I don’t really understand some schools this days. My baby girl cleared all her subjects with distinction, all As and she was given 3rd position. She has been sobbing uncontrollably since yesterday. Yes, she was promised Christmas gifts and present if she takes first position in class this term.
I think she deserves the 1st position. I want to go to the school on Monday and appeal for result recheck. It can’t be!
I am not taking this o! My baby deserves 1st position with this result.

Back then in my year one, I was told it's not possible to finish with First Class honours in the department of Mechanical engineering as it had only happened twice since 1980.
Especially as I decided not to compromise by giving any lecturer money or being involved in malpractice. My year one and year two didn't get up to 4.5cgpa. However in my year 3 I stepped up to studying 8-12hrs daily and had 5.00GPA in both semesters.

I have read so many stories of those who graduated with First Class even here on nairaland and was determined that my story will be here someday. I give glory to God who made this possible.


A lot happened, I lost my Dad during my final year first semester exams while studying at night in preparation for the next day, I was emotionally down with tears soaking my exam booklet even as I wrote. God remained faithful as I had another 5.00gpa that semester.

Finally graduated with a cgpa of 4.70/5.00, while my close friend finished as the best with a cgpa of 4.94/5.00. To all those still studying, anything is possible once we set our hearts to it and decide not to give up. I know my dad will be proud wherever he is. I give glory to God.
