Politics › Re: A Liter Of Petrol Is N1600 In Ghana , Small Increase And Nigerians Are Wailing by StaffofOrayan(m): 9:19pm On Jul 18, 2023
When you complain about killings, they tell you about other countries that record more killings than Nigeria,

A person working in Ghana will typically earn around 60,340 GHS per year, and this can range from the lowest average salary of about 17,260 GHS to the highest average salary of 272,800 GHS. These are average salaries for a person in Ghana and include benefits such as housing and transport.
https://worldsalaries.com › average-...
Average Salary in Ghana for 2023

17,260 Ghanaian Cedi equals
1,189,899.69 Nigerian Naira

A Nigerian earning over 1,000,000 per year would NOT be considered a low earner

Why do you do these wicked things??

You probably work for the government, that is the only reasonable conclusion!

You're not a realist otherwise all your utterances would not be dark, pessimistic and cynical. Realists can be progressive, optimistic and hopeful.
Ask the older people around you where their hope has led Nigeria,
Its like hoping Air Nigeria isn't a scam,
even though reality shows from the beginning it is an unintelligent scam

Sorry but you are the one who lacks the ability to think critically. The focus on petrol is banal and myopic. We have many sectors we must focus on investing in optimally , like transport and power supply, to lessen our dependency on PMS consumption so it can become a valuable export and economic asset for Nigeria for the first time in ages .

Progressive Countries are today talking about aggressively meeting energy transition plan, essentially a move away from reliance on fossil fuel nearing depletion.

Yet you, mocking others for lacking the ability to think critically, talk ignorantly about rehabilitating refineries, a thoroughly discredited consideration in the annals of Nigeria's political and administrative leadership, and you think you are intelligent or up to speed with critical considerations?

Smart Nigerians, able to think critically, will appreciate that we want corrupt government hands, except in a regulatory capacity, off our downstream sector totally.

The aim, for Nigeria, should be to gain a very efficient downstream oil and gas sector, via full deregulation, in the short to medium term. I.e 4 to 12 year period.

We then move aggressively towards developing several sectors of socio-economic activities that will see majority of our locally refined PMS for exported sale to gain Nigeria valuable forex, a greater manufacturing sector, considerable employment for many etc.

Think how much less PMS we would need if we even get a rail travel system as efficient as that of South Africa talk less of those in developed European nations.

The private sector, driven by the need to gain profit and ROI, is the only assurance we can gain a modern, efficient and productive oil and gas sector onwards to releasing the full economic and financial potentials of our crude endowment.

Anyone, like you, focusing on PMS as pivotally important to Nigeria's long term economic outlook is simply illiterate per where we need to go socio-economically. It is doubtful most western nations of the world, the biggest consumers of PMS, would not have met their energy transition plan at least 60-70% in the next 40 years.

We must plan for that. The effort should be to see us join them as modern and energy-efficient nation , rather than view ourselves simplistically as their crude or PMS supplier. That effort must begin now so we do not fall further behind than we undesirable are today.

As a parting thought, if you have ever experienced even moderately developed African nations first hand do you see their citizens carrying kegs up and down to buy petrol?

Rise above tribalism, bias and a parochial outlook to educate yourself better so you can make fitting and progressive demands of Government instead of speaking in support of Nigeria remaining literally 100 years behind others in our own unique dark ages
The damnn economy practically runs on petrol, especially in the absence of adequate electricity,
Most of you don't understand how close you are to being unemployed!
Subsidy is and has always been a scam, you just parrot what the scammers say, but non can tell what the landing cost of petrol is nor the terms of transfer of crude oil to petrol,

Due process has to be followed if we wanna arrive at a reasonable conclusion and tackle this menace once and for all,

Think about this,. What if a Muslim from katsina goes to kano to commit murder then drop a Catholic rosary in the crime scene then leaves, would you say a christian had commit murder without investigation?
Nigerians love stereotype, lazy in deep thinking,
I believe you are educated, please dont conclude on issues as the lame men do, or follow bandwagon,
Sometimes criminals do think ahead and do things that will stall investigation.
Ps, i am not exonerating the fulanis .but all i want is proper investigation to unravel the main culprits.
And of course there are stories of survivors, there are local and international documentaries on the killings,
You seem to be the only one waiting for an investigation, which points to one thing......
