deji2009: ATX Reset
If you have had any issues with you computer and phoned the help line number one
of the common things they will ask you to do is an ATX reset,
Basically this just resets the power supply in your computer
and in most cases can solve some power issues.

How to perform an ATX reset:

Disconnect the power from your computer.
If possible remove the battery and external devices.
Hold the power button for about 15 seconds
Reconnect the power
Press the power button to turn on your computer

then shutdown and put battery then star again to start
using windows normally

If this does not solve the power issue it may be the hardware its self
which is faulty and will need repairing or replacing.

Man, i did all those things. The laptop just dey misbehave sometimes. Do you know how much i can get a new HDD. If possible, the sizes and there prices. Am looking at 250GB and above

omega25red: you might want to try removing the RAM and replacing it to see if that would help out. I had a computer that wouldn't bootup because the RAM was bad.

pls i've done this but still wouldn't boot up. Pls any more ideas, am so frustrated about this.

deji2009: remove hard drive and see if it would boot
Should say no os found or flashing cursor
if you get that most likely is the hard drive

replace it and see what happened

I did this but to no avail, the toshiba logo is just the end point no matter what i tried

hi, pls my laptop is having a problem. Its a toshiba satellite pro L300, running windows 7.

I was having a hard disk failure, and last night, it crashed.
Now it doesn't boot up again, when i power it on, it just stops at the toshiba logo, even F2,F8 and F12 doesn't work.
It just keeps displaying the toshiba logo. One thing i noticed is that the hard disk doesn't load because the HDD access light blinks a bit and stops.

But, i thought if there is no HDD, it would load via disk or notify you that there is no HDD.

I can completely disassemble the Laptop myself, i did so and cut off the CMOS battery but to no avail.

Pls i would really appreciate any help from you guys, thanks a lot
