, insisting she did not want a relationship with the clergyman.

At one point, the priest is heard saying:

> “I believe you are not going to disclose this to anybody. Seal it.”

The video has sparked widespread outrage online, with many Nigerians expressing disappointment and shock over the priest’s conduct. Several commenters have called for the Catholic Church authorities to investigate the incident and take appropriate action if the allegations are confirmed.

Olubadan Coronation: True story behind  ‘Werey lafin wo werey’ by Taiye Currency (VIDEO)

New reporting by 9jaspectators has lifted the veil on the story behind the now-trending lyric “Werey lafin wo werey” (roughly: “We use madness to handle madness”) sung by Fuji star Alhaji Taiye Adebisi, aka Currency, during the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja.

According to a source close to the events, Alhaji Tiri Leather — another prominent Ibadan Fuji artist — was originally invited to perform at the coronation. The insider, who asked to remain anonymous, said Currency learned of the invitation and insisted he was the more appropriate performer because of his personal closeness to the newly crowned monarch.

“The organisers bowed to Currency’s pressure and invited him in place of Tiri Leather,” the source said. It was, the source added, the substitution that inspired Currency’s lyric: “Werey lafin wo werey, to ba fe mi laya; mo ma gba ooo; sugbon to ba gba se mi; mo ma ja ooo” — translated in the source’s words as: “We use madness to handle madness. If you take my wife, no problem; but if you take my job, we will fight.”

RomanceThe Psychology Of Love And Why Premarital Sex Threatens Marital Stability by Spectators(op): 5:10am On Sep 25, 2025
The Psychology of Love and Why Premarital Sex Threatens Marital Stability

By Taiwo Oluwadare

Love can best be described as a seed planted in the soil of the human heart. For this seed to flourish, it requires consistent nourishment. Psychologists refer to these nutrients as emotional needs—the essential factors that create fulfillment, happiness, and security in human relationships.

Emotional needs are not uniform; they vary across individuals. For some, it is affection and care; for others, it is validation, recognition, or the assurance of stability. Still, others crave freedom, belonging, respect, or opportunities for personal growth. What people often call “love at first sight” is, in reality, the instinctive recognition of some of these emotional needs in a potential partner. Yet, many such early attractions eventually collapse because the relationship fails to continuously supply the emotional resources required to keep love alive.

This is why the processes of dating and courtship hold great social value. They are not just rituals but mechanisms for testing compatibility, ensuring that partners can meet each other’s emotional and psychological needs before making lifelong commitments. Skipping this phase often leads to mismatched expectations, disappointment, and instability in marriage.

But beyond these emotional foundations lies a subject that is both biological and deeply social: sex. While love and sex are distinct, sex is undeniably one of the emotional needs that bonds partners together. Multiple sociological studies have found strong correlations between sexual history and marital satisfaction. Research published in journals of family psychology, for instance, suggests that individuals with fewer premarital sexual partners report higher levels of trust, stability, and long-term happiness in marriage.

One explanation is psychological conditioning. For someone whose only sexual experience comes from their spouse, satisfaction is shaped by exclusivity. Their expectations are rooted in a single partner, which fosters loyalty and contentment. Conversely, those with multiple prior sexual partners may unconsciously compare experiences, sometimes leading to dissatisfaction or the search for external validation through infidelity.

This insight also explains why many cultures and religions across history have discouraged premarital sex. Beyond moral teachings, these restrictions have served a sociological function: preserving family stability and reducing the likelihood of broken marriages. In societies where marital bonds remain strong, children and communities often enjoy greater stability as well.

The lesson for today’s generation is clear. While adults who have already had diverse experiences may find it difficult to rewrite their past, we can consciously equip younger generations with healthier orientations. It is not about shame but about building marriages that can withstand the test of time by grounding love in both emotional and psychological stability.

Love, like a seed, must be nurtured. Emotional needs provide its water and sunlight. Courtship tests the soil in which it is planted. And sexual discipline ensures that the roots remain strong. If society is to rebuild marriages that endure, then these truths must be acknowledged, taught, and lived.

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to expose her husband after discovering, through hidden CCTV cameras, that he was allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with their two housemaids.

The woman, who has been married for six years without children, explained that her demanding work schedule made it difficult to manage domestic chores. To ease the burden, she and her husband employed two young housemaids, aged 21 and 23, to handle cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other household responsibilities.

However, she said she noticed a sudden change in the attitude of the maids, who began disrespecting her and disregarding instructions. According to her, attempts to complain to her husband were dismissed, as he insisted she was “overreacting.”

Troubled by the situation, the woman confided in her sister, who advised her to install hidden CCTV cameras around the house. Initially reluctant, she eventually had the cameras installed while her husband was away.

Days later, following another heated argument with one of the housemaids in her husband’s presence, the woman reviewed the CCTV footage and was shocked by what she saw. According to her, the recordings allegedly captured her husband engaging in sexual activity with the two maids in multiple locations around the house, including the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom.

In her social media post, the distraught wife said she has kept the discovery to herself for a week and has not confronted her husband. She is now seeking advice from the public on how best to handle the situation.

FUOYE CRISIS: Investigation exposes how a clique of failed vcship aspirants holds the University hostage (VIDEO)

By SANNI ZAKARI

The recent and perhaps, likely upcoming series of unhealthy development in protests and agitations at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has some political undercurrents: A through investigation has exposed these underhand dealings.

The familiar script is being played: unions agitating, allegations flying, and the serene academic environment threatened. However, a closer look beneath the surface of this latest "crisis" reveals a sordid tale of vested interests, bitter losers, and a desperate attempt to hijack the University's governance for selfish gains.
The current upheaval, championed by the non-academic staff unions, is not an organic outcry from a wronged workforce. It is a carefully orchestrated smear campaign, the brainchild of a tiny clique of so-called 'Concerned Senate Members'. These members, who have failed in their political ambitions within the University, are now using their positions to further their personal agendas, rather than the welfare of the staff.
At the heart of this chaos is the impending process for the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor. The University Governing Council, following the explicit directives of the Honourable Minister of Education, has set forth clear, transparent criteria for the role. It appears these conditions have disqualified the ambitions of this vocal minority. Unable to compete on merit and terrified of a level playing field, they have resorted to their oldest trick: causing chaos to disrupt a process that does not favour them.
A credible investigative media report in Nigerian Tribune on page 28 and 29 exposed their modus operandi as far back as August 27th, 2025, in a publication titled "THE FUOYE FILES: INVESTIGATION REVEALS THE STORY BEHIND NEGATIVE NEWS." A video later surfaced in other news media showing this group gathering in a shadowy meeting to plan an "illegal press conference." The event was tellingly branded as being for "Senate members," yet only three actual Senate members bothered to show up. Who made up the numbers? Non-academic staff union leaders! This immediately raises a critical question: WHAT IS THE BUSINESS OF NON-ACADEMIC STAFF UNION LEADERS WITH THE EXCLUSIVE DECISIONS AND PREROGATIVES OF THE University SENATE?
The answer is simple: they are being used as cannon fodder. The academic cabal, a group of influential academics, provides the script and the strategy, and the union leaders, perhaps unaware or willingly complicit, provide the loud voices and the street power to execute a plan designed solely to serve the interests of their puppeteers.
Their accusations are as hollow as their support base. They scream about a N128 million approval for the VC on leave. This has been promptly and categorically refuted by the Acting Vice-Chancellor with factual evidence. They rant about a N900 million staff quarters project, claiming money has been paid. Again, this is a blatant falsehood. No such payment has been made. These are not genuine allegations; they are fabricated soundbites designed for newspaper headlines and to create a false impression of corruption where none exists.
It is a pathetic attempt to paint the University's management and governing council with a tar of impropriety to justify their planned insurrection and force the hand of external stakeholders.
Furthermore, the staggering hypocrisy of this clique and their union foot soldiers is exposed not in their public grandstanding but in their private actions towards their own members. While they theatrically accuse the University management of financial impropriety, they are themselves guilty of a grave and verifiable injustice: the deliberate and vindictive deprivation of legitimate "earned allowances" released by the Federal Government for all staff.
Credible reports indicate that the union leadership, in a blatant act of tyranny, has selectively denied these lawful payments to members they perceived as disloyal or insufficiently supportive of their illicit agenda. These 'earned allowances' are a significant part of the staff's income, and their deprivation has caused financial hardship. Hardworking, rank-and-file staff of FUOYE have been forced to forfeit their rightful earnings not due to any policy of the University administration or President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but at the whims of a few union bosses playing a cruel game of reward and punishment. This is not governance; it is gangsterism. These are not champions of the workforce; they are its oppressors, willingly withholding bread from the mouths of their colleagues to maintain a stranglehold on power and silence dissent.
This cruel manipulation of staff welfare reveals the true character of the agitation. It is therefore the height of irony for these very individuals to posture as crusaders against corruption and mismanagement. The question that demands an immediate answer is not the one they are shouting in the streets, but the one they are desperately trying to silence: Where is the money meant for the deprived staff?
The call for a probe must be redirected. Instead of their baseless cries against a University management operating with transparency under regulatory guidelines, it is this union leadership that should be thoroughly investigated and called to account. They must be questioned for embezzling the goodwill of their members and for financially suffocating hardworking FUOYE staff to fund a selfish political war they have no business waging.
It is a pathetic attempt to paint the University's management and governing council with a tar of impropriety to justify their planned insurrection and force the hand of external stakeholders.
The authorities must not stand by while this charade continues. The Governing Council and the Federal Ministry of Education must call these non-academic union leaders to order. They must be made to understand that they are being manipulated into destabilizing their own place of work for the benefit of a few individuals still smarting from their political irrelevance.
The staff of FUOYE, the students who seek quality education, and the public deserve better than this theatre of the absurd. The process for appointing a new VC must continue unhindered, based on merit and the guidelines set by the regulatory authorities. The future of FUOYE must not be held hostage by a clique of failed aspirants and their willing tools in the unions. It is time for the silent majority of dedicated staff and scholars at FUOYE to stand up and reject this politics of blackmail and destruction!

VIDEO: Man Pays ₦50,000 to Rescue Pregnant Sea Turtle, Releases It Back Into Ocean After Days Without Food

A Nigerian man has captured hearts after paying ₦50,000 to secure the release of a sea turtle that had been captured and held without food or water for three days.

The turtle, believed to have come ashore to nest, was caught by some men who reportedly demanded as much as ₦500,000 for its release. After pleading with them, the rescuer was able to negotiate the release for ₦50,000, ensuring the distressed animal was returned safely to its natural habitat.

Narrating the experience, he said he was deeply moved by the turtle’s condition. “That’s a sea turtle. It was captured four nights ago. When I saw it, I felt so bad for it. They refused to let it go and said they would sell it for ₦500,000. I couldn’t stand it. I’m sure it’s pregnant. For three days, it never ate anything. I had to plead and finally paid ₦50,000 to set it free.”

Video of the emotional moment showed the exhausted turtle struggling as it made its way back into the ocean, pausing to rest at intervals before eventually swimming into the waves. Concerned about predators, the group helped carry the turtle closer to the shore to aid its safe return.

The rescuer admitted he was overwhelmed by emotion as he watched the sea turtle finally reclaim its freedom. “When it swam away, I felt so emotional. I’m glad I did this. My day was made. I was so happy.”

VIDEO: TikToker Who Posted False HIV Claim About Actress Dayo Amusa Recounts Ordeal in Panti Cell

Popular TikTok personality, Olas, has narrated his harrowing experience inside a police detention cell at Yaba Panti, Lagos, after being arrested for falsely claiming that Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa was HIV positive.

According to Olas, he was locked up for two days, describing the incident as the worst experience of his life since the death of his mother.

“When I entered the cell, one of the rugged-looking guys told me to prostrate and greet them. The cell had no furniture, only four pit latrines and an uncovered window where mosquitoes kept entering,” he recounted.

Olas said he was horrified by the state of the latrines, which had no doors separating them from the sleeping area, leaving inmates to live with the stench.

“They told me I was lucky because that was the best cell. If it had been the second cell, I would have been beaten because there was no camera or light there,” he explained.

The TikToker revealed that he shared the cell with about 60 other inmates, who claimed it was the same facility where singer Naira Marley was once detained. He noted that while inmates slept on cold tiles, only the cell leaders had access to bunk beds.

Fortunately, Olas was recognized by one of the cell leaders, who followed him on TikTok. The leader offered him protection and gave him a bunk to sleep on, sparing him from the maltreatment usually meted out to newcomers.

Expressing gratitude to Dayo Amusa for forgiving him, Olas admitted that her decision to drop the matter saved him from prolonged detention.

“I want to thank Aunty Dayo Amusa for forgiving me. If not that she changed her mind, I would have been there for a long time. I don’t pray to ever sleep in a cell again,” he said.

According to the distraught woman, she had released her daughter to her father for the holidays, expecting her to return in time for the new school term. However, when schools resumed, she was informed that the child had fallen ill and died.

The mother said she was left in shock when she later discovered that her daughter had already been buried without her knowledge or involvement in the burial arrangements.

“I was never told my daughter was sick, neither did anyone inform me when she passed away. The most painful part is that they buried her without my consent. I did not even get the chance to see her one last time,” she lamented.

VIDEO: Mixed Reactions Trail Hilda Baci’s Jollof Rice from World’s Largest Pot

Food enthusiasts and curious onlookers who got a taste of Hilda Baci’s much-celebrated jollof rice, cooked in what has been described as the world’s largest pot, have shared mixed reviews of the historic meal.

The Guinness World Record-breaking chef, known for her culinary creativity and stamina after her marathon cook-a-thon, prepared the giant pot of rice as part of a food festival held in Lagos. Thousands of people thronged the venue, eager to witness the record attempt and get a share of the iconic dish.

While some tasters praised the effort, describing the rice as “rich, flavorful, and smoky,” others expressed disappointment, claiming the sheer scale of the cooking affected the taste.

One attendee, Chuka Eze, said:

> “It’s not every day you eat rice from a pot this big. The taste was nice, though not as spicy as I expected. Still, the experience was worth it.”

Another Lagos resident, Funmi Adewale, offered a more critical view:

> “The hype was much more than the taste. It wasn’t bad, but I’ve eaten better jollof at weddings. Maybe because it was cooked in bulk, the flavors didn’t blend well.”

However, fans of Hilda defended the chef, noting that the purpose of the event went beyond taste.

> “This wasn’t just about food; it was about history, culture, and showing that Nigerians do big things in style,” said Oluwaseun Alade, a university student who attended the event.

Despite the divided opinions on flavor, many agreed that the feat was a celebration of Nigeria’s love for jollof rice and a bold statement about the country’s culinary pride.

VIDEO: Hilda Baci Explains Weight Adjustments in World’s Largest Jollof Rice Attempt

Celebrity chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has shed light on the technical adjustments she made during her latest attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

Speaking during a press interview at the venue, Hilda explained that her initial target was to achieve between 17,000 and 18,000 kilogrammes of cooked rice, which, when combined with the pot’s weight, would have brought the total to around 20,000 kilogrammes.

However, due to the weight limitations of the crane and measuring device available—both capped at 20,000 kilogrammes—she had to cut down the quantities slightly to ensure accuracy and safety during the weighing process.

“The goal was 5,000 kilogrammes at the start, but I had to reduce by about 1,000 kilogrammes so the scale could handle it. Even with that, we still cooked 4,000 kilogrammes of rice, which is equivalent to 200 bags of rice,” Hilda explained.

She reassured Nigerians that the reduction did not affect the overall impact of the record-breaking attempt. According to her, the massive pot of jollof rice remains more than sufficient to serve an estimated 20,000 people.

“As you can see, there’s more than enough. Some of you even came with coolers,” she said jokingly, while stressing that the effort was about feeding the nation. “Gino and I are feeding the nation,” she added, referring to her brand partner.

The event drew massive crowds, with excitement and anticipation as Hilda Baci continues her record-breaking culinary journey.

HealthFGM And The Myth Of Chastity: A Tradition That Breeds The Promiscuity It Claims by Spectators(op): 3:38am On Sep 04, 2025
FGM and the Myth of Chastity: A Tradition That Breeds the Promiscuity It Claims to Prevent

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), also known as female circumcision, remains one of the most pressing health and human rights issues confronting women and girls across Africa and some parts of the Middle East and Asia. Despite decades of global advocacy and local campaigns, the harmful practice continues to thrive—largely due to myths, cultural beliefs, and misconceptions about female sexuality.

In many communities where FGM is still practiced, parents believe that cutting their daughters will preserve chastity, prevent promiscuity, and make them more desirable in marriage. The idea is rooted in the assumption that reducing a woman’s sexual pleasure will keep her faithful and morally upright.

However, health experts, researchers, and survivors have consistently debunked this belief. In fact, contrary to the cultural myth, studies have shown that FGM often contributes to greater sexual dissatisfaction, marital strife, and even the very promiscuity it claims to prevent.

Findings from health experts and testimonies of survivors reveal that women who undergo certain types of FGM—especially Type I (clitoridectomy)—often struggle to achieve sexual satisfaction. Because orgasm is delayed or difficult to attain, many affected women may find themselves seeking multiple partners in a desperate attempt to experience what their culture denied them.

“This is one of the deepest ironies of the practice,” says a Lagos-based sexual health therapist. “The community believes it curbs promiscuity, but in reality, it can increase it—because a woman who is denied natural sexual fulfillment may look elsewhere.”

Beyond sexual dissatisfaction, FGM comes with life-long health risks: severe bleeding, infections, childbirth complications, and in some cases, death. Psychologically, it leaves behind trauma, low self-esteem, and a fractured sense of identity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone FGM. Every year, millions more are at risk, despite global calls for eradication.

Some cultural defenders of FGM attempt to give it religious legitimacy. But theologians and faith leaders stress that no major religion mandates the cutting of girls. In fact, many point to scriptural references that highlight male circumcision only. For instance, the Abrahamic covenant mentions the circumcision of male children, but makes no requirement for girls.

“This is why it is critical to separate harmful tradition from divine instruction,” notes Pastor Samuel Adeyemi, a Christian cleric. “Circumcising women was never God’s command—it is man’s creation, and it destroys what God designed.”

Survivors, activists, and medical experts continue to push for stronger legislation, community education, and support systems for victims. Campaigns are ongoing in Nigeria, Kenya, Somalia, and other high-prevalence countries, but progress is uneven.

Ending FGM requires more than laws—it requires dismantling the cultural myths that sustain it. Communities must understand that true virtue is not found in mutilation, but in education, empowerment, and respect for women’s bodies.

As one survivor put it:

> “They cut me to make me faithful. But the cut did not give me faithfulness—it only gave me pain. No girl should suffer this again.”
