In what could be described as a Range Rover family, Iroko TV Boss, has purchased a Range Rover Volt Powered Toy for his son Obinna Njoku. It could be recalled that in 2014, Jason Njoku purchased a Range Rover Vogue and Evoque for him and his wife respectively, to celebrate recent successes of his company, The Rover Evoque 12v SUV is every bit as desirable as its adult version. Comes standard with authentic badges, LED lights, MP3 input jack, engines sounds and remote control. Parents can drive the car using the hand held remote or your child can opperate with the foot pedal and steering wheel. http://starttells.com/2016/01/13/jason-njoku-buys-matching-range-rover-for-2-year-old-son-obinna/

Nigeria’s legendary stand-up Comedian Atunyota Alleluya Akporobomerere with the stage name Ali Baba has displayed a picture of him and her daughter, holding a certificate presented to her for coming out best in Mathematics. The 50-year-old proud dad took to Instagram to display the pictures with the caption; VAvavoom comes home with a certificate attesting to the fact that she is the best student in Mathematics. She didn’t get that from me. Must be Mummy Mary again!!! Because, after Arithmetics… I gave up. So she is nearly an all rounder. Certificates in #Writing #poetry #piano#violin #flute #art #science #swimming… By the way, that her smile is not for the certificate ooo… It’s for what the certificate has earned her. She now gets an extra 1 hour of watching #nickledeon#cartoons and her favorite movies… This weekend in view!!!However, after posting the photo, he had to repost it with an entirely different caption, after a particular lady on the thread, warned him against showing of his kids too much, and giving more attention to one of his kids. Here was his reply; I am reposting this picture to open a new page of discussion. Very often, after posting somethings, on Instagram, I read through all comments, listen to criticisms and imbibe the encouragements. Today I got a different kind of critic. A very concerned friend of mine on Instagram after reading my caption and reading the accompanying comments from my friends on Instagram, sent me a direct message. And to be honest, I kind of saw her point. And her point was. I am over exposing my daughter to strangers. Plus I was playing up her academic exploits too much. “As if she is an only child… try and balance your show of affection to all your kids”. Like I said I agreed with her completely. Not until I went through her Instagram handle and saw that she had posted a video of her daughter dancing all the later dance steps at a party. Leading to her daughter winning the best dancer at the birthday party. The event planner, daughter and mum then struck a pose. That got me thinking. Is it that celebrating academic prowess of your child has officially become a taboo and the dancing skills of our children are now priority billing? Because there are many things I am thinking that I do not want to share. What’s your take? PS: Let me just add here, that after I saw that video, I wish VAvavoom could dance as well as her daughter SHA… The twisting, twerking, moves and steps were on point. #justsayinghttp://starttells.com/2016/01/13/comedian-alibabas-daughter-wins-the-best-in-mathematics-female-critic-comes-for-him/

Seun why not ban the Anti Spam Bot itself, it it is no longer effective. You have refused to set up a sticky complaints thread, all we do is to keep hovering the Mods profile sending them PMs which is never reacted to. I have sent a pm to OAM4J and Afam4eva yet no reply. Why not set up a complaints section like other big sites have, then have a moderator that channels the complaint to the person in charge who will charge of the situation. Finally get rid of that Anti Spam Bot of a thing. It is Anti Unique post rather. I do see Spam posts daily on Cartalk section from a guy using whether Chinese Language or what. If this Anti Spam Not is an Animal I will shoot it on site. Let Nairaland be Nigeria, then this is the reason why Nnamdi KANU hates it. |

According to The Telegraph, here is how you can do ur shopping like a pro, with a bit of dignity.. 1. Make a plan of action Doing Black Friday blind is a rookie error. A survey by the predictive analytics firm Blue Yonder found that people’s strategies include going to the shops in advance to work out where the product is located on the shelves, working in a team to hunt down the items and getting there as early as possible to queue. In fact, 87pc of people research products before hitting the shops and often feel better informed than the store associates, according to research by Salesforce. Do you really want to be one of those unsuspecting 13pc? You need a plan of action. 2. Do your shopping in Cardiff Cardiff could well be the best-mannered place to do your Black Friday shopping. A survey by Watchshop.com found that 77pc of people in the Welsh capital would never insult a member of staff and 72pc of its shoppers would never push into a queue. Edinburgh looks set to be a little rowdier. The research found that 46pc of shoppers there would jump the queue or insult a staff member to grab a discount of 50pc of more. A third of Edinburgh shoppers would insult or physically push another customer to get their hands on that bargain. 3. Get a doctor’s note Conlumino, the retail research agency, found that 8pc of consumers are planning to take a day off work to go shopping on Black Friday. Considering that there are 31.2m people in work, according to the most recent employment figures from the ONS, that means employers could be looking at 2.5m empty desks next Friday. If you’re taking the day out of your annual leave, good for you – a third of Britons don’t take their full yearly allowance of holiday. But if you are planning on phoning in sick, these are the ailments that elicit the most sympathy from bosses. meangirls_3505711b 4. Take a book (and a helmet) Customers were trampled last year when large retailers such as Asda opened in the morning, allowing shoppers who had been queuing all night to pour through the doors. Despite those scenes of carnage, a survey by the parcel pick-up company Doddle found that consumers are still willing to stand in queues this Black Friday to nab the best deals. Good things come to those who wait: shoppers are prepared to queue for 90 minutes for a bargain on a pair of shoes and for an hour and three quarters to grab a good deal on a new television, Doddle found. Black_Friday_waiti_3121541b 5. Forget the stores, go virtual Or you could just skip the queues altogether and shop online – it’s all the rage these days. Similar Web, the digital analytics company, said that traffic to H&M’s website more than doubled on Black Friday last year, while online visitors to Sports Direct and John Lewis were 96pc and 77pc higher than on an average day. John Lewis said its internet traffic between midnight and 6am on Black Friday was 307pc higher in 2014 than in the year before, which was itself four times busier than the retailer’s previous record. Black Friday traffic to AO.com was seven times higher last year than in 2013, with web visitors at 7am surging 13-fold. 6. Avoid the internet crowds However, the traffic surge meant that major retailers’ websites – including John Lewis, Tesco, Currys, PC World, Argos, GAME and Boots – started going down from around 7am last year. PCA Predict, the data service provider, noted that traffic surged between 7am and 11am on Black Friday last year. The busiest time of the day was 11am, when more than 40,000 transactions were completed, followed by 10pm. Overall, consumers spent £810m online during the day, and that is expected to break through £1bn this year. 7. Charge your phone So you can send Snapchats of all your purchases to everyone you know. But also because mobile shopping accounted for 26pc of all online transactions on Black Friday last year, and PCA Predict expects that to jump to 33pc this year. PCA’s co-founder Jamie Turner explained that smartphones have been upgraded since last year to have better screens that are larger and have higher resolution, making mobile shopping easier and more enjoyable. Apps might be more resilient to server crashes than websites – particularly as the majority of online transactions are still expected to take place via desktop computers. pca_predict_3505789a 8. Give yourself a budget (and avoid Asda) Conlumino also found that 9pc of consumers fear they will spend more than they can afford on Black Friday this year – rising to as much as 15pc of Asda shoppers. Since the research was conducted, Asda said it would tone down its Black Friday promotions, offering deals across the whole Christmas period instead of just one day. So you might be less inclined to splash out in the heat of the moment… but then again, now you have much more opportunity to spend your money. 9. Check it’s actually a deal Lovethesales.com crunched some numbers and found that between 10pc and 15pc of retailers’ stock is actually on sale at any given time during the year. “In reality, most retailers are on sale all the time – they just decide not to advertise it to avoid becoming yet another DFS,” the online retailer said. This chart from Lovethesales.com shows the total number of products on sale from hundreds of retailers over the past year. Black Friday actually offers fewer discounts than the post-Christmas period and the summer sales. sales_3505774b 10. Beware, play fair Andrew Yule, employment partner at the law firm Winckworth Sherwood, warns customers to be wary of “bogus websites and online scams”. Using a credit card is a good way of protecting yourself against fraud. And if you work in retail, take note: Mr Yule says that it is “strictly prohibited to get in ahead of the rush or to co-ordinate with friends or colleagues in order to take the pick of the offers available and then sell the items at a profit”. |
November 25, 2015, described as the biggest shopping day of the year, Black Friday is the day following the Fuchsia Thursday, The Thanksgiving Day . It is the day when you can shop with massive discounts that looks crazy with some items going up to 92% off. The day’s name originated in Philadelphia, where it originally was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic that would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. It also kick-starts the gift buying season for Christmas. Shopping Malls and E-Commerce sites during Black Friday, looks like a battle field where the fittest or the fastest fingers as the case maybe, survives. There will be a mad rush for that item you’ve got on your mind, which you have been dreaming of having. Some sites like Jumia,Konga, Yudala has already set in line fantastic deals that will sway your desires. A visit to Jumia has already promised a 50% discount on The Android One Device, Infinix Hot2. This means that the Infinix Hot2 which costs N21,500 on an ordinary day, will now be purchased at N10,700 on that day. A visit to konga.com shows that the Konga Yakata sales has already begun with the Thanksgiving Thursday. One may wonder what Konga Yakata stands for? Yakata is a Pidgin English adverb meaning things like completely, totally or utterly. So in this case all the prices are falling Yakata on Konga, hence Konga Yakata. Even Yudala which just launched some months back, are part of thus event. They have also promised that these massive discounts will continue till Cyber Monday. As a result, the traffic witnessed by these commerce sites will definitely skyrocket. When it comes to the offline shopping experience on that day, which is tommorow, there will be a high influx of shoppers trooping into Shoprite, Spar and many more malls. http://starttells.com/2015/11/26/what-you-need-to-know-before-making-your-black-friday-shopping/

Jumia said that they will slash 50% off Infinix Hot2, but they are only selling the 1gb ram on the guise of 2gb. They removed 500, from the cost only. |
Now see why I said it. Since I joined Nairaland, the anti spam bot has been doing a shitty. Mind you this is the biz account I opened, had to use it cox the Spam bots are at it again. I remember when I first joined, and was talking to thus dude on Religious section, I made a long statement that made sense to him. It was motivational. Sadly it couldn't reach him as the Anti Spam Bot blocked it. I ended up losing the article I wrote itself. Now recently after some other encounters with the Bot, it has banned me again on politics section for nothing at my personal account Nairaland.com/bossforeva I messaged the mods, no reply, meanwhile how do you expect a Mod who dn't log in frequently to reply. Notice the time on my phone. Somehow thus night, i saw the ban lifted and the thread, as soon after i modified the topic replacing a Small letter with Capital, I was banned again. I feel it is deliberate for a site as big as this not to have a Complaints Section or Customer Care. It is tyrannical.
