Family / Re: Benue Woman Marries Pregnant Lady To Bear Children For Late Son by Stanley4E(m): 12:00pm On Oct 07, 2017 |
This act is a very common tradition even in Igbo communities.......and the idea behind it is quite reasonable especially when you read her reasons. The young lady can also bear more children for the elderly lady without the world getting to know who the biological father is. For every child she bears is for the elderly lady and tradition accepts that child as an heir to the family lineage. African traditions can be very interesting 1 Like |
Health / What If Oxygen Is Poisonous, And Takes Just 75-100 Years To Kill Us? by Stanley4E(m): 1:48pm On Apr 21, 2017 |
Just a hypothesis I stumbled on, and decide to share. This seems to make sense but my question is "what could possibly be an alternative to oxygen?" With the rise in the level of research on the Theory of Aging Recently some millionaires including elderly and terminally ill fellows have offered the chance to freeze their body in the hopes of coming back to life in the future. Well this is a different topic entirely. Now let's look at how Oxygen can be poisnous and how it possibily limits our life expectancy Read below According to Joel Clark who agrees with the hypothesis, this happens to be his analogy Your hypothesis is 100% correct. Let me state that again Your hypothesis is 100% correct. Let’s start with a little background. You should immediately recognize what the picture below is Rust/Corrosion. Or less commonly known as oxidation (or the effect thereof). Now this also occurs inside your mitochondria when it turns glucose into ATP. There are also many other biological processes that require oxidization as a catalyst for the reaction, hence your bodies requirement for oxygen to survive. Can you survive without oxygen? Nope. When this occurs, the reaction results in a left over electron, or many left over electrons, which are referred to as Free Radicals. These little buggers cause cell damage and a variety of other not-conducive-to-life processes. While it remains true that oxygen is a basic requirement for “most” life on planet earth, the chemical reactions that occur generally have bad side effects. Your body naturally produces antioxidants to try and limit the damage caused by these little buggers - but eventually the damage aggregates into a final transition… death by old age (If you believe the Free Radical Theory of Aging). Now let’s go back to the question… what constitutes a poison? In biology, poisons are substances that cause disturbances in organisms, usually by chemical reaction or other activity on the molecular scale, when an organism absorbs a sufficient quantity. [b]Does oxygen cause a disturbance in organisms, by chemical reaction or some other activity on the molecular scale, when an organism absorbs a sufficient quantity? It sure does! Now isn’t that bitter sweet irony. https://www.quora.com/What-if-oxygen-is-actually-poisonous-and-it-just-takes-75–100-years-to-kill-us/answer/Joel-Clark-14

We can't continue to watch the old brigades reap us of(youth) our glorious future and that of our next generation. So far Nigeria has no road map of where they are heading to. haven gone through this new party's manifesto and joined their WhatsApp conversation my hope is been restored that a better and abundant Nigeria is no rocket science and 100℅ achievable. The young personalities of technocrats and individuals with positive mental attitude that makes up this party is the way forward. I encourage you guys to be part of this movement that will shape the destiny of this great nation into eternal Prosperity and an envy to the rest of the world. Shalom! 1 Like |
