EreluY: Did you say "this is something that happens globally"? I beg to disagree. This is called unwanted sexual advances. Here in the UK, your job and professional registration in whichever field you're operating in will be on the line if you're accused of this and there is evidence to nail you. There doesn't even need to be an evidence. An accusation is enough to bring your career and reputation crawling. But then, who cares about reputation in our father land |

BarrEgo: Hello all. I'm an ardent fan of this website and of Justwise's but I often follow the discussions mutely. Anyways...Please, I'm a bit confused. I applied for Tier IV visa (a bit late) on 29/09/2015, attended my biometrics appointment on 12/10/2015, the docs arrived the UK on 13/10/2015 and when asked in my application form when I want to be in the UK I answered 16/10/2015, because the deadline for my uni's registration is 19/10/2015. Today I got an email TLSContact that my passport and docs are on their way to me, but nothing was said about a decision being made and the track your application page doesn't indicate whether or not a decision was made. Is this normal? Should I be worried? The docs will most likely be here (I'm writing from Netherlands) by tomorrow but my heart is pumping that something might be wrong. That is just 5 days processing period. I don't know about the duration of Netherlands but I am putting my money on outright refusal. |

justwise: I think what you will be given is some sort entry permit document in Nigeria then the BRP in the UK, not sure if it's the actual visa stamp though. Naah. I have a friend who just came and his passport was stamped with the usual visa but 30 days length. He then collected his BRP from the school |

justwise: That is normal, the card is the biometric residence permit(BRP) it replaces the visa stamp on your passport. Its more secured as it contains all your details including biometric He said it's his first time. I thought 30 days visa is issued first (on the passport) before you get to UK and collect your biometric card? |

surveyorng: I believe there's more to this issue than what we have read here. I don't want to believe that the decision of the council is deliberately to support falsification of any kind. Again, there's more to this. What else do you want to hear when the official response was this crap The only official response from the University on Mrs. Modum’s apparent string of forgeries came from the immediate past Vice Chancellor, Barth Okolo, who on December 14, 2012 stated, “Prof. (Mrs.) Modum might have made a mistake, but does not deserve all the insults. It is already too late to do anything since she has been educating students in the most excellent manner. What she did not have in publications, she now has in experience.”

sinkhole: I could and I have saved data on the microSD directly from the constructed weather station! What I am saying now is to have the weather station connect to the computer, either through wire or wireless, and then have a PC application access the weather station through the computer and then process the data for onward permanent storage on the PC. How is the whether station connected to the PC and is it permanently or just when data is needed? If you want it automated, then you need to include a wireless module to send the file to the PC. Then your program can work on the file |

HungerBAD: Not surprised.
It's either the UK or Malaysia, that the Name Nigeria is starting to become synonymous with absurd stories.
Some days ago, one in Malaysia wanted to do a 10 Seconds Rape in an Elevator, today one in London gave an *Happy Ending* to a woman who did not request to be happy.
Sadly, this is not their first time. This is the first time, they happened to be caught in Countries, where people are held accountable, for trying to make other people *happy* albeit, forcefully.
I have no pity for Rapists, Policemen, Murderers, Pedophiles and people with a perverted sense of pleasure.
he should have been given 30 Years.
The British are too lenient. Oga please shut up. Do you know how many of these stories happen in the UK on a daily? Especially people handling themselves in front of women in a public transport? And how many have you ever heard that are Nigerians? Now you want to put down your whole country for one man's sin abi? |

sinkhole: I have done some work with MCs: PIC and arduino board! I have also used atmega328 as a standalone module (it is the MC used in arduino). My main work has been in the construction of weather station, something to sense, process and record weather elements. But my main problem now is that I need a computer application that could connect with my weather station, take data from the station and do some processing on it and then get the processed data stored on my computer, in my specified format! I know what I want now has gone beyond an embedded electronics into the realm of software development, but any suggestion will be appreciated! From your description, it seems your whether sensor hardware does not save its data even though you used the word 'record'. The only approach here is you need the hardware to save its data. A small microSD would do. The way you retrieve the data is now your choice, either by push or pull (over a network) |

fratermathy: Hello Nairalander! ,
4. Igbo Nation The Igbo People occupy South Eastern and parts of South-Southern Nigeria which has states such as Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Delta North and Rivers. Igbo is one of the three major tribes of Nigeria. Igbo itself doesn't represent any particular group but it is an umbrella term for all Igboid groups such as Mbaise, Ika, Aniocha, Ikwerre(disputed), Orlu, etc. Igbos are highly creative and technocratic in Nature. They do well in business and technology. They have a strong family bond and every successful member of a family becomes the succour for others. Igbo traditional system is modelled after the Benin system. They usually have an Eze or Igwe who is either elected, is the oldest elder in the community or is inherited from father. The Igbos love class and elegance! They are self-preservative and fraternal in nature! They can be found in virtually every nook and cranny of the world. In fact, if you enter a place where there are no Igbos, please run away from there!!!. The Igbos usually dress with a trouser and a simple wool based shirt to go. The women dress like the Edo people with beads on the head. Some Igbo tribes tie a white wrapper across their shoulders. The Igbo people do not have an elected Eze/Igwe (King). There is nothing like Kingship in Igbo land. The idea of kingship was brought by the white man to help deceive organize natives for successful slave trading. We have a very popular saying, 'Igbo enweghi eze' (Igbo's don't have kings). And this goes to most tribes in Nigeria. We have communal leadership whereby old men of the community represents their communities and makes decisions which are heavily impacted by the people because these old men come from all social classes. The modern day kings and their royal families does not have any impact on the individuals in their communities, which is why they're now fully into politics, helping to perpetrate the scams of 'democracy' for their own gains (just like it was done during the slave trade). Nigerians need to educate themselves and know their roots instead of these childish online tribal wars |
