Stick to what it accepts na. Most new pumps sold cheaply are knock offs aka poor quality aftermarket parts.
Also, pumps shouldn’t be failing frequently except your vehicle Electrical or engine is having some underlying problems stressing these pumps or you run your car till the tank empties.

Pls help me resolve this: My 1999 Camry 2.2 selects fuel pump. It doesn't use new fuel pump. It only uses Belgium fuel pump. That's the only pump that makes the engine to run smoothly. But have seen other Camry of same model use new fuel pump. What could be the cause?
Pls help a brother as the Belgium pump is more expensive besides, it is not readily available as the new pump .

Pls help me resolve this. I don't know what is wrong with my tiny light camry, if it is left idling, it will be like that for a few minutes, then it goes off. It won't restart immediately until you give it a minute or so. Don't know what is really wrong. Pls help.

I bought a new gearbox for my Camry 2.2 . The mechanic bought a WS toyota automatic fluid and put it into the new gear, Is this oil ok for gear?

Pls help me out. I have a tiny light Toyota Camry. The problem is that it doesn't rev up to about 4000rpm without making some cranky sounds and it affects it's acceleration. What could be the cause? Am tired of mechanics.

Finally changed the instrument cluster. Its been so far so good. Thanks to u all. What could I have done without u guys. Merry Xmas.

Pls fellow Nairalanders, I just observe that my Camry 99 gear sometimes don't respond while in motion. It happens once in a while. Once it happens, the speedometer reading on the dashboard will also go off. I will have to park by the way side and switch of the engine and probably wait for sometime before it picks. At time when I touch the fuse and relay on the bunnet and start the engine, it will pick too. Am really confused. What could be the cause?

I use a 1999 Camry. Noticed recently that my throttle pedal sometimes hangs after a stop and I want to zoom off again. It will hang for some seconds before responding. Took it to the mechanic who oiled the cables and it stopped for a few days. Now it is back again. Pls what could be the cause and the possible solution to this. All the gurus in the house, pls help.

If the bolded is correct, you got a defective, or not properly refurbished compressor. It happens a lot. Supplier of part caused this issue.

Where can one get a good compressor and for how much?

Pls oga Mobus , I have a 1999 Camry, I just changed my compressor last week and during the installation, the previous one was frozen stiff, the technician had to vaccum the system to clear the line. I just observed today that the compressor has failed again. Now why is my Ac compressor always failing Technician said dirt is still in the system. Meanwhile he changed the compressor, condenser and drier at the same time. Am really in a fix on what to do. He is advicing that I buy a new compressor and condenser and that he will have to flush the system again. Am confused.

Checked the ATF, it was really short. Toped up and car is running smoothly now. Thanks everyone

I drive a camry 1999 model. I noticed that the like on the dashboard indicating the drive mode is illuminating the drive and the neutral at the same time when the gear is engaged. Yesterday, I was driving the car under a heavy downpour and at a point, the car stopped responding while the gear was still engaged. It like as if it just went into neutral on its own. It however picked after a few seconds.
Pls house, what could be the cause I bought the car like that.

Blinking is an error code thrown by the system, it could indicates a fault. I can only throw random possible faults at you. But first check if you have the right quantity of refrigerant (gas) installed.

Just back from the workshop. Plug wires were changed to a new one. Plugs were changed also. Engine is running smoothly again even with the Ac. Thanks for your contributions.

When you say some time, how long? Also, is the check engine light on? For issues like yours - or anyone for that matter, you want to start with the basics.

Check engine light is on. Been told to change the plug wires

It gets worse when the AC is on because there is more "stress" on the engine/system. Some questions:

1. When was the last time you did regular maintenance i.e. change spark plugs, change wire etc on the vehicle?
2. Any check engine light on?
3. 4 or 6 cylinder and with how many miles?

It is a 4 cylinder and it has 196,000 miles to its credit. Have not changed plug and wires for some time now though I change the oil regularly.

Pls help, I just noticed that my camry 98 Jerks when ever the gear is engaged. Sometimes I became scared whenever I am on a hold up cos it be behaving like the engine is going to stall. It gets worse when the Ac is on. What could be the problem. Have bought injector treatment to clean the injector but problem persists. Please help.
