U start with d amount of money u av, amount of fish u know u can train well. Just book 300 naira for each fish. U can use imported feed for d first 2 months, den u switch to local feed. After d first 2 to 3 months, u can b giving dem imported nd local feed together.

Hello guys, those going to Niger can send me a message on watsapp in other to b added to d group. 08132866905

My fish Is about 2months old with 90 in each tank. I feed them 3times daily yet they keep eating each other everyday. Please any suggestions on what I can do as I the number of the fish is reducing daily. Thanks

Ur fish are eating each other because u stocked d tank more dan u should. No enough space for d fishes. And, try to sort ur fish too, dat will reduce d mortality.

Using BATCHB2016 as a reference, Stream 1 started camp on November 24, 2016 while that of stream 2 was January 23, 2017. That's about 2months interval.

But, since both d streams finished same time, did d batch b also collected their allawee for 12 months?

Hello guys, pls after d stream 1 camp, how long b4 stream 2 start their camp?

Is this business still profitable. Cos I tried with a thousand fish and still got loss of 1k with wasted time and energy for 5 months.

Please prove me wrong with the followings..

Got seeds from a fish farm I visited myself to see how they grow and affirm it genuineness..

40 naira per fingerlings weight average weight of 10g each..

3 bags of 2mm coppens feeds for 17k each

60 bags of 3mm and 4mm vital feeds for 7500 each

For 5 months water changing .. 50k
Drugs.. 10k
Labour of boy for 5 months at 8k every month..

From the above

40 x 1000 pieces that is 40k

3 x 17000 that is 51k

60 x 7500 that is 450k

50k water

10k drugs

40k labour

All together

641k expenses..

Average kg after harvest is 800kg multiplied by 800 rate

640k

Diffrence is 1k loss

All I gained is experience... And willing to learn more..

Please House.
Educate us more we the newbees on this trend base on Mr above experience how to make gain and experciate better how I could have reduce cost..

Oga, first of all, fingerlings is usually 10 or 15 naira, it is juvenile dat can b around 30 to 40 naira. D water issue, why couldn't u just get a borehole, or create a well dat can give u constant water. Den, why couldn't u maintain ur farm urself, instead of paying 10k monthly. Well, all in all, I tink u r d cause of ur loss.
Were some of ur fish hitting 1kg?

Hello guys, av done my registration since yesterday afternoon, but am still unable yto pay d 3k. Pls, does d payment stop me from going with stream 1?

Thanks bro, please one last question.
How do you improve the oxygen content of the pond.
I don't know where to buy an aerator in Nigeria and what type.

Don't kip ur water for too long b4 changing it, or if u av d means, constant flow tru is very ok. Borehole water is much more ok, but, make sure d borehole water is kept in d tank for a little while b4 pumping it into d pond. Dats d little I know. As for d aerator, I don't know much about it. Call on d Gurus in d house to help u with dat.

ubreeze:
Hello guys, i just joined this thread yesterday and trying to read everything is going to take a while before i get answers.
I am a newbie in fish farming. I stocked my ponds with 1500 fingerlings and i have been feeding them with Coppens (N12,800 per bag over here).
The fishes are 1 month and 3 weeks in the pond and feeding them is getting really expensive. I swapped to SARB feed (N10,000) and I feed them 3 times daily.
They are eating 1 bag in 3 days right now, it is still expensive. I am feeding them 3mm, about to move to 4mm.
Please house, kindly assist with the following concerns:
1. I want to swap to Nigerian feed and I have been hearing a lot about Vital feed in this forum but its not readily available here. Is Topfeed a good or better option?
2. I want to start feeding them twice a day, is this okay? If it is okay, what times shd the feeding be done.
3. I heard someone talking about weighing the quantity of feed before giving to the feed, pls what is ur advice on this?
4. Currently my workers use their hands while sorting the fish, is this a good practice or there is a better way.
I am in Uyo/Eket in Akwa Ibom state, is there anyone in this forum who has a farm around me? I would love to learn from that person practically.
I will very much appreciate any advice or contribution.

Top feed is good. I tink u can sort d fishes with ur hands. Feeding them 2 times daily is good, but, if d fishes r still about 1 month nd below, den 3 times daily is better. U don't weigh d quantity of the feed, u just feed dem till dey r satiated, dats is u feed dem till dey stop eating. But u ll av to b observant not to over feed dem, so dat d water won't get polluted.

Gentlelord:
He ought to still be in charge. I just pray they mobilize Majorly engineering boys because I was no 2162 at students affairs. Abeg you fit still help intercede for me o I need follow stream 1

Hello, pls, d list we wrote our names on at student affairs, is it 2 batches? My reason for asking is cos, d week I wrote my name, my number was around 2000 plus, but my friend dat wrote his name about 2 weeks later, his name was around 1000 plus.

Hello house, Pls, whoever is in charge of d watsapp group should add me 08132866905
