RomanceSingle On Val Day???? by SPIFF(op): 4:58pm On Feb 12, 2013
SINGLE ON VAL DAYhuh?

Valentine’s Day -- a day of exchanging flowers, cards, and loving sentiments punctuated with warm feelings of admiration, affection, and infatuation. But for millions of Americans, there is one thing preventing them from participating in these celebratory acts of love: A date.

Being dateless on Valentine’s Day can evoke feelings of loneliness and self-doubt, especially for those who are believers in the mythology of true love. But what is a person to do when he or she is feeling the chilling blues of being single instead of embracing the fiery desire of love?

The following are more ways that single men and women can enjoy Valentine’s Day without worrying about the pressures and pitfalls that often come with the holiday:

1. Do not define yourself by your relationship status. Your relationship status is not your identity.

2. If you are single because of a recent loss, allow this to be a day of grieving. Do not pretend that it’s not a hard day. Get support and sympathy.

3. Realize that Valentine’s Day is a commercial holiday. It is not about love and relationships; it is about selling flowers, candy, and diamond jewelry. Think of all the money you are saving.

4. Plan well in advance to do something that will not place you in the path of billing and cooing couples. Even if you usually like dining out alone, do something else on Valentine’s Day.

5. Get together with people who do love you -- friends, family members, the people who already have relationships with you.

6. If you are single and you don’t want to be, start now to think about what is in the way of you creating the relationship you want. Find ways to work on becoming the person your dream partner would fall in love with. Create art. Make meaning. Act to change the world. It is into the fullest lives that love is most likely to fall.

7. If you are single and you like it, now is the time to affirm your choice. People who never marry or partner have close, loving, emotionally intimate relationships and lives worth living. Do not let a couple-driven culture define your choice as something wrong.
RomanceHow To Avoid Ruining Your Marriage (for Married Men) by SPIFF(op): 4:46pm On Feb 12, 2013
How To Avoid Ruining Your Marriage (for married men)
--------------------------

Rule 1: Never Be Unfaithful To Your Wife

This is a biggie. Marriage is sacred - whether you are religious or not. Being unfaithful to your wife not only proves to her that you disrespect her, but also that you are untrustworthy. Simply never even think about doing it, much less actually doing it. The excitement of an illicit affair is simply not worth the pain it brings.

Rule 2: Never Lie To Your Wife

Being truthful, and speaking only the truth, is the only way to ensure that you are never "caught out." If you lie to your wife you will be caught out at some stage, and then she will wonder how many other lies you have told her, and whether you can be trusted at all. It might be painful to tell the truth, but it is always less painful than being caught out lying.

Rule 3: Never Listen Half-heartedly When She Talks

Not listening when someone speaks is rude and shows disrespect for the person. If you do this your wife will grow to resent talking to you, and that is not a good position to get into in your relationship. Concentrate on what she says, and respond intelligently.

Rule 4: Don't Neglect To Assist With Household Tasks

This is an area where many men are guilty. If you do not assist your wife with the household tasks you communicate to her that she is only your slave. On its own it can already destroy any feelings that your wife has for you, and together with the other things we mention it just makes things worse. Help her with household tasks - and not only every now and then either. No, make it a habit to help her, and watch how her respect for you grows.

Rule 5: Do Not Point Out Her Shortcomings

We all have shortcomings because nobody is perfect. I bet you don't like it when someone points out your shortcomings to you, do you? No? Then do you think your wife enjoys it? Of course she doesn't. And she likes it even less when the person closest to her - her husband - is the one bringing it up. Only someone with a caveman attitude could argue that she "just has to take it" because she is inferior in any case. She is not inferior - God has made her extra special, in fact.

Rule 6: Do Not Lie On The Couch / Watch TV While She Works

We get back to the slave issue again. In the previous article I already pointed out that you should not let your wife get the impression that she is only a slave to you. Lying on the couch and leaving your wife to do all the work is nothing other than letting her be your slave. This type of behavior screams at your wife that you have no respect for her. If you indulge in this behavior you should NOT be surprised if she leaves you for someone who treats her with respect.

Rule 7: Help Her With The Children

We are decades past the time when it was the "little woman's job" to raise the kids, while her husband went out with his buddies. Not helping her with the kids - that YOU helped her produce, by the way - is not only part of your responsibility, but will also strengthen your relationship both with your wife and your children. An actively involved father is one way of ensuring well-balanced kids.

Rule 8: Do Not Compare Her To Other Women

How many guys can be married to the most beautiful woman on earth? Only one, because there is only one most beautiful woman. The others are second most beautiful, third most beautiful, etc. So there are ample opportunities to see women with lovelier hair, more beautiful eyes, trimmer figures, better legs, a tighter butt, slimmer tummy, etc. than your wife. But do you really have to pint this out? How would you like it if she begins to compare you to Kevin Costner, Brad Pitt and Leonardo di Caprio? Or to the better looking guy next door? Keep away from this destructive behavior and rather look for things to compliment her on. That will build you relationship rather than breaking it.

Rule 9: Do Not Criticize Everything She Does

Remember that criticism is one of the most destructive things we can do, so beware of this. If you want to criticize, rather think of another way of approaching the issue. Instead of saying, "Not fish again? You know I hate fish!" you could say, "Honey, even though I don't like fish, I know that the Omega oils are good for me and that you prepare it because you care for my health." That takes the criticism - and therefore the sting - out of what you say.

Rule 10: Do Not Leave Her Sexually Unsatisfied

A proper orgasm (or two or three or four orgasms) is something that gives your wife massive joy. It is your task, no your privilege, to assist her to reach massively satisfying, mind blowing orgasms. You should not have a "get" attitude towards sex (getting what you want), but rather a "give" attitude (giving her what she wants). If you just get on her, and roll over once you are done, then there is no joy in it for your wife. Remember that to your wife sex is almost as much an emotional act as it is a physical one. Learn all you can about becoming the type of lover for whom your wife will be glad to strip her clothes because you satisfy both her emotional and physical sexual needs.

10 interesting facts about Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein, the kid with abnormally large head who was unable to talk until he was four, later became world’s most remarkable Physicist. Later he won a Nobel Prize for his work and also named as Man of the Century by Time magazine but amazingly he was not that good at studies. His results were always poor and he once failed his university entrance exam. He was short of memory and mostly used to forget his tasks.

This post is dedicated to Albert Einstein and we’ll try to list 10 cool and interesting facts about him.

As he didn’t talk until he was four, his parents were worried about him. But once while they were on the supper table, he broke his four year silence and said “”The soup is too hot.”
He never loved hair cuts and wearing socks while sailing and violin were his passions. He named his violin Lina.
After Einstein’s death, his brain was removed from his head without bringing in his family’s knowledge. This immoral act was done by Dr. Thomas Harvey who wanted to conduct a search on his brain. He was later permitted by Einstein’s son Hans Einstein.
He had a very bad memory and he could not remember dates and phone numbers, in fact he even didn’t knew what his own phone number was.
Once his mathematics professor called him a lazy dog because he could not find Einstein’s interest in studies.
He was inspired by a compass which was gifted to him by his father while he was sick at age of 5. It was the start of his interest in science.
In 1952, he was offered the presidency of Israel but he politely refused the offer.
Almost all of his work is remarkable, but he got unimaginable fame when his paper on mass-energy equivalence was published.
He used to charge people for his autographed and donate all this money to charity.
In 1951, while leaving a party with his friends, he was rushed by a photographer who asked him to smile for a photograph. But Einstein who was already tired, just stuck his tongue out instead of a smile. The photographer luckily captured this memorable moment.

PhonesTurn Any Surface Into A Virtual Iphone Keyboard by SPIFF(op): 10:05am On Feb 08, 2013
Turn any Surface into a Virtual iPhone Keyboard

While most people speculate and theorize about the future, some others make it obsolete by achieving today what seems to be improbable or even impossible, hence making the future a thing of the past. This time, the defendant is University of London’s student Florian Kraeutli, who developed a (wait for it !) Virtual keyboard for iPhone , using an accelerometer to teach each tapping made on a surface to the iPhone so the gadget can remember it. Sounds like a wacky but useless application at the first time, doesn’t it? Maybe it is. And maybe we’re wrong!

I think I’ve seen this approach somewhere else
Looking back some time, there were virtual laser keyboards that you could use on any flat surface. The motion sensors detect a key being pressed on the virtual keyboard, and this movement is then transmitted to the connected device. It didn’t get that much of a hype as it was too expensive and didn’t also perform in the best conditions if you were traveling, as the movement could cause you to stroke a wrong key, even though it could be used virtually with any device like a mobile phone or a tablet. This new invention is somewhat different though, as it uses key stroke strength and vibration patterns to tell the device which key is being pressed.

Status of the application
Using it is rather simple: you put the iPhone on top of a paper sheet with a delimiting area, with all the keyboard keys below. The idea is to have it near the keys so when you tap them the phone will receive the vibrations and transform each into a character, then a word (that is presented through a dictionary on the phone) and then it is inserted. So far, the accuracy rate is in the 80% outskirts, which is encouraging on one hand but still not enough, as Florian says. Besides being a cool app, so far it’s only intended for the iPhone, but if released for other devices it may well be something to watch

Nairaland GeneralGirls! Ladies!! Women!!! by SPIFF(op): 3:38pm On Feb 06, 2013
GIRLS! LADIES!! WOMEN!!!

Women are a precious gift from God but there are some things that all men need to know. Women are by far the deeper and more powerful of the two sexes. No matter how strong a man thinks he is, he is like butter in the hands of a woman that he loves. It is only a woman that can carry a child for nine months and raise that child to adulthood and yet until the day that that woman dies only she will know the real father of that child. Women are more discerning than men, more calculating, more thoughtful, more spiritual, more loyal, and more disciplined and they can handle emotional pain and psychological torture far better than men. A woman can suffer trauma, deprivation, shame, sheer cruelty and beatings from a man and still stay with him simply for the sake of the children. A woman can do anything and take anything for, or from, a man that she truly loves. A woman can be the most vicious and dangerous of all God's creatures when she is hurt and scorned and when her love is not returned.
A woman can kill a man that she has lived with all her life, simply because he never returned her love and a woman can kill for or die for a man who loves her and stands by her through thick and thin. If you are rich, pretend that you are poor to a woman and you will know her true nature. If you are poor, pretend that you are rich to a woman and you will know what she is really after. A woman that abandons a man when he is going through difficulties is not worth taking back when those challenges have been overcome. Beware of a woman's love, for at the slightest hurt, it can turn to hate. Women gossip and talk, yet a woman keeps deeper secrets than any man.

When a woman says "no" she actually means "maybe" and when she says "maybe" she actually means "yes". You cannot police a woman or really know her movements for she can be the greatest deceiver: if she really wants to play, she will go ahead and play and no matter the efforts that her man makes, it is only by divine intervention that he will ever know. A woman is moved by touch whilst a man is moved by sight. A woman will die for her children and guard her home with all she has. A woman craves for security and commitment above all else and without these two she cannot truly be happy. A woman gives, a woman takes, a woman laughs, a woman cries, yet through all this only she alone knows what is really in her heart. A woman can heave and moan in the throes of orgasmic passion, yet deep down she feels nothing at all but pity and contempt for the lover that she is deceiving. A woman can lie still and say she feels nothing yet her heart trembles and races and her senses come alive and quiver deeply just at the sound and by the touch of the man that she truly desires. That is a woman for you: they can be a snare or a blessing. They can bring joy or pain. They can wound or they can heal. They are a beautiful contradiction of love and hate and we men simply cannot live without them.

A woman is irrepressable, unbeatable, unfathomable, irresistible and unknowable and my advice to every man is to cherish her, to love her and to grant her, her hearts deepest desires. That is the secret to a woman's heart and what more is there to say, other than for us to admit that the woman is the true hero of our lives and to simply agree that we must appease and worship them and do all we can to keep those pretty smiles on their beautiful yet dangerous faces.
