PoliticsRe: American Ridicules Lagos From The Air by spiderman(m): 1:44pm On Jan 07, 2010
I believe most commercial cities all over the world have this sort of problem, but i also think he should have mentioned that the area shown is a high density area and some part of the island are not quite as densely populated and are actually quite "green friendly";but then, my dear Lagosians, dont expect anybody to promote your city for you, there are lots of budding short-movie producers in Lagos, well, u have just been thrown a challenge grin

@poster :

I blame his father fro introducing him to Islam. Anyone who introduces his child to Islam have introduced him or her to terrorism and should not be surprised when the child becomes a suicide bomber.

Islam is evil .
u know in order to express an informed and accurate opinionon on an issue or about a person or group u need to have a good idea of what they are about, i am a muslim, proud of it and without any intension of blowing up anybody; so what does that make me?? If Islam were evil like u said then quite a large number of people on this planet are "evilians" but thats not what Islam is about. I challenge u to get some literature bout the religion study it (without prejudice) and see if u dont change your views. I respect the fact that ure entitled to ur opinion however i also feel such opinions should be based on facts and not hear-say.l undecided
Nairaland GeneralRe: Ambulance Drivers & Misuse Of Siren. by spiderman(m): 3:55pm On Dec 23, 2009
MUZBO:
Sincerely I don't see why you are blaming ambulances for use of siren. If you are talking about a hearse using a siren then I'll accept because its a big difference. Lets face facts, you cant see whats inside an ambulance so how can you tell its a dead body or guns thats being transported? How many of you respondents have given way to a siren blaring ambulance on the road? But I'm sure you'll almost drive off the road for one useless siren blaring Hilux transporting an expatriate because the occupants have guns. Please poster lets get things straight here; a hearse in a funeral procession is not an ambulance on duty so don't generalise and confuse us!
but really how many dead bodies are "freighted" in hearseshuh probably the dead of the rich and the dead rich, like u said one cannot tell who the occupants of these ambulances are; dead or alive, so i think when u hear the siren, its best to just give way, u just might be helping save a life, undecided
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Soludo Caused The Massive Bank Layoffs by spiderman(m): 3:19pm On Dec 23, 2009
stealth01:
Jodeci it is because of psychofans and praise singers like you that this country is yet to be developed and the sooner we start holding our leaders accountable for their actions and non-actions the better for all of us and if you are well informed you would have heard the present governor admit the failure of the regulatory framework of the previous CBN administration

Fire007 On the contrary, I am not a fan of your so called “silly mallam” neither do I approve of his recent unreserved comments in the media (considering the sensitive nature of his office), I also do not support the manner in which the banking reform was executed as there was obviously some selective justice in the decisions that were taken but the truth of the matter is that “if wasn’t broken in the first place there wouldn’t have been any need to fix it”

Before you come out to make public comments like “the banks were all fine” you need to have sufficient information to prove it. There’s enough data to show that these stressed banks were frequent borrowers in the Expanded Discount Window of the CBN (created by Charles Soludo) which is more than enough reason to tell you these banks were virtually struggling to meet their obligations locally and internationally

Also, if Mr. Akingbola’s bank was fine before Sanusi Lamido took over affairs at CBN and he has nothing to hide why hasn’t he surrendered himself to the authorities for investigation up till now?

The problem with us Nigerians is that we celebrate mediocrity in the lives of our leaders but until we make our leaders accountable for their actions we cannot make headway.
We need to put in place systems that would make anyone seeking political offices understand that such positions are meant for service and not to feed their greed

Ceebee I agree with you that we may be heading for a negative progression but you should note that the seed Soludo sowed while in office was that of bad leadership which must not be celebrated both in the past and recent CBN administrations

I am not from the eastern part of the country neither am I a northerner but I foresee a Soludo if elected to be governor of any state in this country would not represent the interest of the people but choose to pursue a selfish agenda

The harm he caused the industry and society at large due to his lax supervision while at the Apex bank is enough reason for him to drop his political agenda if he has an atom of conscience left in him.
i must say, ur' observations are spot-on and it appears u have a sound understanding of the issues at hand. I find Soludo a big disappointment especially coming from the back-drop of his "achievements" with capital base consolidation; (though even that could be called to question now). He toyed with the life-savings of Nigerians to cover-up the iniquitous acts of members of his "gang"(bank chiefs). I dont think he deserves to hold any public office but the decision lies with his people and we should respect how they vote regardless of our opinions.

I voted for yar'adua. But if he is no longer able to lead, he should hand over to goodluck. The north should stop mounting pressure on vp to resign. This nation belongs to us all. I'm igbo and have never known what it feels like to have a brother as president.
why on earth should the next in line to the presidency resignhuh? just cause he's not from the north?? when are we going to start thinking as Nigerians and not hausa, igbo or yoruba, fellow NIGERIANS lets pray for our dear fatherland,

ps: that intro too long now, haba, wish one u dey undecided

Are we not misplacing our priorities; this is an incredible amount of money to spend on people who go to the house just to hang-out with friends and cronies. We know we need this tier of governance to complete the "3 arms" of government but sometimes 3 can be crowd; in this case a very expensive crowd to care for.

BusinessBe Careful With That Atm Card by spiderman(op): 3:15pm On Sep 19, 2007
I recently discovered illegal withdrawals from my current account via ATM transactions. I had applied for and received an ATM card from my bank (IBTC chartered bank, Bello rd, Kano) but discovered that someone else was making withdrawals from my account apparently with another card, on investigation it was discovered that all the illegal withdrawals were made on the same machine located at another bank. I was advised by my bank to withdraw the card and write officially complaining about the withdrawals which i did.

Well its been 2 months now and i am yet to hear from my bank. I lost a sizeable chunk of the funds i had in that account to the fraudstar(s) and i must admit it was quite painful.

Has anyone experienced the same problem? pls let me know and if you carry that card BE CAREFUL!!!

i have already engaged the services of some top artistes based here. Obj is perharps my best catch
it appears we would require little or no make up to make him look like a villain. If Yar adua can stay alive till shooting
starts we might employ him too he would make a good deputy villain or what do you think i would appreciate your contributions to make
spiderman 4 the best ever grin grin.
