PoliticsShould We Pay To Obtain Police Reports? by SPIFF(op): 2:43pm On Nov 24, 2012
That they say Police is your friend, we all know it's a fallacy. I was just rattled to what depth these uniform guys can go.
Last Tuesday at about 9:30am, my friend's bag (a lady) was snatched on Okada. The bag contains vital document and police report is required for replacement. The officer that we reported to collected 1k for filing in the incident. After submitting sworn affidavit, police report was prepared but the officer in-charge said he can't release until we pay 3k. Kept wondering should we pay for police report.

They were arrested at Ifitedunu in Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State by policemen from Fegge Police Stattion, Onitsha, for failure to pay the N20,000 to a woman Uchenna’s father allegedly did business with.

PoliticsObasanjo: "The Danger Posed By Unemployed Youths Is Real & Potent by SPIFF(op): 2:18pm On Nov 12, 2012
Obasanjo: "The Danger Ahead Is Real and Potent, Revolution Coming"

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed fears that Nigeria will witness a revolution soon unless government takes urgent steps to check growing youth unemployment and poverty.

Speaking at the West African regional conference on youth employment in Dakar, Senegal at the weekend, Obasanjo said the danger posed by an army of unemployed youth in Nigeria can only be imagined.

"I'm afraid, and you know I am a General. When a General says he is afraid, that means the danger ahead is real and potent," he said.

Obasanjo added that despite what he called the imminent threat to Nigeria's nationhood "there is absence of serious, concrete, realistic, short and long term solution" to youth unemployment.

He made reference to the doctorate degree holders who applied for jobs as drivers at the Dangote Group, saying Nigerian youths have been patient enough and that this patience will soon reach its elastic limit.

According to the former president, youth unemployment rate which was 72% in 1999 when he took over power had been reduced to 52% by 2004 but that the rate rocketed to 71% by 2011.

Obasanjo left office in 2007, succeeded by Umaru Yar'Adua who died in 2010, and President Jonathan has been in office since then.

The former president lamented that the unemployment situation had given rise to the prevalence of social crimes being perpetrated by three categories of youth whom he identified as area boys, Yahoo boys and, recently, Blackberry boys

He told the diverse audience that in Nigeria people talk of growth without corresponding development, and that what is visible is increased poverty

Obasanjo said national leaders must create incentives that will encourage entrepreneurs to flourish and that special attention should be given to agriculture business as against mere farming.

He reiterated the need for easy access to land and micro credit, while advocating for a review of school curriculum to enable undergraduates spend additional one year to learn entrepreneurship.

At the sub-regional level, Obasanjo called for a review of the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) to accommodate issues of youth unemployment and job creation.

The conference, which was sponsored by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the African Development Bank, was attended by top bankers from across Africa including the Managing Director of Nigeria's Bank of Industry, Ms. Evelyn Oputu.

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Right To Bosom Feed A Baby In Church? by SPIFF(m): 11:22pm On Nov 04, 2012
In my church, it's not allowed to breastfeed in church. there's a nursing mothers room. You go there to do that. They even make provision if you want to spoonfeed them or change their diapers. To me, it's not proper to do such inside the church. it gets some people distracted especially men.

I actually don't know under which group this writeup should fall into. Moderator. if there's s need to move it, plz do so.

A poor boy who was begging from door to door to feed his hungry stomach, decided he would ask for a meal at next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young girl opened the door. Instead of a meal, he asked for a glass of water. The girl thought, he looked hungry. So, she brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it slowly, & asked thereafter: how much do I owe you? You don't owe me anything, she replied. Mother has tot us never to accept pay 4 kindness. He said, then I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Years later, dat girl (now a woman)became critically ill, & d local doctors tried their best possible to save her soul, but they couldn't cure her. They finally sent her to d big city, where specialists studied her rare illness. Dr. Kelly was called in for d consultation, when he heard d name of d town where she came from, a strange light filled his eyes. Immediately, he rose & went down d hall of d hospital to her room. He recognized her at once. He went back to d consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day, he gave special attention to dt case. After a long struggle, d battle was won! Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He lukd at it, then wrote smetn on d bill. It was sent to her room, d woman feared opening it, 4 she was sure it might take d rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, & noticed something was written at the edge of the note, 'Paid In Full With a Glass of Milk'. Tears filled her eyes as she immediately remembered. Every form of kindness U show is never in vain, it reproduces itself. Not necessarily be4 your eyes, but it always does. I've been kind 2 U by sharing this story with U. So, be kind 2 share it with odas. It is gd 2 be gd. Always be nice 4 it always come back 2 you.smiley.
RomanceRe: Did I Advised Rightly? by SPIFF(op): 6:04am On Oct 12, 2012
She is as guilty as her husband. Why would
she throw him a silly bait which he
eventually fell for and say he is a cheat?
She only got what she deserves.

She needed a proof or verification of her curiosity. I guess that's her best way to find out. Mind you they are living continents apart and social media I guess is the fastest mean of getting to him.

Thanks so much for every comment thus far. Why I took that stand was that I knew the two of them separately before they got married. I know their characters. I just felt mmaybe that's their first test of their true love.
RomanceDid I Advised Rightly? by SPIFF(op): 3:41pm On Oct 10, 2012
A friend needed my advice.

Though living continents apart, She suspected her husband might be cheatn on her. She trapped him. Opened new Facebk account with a different name and nice pix to get to him.

He fell for it. Said so many unimaginable things about his wife to this new stranger and that he's ready to divorce her asap. She later revealed her true identity. Caught him redheaded.

She's ready to end the 5 month wedding because of that but I advised otherwise. Told her to reconcile and forgive him since he has apologized and begged for her forgiveness.

Plz is that a wise advice I gave.

I was in the same scenario like that. my wife can't cook. although she can do most house chores by herself. after marriage, I enrolled her in a catering school but u know abinibi can't be like ability. whenever I want to really enjoy my meal, I do the cooking myself. there are also some aspects that she leaves out for to do cos she knows she will mess it up.

I was initially upset with her mum that she ddnt teach her daughter how to cook but since it's a problem with a solution, I have gone past that.
