VIDEO: Research Links Elon Musk’s Use of “X” to Numerology and Claims of Spiritual Symbolism

In recent weeks, a growing number of researchers and spiritual commentators have raised questions about the recurring use of the letter “X” in Elon Musk’s ventures, pointing to alleged numerological and esoteric meanings tied to the symbol.

From SpaceX to X Corp (the new identity of Twitter) and even his earlier company X.com, Musk has consistently gravitated toward the letter. To many, this appears to be a branding preference. However, a section of numerologists and spiritual critics argue that the letter carries deeper symbolic implications.

According to numerology traditions, “X” is linked to the number 24 (2+4=6) or sometimes reduced to 6, which some spiritual researchers connect to themes of balance, karma, or, more controversially, associations with dark or hidden forces. Others note that in ancient symbology, “X” has been used as a marker of the unknown, secrecy, or even a crossroads between light and darkness.

Critics claim Musk’s fascination with the symbol reflects more than just innovation. Nigerian cleric and commentator, Pastor Daniel Akinwale, described the trend as “a sign of spiritual darkness cloaked in technology,” warning that “symbols carry power, and the repeated invocation of X should not be ignored.”

In contrast, some analysts dismiss these interpretations as conspiracy theories. Tech culture expert Dr. Amanda Reyes argued:

> “Musk uses ‘X’ as shorthand for the future, the unknown, and limitless possibility. Linking it to spiritual darkness is more reflective of people’s fears than his actual intent.”

Still, the debate continues online, with social media users fueling discussions on the supposed hidden meaning. Hashtags like #MuskX and #NumerologyOfX have trended in recent days, as people weigh in on whether the billionaire’s branding choices are futuristic creativity or deliberate symbolism with esoteric undertones.

Whether coincidence, preference, or something more, the letter “X” remains an enigmatic thread connecting Musk’s empire—sparking curiosity, debate, and even concern in spiritual and cultural circles.

A new video circulating online has shed light on how Jennifer’s interaction with Emmanuel, a man she met on the internet, first unfolded.

The video, shared by X user @ChuksEricE, captures Jennifer narrating that while Emmanuel lived in Abuja and she in Asaba, their connection began virtually. She said their early conversations centered on whether she would travel to meet him.

According to her, Emmanuel suddenly transferred N50,000 alongside a text message instructing her to come see him the next day.

“Out of the blue, he just sent me N50,000 and a text message saying, this is your transportation, I want to see you tomorrow,” Jennifer explained.

She added that the amount was not enough to cover her trip, leading her to ask him to consider visiting her instead.

The disclosure has since stirred mixed reactions across social media, with users debating the role of money and expectations in modern online relationships.

CultureVIDEO: Elebuibon Speaks On Who’s Supreme Between Ooni & Alaafin by Spectators(op): 11:31am On Aug 27, 2025
VIDEO: Elebuibon Speaks on Who’s Supreme Between Ooni & Alaafin

Renowned Ifa priest and cultural authority, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, has stepped into the growing controversy between the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, appealing for peace and unity among the two foremost traditional rulers in Yorubaland.

In an interview with cultural promoter Bamidele Adeyanju, popularly known as Agbaletu, Elebuibon drew from Yoruba history and Ifa divination to underscore the deep-rooted ties between Ile-Ife and Oyo. He warned against unnecessary disputes over seniority, stressing that their responsibilities should focus on peace and development rather than supremacy battles.

“If they can give room to peace, all these should not be happening,” he said. “Oranmiyan, who established Oyo, came from Ile-Ife. There is no way you can tell the history of Oyo without tracing it to Ife, and there is no way you can tell the history of Ife without mentioning Oyo.”

Taking a direct swipe at the Alaafin’s recent challenge, Elebuibon cautioned that it was unbecoming for a newly crowned monarch to stir conflict rather than pursue harmony. “Someone became a king not up to a year, not up to six months — is it trouble he ought to be causing? All that should matter to them is how there will be peace everywhere and not seniority fights,” he added.

Reinforcing his position through Yoruba oral tradition, Elebuibon chanted in Ifa language, explaining that Ile-Ife occupies an unrivalled place as the cradle of Yoruba civilisation. According to him, “Ife is the Olú (supreme ruler); no other Olú can equate the Ooni. Just as no animal can compare in size with the elephant, no throne can rival that of Ife.”

His remarks come amid escalating tensions following the Alaafin’s objection to the Ooni’s conferment of the chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland on Ibadan businessman, Dotun Sanusi. The Alaafin, who only recently ascended the throne, argued that such a pan-Yoruba honour was his exclusive prerogative. He subsequently issued a 48-hour ultimatum demanding the Ooni withdraw the title or face consequences.

In a swift dismissal, the Ooni’s spokesman, Moses Olafare, described the ultimatum as “empty” and unworthy of response. According to him, the Ooni would not dignify the Alaafin’s statement but would rather allow the public to judge the matter.

EducationThe FUOYE Files: Investigation Reveals The Story Behind Negative News (VIDEO) by Spectators(op): 10:09am On Aug 27, 2025
The FUOYE Files: Investigation Reveals the Story Behind Negative News (VIDEO)

In the wake of a pressing need to expand access to tertiary education in Nigeria, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, in 2011, established nine new federal universities. Among them was the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), conceived as a citadel of learning and a catalyst for development in the serene environs of Ekiti State.

From its humble beginnings, FUOYE embarked on a remarkable trajectory of growth. In little over a decade, it has distinguished itself as the most developed among its 2011 peers, a testament to the relentless efforts of its foundational leadership and dedicated staff. Its infrastructure expanded, academic programmes multiplied, and its student population swelled, seemingly fulfilling the promise of its establishment.

However, the period of its most rapid and "tremendous development" between 2021 and the present has paradoxically been its most turbulent. This era of visible progress has been overshadowed by a constant cloud of controversy, turning the university into a recurring headline in the national media but often for the wrong reasons.

A litany of grave allegations has been published across various platforms: accusations of manipulated recruitment processes, rule-bending to favour loyalists, and a vicious power struggle between the university's governance body and its administration. These reports have painted a picture of an institution at war with itself, where the quest for power threatens to eclipse the pursuit of academic excellence. This led to a thorough investigation and interviews of council members, management, senate members, alumni, and students of the institution.

Speaking with the chairman committee of Deans FUOYE, Prof. Babatunde Afolabi said all allegations of interference with the smooth running of the University, alongside bending the rules to favour loyalists, are mere false allegations. The erudite scholar said, contrary to the report regarding recruitment:

> “There’s no recruitment or whatsoever going on in FUOYE; what is going on is the normal annual promotion exercise”

for staff of the institution. Prof. Babatunde said as the chairman committee of Deans, the procedures for appointing the next Vice-Chancellor is within the act of the University, saying there’s no bending of rules, noting that it is clearly stated that the council chose ten years’ experience for any professor contesting for the position of Vice-Chancellor saying the Honorable minister of education gave a directive that the ten years’ experience is sacrosanct, adding that any erring university await sanction. While reacting to the position of council chairman, he said the council chairman stood his ground as a law-abiding citizen following the directives of the Honorable Minister of Education, which he threw open and every member of the governing council supported it individually, where all members accepted to choose ten years of professorial experience for the Vice-Chancellor position.

In a brief interview with the acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olubunmi Samuel Shittu, he declined speaking with the press; however, he confirmed that he has been promoting peace in FUOYE for the proper growth and development of the institution. During the cross-section interview, an effort to speak with the Registrar of the University, Mr Mufutau Ibrahim proved abortive as he declined speaking with the press, saying he doesn’t have the right to grant any interview with the press. Although on the issue of the official press release by the University to refute the claims of the report published on the website of Sahara Reporters, titled: “Nigeria’s Federal University Oye-Ekiti Pro-Chancellor, Suspended VC Accused of Manipulating Recruitment, Bending Rules to Favour Loyalists”, Mr Mufutau Ibrahim confirmed to have signed the press release, saying the press release was from the office of the registrar.

While interacting with a top management staff and member of the Senate, he confirmed that there was a senate meeting on the 5th of August, 2025, and the motions that came up was from Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun-Alli (Dean of Students’ Affairs) who said a “vote of confidence” should be passed on the Acting Vice Chancellor and senate members supported, and the second motion was that the senate has the right to inform the public about positive updates in the university. Unfortunately, the news going around was contrary to what happened in the Senate meeting. The Acting Vice Chancellor affirmed that:

> “All we want is peace in the university, while emphasizing that rancor and acrimony are inimical to the growth of any organization.”

The Professor advised all and sundry to embrace peace and let sleeping dogs lie. On the growth of FUOYE, the scholar said FUOYE is the fastest growing public university in Nigeria, with the quality of teaching and research making examples of students being taught online, accreditation of all their courses, and academic sessions were up to date. Hence, the institution should not be in the news media for negative reasons.

During an interactive discussion with the SUG President, he said there are no crises among the students, however if there is any leadership tussle, it should not affect the affairs of the university:

> “We are amazed of the negative news in the media. Instead we should trend for good reasons like scholarship, innovations and winning awards that have been recorded in the University in recent times.”

Everything is going on smoothly, examinations were conducted as at when due and the students are currently on holiday. On compromising the quality of education and value of their degree, the SUG leader said definitely it will affect their certificate, citing examples of going for interview among contemporaries from other institutions:

> “This can affect our opportunity especially when employers read news with bad image on the media. They will rather consider graduates from other institutions that are not better than us due to misrepresentation we have had all over the media.”

In an interactive session with alumni of the university, Comrade Opeyemi said the crisis may affect the alumni in the job market, given the negative image portrayed in the media. The alumni member emphasized:

> “We should not be affected.”

He added that the alumni representative has taken a bold step to meet with the management on how the management can take a definitive step against the media outlets misrepresenting the image of the institution.

A message posted on the Senate and some other university WhatsApp platforms by Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun-Alli was obtained:

> “Sequel to the senate resolution at its last meeting, I have the honour to invite all senate members: Professors, Deans and Heads of Departments to an interactive meeting on the modalities for actualisation of the second resolution. Time: 9am, Date: Tomorrow, Thursday, 14th August, 2025. Venue: Faculty of Law Auditorium. Please, be punctual!”

This investigation confirmed that the Senate members expressed their displeasure, accusing Prof. Oyedokun-Alli of breaching the University rule by calling for an unauthorized Senate Meeting and press briefing: FUOYE Act (2015) “Meetings of the Senate shall be convened by the Vice-Chancellor or, in their absence, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor.” He later issued a disclaimer on the Senate platform but not on the other platforms where he posted it:

> “DISCLAIMER!!! My attention has been drawn to the post that I erroneously sent to the Senate Platform. I deeply appreciate those who called me to the inadvertent error. First, it was never my intention to call a Senate meeting as I do not have such powers. Second, the post was actually meant for ‘Concerned Members of the Senate’. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted. Please, I, therefore, by this release, pull down the said post.”

One of the invited media agents confirmed that a press briefing was organized on behalf of the senate, but it failed because only Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun-Alli, and Prof. Sola Omotola and some non-teaching staff were met in front of the administrative building on Wednesday, 20th August 2025. The news about the failed press briefing was published on the website of the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ).

On the part of a senior Professor, member of senate and Dean of a faculty in the university, he said that Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun-Alli was circulating a document around that people should sign, that “there is a resolution” and equally Prof. Sola Omotola who is interested that the council should have reduced the number of years for the person that will qualify for the Vice Chancellor’s post and the council did not do that, saying the council just aligned with the ten years directive as recommended by the minister of education. He confirmed that Prof. Sola Omotola is not satisfied with the ten-year directive as stipulated, saying that he has advised Prof. Sola Omotola to avoid the steps he’s taking. Talking about the “concerned senate members,” he said Prof. Oyedokun-Alli and Prof. Omotola have both been the concerned senate members, adding that Prof. Oyedokun-Alli, who is not in the position to call for a senate meeting, actually did call for it, explaining that the order of calling for a senate meeting strictly lies with the Vice-chancellor or acting Vice-chancellor. He said Prof. Oyedokun-Alli and Prof. Omotola tried everything possible to hold a senate meeting and equally called for a press conference, but the plan died on arrival because it was not a popular opinion.

The erudite scholar confirmed that all fingers point to the duo while saying one of the letters they both circulated was being torn to disregard the steps:

> “How can a management member antagonize the management. You will first resign from your post before you can take such a step. What are you fighting for? Just because you want to support somebody to be a vice-chancellor, that is why Prof. Oyedokun-Alli wants the year the Federal government set to be altered or reduced for their selfish interest.”

He confirmed that there is complete stability in the university management and affairs. On the issue of news about the “Senate Resolutions” on the Pro-Chancellor, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, he said it is a blatant blackmail of all the senators by a few individuals. He said there was nothing of such in the senate, saying:

> “We don’t have that right, senate members can only advise.”

He, however, called for peace in the institution. Some other Senate members interviewed corroborated the claims on the “Senate Resolutions,” stating that there was no resolution to pass a vote of no confidence on the Pro-Chancellor.

Efforts were made to interact with Prof. Wasiu Ademola Oyedokun-Alli, but he declined even after stating clearly that his name was mentioned as a key player in the ongoing tussle reported in the media. In the course of our investigative reports, speaking with Professor Omotola on the allegations of his involvement in organizing a press briefing and calling for a senate meeting on the university's WhatsApp platforms, Professor Omotola denied all allegations. He said the allegations were not true. However, on the issue of appointment of the new VC, he stated clearly:

> “If the council has taken ten years of professorial experience as a criterion, so be it.”

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina, declined to comment on FUOYE issues because he is currently on leave in the United States, where he is carrying out his research work, but after much pressure, he agreed to grant us a few moments of his time. On the allegation of influencing the recruitment process for loyalists, Prof. Fasina said:

> “It is a lie from the pit of hell, there’s no way you can manipulate the appointment of any staff, clarifying that there’s no recruitment going on in the university presently. What is going on is the normal annual promotion exercise for staff of the university.”

He added that it is actually posting to various units, which have procedures, protocols, rules and regulations for doing that. Prof. Fasina said for clarity of purpose:

> “I am currently in the United States for more research to acquire more knowledge while on leave, hence, there’s no time for trivialities.”

To add more to that, he said, even as the Vice-Chancellor, he still supervises Postgraduate students in their research. On that aspect of recruitment, Prof. Fasina said, the government has not given them the go-ahead to recruit either internally or by placing an advert. On the pressure regarding the upcoming succession of his position, he said that during his time to be appointed as the Vice-chancellor, seventy-six people applied, and he eventually emerged. However, it was equally a thug of war with several assassination of character attempts and social media name-damaged, but he scaled through. Still, on the pressure of the appointment of a new Vice Chancellor, he said, the core reason behind the crises is that:

> “They don’t want me on the seat when it’s time to appoint a new Vice-chancellor.”

Saying whoever God has chosen will emerge.

On his achievement, the erudite scholar said that in four years, he has promoted almost two hundred professors, constructed one hundred and fifty-six projects with documents and facts to show as evidence, increased the number of Faculties from nine to eighteen, established the College of Medicine, and increased internally generated revenue (IGR). He prayed that the best internal candidate would emerge as the Vice-Chancellor who would know the immediate problem of the Institution. In his observation, he argued that the Vice-chancellor appointment should be on merit, as merit is the key to hallmark in appointing a Vice-chancellor, and Federal character must be considered. He commended the Pro-Chancellor for his maturity and credibility.

The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) stands at a critical juncture, caught between its undeniable record of rapid growth and negative news in the media. All parties involved must prioritize the long-term health of FUOYE over short-term personal or factional interests. The focus must return to the core mission of teaching, learning, and research, ensuring that the university's headlines are once again defined by scholarly achievement and innovation, not internal conflict.

FUOYE: FIJ’s mischievous reports on rumoured Senate’s Push for Ndoma Egba ‘s removal, An ugly past rearing its Head Again

By Toun Alabi

(An investigative Journalist)

Yesterday, another mischievous report, titled: "INSIDER: FUOYE Senate Wants Pro-Chancellor Victor Ndoma-Egba Removed for Protecting VC Fasina Who Sexually Harassed Employee" , found its way out of the questionable news outlet of the so-called Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ). The embarrassing report, as usual, contains illogical, sensational and untrue claims, particularly on the allegations that the Senate of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) was pushing for the removal of the chairman of the University's Governing Council, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba (SAN). The reporter of the controversial piece, identified as Sodeeq Atanda, tried feebly and unsuccessfully to pull the wool over the face of his readers that the Senate of the Nigeria's fourth most subscribed University, are pushing for the removal of Mr. Ndoma Egba as FUOYE's Pro-chancellor/ chairman of the Governing Council, by publishing a fake letter purported to have been co-written and signed by the said Senate members, but alas! There is no evidence of such signatures of the said members of the Senate of FUOYE on the published fake letter!.

The foregoing findings clearly rendered that purported letter invalid and certified its contents as untrue, unfounded and grossly fictitious.

Reading the above titled ill-fated publication of FIJ between the lines, one discovers to his chargrin, the writer's mischief in certain claims that clearly contradict the contents in some other documents he published, claiming are written by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu and Senator Ndoma Egba.

Most obvious of these inconsistencies is his claim that the Acting VC alleged that the Council chairman mandated him to withdraw the new appointments of two officers of the University, which are the Procurement Officer and the Director of the institute of Part Time. Unfortunately, in the same document the confused FIJ reporter published as the Acting VC's speech on the floor of the Senate, to substantiate his claim, the Acting VC had only mentioned the office of Procurement Officer as the only appointment the Council chairman urged him to retain and that too has been for very cogent reasons of sustained handling of important projects for the proper running of the system (according to these published letters).

Again, the FIJ as a news outlet exposed its usual display of poor journalism resulting in yellow journalism, especially in reporting alleged happenings in FUOYE, when it claimed in that ill-fated report that the Senate under the chairmanship of the Acting VC has planned to address a press conference and that such press conference was to disclose to the public the council chairman and substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina 's alleged sins, one of which was an alleged victimisation of Mrs. Folasade Adebayo. Truth is that the Senate had passed a Vote of Confidence in Prof. Fasina on the allegation of sexual harassment involving Mrs. Adebayo, (this was widely reported), thereafter the probe panel set up by the Council had also resolved the issues surrounding issues of this same allegation against Prof. Fasina. While both the Engr Kayode Ojo (immediate past Council chairman) led Governing Council and the current Senator Ndoma Egba led Council had looked into the sexual harrasment allegations and duly exonerated Prof. Fasina, other cogent points include the fact that, one, Mrs. Adebayo never indicated in her petition on official issues between her and Prof. Fasina (written to the University Governing Council) that she was sexually harassed by the substantive Vice-Chancellor. Besides, Mrs. Adebayo herself, had earlier stated categorically in her statement with the Nigerian Police during the probe of the case, that she was never sexually harassed by Prof. Fasina. (Some section of the media including FIJ were the ones spreading the fake news of such allegations of sexual harassment based on mischievous and false Communique allegedly handed them by the University's local leadership of SSANU). Even, the Communique from the local branch of SSANU on the foregoing issue were of two different versions. The one submitted to the University Council didn't contain sexual harassment allegation against Prof. Fasina, (because they know there is no proof for this beyond any reasonable doubt). But the other version of its Communique in November, 2024, FUOYE SSANU had made available to some section of the media, mischievously contain the sexual harassment allegation and this was mainly done to kick start a deliberate and heinous media trial against Prof. Fasina. The report of the Council 's probe panel which was made public few months ago had resolved all the issues on Mrs. Adebayo and FUOYE SSANU's leaders' gross misconduct against the system. Appropriate sanctions, though understandably lenient, were meted out to them in line with the Regulations of the University. Prof. Fasina, having been served a clean bill of health on the matter by the Council 's probe panel, had dragged Mrs. Adebayo and the recalcitrant news outlets (Sahara Reporters and FIJ) that defamed him to Court. It is expected that the media would allow the matter to rest as it is subjudice to continue to report it, but unfortunately, because of FIJ's vested interest and unprofessional handling of its so-called investigative journalism, it defied ethical norms in journalism and revisited the issue and misled the public again in its evil report of yesterday.

Unfortunately and tragically for FIJ, the truth cannot be hidden. No Senate member of the University is pushing for the removal of her Pro-chancellor and chairman of Governing Council. If that had happened, there would have been an address of the media by all members of the Senate of the University, led of course, by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu, who is the statutory chairman of Senate, these members would have presented themselves before the media, the television stations would have broadcast them and the print journalists in all national dailes would have also reported the development, parading their pictures for the world to see. It would have been the biggest news in town ! But that did not happen. In fact, the Public Relations Officer of FUOYE, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, had on behalf of the management of the University, had instead, issued a press statement stating the truth that there is no friction whatsoever between the Acting VC and Prof. Fasina and that new appointments were solely handled y the Acting VC and his team and that all new officers have resumed their duties. All is well at FUOYE. But what we have FIJ, as usual, do is to act the script of some unscrupulous elements paying their bills secretly to publish falsehood on FUOYE just to disrupt the on going transition process of electing the next substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University. The interesting thing is that, this charade by the FIJ is a familiar terrain. The ill-fated news outlet is merely playing to the gallery again and exposing itself as another agent of distabilization against FUOYE like Sahara Reporters. It is their stock in trade, this is indeed sad and pathetic.

The allegations reported as alleged concerns of Senate members on issues surrounding new appointments, adverts on vacant positions of principal officers, and the office of the Vice-Chancellor, citing in particular 7 or 8 years as criteria for eligibility are mere insinuations from political gladiators in the system who have sponsored FIJ to write the ill-fated report just to cause disinfection against the dutiful and meticulous Pro-chancellor and chairman of Governing Council of the University, Senator Ndoma Egba and substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina. The Governing Council as the highest administrative Authority of the University, representing the Federal Government which is the employer of all staff of the University, has the autonomy to decide what criteria to set for appointing new VC based on the peculiarities obtainable in the system. The collective decision of the Council is binding, it is never a sole decision of the chairman alone. The decision was arrived at after thorough deliberations by equally sound minded and cerebral members of the Governing Council who have equally put in long years of meritorious service to the nation and have been deemed fit and well deserving to be appointed to represent the Federal Government in administering the University. So, questioning the appropriateness of their collective decision in fixing 10 years for criteria for FUOYE's next VC is mischievous and embarrassing. Truth is that the FUOYE Council has merely followed procedure already approved by the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa in a bid to ensure sanity in the system. Besides, FUOYE recently added to her comity of Professors, over 100 of them, courtesy of responsive leadership provided by Prof. Fasina before he went on leave in the U.S. This laudable development has increased the number of her Professors tremendously. In such a peculiar situation, it is expected that the criteria for the number one academic officer/CEO of the University would be highly competitive.

The sponsors of FIJ publication further exposed their shenanigan mannerism in dabbling into extraneous matters such as allegations of N900,000, 000,000 staff housing units, Prof. Fasina's accumulated and research leave in the U.S, Education Minister's response to SSANU's purported letter and protest by some disgruntled elements against the system and allegations of imposition of candidates by chairman of Governing Council and Prof. Fasina among others. Such diversionary tactics betray their political witch-hunt, and exposed these sponsors of the FIJ ill-fated publication as some unscrupulous elements who have been disappointed and defeated in a system strictly run on legitimate procedural tenets and they are now bad losers, hell -bent on disrupting the on going smooth and legitimate process of the VCship race in FUOYE. They forget that the system will, as usual, not compromise on merit. It was merit against all odds, that brought Prof. Fasina as fourth substantive Vice-Chancellor of the University in 2021. These familiar enemies tried their best to disrupt the system and the process to favour their ill-fated selfish and inglorious agenda to grab power by all illegitimate means possible during the VCship race prior to Prof. Fasina's emergence, they failed woefully. They will fail woefully again this time and FUOYE will surely have the best among the lot to emerge as her next Vice-Chancellor.

For the umpteenth time, FIJ is strongly advised to dissipate its energy on defending itself on myriad of legal battles it is facing over defamatory.and predatory publications, including the on going case Prof. Fasina has filed against it at the Ekiti State High Court and stop this charade it is calling investigative Journalism.

Ooni’s Palace Dismisses Alaafin’s Ultimatum, Calls It ‘Empty Threat’

The Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has brushed aside the 48-hour ultimatum issued by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, describing it as an “empty threat” unworthy of an official response.

In a message released by the Ooni’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Yera Moses Olafare via his Facebook page, the palace maintained that it would not be dragged into unnecessary disputes that could create disunity in Yorubaland.

“My principal has directed me against issuing a press release on the empty threat of the Alawada Babasala,” Olafare stated, stressing that the palace would not “dignify the undignifyable with an official response.”

He further noted that the matter was already being debated in the public court of opinion, where it rightly belonged. “Let’s rather focus on narratives that unite us rather than the ones capable of dividing us,” Olafare added, dismissing the Alaafin’s 48-hour ultimatum with the phrase: “48 Hours, my foot!”

The development comes amid rising tensions following the Alaafin’s objection to the Ooni’s conferment of the chieftaincy title of Okanlomo of Yorubaland on businessman Dotun Sanusi. While the Alaafin insists the title should be withdrawn, the Ooni’s camp has made it clear that it has no plans to engage in a war of words over the issue.

FUOYE: Sahara Reporters! Enough is Enough!!!

By Toun Alabi

Sahara Reporters is a Nigerian online news outlet created for business purposes of practicing journalism in a way that, ordinarily, should be in strict adherence to the ethical practices that guide the professional practice of the noble profession, journalism.

Sadly and tragically, this news outlet called Sahara Reporters, has become a laughing stock, comic relief platform, and a fake news hub where just anything falsehood, scandalous, sensational, mischievous and predatory among others, hold sway. If you doubt my judgement, please type into Artificial Intelligence (A.I) app on your smart phone, for Nigeria's most untruthful and controversial news outlet, and sue me if you don't find Sahara Reporters top among the list. The platform has become a replica of its owner and publisher, Mr. Omoyele Sowore who has become a so called sophisticated political thug, mouthing shamefully, all sorts of dirty political slogans and waging needless and reckless wars against responsible leaders of the country in a desperate attempt to seek relevance and misguide unsuspecting and innocent Nigerian youths to support his perpetually doomed-to-fail Presidential ambition.

We professionals in the field of journalism are usually embarrassed by the gross disregard Mr. Sowore allows his news outlet, Sahara Reporters, to display against the noble profession of journalism whenever we read poorly handled and edited publications that are daily being churned out on the digital space of this ill-fated news outlet called Sahara Reporters.

One of such recent poor outings is the publication, entitled: " EXCLUSIVE: Nigeria’s Federal University Oye-Ekiti Pro-Chancellor, Suspended VC Accused Of Manipulating Recruitment, Bending Rules To Favour Loyalists" , published on
August 18, 2025.

The said publication is a show of shame and a dirty slap on the noble profession of journalism. It falls grossly, short of what professionals in the field would be proud of as a balanced report, devoid of bias, witch-hunt and smear campaign. It is full of falsehood, pathetically as usual, yellow journalism, sensationalism and unfounded, baseless, illogical and false allegations against the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) and the substantive Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, who is now currently on Research Leave as gracefully approved by the highest Authority of the University, the Governing Council ably led by a highly respected and experienced statesman, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, a man of proven integrity and untainted record of long years of service to the nation.

Sahara Reporters' recent and sustained attack on the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) is no surprise. This pathetic news outlet is renowned for launching predatory media attacks on unsuspecting and decent Nigerians and instances of this heinous act on the part of the Sowore owned and unilaterally controlled Sahara Reporters, abounds as a click on the social media would undoubtedly disclose myriad of legal suits against the malpractices and injustice being perpetrated by Sahara Reporters on several individuals and organizations, with many of these cases shamefully lost by Sahara Reporters.

One wonders if the news outlet called Sahara Reporters has lost every sense of decency and ethical norms in practicing journalism when, after failing woefully to deceive the world that the substantive Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, was never suspended by the Governing Council of the institution, (but had merely had his well-deserved accumulated leave approved by the Council and therefore proceeded on the six months leave), the news platform still went ahead to launch another media attack against the person of Prof. Fasina and even allowed itself to be used by some recalcitrant elements in the system, (who are hell bent on grabbing VCship position by all illegitimate means possible), as channel and agent of disruption and political witch hunt against the persons of Senator Ndoma Egba and Prof Fasina.

The contents of the above titled publication are shameful testimony to the fact that Sahara Reporters has become a news platform where just any shenanigan could settle scores with political opponents by weaponizing media trials to spread smear campaign against their colleagues in a political race where sanity and strict procedural tenets are sacrosanct.

Pray! Which source or sources is Sahara Reporters citing in many of the falsehoods it has published in the piece with the aforementioned headline?
One of the core ethical practices of Journalism is clarity and balanced reporting, the tone and contents of the aforementioned headline fall grossly short of these ethical practices that make Journalism a noble profession and affirm the profession as the fourth estate of the realm.

Let us tackle the tissues of lies reported in the aforementioned piece one after the other.

First, Sahara Reporters labelled Prof. Fasina as suspended VC of FUOYE, but they failed woefully to, as usual, publish in this fake news, the purported letter of suspension that ought to have been handled out to the substantive Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, to authenticate this false claim in the ill-fated report.

It appeared that Sahara Reporters in this ill-fated publication was sponsored to deliberately malign the image of both the Governing Council chairman of FUOYE, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba and her substantive Vice-Chancellor as they keep quoting some strange sources as alleging the tissues of lies that the publication pathetically contained.

The Sahara Reporters' publication alleges that both Senator Egba and Prof. Fasina are manipulating recruitment processes in FUOYE but failed to categorically state from which quarters such allegations was coming from. Ideally, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof.Olubunmi Shittu is in the best position to publicly make such allegation for well meaning members of the public to believe. Apparently, there is suspicion in quoting sources for such weighty allegations that ordinarily, the Acting VC could have made in his capacity. It does appear that some unscrupulous elements whose ploy is to use Sahara Reporters, as a willing tool, to disrupt the system, are the script writers and sources of this shameless news outlet called Sahara Reporters.

Thankfully, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the University, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede has punctured claims by Sahara Reporters when he hit the writer of the ill-fated publication below the belt in the following response:
"Contrary to another lies in a trending report by Sahara Reporters, accusing the duo of Pro-Chancellor of Federal University Oye Ekiti, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, SAN, and the university Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina of “manipulating recruitment and bending rules to favour loyalists,” the duo had no role to play in the appointments of directors, Deans, Professors and the procurement officer of the university except otherwise brought before the Council.

“Instead, the Pro-Chancellor, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, being the Chairman of Council and the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fasina, who’s on his accumulated leave in the United States of America played no roles in the appointments, as the recent appointments made was the exclusive preserve of the university management being led by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu."

The constant mention of the names of Senator Ndoma Egba and Prof. Fasina, who is currently on Research Leave in the United States of America (U.S.A) in this ill-fated report by Sharara Reporters, clearly betrayed the biased position of the news outlet.

Unknown to Sahara Reporters and their cohorts, the University system runs democratically such that no single individual is capable of taking decisions that are binding on all in the system. Members of the Governing Council of FUOYE arrive at any decisions taken, only through a thoroughly democratic process. All views of parties involved are sought and democratically tabled before decisions are arrived at.
So, it is practically impossible for either Senator Ndoma Egba as chairman of Governing Council or Prof. Fasina as substantive Vice-Chancellor, to single-handedly impose their decision on other equally cerebral and well versed members of the Council in administrative matters. This explains why the claim by Sahara Reporters that both Ndoma Egba and Prof. Fasina Lord their wills over others in the system become baseless, unfounded and fictitious.

Ogunmodede also exposed Sahara Reporters's pitiable gaffe when he informed the world that indeed, it was the Education Minister, Dr. Tunji Alausa who had set the rules followed by FUOYE 's Governing Council for the criteria advertised by FUOYE for the position of the Vice-Chancellor. His words, piercing through the devilish lies of Sahara Reporters, are:

“If it’s not in the culture of Sahara Reporters to brazenly spread lies about FUOYE and its officers, Sahara Reporters would have known that criteria for eligibility for Vice-Chancellor was set by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, who approved a policy establishing eligibility criteria for the appointment of Vice-Chancellors in order to promote equity, transparency and integrity in the selection process.

“This had nothing to do with the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council Federal University Oye Ekiti, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.”

Ogunmodede continued,

Dr. Alausa had said “the policy became necessary following a pattern of undue advantage observed over the years, where officers serving in acting capacities often leveraged their positions to influence appointment outcomes.

“These officers also compromise the fairness and transparency of the selection process.

“The policy is necessary to eliminate this practice, ensure a level playing field for all qualified candidates, and strengthen institutional governance.

“However, in the interest of fairness, such officers may choose to recuse themselves from their acting positions before the expiration of their non-renewable six-month tenure, thereby becoming eligible to apply for the substantive roles.”

Is the Pro-Chancellor the Minister of Education, who made the policy? No, as the Sahara Reporters has told brazen lies as true to type always."

If any one with sane mind has read all the aforementioned rebuttal by the PRO of the great University and still continues to believe the pathological lies of Sahara Reporters or take seriously the news outlet's future publications about the University, then something must be wrong with such individual.

Truth is that Deans and Directors, Heads of Department and others were announced duly by the management and staff members unanimously appraised the development and the officers have since assumed duty and commenced the performance of their various duties with no one raising any eyebrow, thus making the system enjoying its well-deserved peace. Sahara Reporters 's publication is merely targeted at hitting the polity but it has failed woefully.
The Governing Council of any federal University is the highest Authority of the University and has the autonomy to take democratically valid decisions on the appointment of principal officers of the University based principally on her peculiarities. The situation in FUOYE could not be compared to some other federal Universities with differing situations and peculiarities. So, comparison with other federal institutions on FUOYE Council 's democratic decisions on advertisement of some of her vacant positions of principal officers, including the soon-to-be vacant office of the Vice-Chancellor by Sahara Reporters is an attempt at disrupting the peaceful system and hitting the polity to deliberately cause chaos in FUOYE.
The pertinent question to ask the seemingly jobless reporters in Sahara Reporters, is, is FUOYE the only federal University in Nigeria that they are desirous of reporting, and publish falsehood about her?

The shameless news outlet has been dragged to Court for its sins against Prof Fasina and the federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), it should dissipate its energy into defending itself against the myriad of charges against it, and stop the laughable smear campaign it is spreading against the persons of Senator Ndoma Egba and Prof Fasina . Enough is enough!!!.

Comfort Emmason Shares Emotional First Words After Release From Prison Over Ibom Air Drama

Barely 24 hours after regaining her freedom, Miss Comfort Emmason, the young woman at the centre of the recent Ibom Air in-flight altercation controversy, has shared an emotional message reflecting on her first moments outside prison.

In a heartfelt post titled “My First Day After Freedom – What I Did First”, Emmason recounted the overwhelming emotions she felt when the prison gates opened.

> “When those prison gates opened, I didn’t rush, I didn’t shout — I just stood still for a moment and took a deep breath. The air felt different. The sky looked brighter. The world seemed… new,” she wrote.

Emmason revealed that her first act upon stepping out was to kneel and thank God, expressing gratitude for what she described as a divine turnaround in her life.

> “Lord, I walked in here in tears, but I’m walking out in Your grace,” she recalled saying in prayer.

She also described the tearful hugs and warm embrace she received from friends and loved ones who came to welcome her, noting that it reminded her that “love is one of the greatest freedoms.”

The former detainee stated that she wasn’t immediately concerned about food, clothes, or her phone, but instead felt her heart overflowing with gratitude for her newfound freedom.

> “I was finally free. And that was enough for me,” she added.

Her post, tagged with hashtags such as #FromShameToFame, #GodOfTurnaround, and #FreshStart, has since gone viral on social media, attracting messages of encouragement and support from Nigerians and admirers across the globe.

Emmason’s release follows a widely publicised case in which she was accused of unruly behaviour and assaulting a flight crew member on an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos. The charges were withdrawn after intervention from high-profile figures, including the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

For Emmason, the chapter may have closed on her legal ordeal, but her words suggest she is opening a new one — centred on faith, gratitude, and a fresh start.

VIDEO: Adeboye Predicts How He Would Peaceful Die on a Sunday After Church Service

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed how he believes his earthly journey will end, telling worshippers that he will die peacefully on a Sunday after attending church.

The revered cleric made the remarks on Thursday evening while ministering at the Old Auditorium of Redemption City during the fourth day of the RCCG’s 73rd Annual Convention themed “The Overcomers.”

Speaking to millions of congregants present and joining virtually, Pastor Adeboye said:

> “It’s going to be on a Sunday. I would go to church for service, dance very well and return home. I will eat pounded yam, then I will go.”

He did not specify when this would happen but stressed that no one should question how he came to know the circumstances of his death.

The 82-year-old preacher made the declaration during a prayer session focused on “Possessing Your Possession,” where he taught that believers are not required to die only after an illness. Instead, he said, with divine healing and favor, death can come peacefully and in God’s time.

Adeboye led several prayers during the session, including petitions for divine healing, long life, fruitfulness, prosperity, and victory over the forces of darkness. Reading from 2 Corinthians 8:9, he encouraged members to embrace God’s promise of abundance, insisting that poverty is not a virtue but a tool the devil uses to hinder the spread of the gospel.

> “Poverty is not a blessing. It’s a weapon of the enemy. Prosperity is your portion as a child of God,” he declared, urging Christians to reject lack in every form.

The week-long convention, which began on Monday at Redemption City, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, continues to attract worshippers from around the world.

HealthMiracle Baby Born In 2025 From 1994 Frozen Embryo by Spectators(op): 12:46pm On Aug 01, 2025
Miracle Baby Born in 2025 from 1994 Frozen Embryo

A baby boy born from a 30-year-old frozen embryo has shattered medical records and stirred global headlines, but for the Ohio couple at the heart of it, it was never about making history. They just wanted a child.

Thaddeus Daniel Pierce came into the world on a quiet Saturday, but his arrival is anything but ordinary. His embryo was frozen in 1994. Now, three decades later, he’s alive, healthy, and making headlines.

His parents, Lindsey (35) and Tim Pierce (34), from Ohio, had spent seven painful years battling infertility. What followed was a choice that sounds straight out of science fiction: adopting a frozen embryo older than both TikTok and Google.

“My family said it was like something from a sci-fi movie,” Lindsey told MIT Technology Review.

```The Frozen Past That Came Alive```
Thaddeus’ story traces back to 1994 when Linda Archerd, then 32, and her husband created four embryos via IVF. One became her daughter, who is now 30. The other three are frozen and waiting.
Life moved on. The couple divorced. But Linda couldn’t bring herself to discard the remaining embryos, donate them for research, or hand them off anonymously.
“I always wanted to be involved. That baby would be my daughter’s biological sibling,” she said.
So, she spent decades and thousands of dollars preserving the embryos in storage, waiting for the right moment. That moment came when she connected with Nightlight Christian Adoptions, a faith-based embryo adoption agency in the US running a programme called Snowflakes. The twist is that the donors pick the adoptive parents.
Linda was clear about her preferences: a married, Caucasian, Christian couple based in the United States.
```No Plans to Make History, Just a Family```
When the couple was matched with Linda, they weren’t trying to break world records. They just wanted to be parents.

“We weren’t out to make headlines. We just wanted to have a baby,” Lindsey said.

They got more than that. They got Thaddeus and with him, a page in medical history. According to reports, his birth marks the longest-known gap between embryo freezing and a live birth. The previous record was held by twins born in 2022 from embryos frozen in 1992.

The IVF transfer was done at Rejoice Fertility, a Tennessee-based clinic that accepts embryos regardless of how long they’ve been frozen. The clinic believes that every embryo has the potential to become life, regardless of age.

For Linda Archerd, this wasn’t just about giving an embryo a chance it was about completing a story she began 30 years ago.

Though she hasn’t met baby Thaddeus yet, she already sees striking similarities with her daughter.

“There’s a clear resemblance,” she told MIT Technology Review, marveling at the miracle unfolding decades after a petri dish held his first spark of life.

And for Thaddeus, he may never fully understand how long he waited to be born or how many lives he’s touched just by arriving.

HealthWhat Is Uric Acid? Causes, Risks, And Its Impact On The Kidney And Other Organs by Spectators(op): 8:54am On Aug 01, 2025
What is Uric Acid? Causes, Risks, and Its Impact on the Kidney and Other Organs

What is Uric Acid?

Uric acid is a waste product formed when the body breaks down purines—substances found naturally in the body and in certain foods (like red meat, seafood, organ meats, alcohol, and sugary drinks). Normally, uric acid dissolves in the blood, passes through the kidneys, and is eliminated in urine.

However, when the body either produces too much uric acid or fails to excrete enough, levels in the blood rise—this condition is known as hyperuricemia. Persistently high uric acid can lead to gout, kidney stones, and damage to various organs.

---

Causes of High Uric Acid Levels

Hyperuricemia can result from multiple factors:

1. Dietary Causes

High intake of purine-rich foods (red meat, liver, sardines)

Excessive alcohol consumption (especially beer)

Sugary drinks and fructose-rich foods

Overeating and obesity

2. Medical Conditions

Chronic kidney disease

Hypertension (high blood pressure)

Diabetes and metabolic syndrome

Hypothyroidism

Psoriasis and other rapid cell turnover disorders

3. Medications

Diuretics (used for blood pressure or heart failure)

Low-dose aspirin

Immunosuppressants like cyclosporine

Some cancer treatments (due to cell breakdown)

4. Genetics

Family history of gout or kidney stones

Some inherited metabolic disorders

---

How Uric Acid Affects the Body

1. Kidney Damage

One of the most critical organs affected by high uric acid is the kidney. Here’s how:

Kidney Stones: Excess uric acid can form crystals that accumulate in the kidneys or urinary tract, forming stones that cause severe pain and potential blockage of urine flow.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD): Long-term high uric acid can inflame and scar the kidneys, impairing their filtering ability. The relationship is bidirectional—kidney dysfunction raises uric acid, and high uric acid can worsen kidney function.

Acute Kidney Injury (AKI): In rare cases, especially during chemotherapy (tumor lysis syndrome), massive release of purines can cause a sudden surge in uric acid levels, leading to crystal blockage and rapid kidney failure.

2. Joint Damage (Gout)

Excess uric acid can crystallize and deposit in joints, triggering gout—a type of inflammatory arthritis. Symptoms include sudden, severe pain, redness, and swelling (often starting in the big toe). Repeated attacks can cause permanent joint damage.

3. Cardiovascular System

High uric acid is linked to hypertension, atherosclerosis, stroke, and heart failure. Uric acid can:

Damage blood vessels

Increase oxidative stress and inflammation

Reduce nitric oxide availability (which helps blood vessels relax)

4. Metabolic Disorders

Hyperuricemia is often associated with:

Insulin resistance

Type 2 diabetes

Obesity

Fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

High uric acid may promote fat accumulation and inflammation, contributing to these conditions.

5. Other Organs

Eyes: Long-standing gout may lead to deposits in eye tissues, although rare.

Skin: In chronic cases, urate crystals can form lumps under the skin called tophi.

Lungs: Very rarely, tophi can deposit in the lungs, interfering with respiratory function.

Prevention and Management

1. Diet and Lifestyle Changes

Limit intake of purine-rich foods

Avoid sugary drinks and limit alcohol

Drink plenty of water to help flush uric acid

Maintain a healthy weight

Exercise regularly

2. Medications

For those with recurrent gout or kidney issues:

Allopurinol or febuxostat: reduce uric acid production

Probenecid: helps the kidneys eliminate uric acid

Colchicine or NSAIDs: manage gout attacks

3. Monitoring

Regular blood tests to check uric acid levels

Kidney function tests (creatinine, eGFR)

Imaging for kidney stones if needed

Conclusion

While uric acid is a natural by-product of metabolism, excess levels pose a serious health risk. Chronic hyperuricemia can silently damage the kidneys, lead to painful joint disease, and increase the risk of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders. Recognizing the signs early and managing lifestyle factors, alongside medical treatment when necessary, is essential to prevent long-term organ damage.

Sports10 Rare Facts About Hulk Hogan by Spectators(op): 7:19pm On Jul 25, 2025
Behind the Bandana: 10 Rare Facts About Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan, born Terry Eugene Bollea, is a name synonymous with professional wrestling. With his signature handlebar mustache, red-and-yellow ring gear, and booming “Whatcha gonna do, brother?” catchphrase, Hogan became a pop culture icon in the 1980s and 90s. However, behind the spotlight and slams are layers of the man that many of his fans never get to see. Here are some little-known facts about the wrestling legend:

---

1. He Almost Became a Musician Instead of a Wrestler

Long before entering the ring, Hogan was a talented bassist and even played in several bands in Florida. His band, Ruckus, was fairly popular in the Tampa Bay area. It was his love for music that first drew attention to him—he was spotted by wrestlers who frequented the bars he played in.

---

2. Sylvester Stallone Helped Make Him a Star

Although Hogan was gaining popularity in the wrestling world, his cameo in Rocky III as “Thunderlips” in 1982 brought him mainstream recognition. Sylvester Stallone personally chose Hogan for the role after being impressed by his size and charisma. The role introduced Hogan to millions outside the wrestling world.

---

3. He Was Fired by the WWF (Now WWE) Before He Became a Legend

In the early 1980s, Vince McMahon Sr. let Hogan go from the WWF after he took the Rocky III movie role without permission. It wasn’t until McMahon’s son, Vince McMahon Jr., took over the company that Hogan was brought back—and ultimately pushed to superstardom.

---

4. He Was Considered for a Role in ‘The Wrestler’ Movie

Before Mickey Rourke was cast in the critically acclaimed film The Wrestler (2008), rumors swirled that Hulk Hogan was being considered for the lead role. While Hogan has denied being formally offered the part, director Darren Aronofsky reportedly saw him as a potential fit due to his wrestling legacy and real-life experience.

---

5. He Suffered Over 20 Surgeries

Despite his image as an indestructible powerhouse, Hogan’s body has paid a steep price for years of punishment in the ring. He has undergone over 20 surgeries, including multiple back surgeries, knee replacements, and procedures on his hips and shoulders. He has openly discussed the chronic pain he lives with daily.

---

6. He Once Owned a Pasta Restaurant Called 'Pastamania'

In 1995, during his WCW heyday, Hogan launched a pasta-themed restaurant named Pastamania in the Mall of America, Minnesota. It was heavily promoted during WCW’s Monday Nitro debut but closed less than a year later due to poor performance.

---

7. He Was Nearly Cast as the Voice of the Hulk in a Marvel Animated Series

Given his nickname and imposing presence, Hulk Hogan was once considered to voice the Hulk in an early 1990s animated series, but the idea was eventually scrapped. Still, Hogan’s name has long been linked with the comic book character—despite no official Marvel connection.

---

8. He Claims He Was Supposed to Be the Face of the George Foreman Grill

Hogan has often joked in interviews that he missed a phone call from his agent offering him the now-famous George Foreman Grill endorsement. When he called back, the gig had already been given to George Foreman. The grill went on to sell over 100 million units globally.

---

9. He's a Devoted Animal Lover

Away from the ring, Hogan has a soft side for animals. He has rescued several dogs over the years and supported local animal shelters in Florida. He has also spoken against animal cruelty and illegal wildlife trade.

---

10. He Holds a Record for Most Covers of Sports Illustrated by a Wrestler

Hogan became the first—and remains one of the very few—professional wrestlers to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. His 1985 cover broke barriers by legitimizing professional wrestling as a form of entertainment and athleticism in mainstream sports media.

---

Despite his controversial moments and a career filled with highs and lows, Hulk Hogan remains one of the most recognized figures in sports entertainment history. Beyond the ring, these lesser-known stories help paint a fuller picture of the man behind the muscle.

VIDEO: Seyi Vodi Takes Children on Emotional Tour of His Hustle Journey

Fashion entrepreneur and businessman, Seyi Vodi, has stirred emotions online after a video surfaced showing him taking his children on a nostalgic tour of where his journey to success began.

In the touching video, Vodi is seen standing in front of a modest shop in Gwagwalada, Abuja, pointing out landmarks and recounting how he once shuttled between the area and the city centre on commercial motorcycles and buses for years, chasing his dreams in the fashion industry.

"This was in 2003/04," Vodi began. "I would pick okada from the front of this shop. If you know Student Village in Gwagwalada, then you know what this place looked like back then."

According to him, rain or shine, he would ride motorcycles to the local motor park before boarding buses to Berger Junction in Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

"Then the roads were not dualized, no flyovers. I would stop at Citizen Bank, where my roommate, Kennedy Okwudili—now a GM and Zonal Head at Zenith Bank—would help me keep my big Ghana-must-go bag filled with shirts," he narrated.

From there, Vodi said he would proceed to distribute shirts to bankers and clients, returning late at night to Gwagwalada—only to repeat the cycle the next day.

“I did that for eight years,” he added, underscoring the perseverance and grit behind his now-thriving fashion empire, Vodi Group.

HealthUnderstanding Choking And Epiglottis: Its Vital Role, Dangers Of Malfunction, Ex by Spectators(op): 11:14pm On Jul 20, 2025
Understanding Choking and Epiglottis: Its Vital Role, Dangers of Malfunction, Expert Advice

The human body is a marvel of biological engineering, and one of its lesser-known yet essential components is the epiglottis — a small, flap-like structure located in the throat. Though often overlooked, this flap plays a critical role in preventing choking and ensuring the safe passage of air and food.

What is the Epiglottis?

The epiglottis is a leaf-shaped piece of cartilage situated at the entrance of the larynx (voice box). It acts like a traffic officer in the throat, directing food into the esophagus and air into the windpipe. During breathing, the epiglottis stays upright, allowing air to flow freely into the lungs. When swallowing, it folds down to cover the windpipe, blocking food or liquid from entering the airway.

What Happens If It Fails?

If the epiglottis accidentally opens while swallowing — a phenomenon commonly experienced when "food goes down the wrong pipe" — it can result in choking, coughing, or aspiration. Aspiration is particularly dangerous, as it can cause food or liquid to enter the lungs, potentially leading to serious conditions like aspiration pneumonia.

Dr. Adebayo Aluko, an ENT specialist based in Lagos, explains:
"The epiglottis is a natural guardian of the airway. When it malfunctions or fails to close in time, it can allow substances into the respiratory tract. While the body often responds with reflex coughing to expel the material, in severe cases, this can lead to blocked airways or lung infections."

Conditions Affecting the Epiglottis

Rarely, inflammation of the epiglottis — known as epiglottitis — can occur, often caused by bacterial infections such as Haemophilus influenzae type B (Hib). This condition is a medical emergency and can rapidly obstruct breathing.

Professional Advice and Prevention

Experts recommend the following to reduce the risk of epiglottis-related mishaps:

Eat and drink slowly. Rushing meals increases the risk of the flap not functioning properly.

Avoid talking or laughing while chewing. This can disrupt the coordination of swallowing.

Stay upright during meals. Gravity helps direct food downward into the esophagus.

Seek medical help if swallowing problems persist. Difficulty swallowing, frequent choking, or hoarseness could signal underlying issues.

Pediatricians also advise parents to ensure their children receive the Hib vaccine, which dramatically reduces the risk of epiglottitis in infants and toddlers.

Final Word

Though small and unseen, the epiglottis is a powerful protector of our respiratory system. Awareness of its function — and what to do when it falters — can make the difference between a simple cough and a life-threatening emergency.

Wike Faces Backlash Over Viral Throwback Video Criticising Buhari, Tinubu Governments (VIDEO)

A throwback video of current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, fiercely criticising the All Progressives Congress (APC) government under former President Muhammadu Buhari and throwing jabs at then-APC presidential aspirant, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has resurfaced online, sparking outrage and accusations of political hypocrisy.

In the video, which has gone viral across social media platforms, Wike—who was then the Governor of Rivers State and a prominent member of the opposition—condemned the Buhari-led administration and took direct aim at Tinubu’s campaign promise to “continue the good work” of his predecessor.

"When I hear people declaring for APC, saying that they want to continue the good job of Mr. President—the good job of people dying every day, the good job of Naira falling every day—I feel so ashamed," Wike said in the video.

He continued: “We have got to the level where people will come and say, ‘I want to continue the good job of Buhari.’ What is the good job of Buhari? Of hunger—is that a good job? Of poverty—is that a good job? Of insecurity—is that a good job? Of the economy falling—is that a good job? It's such a shameful thing. I can't believe that somebody will come in today's Nigeria and say, ‘I want to continue where Mr. Buhari has stopped.’ May God forgive. May God never allow that people to continue to lie.”

The comments, once cheered by critics of the APC government, have now resurfaced to haunt Wike, who in a surprising political twist is serving under President Bola Tinubu’s administration as FCT Minister.

Many Nigerians have taken to social media to call Wike out for what they see as a classic case of political double-dealing. Critics accuse him of abandoning his convictions for political relevance and power, while some defenders argue his decision reflects political pragmatism.

Wike, who fell out with his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the lead-up to the 2023 general elections, played a controversial role in Tinubu’s eventual electoral victory, despite not formally defecting to the APC.

Senator Seriake Dickson Pays Condolence Visit Over Awujale’s Passing

Senator Seriake Dickson on Wednesday visited Ijebu-Ode to pay his respects following the passing of His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland.

Senator Dickson, a prince of the Fidipote Royal Family of Ijebuland and current representative of Bayelsa West Senatorial District, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the revered monarch, who joined his ancestors a few days ago.

Accompanied by High Chief Bimbo Okenla, the Kakanfo Awujale of Ijebuland, the Senator met with prominent figures of the royal establishment, including His Royal Highness Oba Tajudeen Kolawole Omotayo, the Olori Ebi (head) of the Fidipote Ruling House, and Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde K1, the Olori Omo Oba Akile Ijebu and Head of the Princes’ Council.

“I thanked them for the solidarity and support they showed Kabiyesi during his reign, and also for the dignity and unity they have displayed at his passing,” Senator Dickson said.

He was briefed on the ongoing funeral rites and traditional activities planned by the Ijebu Traditional Council in honour of the late monarch. He also visited the family residence to condole with the Olori and other members of the royal household.

“As a prince of the Fidipote Royal Family, it was important for me to be present and to share in this moment of mourning and remembrance. I hope to visit them again soon,” said Dickson, who is also a former Governor of Bayelsa State.

Oba Sikiru Adetona reigned for 65 years, making him one of Nigeria’s longest-serving and most respected traditional rulers. His death marks the end of a historic era in Ijebuland and in Nigeria’s traditional leadership landscape.

“May his soul continue to rest in peace. Amen,” Senator Dickson prayed.

Outrage, Condemnation Trail Death of Ex-President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigerians React

The death of Nigeria’s former president, Muhammadu Buhari, has sparked a wave of strong and controversial reactions from aggrieved Nigerians, with many recalling his controversial legacy both as a military ruler and a civilian leader. Among those who have spoken out critically are journalist Kemi Olunloyo and activist Omoyele Sowore.

Kemi Olunloyo, a self-styled investigative journalist known for her outspoken views, did not mince words in her reaction. In a social media post, she wrote:

> “Finally, Buhari and my dad will meet in hell. I hope everyone he locked up is released and all the journalists he executed during his military reign can continue to rest in peace. I hope his family can now tell the world he was 89 and not 82, because he was 48 years old with my dad in 1983 when he took over Shagari's democracy.”

Olunloyo’s post has generated widespread attention and backlash, reigniting debates over Buhari's record on press freedom and human rights during his time in power.

Equally scathing was Omoyele Sowore, human rights activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, who catalogued alleged atrocities and abuses committed under Buhari’s leadership. In a statement posted online, Sowore declared:

> “Buhari slaughtered hundreds of Shiites — men, women, and even children. He ordered soldiers to open fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters waving the Nigerian flag. He 'disappeared' Dadiyata. He ordered the massacre of young Southeasterners he branded IPOB. He disobeyed court orders, jailed critics arbitrarily, destroyed the economy, and ruined everything he touched.
And now, because he’s dead, some people with selective memory want us to mourn or worship him?
Shameful.”

Buhari, who ruled Nigeria as a military head of state between 1983 and 1985 and later served two terms as an elected president from 2015 to 2023, remains a deeply polarizing figure. While some Nigerians remember him for his stance on anti-corruption and infrastructural efforts, critics have consistently pointed to authoritarian tendencies, human rights violations, and economic hardship under his administration.

As tributes continue to pour in from political allies and government institutions, these dissenting voices have reopened national debates about Buhari's legacy and the cost of his leadership on democracy and civil liberties.

The former president died in London, though official details about the cause and final rites are yet to be released.

Makinde, Olowofela Mourn Nigeria’s Immediate Past President, Buhari

Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has expressed heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the death of his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Makinde also commiserated with the widow of the late former president, Hajia Aisha Buhari, and the entire Buhari family, praying that Almighty God grants repose to his soul.

The governor described Buhari’s death as “unexpected,” but acknowledged that the former president made notable contributions to Nigeria during his time in office.

"While the news of his passing came as a shock, we cannot ignore the fact that he served Nigeria in multiple capacities, including as a former Military Head of State and democratically elected President. May God give his family the strength to bear this great loss and grant him Aljanah Firdaus," Makinde said.

In a related development, the Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela, also mourned the passing of the former president. Olowofela, a former Commissioner for Education in Oyo State, described Buhari as a “symbol of integrity and discipline.”

In a statement he personally signed shortly after the news broke, Olowofela said: “President Muhammadu Buhari was a man of purpose and unwavering national commitment. His leadership style, though often debated, was guided by a passion for the unity and development of Nigeria.”

Tributes have continued to pour in from across the country and beyond, reflecting Buhari’s wide-reaching influence and long-standing role in Nigeria’s political evolution.

Federal Agencies Face Backlash Over Alleged Regional Bias, Nuisance Activities in South-West

Nigerians across the country are raising serious concerns over what they describe as the uneven and often abusive conduct of federal law enforcement agencies—particularly the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)—with accusations of regional bias and nuisance activities concentrated in the South-West and other southern regions.

A growing chorus of commuters, civil society groups, and road users say federal agencies that should serve national interests operate with excessive presence and unchecked authority in southern states, especially in the South-West, while maintaining minimal or cautious activity in many parts of the North, particularly the North-West and North-East.

The FRSC has emerged as a key focus of criticism. Many accuse its officers of frequent extortion, excessive roadblocks, and creating traffic bottlenecks. Numerous motorists complain that checkpoints—sometimes involving not just the FRSC but Customs, Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO), Police, and even the NDLEA—are set up in close proximity, often in violation of the mandated one-kilometer spacing.

“We face FRSC, Customs, VIO, Police, and sometimes NDLEA — all within short distances on the same route,” lamented Mr. Tunde Aina, a commercial driver in Ibadan. “They extort money from us in the name of checking papers. But my colleagues driving northern routes don’t face half of this harassment.”

Social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and TikTok are awash with videos and testimonies from Nigerians detailing negative encounters with FRSC officers. Common complaints include arbitrary vehicle seizures, forced bribes, unprofessional conduct, and in some cases, physical intimidation.

“I was stopped on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway for not having a fire extinguisher. The officers insisted on a ₦15,000 cash payment or impounding my vehicle,” said Chukwuemeka Okonkwo, a commercial driver. “They weren’t interested in safety — just money.”

Another motorist, Halima Yusuf from Abuja, recounted being forced to transfer money to an officer’s personal account after being threatened with arrest for a nonexistent offense.

Critics say such behavior indicates that the agency is veering from its mandate of promoting road safety and is instead evolving into a revenue-generating entity. “Their presence on highways does more to slow down traffic than make roads safer,” said civil rights advocate Tunde Bakare.

Residents also argue that the over-concentration of these federal agencies in the South is contributing to economic strain, transport delays, and sometimes fatal road confrontations. Viral footage in recent months has shown altercations between FRSC officers and motorists, with several incidents resulting in injuries or vehicle damage.

“There is no justification for running a federal system where some regions are over-policed by federal agencies while others are largely spared,” said lawyer and rights activist Dele Farotimi. “It reflects a deeper systemic injustice.”

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Nigeria recorded over 10,000 road crashes in 2024—among the highest rates in sub-Saharan Africa—raising serious questions about the effectiveness of the FRSC’s enforcement strategies.

Efforts to obtain official comments from the FRSC and the NCS were unsuccessful as at the time of filing this report. However, a senior official in one of the agencies who requested anonymity admitted that “security concerns” and “logistical limitations” often dictate operational deployment, especially in northern regions.

Still, many Nigerians believe such reasoning does not justify the imbalance. “If they can’t operate equally in every state, then their mandate should be reassessed,” said Gloria Ojo, a public interest lawyer. “The institution itself may not be the problem, but the conduct of its officers is damaging public trust.”

In the wake of widespread public outcry, civil society organizations are calling on the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council to launch an independent investigation into the operations of federal agencies nationwide. Proposed reforms include digital traffic enforcement, body cameras for officers, enhanced training, and the establishment of a clear grievance redress system.

For now, the presence of FRSC or other federal agents on southern highways is more likely to evoke fear than a sense of public order—fueling calls for urgent and meaningful reform.

Foreign AffairsWhat’s The B-2 Warplane, Its Cost, And Why America Won’t Sell It by Spectators(op): 1:43pm On Jun 22, 2025
What’s the B-2 Warplane, Its Cost, and Why America Won’t Sell It

The B-2 Spirit, often referred to as the "Stealth Bomber," is one of the most advanced and secretive military aircraft in the world — and also among the most expensive. Developed by Northrop Grumman for the United States Air Force, the B-2 is a strategic bomber capable of delivering both conventional and nuclear weapons. But beyond its cutting-edge stealth technology and immense capabilities lies a deeper reason why the U.S. government refuses to sell it — not even to its closest allies.

What is the B-2 Bomber?

The B-2 Spirit is a long-range, heavy-payload stealth bomber designed to penetrate dense anti-aircraft defenses. First introduced in 1997, the aircraft can travel over 6,000 nautical miles without refueling and can carry up to 40,000 pounds of weapons, including nuclear payloads. Its most remarkable feature is its stealth technology, which makes it nearly invisible to radar, giving it a strategic edge in warfare.

The B-2’s unique flying-wing design, coated with radar-absorbent material, allows it to evade even the most sophisticated enemy air defense systems, making it the centerpiece of America’s strategic deterrence capabilities.

How Much Does It Cost?

The B-2 is often dubbed the most expensive aircraft ever built. The original procurement cost was around $737 million per unit, but when factoring in research, development, and maintenance infrastructure, the cost soars to over $2 billion per plane. Only 21 units were ever produced, making it one of the rarest and most elite aircraft in military aviation history.

Why America Won’t Sell the B-2

Despite its alliance with countries like the United Kingdom, Japan, and NATO members, the United States has consistently refused to export the B-2 for several reasons:

1. National Security Concerns: The stealth technology embedded in the B-2 remains one of America's most closely guarded military secrets. Allowing any form of transfer risks exposing that technology, even to allies.

2. Nuclear Capability: The B-2 is specifically designed to deliver nuclear weapons, and sharing such capability would conflict with global non-proliferation treaties and strategic doctrines.

3. High Cost and Maintenance: The astronomical cost of building and maintaining the B-2 makes it an unrealistic purchase for most countries. Additionally, it requires highly specialized maintenance, which is centralized in the U.S.

4. Limited Fleet: With only 20 operational aircraft (after one crash in 2008), the B-2 fleet is incredibly small. Each plane is a strategic asset, and none are available for export without compromising the U.S. Air Force’s deterrence posture.

What’s Next?

The B-2 Spirit is expected to remain in service until at least 2032, when it will be gradually replaced by the next-generation B-21 Raider, which promises to be more cost-effective while retaining advanced stealth capabilities. However, much like its predecessor, the B-21 is also expected to be kept exclusively for American use.

In a world of shifting alliances and rising global tensions, the B-2 remains a symbol of America’s unmatched air power — and a reminder of the high stakes in military technology secrecy.

Chinedu Onwudebe, husband of Chinasa Odeka—the woman featured in a viral sex tape—has spoken out for the first time, sharing his side of the story in what he describes as a painful saga of betrayal, abuse, and humiliation over the course of their 24-year marriage.

In an emotional interview, the 59-year-old from Ogboji, Anambra State, revealed that his wife introduced the man in the video, identified as Ichie Obiora, to him as her cousin. Trusting her, he accepted Obiora into their home and treated him like family.

“I didn’t know all her cousins, so I had no reason to doubt her,” Onwudebe said. “Obiora even bought phones for our children and promised to buy me a bus.”

But things took a dark turn. In 2020, Onwudebe claimed he returned home one day to find Obiora in their bedroom. Despite his suspicions, his wife insisted on maintaining contact with the man, leading to growing tensions and eventually, physical confrontations.

The situation exploded into public view when a sex tape allegedly featuring Chinasa and Obiora surfaced online. The video, reportedly leaked by one of Chinasa’s daughters, sparked outrage within their community. A group of women, known locally as Umunada, attempted to stage a protest against Chinasa but were stopped by village elders.

Chinasa, for her part, defended her actions, accusing her husband of years of neglect and abuse. She claimed Onwudebe beat her so severely at times that she had to be hospitalized—and it was Obiora, she said, who came to her rescue.

While Onwudebe admitted to beating his wife, he insisted it was in response to her repeated infidelities. “I married her because she was hardworking and beautiful,” he said. “But her lifestyle destroyed our family.”

He recounted a violent altercation during a visit to an apartment he claims Obiora rented for Chinasa. “I went there to retrieve my motorcycle. She came out half-naked, pushed me off it, and bit my hip. Obiora punched me and knocked out one of my teeth. My daughter even hit me with a weapon. I passed out.”

Onwudebe also alleged that Chinasa had manipulated police against him over the years, getting him arrested multiple times based on false accusations. “But once I explained my side, they saw through her lies. In one case, she was even detained instead,” he claimed.

One of the most painful consequences, Onwudebe said, was being cut off from his only son for more than two years. “They told me they didn’t know where he was, only to later admit he had been sent away to learn a trade—without my knowledge or consent.”

Asked why he never retaliated against Obiora, Onwudebe cited fear. According to him, Chinasa warned that Obiora was a dangerous vigilante operative with access to charms and the ability to “disappear and reappear at will.”

“She said he could frame or kill me if I ever challenged him,” he said.

Reflecting on the entire ordeal, Onwudebe expressed regret and sorrow. “I stayed, hoping she’d change. I didn’t want to believe she was unfaithful—until that video proved otherwise.”

He denied having any role in leaking the sex tape, stating it was one of his daughters who first sent it to him and later shared it with someone else, who allegedly uploaded it to social media.

“I’ve lost my wife, my son, and my peace of mind,” Onwudebe said. “All because I trusted the wrong people.”

Man Calls Out ‘Hookup’ Married Woman for Failing to Show Up After Receiving N45,000 (VIDEO)

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to accuse a self-employed woman of breaching an agreement after receiving a payment of N45,000.

In a video recorded in Yoruba and laced with sarcasm, the unnamed man narrated how he paid the woman, identified in the receipt as Ajara Salewa, for a private rendezvous. However, according to him, she neither showed up nor answered his calls afterward.

He explained that after two weeks of being ignored, he contacted her using a different phone number. When she finally answered, she claimed her mother had passed away, which was why she couldn’t fulfill the agreement.

Despite the explanation, the man said the woman continued to ignore his calls and refused to refund the money. He added that when he threatened to expose her publicly, she dared him to proceed, saying he would be the one to face disgrace.

The man has now followed through on his threat, sharing a video online that includes the receipt of the N45,000 payment and a photo allegedly of the woman involved.
