President Muhammadu Buari has broken his silence on his appointments, which many Nigerians have described as “lopsided”. Buhari in an interview with BBC Hausa on Tuesday said the Constitution allowed him full control over the choice of his closest officials. The president assured that he was not ignoring some section of his society in his appointments, explaining that those he appointed were some of his most trusted associates. Responding to the interviewer’s question on the controversy generated by the appointments, Buhari said “This is the nature of Nigerian politics”. “If they will do justice to me, as an elected Nigerian president, let them look at the Constitution a Nigerian president works with, there are people who will closely work with me that don’t need to be taken to the Senate. “If I select people whom I know quite well in my political party, whom we came all the way right from the APP, CPC and APC, and have remained together in good or bad situation, the people I have confidence in and I can trust them with any post, will that amount to anything wrong? “I have been with them throughout our trying times, what then is the reward of such dedication and suffering? “They did not defect because of positions, they did not involve themselves in the pursuit of personal gains, and they accepted their fate throughout our trying moments. “What is wrong if I make you the secretary (of the federal government) because I have confidence that things will go normal?”https://newsofnigeria.com/why-i-appointed-more-northerners-buhari-finally-opens-up/ |

President Muhammadu Buhari has fired the Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service. He has also approved the sacking of the Chairmen, Secondary Education and Universal Basic Education Boards with immediate effect. This was contained in a letter with reference no. SGF.19/ S.81/T1/97 sent to the FCT Permanent Secretary, John Chukwu, on Wednesday by the Secretary to the Federal Government. A statement by the FCT Deputy Director, Press, Mohammed Sule, on Thursday in Abuja quoted the letter as directing the affected chairmen to comply with the Federal Government directive on the dissolution of the governing boards of parastatals, agencies, institutions and government- owned companies. According to the letter, “The Federal Government’s directive as contained in Circular Ref. No. SGF.19/S.81/ XIX/964 on the dissolution of the Governing Boards of the Federal Government Parastatals, Agencies, Institutions and Government- owned companies remains extant.” It noted that the directive applied to all the boards of the Federal Capital Territory parastatals, agencies, institutions and government- owned companies. “In view of this directive, the FCT Permanent Secretary has directed the former Chairman of the FCT IRS to hand over all duties and responsibilities of his office as well as government belongings in his possession to the Director of Treasury, FCT, while the Chairmen of the Secondary Education Board and Universal Basic Education Board should hand over all duties and responsibilities of their offices as well as government belongings in their possession to the Directors/Secretaries of SEB and UBEB respectively,” the statement said. President Muhammadu Buhari says Boko Haram insurgents have been isolated, saying this is already giving a chance for peace to reign. President Buhari said this was made possible by the concerted efforts of member- states of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin Republic. He spoke at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday at a joint press briefing with the president of Togo, Faure Gnassingbe Eyadema, who visited Nigeria for condolences over terrorist attacks and to formally invite him to a regional summit on maritime security and development holding in November in Togo. "Since the cooperation of the regional countries comprising Cameroun, Chad, Niger and Benin Republic, we have identified our problem and achieved positive results in terms of isolation of Boko Haram and giving a chance to peace," Buhari said. Stressing the need for collaboration among African nations to address their challenges, President Buhari emphasised that without securing the region, there would be no sustainable development. "Bilaterally, we're trying to see how we can come closer together as he (Eyadema) has explained because having being there longer than myself, he's more exposed, both in regional and on African Union level. But first and foremost, we must identify our problem and the first thing is security. We must secure our region, otherwise sustainable development will be impossible. "You've just heard him say how much is lost to piracy and Nigeria cannot afford to lose that. So, there is need for cooperation amongst the African countries. We'll continue to discuss and do our best to resolve regional issues. The most important thing is that we must pay attention to agriculture and manufacturing so that everybody can be employed and then we'll have much less problems", he said. The president noted that it is not easy fighting on so many fronts with the security challenges in the north-east and the south-south, coupled with the challenge providing infrastructure in the country.http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/buhari-boko-haram-now-isolated/110275.html

The actress frowned at the how the Lagos State government and the Federal government have kept silent over the sudden death of a 300 level student of the Accounting department of the Lagos University. Omotola got angry over the matters after about three days gone; the administration was yet to publish a statement on the issue which according to her is a sign of ignorance and lack of respect for humanity. She said: “A Nigerian student is electrocuted and no statement from both state and federal government? Do Nigerian lives matter? How is there ‘change’ when this government can’t show its people they are valued? Who do they work for? Cattles, Aliens? Negligence and lack of respect.”

The popular American Hip Hop singer Chris Brown has said that he is tired of the devil ruining his life. In a recent Instagram post, the award- winning singer blamed the devil for trying to ruin his life. He also talked about thoughts of suicide and claims he’s heard God speak to him for the very first time. Here’s exactly what he wrote: “When u tired of the fucking devil ruining your life and u hear God speak for the first time. No one knows what I deal with on a day to day. The average man wouldn’t hesitate to blow his fucking brains out but that’s the cowards way out… Most won’t understand the genius and beauty in change and learning and the people who have devilish intentions will win in the short term. My soul will always be pure of heart. What’s on the surface always looks like one big party but inside there is a little boy looking for help and guidance. People say “be a man”. Yeah, that’s right but it doesn’t take away any pain you really go through. I just wanna stay out the way and do music. Most importantly and great father. I don’t have any more patience for anything that will cause me to self destruct!!” This guy needs all our prayers and support. He was a young boy when all ‘these’ started and the devil deceived him. Chris, the good news is your soul was already bought by the blood of Christ even before you went into any evil pact. The bible says that “even the lawful captive shall be set free.http://funville.com.ng/2015/09/chris-brown-says-hes-tired-of-worshipping-the-deviland-god-spoke-to-him-watch-interview/
