Amberon:
Not true. Reno, you are not the standard for the 7billion people in the world. That it happened to you doesn't mean its always the case. Love is always and forever, never confuse it with lust or infatuation.

Since 2012 when I met my first love I haven't been the same. He didn't give me the world. Though he broke my heart and though we don't talk anymore he is still the one I Iove.

My friend's mother also haven't gotten over her husband though their marriage crashed about 22 years ago. She refused to remarry to this day cuz she still loves the man.

So speak for yourself Reno. To people like me, no amount of money and material things can buy my love.
I wish the guy is here to know he's lost a rare Angel. #Sigh

The same question I've been asking myself: "Can this be love?" I've known Mr Dele since my days as an undergraduate, at AAUA. Every meeting with him left me with unanswered questions, one of them being "who'll marry him?"

One question has been answered, and I can boldly say God is a Chief architect of wonders.

I wish the couple well, and I pray they have a lovable and lasting married life.

PoliticsChicken Republic: A Story Of Some Sort by stancko(op): 5:26pm On Apr 22, 2017
CHICKEN REPUBLIC
BY: ABIMBOLA OMOPO

The massacre of the chickens was soon to start again. It was April, when the March showers ushered in the May flowers. It was Easter, too, for the chickens were worried, for soon enough, their population would once again be decimated by the humans. They had better find a solution to this recurring disadvantage, lest their species get endangered. They thus decided to call a meeting. Yeah, a meeting, where they could put heads together to save themselves from the looming danger.

How the humans were cruel to them! They murdered them young and old for Easter and Christmas! Their eggs weren't allowed to develop into maturity, for humans needed them for their daily nutrition. How saddening!

The meeting started, and ended no sooner than it started, for they were quick to make their decisions: They were to start a revolution. Yes, a Revolution! Their terms for revolting was outlined quickly:

1. They were slaughtered too many, and their rights to life was to be upheld.
2. By revolting, they would be able to save their eggs from untimely death, and by so doing, lead them on to maturity and to old age.
3. By calling for a recognition of their rights, they wanted also, compensation for families of chickens who have died by the hands of humans.

All things said and agreed upon, the chickens were ready. The next day was chosen to be showdown day. March! March!! March!!! they went, with their commander-in-chief, General Cockerel, calling out to them in his croaked voice, to fight the injustice once and for all.

No sooner had the chickens walked a Mile, than the humans heard of the chickens' rampage. The Major General of the 8th division was hollered upon to clamp down on the invaders. However, he was a wise man, skilled in the art of war. He knew that, if the chickens were allowed to die by the bullets, a major source of protein was destined for the drains.

He instructed planes to be loaded with chicken feed, and had them scattered at the scene of the revolt. A great number of chickens scampered to get their share of the seeds, forgetting their cause - to fight for their lives. The commander rounded up the weak remnants of the invading chickens, and offered a truce: They were to surrender, or risk being killed. What were they to do? At least, they were well fed by the humans; they were treated well, though they ended up in soups and chicken pies! "Isn’t that a better death, than by bullets?" The chickens thought. They all surrendered, forgetting their chosen cause. So sad.

Now, are we Nigerians any different from the chickens? When we cry out against injustice to our persons, to other citizens, how often we chicken out by the force of those greater than we are; how often are our shouts for justice drowned into grumbles!

It is funny enough that, before elections, we rave and rant silly that we weren't going to elect the 'Ajelus', but when cash exchange hands, and cups of rice shared amongst the hungry populace, the cry for change gets drowned by folks fighting to get their share of the cups of Rice. Let's not get carried away, Nigerians, though the change we seek seems to be here, let's fight on till it manifests!

CareerRe: I Don't Like To Work With Any Of My Colleagues by stancko(m): 8:42am On Apr 07, 2017
gustalnov:
I know the problem might be with me. And I also know it could be because they are intimidated by someone younger, cos they are all older than I am. But I work with a set of colleagues at any one time, and I absolutely don't like to work with any of them. I see the way they want some young people to behave towards them: supplicant and cowed. I'm not like that, and I think it gives room for them to consider me proud.

It could also be because they are all Nigerians and they gossip so damn much. I'm Nigerian myself. However, I've not been raised that way. The gossip is one thing I don't understand though. Long hours of gossip.

Is there a better way I can work with them?

Damn, I really hate working with all of them. And if I can hate working with all 8 persons, shouldn't the problem be with me?
Baba, I'm a Nigerian too, and I wasn't raised that way. I need a job, and I don't mind working in your company. We won't be gossiping.

It'll do her Loudmouth some good to know that freedom of speech in a country like Nigeria doesn't guarantee your freedom when jailed.

we live in a country where the rule of law is a scarce privilege.

What's this gibberish?
BornStunner1:
i knw say na yoruba dey post rubbish for dis thread pass wit una lie lie say oduduwa na sky diver wen use chain take cum dwn from sky
abeg una nor forget say oba benin is the number one in nigeria and most feared nd respected unlike una last ooni wen go baff for river to cumot he sickness so he fit go he pinkin marriage still he still die for there wat a pity una nor suppose to dey compare una self wit benin at all bcus imagine a people group of pple dat is just one state is highly recongnised in d world if u doubt me if u have a dictionary type edo and or benin u will see d result apart from Edo, hausa ,yoruba u wont see any other state there.. But nigeria only recongnise wazobia bcus dey are much and i wonder the edos are not much in population but yet d world knows about the kingom i bet u if not for nigeria wit der corruption Edo culture and art would have been thought in schools in nigeria and improve on and if Edo was to be an independent country on his own it would be second kingdom in Africa to b recongnised after that of Egypt so pls my yoruba country pple u shld b ashamed dat in your history what we saw is migration which resulted from slave trade selling ur own pple to different part of the world and juju abeg make una dey shame for una lie say edo cum from una and yet u pple were not recongnise as a kingom in nigeria
its nigeria dat helped made u spread your culture of lies my country ppple i luv to break it to u there was noting like oyo empire it was just formed up if you doubt read about the kiriji war of the yorubas
And the Benin story of oduduwa was d truth i dnt belive on stories of creation cus all the stories are myth if u hear from all these stories of creation u will see dey are subjecting to one thing dat is king from skies but i belive der was a creator of all these and i also believed dat d world migrated from each other dat made d twist of d original storey of creation. what i gat to understand through learning was that everybdy has der own version of it around d world except dey wan tell me say everybody in d world today will b judge by der own creator whom came from sky so dat means if u were to b worshipping oduduwa and u go dey worship god from Christianity den u don sin to ur god
And its also Fact dat the word oba came from Edo cus der was no trace dat Yoruba ever use oba in der history and i wonder
it was na later been used as king after dey saw dat the world oba prospered in benin so dey later adopted it for themself also and use it to adress royalty am not trying to biased but say d truth

I think the person in question should go on with life, as fate has shown him. The certainty of his coming out with a 2.1 is vv slim. Though, most PG courses wouldn't reckon much with a 2.2, if the dude still got his dreams on track, and wanna come out strong, he could offer a PGD course of one yr to be eligible for the MA/Msc course. #GodBless
