Usually cases jump by a factor of 10 in less than a week in areas that fail to adequately curtail it through effective contact tracing. Its obvious we can't escape the peak of this pandemic...........tough days lie ahead |

Images and footages coming from Europe and Italy in particular are really scary and calls for concern. The first 14 to 21 days from the outbreak plays a huge role on transmission and management. The ideal phase to curtail the virus would have been boarder control to prevent import of the virus but unfortunately poor governance and weak healthcare system has hindered us and we're left with the most difficult phase ' hard containment ' , which means identify, isolate , treat and keep mortality low. This, our government isn't yet ready for. The success of hard containment lies in our hands as masses so we don't overwhelm the existing inadequate health facilities and poor system. We must brace up,build trust and compliance in this extreme situation where chips are down. Together we are strong!!! MSHELBARA PAUL
