Jokes Etc › The Turtle And The Rabbit by stanprexy(op): 6:44am On Oct 23, 2015 |
This may seem very long but it's really Important. ONCE UPON A TIME!!! A turtle and a rabbit had an argument about who was faster. They decided to settle the argument with a race. The turtle and the rabbit both agreed on a route and started off the race. The rabbit shot ahead and ran briskly for some time Then seeing he was far ahead of the turtle. He thought he'd sit under a tree for some time and relax before continuing the race. He sat under the tree and soon fell asleep. The turtle plodding on overtook him and soon finished the race. Emerging as the undisputed champ. The rabbit woke up and realised that he has lost the race. MORAL: THE SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE. This is the version of the story we've all grown up with, BUT my version of the story still continues. The rabbit was disappointed at losing the race and he did some thinking. He realised that he'd lost the race only because he was overconfident, careless and lax. If he had not taken things for granted, there's no way the turtle could have beaten him. So he challenged the turtle to another race and the turtle agreed. This time, the rabbit went all out and ran without stopping from start to finish. He won by several miles. THE MORAL OF THE STORY? THE FAST AND CONSISTENT WILL ALWAYS BEAT THE SLOW AND STEADY. It's good to be slow and steady; but it's better to be fast and reliable. . BUT THE STORY DOESN'T ENDS HERE. The turtle did some thinking and realised that there is no way he can beat the rabbit in a race the way it was currently formatted. He thought for a while, and he challenged the rabbit to another race but on a slightly different route. The rabbit agreed. The turtle and the rabbit started off. In keeping to self-made commitment to be consistently fast, the rabbit took off and ran at top speed. Until he came to a broad river. The finishing line is a couple kilometres on the other side of the river. The rabbit sat down and wondered what to do. In the meantime, the turtle trundled along, got into the river swam, to the opposite back, continue walking and finished the race. MORAL; FIRST DISCOVER YOUR CORE COMPETENCY AND THEN CHANGE THE FIELD TO SUIT YOUR CORE COMPETENCY. THE STORY HAS NOT STILL ENDED. The turtle and the rabbit, by this time, had become pretty good friends and they did some thinking together. Both realised that the last race could have been run much better. So the turtle and the rabbit decided to do the last race again, but this time as a team. They started off, and this time the rabbit carried the turtle to the river bank. There the turtle took over and swam across with the turtle on his back. On the opposite bank, the rabbit again carried the turtle, and they reach the finishing line together. Both the turtle and the rabbit felt a greater sense of satisfaction than they'd felt earlier. MORAL: IT IS GOOD TO BE INDIVIDUALLY BRILLIANT AND TO HAVE STRONG CORE COMPETENCIES, BUT unless you're able to work in a team and harness each other competencies, you'll always perform below par because there will always be a situation at which you'll do poorly and someone else do well. TEAMWORK is mainly about situational leadership, letting the person with relevant core competency for a situation take leadership. AND THAT IS THE ENDS OF THE STORY. |

Flopped in the newcastle game which was very important. He was lost in midfield and too slow for the pace of the game. Snailish. |

ojuetti: Please I need some candid advice on some issues; I am separated with 4 kids from the father of my kids a few years ago. He brought me and my kids from Nigeria to UK but was very useless in terms of taking care of me and my kids, all he did was womanize, drink and stay late at night. I was working part time while he was working full time, but still, he spent his money on women outside. I could not do anything because then, I was not entitled to any benefit, but as soon as I got my papers, I decided to act, I was not ready to take all his rubbish again, so he had no choice than to leave the house for me and my kids. I felt what was the point in having a useless man around me. I am now able to claim all my benefit as a single parent from the government, more so my pastor had told me that he was not my husband that my husband who will love me will come and find me at the right time. Throughout this ordeal, I was seeing a guy who was with me throughout and loved me very much. We promised to be together forever, even though we both have kids. The problem now is that my pastor recently told me that, this is not the man for me, that another man that will take care of me is coming, but I am in love with this man, should I listen to my pastor and let this man go or just ignore this prophecy. This man in his forties just like myself, so we are adults and know what we are doing, but this prophecy is getting me confused. Fake prophet with fake prophecy, supporting you to commit adultery. Better go back to the father of your kids, or else your christianity is vague. Marriage is all about sacrifice, commitment and forgiveness. |

nicechic: Ladies in the house. What will be your reaction if ur fiance' doesn't want you to secure a gov't job when he marries you? Well,he feels he has all it takes to take care of u and d kids, and wit the flimzy excuse that men will be disturbing u at ur place of work. He rather prefers to plant you in a shop or supermarket, after all the stress of studying hard to pass in the university. Thereby rendering ur certificate useless.
Ladies, would you go ahead with the engagement? And guys....what's ur take on it? Basically, it isn't the woman's job to fend for the family. If the husband said he is capable, why not relax and submit to his demands. Or you want to tell me, you are going to marry your certificate. |

iconize: I've got this friend of mine, a self-employed dude that has been married for two years.
His marital ordeal is what some would "wicked romance". In his two years of marriage, he has been the chief cook of the home.
His wife wants him to cook and serve her because she finds it romantic(s). That is why I say, always start what you can finish, although there is still an option to opt out, which might not be friendly to you or the other party involved. |

Well, maybe wifey has smelled a rat somewhere and is simply preparing for the inevitable. Good on her not to want to take in again, knowing her marriage is on shaky grounds! divorce is a no, but are you supporting that deceptive act of hers? I bet she don't love her husband. |
