Do not loose hope. I believe approved cases are not affected.

Sadly any case with an interview date beyond 21st February 2020 is affected except the applicant is for the National Interest waiver (NIW) class or qualifies for a general waiver. Candidates are automatically enrolled for the general waiver and if they do not meet the waiver conditions, their Visa are denied. The NIW is a different application route and not family based.

Are you sure we are not misinterpreting the meaning of a green card? If his dad traveled to the USA with an immigrant Visa then he had a green card at the time of his entry to the USA. The Visa you are issued in Nigeria is activated as a temporary I551(green card) for 1year as soon as it is endorsed at the port of entry by an immigration officer. His father can file a petition with that temporary green card. However, he needs to prove he hasn't abandoned his resident status after 1year for the application to be maintain its validity.

You can't file for someone if you are not legal. You need to be a citizen to file for your child or sibling. Are you sure you are not getting things mixed up? Anyway, you better get busy with other stuff cos you have a long way to go.

You don't need to be a citizen to file for a relative; the requirement is permanent residence.

I came across this thread last week and I sent in my proposal. I came through, Yes I am one of the beneficiaries of this thread. I know I didn’t have the best business idea but I was able to sell myself, I was able sell my idea...that is the key thing about starting a business. You can have the worst business but one thing that brings the goal is if you are able to sell this idea and you are committed to it.
To all other participants, please do not feel you can’t achieve it and your idea is not good enough. We will all get there. Three things are very important in starting a business and even when you are in business: FAITH, PRAYER AND HARD-WORK.

I want to appreciate everyone who took this thread seriously and responded with such amazing enthusiasm. When I opened this thread, I had two targets. The first one was to seek out one person with a small scale business idea that demonstrates an understanding of his /her immediate environment and their needs. This person must prove that he/she is in need of funds for this purpose. Because I expected this category to include very small or even micro scale start up, my donation to it is entirely charitable and no refund is expected.
The second target is someone who has already started a business that needs to be scaled up. The business must have a good track record and with clear signs that further injection of funds would take it to the next level. In this category, I was hoping to strike a partnership deal.
I must confess that I was impressed with the numerous ideas that came forth. Unfortunately I had to make only one choice for each category.
I have selected an idea for the first category and had made the fund available to the person earlier this week.
I have spoken with about 3 persons for the second category and have one more person to speak with today. At this point, I would say that I am no more open to further proposals.
I will now concentrate on providing support to these two persons, hoping that the set goals are achieved.
In the nearest future, I hope to re-open the call for more proposals as soon as this phase is successfully executed.

I want to appreciate everyone who has taken time to respond on this forum. I have received several emails. I have responded to a few and still have many more to review. Would you like to invest in a real Estate business that will have an office that will accommodate other side businesses like viewing centre, video gaming and an exquisite barbing saloon?

I am into Real Estate agency for about two years now. I work from home though but wants to set up an office in a fast developing area of my town (Lokoja) which will be good for business especially for sales of landed properties.

I currently have a fairly good number clients i service in terms of rentage, so opening an office and combining the Real Estate with other side businesses will actually bring in good profits in the long run.

In all, i need roughly 900k to set-up but i can still startup something with half of that amount.

I have paid a one year(starting this october) ground rent of 40k for an open spot to put the office already. I will have to erect the viewing centre on one half of the plot while the other half would occupy the structure for my office, gaming lounge and barbing saloon.

I have also paid part payment of 70k for two fairly used 42 inch TVs to my supplier and will balance him 40k when the TVs arrive next week.

Actually in my estimate, i require 4 TVs. Two 42 inches for viewing centre and two 32 inches for gaming.

The two TVs and the ground rent are my investments so far, as i only do one thing at a time due to availability of funds.

Getting funding from you will help me set up faster which is what i desire.

I am open to loan agreement with a certain repayment plan from you or a partnership option. Either ways, i am available.

Records of my Real Estate Lettings and my share of agency fees received for the past two years are well documented and available for your perusal.

Fashion industry is growing and alsmost all the designers focused majorly on adult and I just thought of my brand to be focused on children clothing(formal or native wise). Okrika wears are affordable and students like cheap things .And since they are cheap it creates more market and more profit for the seller.
You can't make a loss in this business except you bought inferior grade wears or you did not put in your best to market or sell them. No i'm not into it yet but i patronize them often and they gave me the in and out of the business

CCD stands for consular consolidated database. It is an indication that your Visa is digitized. U may or may not get a hard copy version however immigration officers have access to it at the POE. You should be fine.

I don't think you hv anything to be bothered about. Those are internal workflow adjustments.

You do not need the W2. Just get photocopies of the IRS tax return form of your petitioner and any other person providing you an affidavit of support (you may not be asked to show this anyway). U don't need to go to the embassy with an affidavit of support form; those are sent directly by the petitioner and further copies are not needed. Verify from your petitioner that this is not pending (if u already hv an appointment then it's likely this is not pending).

If you opted for a social security card while filling the Visa form in Nigeria and you don't get it after 10days of arrival, visit the social security office. If you applied at the office here in Seattle and don't receive it after two weeks, give them a call. The wait on phone is usually long but not unbearable.
You can also visit the SS office to have it sorted out. Normally it should come within two weeks.

Anyone who has gone for their interview and not heard anything yet just relax. Pretty sure the government shutdown is affecting all the agencies, home and abroad. Make we just pray for them to agree on time and reopen, cos its slowing down a lot. All will be well.

If your sister intends to stay beyond 180days, then she should apply for a re-entry permit while in the US. If she is staying less than 180days outside the USA, then she should be fine.

Like Koolkesh mentioned, the US govt shutdown will affect the consulates. You are still well within the time frame for administrative processes so just relax. They will get back to you.
