Oshigun: This is why these small Political Parties never do well. They are full of losers without the political vision, sagacity and outlook to suceed in Nigerian politics.
What visibility or politically positive image does Malami have that will make APC take a gamble on him?
So APC should risk losing a Presidential election, all for the sake of maintaining Buhari's man in Aso Rock, by going with Malami when far more electable, popular, well-liked, well-supported and visible candidates like Zulum and even El rufai are available?
Barrister Bamgbose, abeg talk better. I think you are the one without eyes! If you think after all the fulani have done they won't put one of their own in the corridors of power then you are the one without a brain! You really think these people care about your dumb APC/PDP nonsense? |

Monogamy: Ortom should tell us what he knew about Gana's death.
The chance of Gana being intercepted by security officers after ready for amnesty program offer to him by Ortom is so slim. Gana could have been killed after offering his intention to shed his swords then use interception as cover up
And also, If Ortom is the chief security officer of Benue state, what's stopping him from taking the bold step of banning open grazing? If there are no herdsmen/farmers confrontations, all this madness of killing in the state would have stopped long time It's now Ortoms fault that your brothers are on a rampage? |

Beancounter94: And the Chinese on top of that still collect taxes.
I don't dispute the productivity solution, but to allow that to run well you need taxes for the anemites and you also need to let the power and water companies charge at a profit so that they can pay for optimal water and power supply.
You don't do that, you would be begging imf for loans. Nobody is against taxes, My point is that you can't tax a poor people into prosperity! It's an economic fallacy The country is been run to the ground you are talking about taxes when 30% of oil revenue that should be used to build industries is being sunk into the desert in the name of looking for oil,(that is not the indication of a poor nation, that is a clear case of intentional creation of poverty) You are one of those Nigerians living in denial |

Beancounter94: So where is your new country going to find money if not taxes? Or you want to be like Nigeria and take loans after loans? Or you want to fight with Biafra for control of oil? Taxes, taxes, taxes. I know people are poor. But I also know that selling cocoa whose price is controlled in London and Paris and New York won't provide sufficient amount of money. The same way China did it! Start producing things! Stop going abroad for headaches like the useless presido Create tax credit for small and new ventures not chase the old ones away in the name of begging for tax!

Beancounter94: Even if they spilt Nigeria, each and every new country's citizens would have to pay an adequate tax to gdp ratio to adequately fund their new country's police instead of relying on selling stuff whose prices they do not control Tax from where exactly? Stop deceiving yourself! The elites are partying and merrying while the citizens are under the clutches of death, If you like raise $10B they would only increase their own security, The issue here is you think these animals that can't fix electricity for 65 years give a damn about you! The first step to addressing a problem is to admit there is a problem, and the government of the day insists people seeking self determination is the only problem Beancounter94: Our government is useless....because they cannot raise enough money to fund our police adequately.
Yes, to be honest, Nigerian police gets 1 billion dollars to police 200 million people. NYPD gets 10 billion to police 25 million people.
Also, your average state gets 2 billion to fund its activites for the year...rural development inclusive. That's not a lot of money, and then a large chunk of it disappears into corruption and more of it goes to salaries.
Nigerians don't pay enough in taxes as a whole...no I am not talking about those who do pay taxes...but you guys make up 30% of the taxable population. Our tax to gdp ratio as a nation is 6%, on a state by state basis most states don't reach 3%
Our economy is based on oil, and on selling our exports, and sharing the money. Our main business, North or South, is selling imported stuff to ourselves. We also spend billion subsidizing fuel and power, and due to rising costs of production we cannot sustain that. In short, as we are earning forex, we are losing it in a value larger than what we earn
And at the end of the day, whoever we vote, APC or PDP, won't do anything to change that. Let the APC and PDP try to charge more taxes on cattle rearers, farmers, even hawkers...and you will see Miyetti Allah, IPOB and Afenifere, and Ohaneze out on the streets together...protesting
All we have said here, was said ten, twenty and thirty years ago. We have a security issue, we complain. Actual solutions, you won't discuss....because we are too poor to pay Nigeria a living wage. We don't want to invest in domestic industrial development. We want everything for free...without paying the appropriate taxes, and we live under the flawed impression that oil money can sustain us.
So, as we vote in 2023, and get rid of this useless APC government...yes, Buhari has done nothing much to change things...and has made things worse...the fact is, we are going to vote another government like Buhari into power...and once again, the people will be split into two camps....prasiesingers and cursers. And neither of them won't face the fact...that Nigeria does not have enough money, and we have to realistically solve that problem first...before we can see improvements.
Nigeria must get off oil dependency. |

Eastlink: You are talking about my state here and stop listening to CNN propaganda of those who had scores to settle with Abacha. Abacha might be a dictator with how he went about assassinating NADECO activist. But in the case of Saro-Wiwa, dude removed sentiment and acted just. You cannot used Ogoni clean up to murder men who had family just like you. He pronounced them guilty and called on boys to kill the vultures. These men were not even in the military, neither did they have political appointment. If he had an issue with Shell, he should fight Shell and not divert his anger on his political opponent.
What MOSOP headed by Saro-Wiwa was in the early 1990’s is what Nnamdi Kanu is doing with IPOB. If Nnamdi Kanu calls that Igbo leaders be killed for their alleged involvement in operation python dance, and boys finally do it. Kanu will take the fall for it and be hanged had it happened. Unfortunately, Ken Saro Wiwa was fighting against a military without conscience, a multi billion dollar oil corporation and greedy and blind locals, Have you ever wondered why companies like shell only get away with oil spill in majorly black nations? If you still have a brain you will understand why, You are most likely a Northerner if you can call the corrupt and brutal Abacha the victim, a man whose children and lackeys are still enjoying his loot while the SS are still grappling with 3% |

Kobani and the rest were politically irrelevant by the time Shell took hold of Ogoni land. Infact Saro-Wiwa gave Shell the hand in Ogoniland only to fell out of favour to become environment right activist. It took white people to make you agree shell destroyed the region you claim you are from? Saro-Wiwa gave shell the land in a military regime? You are obviously not OK! |

Ogoni became a mess in the first place all thanks to Ken’s greed with Shell and when he fell out of favour, he used the cry for Ogoni oil spill to become relevant. WHITE PEOPLE OF ANOTHER RACE AGREED SHELL DESTROYED THE REGION! SHELL HAS ACCEPTED THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND HAS DECIDED TO PAY ALBEIT A TOKEN, SHELL HAS HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR CASES WORLDWIDE!!! He brainwashed the youths to vent their anger on his political rivals in Ogoniland. That incident significantly dragged Ogoni behind and they've never found their voice politically in Rivers state since then. You are mostly not normal in Nigeria, Even white people(people of another race) agreed to compensate Ogoni people for the trauma the exploration of oil has put them through, same thing Ken was agitating for, I am not surprised it's black people that are ALWAYS the ones behind their own problems! |

Each time I see what our girls do in the name of civilization, I can't help but thank goodness for Islam.
Morality is no longer preached even in the church, only giving, giving and giving.

I believe women should be educated but anything to clip their wings is welcomed.
Nonsense
