If u have never served in the war front, you are never a complete soldier.

Most of these people spend all their lives in d barrack cos they gat papa at the top.

No field experience yet they are promoted regularly at the expense of those risking their lives to protect our country.
Most soldiers have never shot a gun in their lives except for when they are rehearsing, you're talking about war front. War front is too far na. Some of them the only difference between them and civilians is their training but in practice, some civilians have seen more wars and released more bullets than them.

John Terry has to be number one there. Terry and Lampard are the two greatests defenders and midfielders in the premier league history while scoring the most goals. Terry outscored most midfielders and Lampard outscored most strikers in the league. Terry >>> Ferdinand
Lampard >>>> Gerard.

That was how they ran to LP following Obi's reign and started defecting to the APC in droves after the elections. They've started with ADC again.

Shawarmagirl:
When I was still in Nigeria 2023, I resigned from my job of 400k monthly to pick up another multinational job of 250k. People talked me down and I was also scared too. My decision is because the new job offers sponsorship abroad to their staff at interval and I had the plan of travelling but I don't have the finance. So I see the company as sure bet for me to use achieve my travelling plans.

Sorry short, I travelled as planned and I have been in the UK since 2023 till now.

Lesson: if I had consider the salary of 400k compared to that of 250k, probably I would have been facing Tinubulation now.
People in the UK what are you guys still doing on Nairaland?

I worked as a barber for 2 years, in my first year as a barber , I had 1.2m naira savings between 2013 January to February 2014.

So you see, I had enough capital to go into trading. Besides, you don't need huge funds to start trading crypto. But I came in with over 1.8m naira then. I bought 1 Bitcoin, 100 , ethereum, dogecoin , several thousands amongst several others
For you to save 1.2m in one year meant you were saving 100k per month. What kind of barbing job will give you enough to save 100k monthly because you have to be earning like 400k to successfully save 100k monthly. Anyway, it might be possible since you were not paying rent thanks to the Cele Church, you were not paying bills either thanks to the same church. And you didn't have a family to take care of or send money back home. It was just you without rent, girlfriend and bills. Because that's the only way this your story adds up to make a meaning.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Navy Inaugurates First Marines To Boost Maritime, Land Security by Spiff20(m): 4:39pm On Feb 28
So many redundant units. They just keep establishing more to enrich a few. We already have too many special forces including DSS and JTF. We have Sars, various squads, vigilantes, diverse local security outfits, including all the arms of the Navy, Police, Army and Air Force. Yet, crime pervades our enclaves like a virus, undisturbed, wrecking havoc on every path it crosses.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Navy Inaugurates First Marines To Boost Maritime, Land Security by Spiff20(m): 4:36pm On Feb 28
JuanDeDios:
For the Navy, I think it's just SBS and Marines. The Deep Blue Sea Project is not a unit of the Navy. It's a task force set up to tackle specific security challenges and has personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy and DSS.

On your last line, I hear they do have a lot of canteens and mammy markets, so enough work for the nonspecial guys, I guess.
Sometimes I just wonder what Navy and Army personnel do on a regular day. Aside the ones fighting wars in the North. The rest in barracks across the east, West and south, what do they do on a regular day? Just wear their uniforms and roam about until month end then cash out? I mean we have over 50,000 personnel in the army, Navy and Air Force, and when we are not at war, what exactly are they doing?
RomanceRe: It Seems Whatsapp Is No Longer A Good Medium To Woo Women by Spiff20(m): 11:02am On Feb 26
Lanre1st:
My observation.

People are more satisfied with engaging in posting and check photos, pictures, videos, reels, pranks ,on social media than chatting and reading.

Because, I can tell many people spend more time on social media, they just choose not to type or comment but rather preffer hitting the like button
True. Those people who reply one lines in chats and take ages to reply are always online, scrolling, liking and commenting on their favorite posts. But to chat is a problem. Social media takes a sizable chunk of your brain especially women. Makes them duller.
RomanceRe: It Seems Whatsapp Is No Longer A Good Medium To Woo Women by Spiff20(m): 10:56am On Feb 26
TimiofAbuja:
I don't like chatting, I prefer calling
Chatting beats calling everyday especially in awkward situations where you don't know what to reply, you can just keep quiet while thinking of something. But on calls, that thinking of something airtime is burning or if it's Whatsapp call, the silence alone while thinking is super embarrassing. And in chats you can bolt out whenever you want but on calls there must be a closing remark. Chat gives you liberty and flexibility. You can reply a message anytime you want. But when you're too busy for calls, some important messages may fly past you. In chats it'll just wait for you until you're available to read and reply. Chat is convenient, calls are traditional, boring, and stressful. There's a reason Whatsapp is more popular than some phones and Network providers. If you still prefer calls to chats in 2026, then you must have a hard time adapting to changes. However, there are specific cases where calls are paramount but that's 10% of the time.
CultureRe: Aerial View Of The Argungu Fishing Festival In Kebbi State by Spiff20(m): 9:58am On Feb 15
Pls what is this? What has the north got to do with a fishing festival when they have more dry lands than water? This is supposed to be a southern event. Oh, it's even a shallow river because all their legs are on the ground. I can't take this seriously and to think that Tinubu was there. When it comes to festivals leave it to the South.

was the King Solomon not wealthy?
Even Alexander the great stated something about vanity as well
Yet he was very wealthy as well.
So regardless of the vanity statements, they still tried to have more until their death.
The bottom line is it's only when we die everything ends, as long as we are still on this earth, man must work to chop
And if man works and make a lot of money, he may not have to work harder in retirement.
He wouldn't have to do hard labor self at old age.
So na poor man mentality dey make people talk down on expensive stuffs
He said it's a poor man mentality and I was only reminding him that the mentality itself was introduced by the rich.

CultureRe: Dispelling The Myopic Narrative That Ikwerre's Don't Travel by Spiff20(op): 9:52am On Feb 15
AlphaTaikun:
That's an insightful and brilliant post on the indigenous Ikwerre folks of Rivers State and their travel habits.

As a globally well-traveled man for decades now, I can say WITHOUT a shadow of doubt that there are indeed Ikwerres in Lagos State and the United States for instance, so its a testament to the FACT that Ikwerres do travel out of their traditional Rivers State ecosystem. I knew two Ikwerres while attending an elite high school with bording facilities in a major Northern Nigerian State several decades back (we used to affordably fly as students via Nigeria Airways, Okada Air or Kabo Air as of the 1980s from Lagos to school), who are from prominent families in PH.
Herbert Wigwe himself was from an Ikwerre family lineage (his father was even an army officer serving in Abeokuta as of 1966 when the FIRST EVER ill-advised Military coup by those youngsters took place) and he bestrode the financial and corporate landscape of Nigeria like a colossus right from Lagos State, one of the main commercial hubs of Nigeria till he unfortunately passed on with some of his nuclear family members and close associate, the Ogun State-born Abimbola Ogunbanjo that 'copter crash in California.

https://www.channelstv.com/2024/02/11/just-in-access-holdings-confirms-death-of-wigwe-wife-son-in-us-helicopter-crash/
Thank you Sir for your 2 cents. Ikwerre is only an ethnicity in a broader Rivers State and the generalization is simply biased.

There are some things I will NEVER buy with my money even if I'm the richest man on earth.

You see that Tesla cybertruck wey people dey crazy about, if dem dash me sef I go sell am and use the money buy beta ride then keep the balance.
I can buy the cyber truck for its undeniable presence and versatility. A cyber truck can take me to my destination, and can keep me safe when inside since it's bulletproof. Inside there's luxury and aesthetics. It's a very functional vehicle that merits its price tag. But a watch, a watch to check time? I'd go with a bracelet and use my phone to check time. Why will you splash 50m dols on something that can't protect your wrist in the event of an attack? Or can't improve the efficacy of your hands? Just to check time and pass it on to generations. There are better heirlooms.

Rich man pikin without knowledge. The concept of vanity was actually popularized by the richest man ever in the Bible King Solomon. He said everything is vanity.
FashionRe: Top 8 Most Expensive Watches In The World by Spiff20(m): 12:21pm On Feb 14
Vanity upon vanity. Time is everywhere to check and when you want to sell it you have to find billionaires to buy. A thief can easily steal it and sell it for less. Vanity again. It can easily be misplaced. Vanity again. It won't tell you when you're about to die, another vanity. The watches should be named vanity in fact.
