In 1999 the then President Olusegun Obasanjo sent his list of ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation. Senator Evan(s) Enwerem was Senate President then.The nominee from Abia State was Chief Ojo Maduekwe.The three senators from Abia State then were:

1. Senator Ike NWACHUKWU - Abia North

2. Senator Dr. Bob John NWANNUNU - Abia Central; and

3. Senator Adolphus WABARA - Abia South.

The day Chief Ojo Maduekwe appeared at the Senate for screening, something interesting happened. After his introduction and initial remarks, Senator Ike Nwachukwu spoke in support of his nomination, followed by Senator Adolphus Wabara. Please can we stop this Yoruba and Igbos Attacking each other just because of ordinary VP slot and think forward on how to make Nigeria envy of other African nations. NW, NE and NC always refer to themselves as Northern Nigeria when it comes to politics and they speak with one mind. The funny part of it is not that they speak one language, they have so many tribes there at least I did my one year NYSC in the north and few kilometers to next corpers lodge is another tribe that speak different language but communicate generally with hausa. But down here supremacy will not allow us to reason as one. Imagine two northerners jostling for presidential ticket under two powerful parties and no noise from them but down here VP slot to SE under PDP and another VP slot to SW under APC, we won't here word again shame on you people.

In all of these, the only person I blame is Atiku! How could he have been so daft to have included an igbo on the ticket? This is not the time to bring the igbos to the limelight of Nigerian politcs given the IPOB/Nnamdi Kanu/Biafra fiasco.

In one fell swoop, Atiku alienated the NE/NW/SW and ensured that he won't get any votes from there. This weekend has been one extremely sad one for me because I had a soft spot for Atiku but his decision to put an igbo man on the ticket has made sure that any rational yoruba man will not vote for him.

At this juncture, we can only brace up for the next 4 years under Buhari and pray things go fine for each of us individually and as a Nation.

You see your problem, you only vote base on region and not integrity. So if Atiku decided to pick Yoruba man as running mate you will switch over to vote Atiku. You can't eat your cake and have it, do you think Atiku is foolish to have pick an Igbo man. OK lemme switch the outcome of the event, assuming an Igbo man is Buhari's running mate and another Igbo man is Atiku's running mate how would the Yoruba people feel?
