Senator Ayogu Eze commands an unbelievable loyalty and love of the people of
Enugu State.

How else can one explain what happened at Opi junction Nsukka if not an undying love and a passionate appeal to the Distinguished Senator to save the state from collapsing.

On sighting the convoy of the Senator (even as the day is getting dark-06:49PM) at the popular Opi Junction, the youths some of whom are okada riders came out singing and calling on the Senator to please come down and greet them as that will make their evening.

Senator Ayogu Eze true to his nature came down from his car to dance with the singing youths.

The victory of Senator Ayogu Eze in the coming governorship election in Enugu State is going to be landslide because the yearning for the Distinguished is unprecedented.

PoliticsACF Support Buhari Over Suspension Of Onnoghen by StateNews(op): 4:36am On Jan 31, 2019
The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has backed President Muhammadu Buhari over the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The ACF stated this in a communiqué after its meeting presided over by its chairman, Alhaji Adamu Fika in Kaduna

That among the assets he failed to declare are bank accounts in local and foreign currencies whose values run in millions of Naira. He also failed to declare other assets, including many houses and other landed property. That subsequent investigations have continued to unearth other property belonging to Justice Onnoghen, not declared,” the ACF noted.

The ACF, in the communiqué signed by Mr. Anthony Sani, Secretary-General of the forum, said Justice Onnoghen was said to have told investigators that the reason for his not declaring those assets was forgetfulness.

The forum said following the discovery of these infractions, the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), swiftly referred the matter to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) which made an order for the temporary suspension of the CJN in the interest of natural justice.

However, this action by the CCT has provoked intense controversy.

It said, “And yet, from a reading of all the facts of the matter, ACF cannot defend the position taken by the Hon. Justice Onnoghen, especially his insistence that he should first be tried by the National Judicial Council, of which he is Chairman. To do so would have allowed him the seat in judgment over his own case.

The ACF said it “deeply regrets the conduct of Justice Onnoghen, particularly his refusal to step aside and allow the due process of the law to take its course saying he has created the impression that his personal interests in this         matter supersede that of the judiciary and the nation.”

The ACF called on law enforcement agencies to strive to always execute their tasks in neat and professional manner in order to avoid creating perceptions of partisanship saying in the end, Nigeria cannot hope to develop and take its rightful place in the comity of nations unless and until it learns to respect  laws and enforce them fairly and consistently.

CrimeAt Last, Nigerian Govt Charges Babachir Lawal, NIA DG To Court by StateNews(op): 4:27am On Jan 31, 2019
The Federal Government has filed a 10-count charge bordering on allegations of fraud against the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, BabachirLawal, 15 months after he was suspended.

It also filed four-count charges of alleged fraud against a former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke, and his wife, Folashade Oke.

Mr Oke and his wife will be arraigned before Justice Aneke of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, February 1, 2019, while Mr Lawal will be arraigned before Abuja High Court next week.

Mr Lawal was fired as SGF by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 30, 2017 after being indicted and investigated for corruption.

President Buhari fired Mr Lawal, more than two months after he received the report of the probe panel he set up and after heavy criticism of how he handles graft allegations against his allies.

Vice President Osinbajo who headed the committee that probed Mr Lawal had submitted the report to the President on August 23

.Before being fired, Mr Lawal was on suspension for more than three months to allow for the investigation.

He was suspended in April for allegedly violating the law and due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).

In suspending him, the President set up a three-man panel headed by the Vice President.

Attorney-General of the Federation and the National Security Adviser were the two other members of the panel.

The committee was given 14 days to complete its investigation and submit its report to the President.

Politics2019: Count INEC Out Of Your Attacks – 30 Presidential Candidates Slam Obasanjo by StateNews(op): 1:18pm On Jan 22, 2019
Thirty presidential candidates in the February 16 election, has expressed disaffection with a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, for attacking the integrity of INEC to conduct credible elections in 2019.

The presidential candidates, who spoke under the banner of The Patriotic Presidential Forum (PPF), said they believe in the sincerity, credibility and capacity of INEC to conduct all elections, including the presidential polls of 16th February 2019.

The PPF chairman and presidential candidate of Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), Dr. Onwubuya John Breakforth, spoke on behalf of the forum at a press conference yesterday in Abuja.

He urged all Nigerians, other presidential candidates, political party leaders, political elites and all the candidates and voters to have faith in INEC’s integrity to conduct all the elections.

He wondered why leaders, who supposed to be bridge builders, have chosen to overheat the polity.

He added that they should remember that if the election turns violence, they will be the first to run out of the country and leave the masses to suffer.

His words: “We appeal to the former president and other opposition parties to count INEC out of any alleged APC rigging machinery.

“They should note that every political party contesting must have their legitimate plans to win. If APC is planning to rig, we believe INEC is not aware.

“INEC should put her machinery in motion to check out all this allegations. Our believe in INEC as a commission is not negotiable; the chairman of INEC is a Professor of repute and all the commissioners are Nigerians of proven integrity, we can trust them wholeheartedly.

“Therefore they will carry out their duties with competence and unbending neutrality. We are aware that INEC has perfected all her plans to deploy workable Card Readers and adequate distribution of all sensitive materials to the respectively states, LGA’s, Wards and polling units on time and uncompromised,” Breakforth said.

He insisted that the PPF is not speaking for INEC but that as a major stakeholder in the process, they are concerned about having uninterrupted electoral process.

PoliticsFear God – Retrenched Southern Kaduna Workers Tell El-rufai by StateNews(op): 4:53pm On Jan 21, 2019
Recently retrenched workers in Southern Kaduna on Monday urged Governor Nasir El-Rufai to fear God and pay their entitlements.

The retrenched workers, under the auspices of “Compulsory Retired Civil Servants in Southern Kaduna”, made the appeal on Monday in a statement signed by their Zone 3, Chairman, Comrade Markus Mathew Adankat.

They decried what they called impromptu retirement of civil servants, stressing that, “this is the second year that over 5,000 civil servants in Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone were laid off.

“Apart from primary school teachers and local government staff, many of our members were compulsorily retired from other state owned ministries and parastatals for just no cause.”

“While we remain loyal to the government, we equally want the governor to have the fear of God and pay us our legitimate benefits,” Adankat added.

PoliticsProtest As Ekweremadu Tries To Commission A Project Two Times(video)-s-reporters by StateNews(op): 12:40pm On Jan 20, 2019
The people of Egede, in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State on Saturday, 19th January 2019 rejected the Deputy Senate President Of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu over what they termed “Insult on their common sense”

The melodrama at Egede started when Senator Ekweremadu came to commission a project which according to the residents of the community he had commissioned in 2014 after repainting the said project.

StateReporter news  gathered that the angry community in their protest said they can no longer tolerate this ‘insult’ to their sensibilities by the politicians in their area they elected to represent them.

Chijioke, an indigene of the community who could not hide his anger, berated the DSP Ekweremadu for trying to use them for one of his political gimmicks not minding how they will feel.

“This so called project was commissioned by the same person that came here today in 2014, the substandard borehole worked for only 2days after the elaborate commissioning 5 years ago.

“Over a week ago, they repainted it, and like a dream he is here again for commissioning of the same moribund project, this is a big insult and we’ll not tolerate this to happen”, he said.

“We are not fools, no no no no no, we are not fools…”, shouted a young man who identified himself as Ikenna who joined the other youths of the community to in resisting the attempt by the Deputy Senate President to enter their community.

A lady who pledged anonymity, said she’s happy with what happened today as people are becoming aware and are beginning to stand up in total rejection of fraudulent projects, barefaced lies and propaganda.

The angry community members were seen carrying placards which they used in describing how they feel.
Some of the placards reads, “What happened to our constituency funds for 16 years”, “Ekweremadu we are not fools”, “Say No to Eze Pharaoh”, amongst others.

PoliticsMy Encounter With Gov Ugwuanyi. A Must Read! By Onugwu Hibiscus by StateNews(op): 10:25am On Jan 20, 2019
My Encounter with Gov Ugwuanyi. A must read! By Onugwu Hibiscus

THERE WAS A GOVERNOR.

I have never attached any distinct prominence to his Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi ugwuanyi except the little prestige that accompanied his ability to defy logic and political projections evident in his victory at the boisterous and crafty PDP primaries in Enugu 2015, to emerge the Governorship flag bearer of the party in a shocker that left political observers in awe.

I have never dreamt of being in a close range with the grand commander of the youth project in Enugu and Nigeria at large, neither have I voyaged into the verisimilitude of addressing him or listening to tap from his ocean of experience as a pioneer of the Nigerian project.

I have therefore allowed mere speculations, assumptions and hear-say to form the fulcrum of my perception of him. I have learnt a lesson that judging from a distance, leads only to impaired and uninformed conclusions.

It was on 10th January, 2019 that I wrote to Governor Ugwuanyi seeking support from him. Not because he is the governor, but I felt I have tried in my capacity to establish a giant media house in Nigeria where currently we have 5 staffs ,and I know that the governor is the type who also has the desire to support the startups of youth entrepreneurs to grow.

I was surprise I got a call from the Governor himself on 12th January at 6:23pm telling me that he will assist me in his own capacity. That my project is a nice one which will also create more job on the long run. I almost felt it was like a dream hearing from him. In his tone and language, he assured me to support me -Onugwu Hibiscus, however, he promised it would be immediately after the general elections as a he is very busy now.

I think the youths of Enugu state have a gold in their hand by having such a governor in power who listens to everyone not minding who you are, where you come from. I am not a member of any registered political party in Nigeria ,not even a politician and don’t even have interest in politics. My interest is to see I impact on people, create avenue that will create jobs, that was why I learned few skill that helped me to register my first company, Vistacool Technologies LTD back 2013 even as a student then. I handled minor contracts on ICT for few organization. I pay my school fees also support my friends who are in law faculty in UNEC,assit the less privilege in the society as today few familys are still eating from that effort I made back few years.
.
As a reward for my good work,
I got a text message from SSA on youth that I was nominated as 50 most influential youths in the state in 2018.

My second encounter with Gov ugwuanyi has cleared all my doubts about the governor. I now believe that we have a leader who is a born again, has the interest of people at heart and on a mission to turn Enugu State to Nigeria Dubai.

On 17th January I received a call from John Martin Chidozie, a governorship aspirant who intimated me of an impending visit of a youth alliance group in Enugu that wanted to pay a visit to the governor. He invited me to be part of the group. I declined, bringing to his fore that I don’t hobnob with politicians. However, after making it clearer, the motive of the visit which was all about youth advocacy for good governance, I decided to join him.

The essence was to partner with the government to help them train youths on skill acquisition.

On the slated date to sew the governor, I was a bit late because I was not in Enugu town. I had to meet them at the government house. Immediately, we were ushered in to the visitors room and in a couple of five minutes, Governor ugwuanyi joined us, took his time to give each of us a shake. A formal introduction followed. I was moved to shed tears on hearing the governor speak to us about what is happening in the state and what he has done for people around him. I was of the perception that the governor is enjoying the glory of his father’s wealth, until he told us he personally trained himself. In a challenging and fatherly tone he asked us if any of us here trained ourselves from secondary level till date, I and eleven others were able to identify with him.

He listened to everyone of us with rapt attention and while we spoke, he jotted down the points we made including the advice and solutions proffered. I couldn’t brace up with the realities, I felt my eyes where still covered with the biblical scale that blinded Saul on that ignoble journey to Damascus. The great Governor ugwuanyi taking advice from young us? We felt like we were the best political tacticians of the era and each and every one of us wore a face of pride and satisfaction. It was unbelievable to have advised Governor ugwunayi , our happiness was extensive without bounds.

Only in Ugwunayi resides a reformer, humanitarian politician, intelligent leader and an economic pace-setter. What an understatement!

What more can we expect from a true leader? It is a rare quality for a Nigerian politician to listen and assimilate the ideas of young us. A listening leader will meet not only the yearnings but also the aspirations of the people.

Gov .Ugwuanyi rekindled, rejuvenated and reinvigorated my waned hope in Nigerian politicians.

That singular characteristic has placed him in a vantage position that is not provided by mere mortals but prompted and made inevitable by the current situation of the country to liberate us from the woes of this era and place Nigeria once again in the hands of Nigerians where everybody especially the youths, irrespective of religion, region and tribes would be provided with a veritable atmosphere to hatch and harness their potentials.

It is a call to duty!

He spoke in a low tone, he was very apt and honest in his speech. I expected a barrage of hate speeches, insults, and diatribes on his perceived enemies and political adversaries as is ideal of Nigerian politicians, but I was roundly disappointed!

The two hours informed a lifetime opinion, and the lessons of those hours are capable of leading me not just for the rest of my life but also enough to overflow in my next coming.
A new generation leader and a healthy, dogged bridge builder lives in Gov Ugwuanyi.

However, the opposition party has resorted to a cheap propaganda by using a post I made previously about the working Governor to speak ill of him in a bid to detract me.

In the post, I thanked the governor for being a listening and youth cum entrepreneur loving father. One who has been investing in entrepreneurs and has also promised to support me in my pending project.

For this, those other political parties in the state who have no blueprint, and roadmap for their campaigns, should stop draging my name in the mud in order to score cheap political point following my previous write up.

They have resorted to mudslinging. They claimsl that the Governor is one who does not love entrepreneurs and doesn’t support people with vision, and that he would prefer to give only peanut to party members. In strong terms, I condemn this attempt to present the Governor in a bad light. And for the records, the Governor is a man who is indiscriminately responsive in advancing the course of Nigerian Youths and I know, he will personally support my project.

PoliticsNigerians Will Reject Some APC Governors, during Election – Babachir Lawal by StateNews(op): 8:43am On Jan 03, 2019
Babachir Lawal, former secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), says voters will elect candidates based on merit during the election.

While speaking with reporters in Yola, capital of Adamawa state, on Wednesday, he said unlike in 2015 when they voted “one party all through”, voters were now more critical and would only elect people with credible records.

He expressed regret that the “one way” voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporters threw up “many incredible candidates” but said such would not happen in 2019.

“In 2015, voters were asked to vote APC in all elections. That gave the party a massive momentum and all its candidates were returned elected,” he said.

“The situation will be different in 2019. Many governors and senators have not performed. They have not replicated President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance. Such people will be voted out.”

Babachir said Nigeria could only move forward if credible people were elected as leaders, saying no elected leader would be allowed to ride to power on Buhari’s “credible outing”.

The former SGF accused Abubakar Bindow, governor of Adamawa, of non-performance, and advised APC members and supporters to “urgently do the right thing at the right time”.

“There are candidates that are far better than the current governor,” he said.

In October 2017, Buhari fired Lawal after he was indicted by a senate panel probing the humanitarian crisis in the north-east.

The former SGF was accused of misappropriating funds and abusing his office.

PoliticsSenator Nnamani Are You Ashamed Of Apc-ben Nwoye Asks by StateNews(op): 12:57pm On Dec 31, 2018
The Enugu State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye has challenged one of the leaders of the party in the state, Sen. Ken Nnamani to clarify a statement he made while commissioning a four-room building with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Dr. Nwoye asked Sen. Nnamani to explain why he could not campaign openly for his party’s governorship candidate but was telling the PDP governorship candidate that “a good product markets itself” and promised that when the time comes he will say where his “people belong”.

“This is very misleading. Could it be that Sen. Nnamani is so ashamed of his political party that he could not canvass openly for the party?”, Dr. Nwoye wondered.

The party chairman said the APC in Enugu State had observed Sen. Nnamani’s double standard for far too long, adding that the party can no longer fold its arms and watch him de-market the APC in Enugu State.

“We deplore this attitude of being APC in Abuja and PDP in Enugu State “, the Chairman said, asking: “How can the Vice Chairman South APC Presidential Campaign Council feel more comfortable in the midst of candidates of the PDP than amongst APC candidates almost on the even of an election?”

Dr. Nwoye said that Sen. Nnamani was surrounded at that event by candidates of the opposition PDP for various offices, and wondered what signal he was sending to APC teaming supporters in Enugu State.

“This is a man who has just been unveiled as the Vice Chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council romancing and hobnobbing with the opposition party and making insinuations that his people would vote for the opposition “, the party chieftain noted, adding: “It is these same people that go to Abuja to mislead the authorities that the PDP governor in Enugu State is working for Buhari. Nothing can be farther from the truth. How can the PDP Governor work for Buhari when he is still busy campaigning for PDP Presidential and National Assembly candidates?”

He said that APC is very strong in Enugu state and the South East zone and urged the authorities in Abuja to ignore the self-serving misinformation being propagated by PDP apologists like Sen. Nnamani who market the story that the APC needs some help from PDP in the South East in order to reelect Buhari.

“How can people who are so scared of their impending loss of election be the same people being touted to help the APC? We want to say it loud and clear that the APC will sweep the polls in Enugu State. We don’t need anybody to help us. Buhari will score over 90% of the votes that will be cast in the South East”, he said.

He warned Sen. Nnamani that the party will not hesitate to commence disciplinary action against him should he persist in his anti-party utterances and activities, urging him to retrace his steps forthwith.

“Sen. Nnamani has a choice to make: to remain in the APC or to return to the PDP where it seems he feels more comfortable. He can’t belong to both parties at the same time”, Dr. Nwoye noted.

The news of Shehu Shagari’s death marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s political history.

He was an epitome of peace, humility, and never ever lost his cool even at the height of his powers as one of Nigeria’s most powerful presidents.

Nigeria will miss his simplicity and his unique brand of politics without bitterness.

Enugu in the Hand of God, my foot: The untold story of ESBS casual workers!*
By

The Nigeria market is awash with numerous troubles and because work is instrumental to livelihood, people go out to work under worst human condition.
What do say of a graduate, practicing journalism with state owned institution receiving N15, 000 per month and that is less than 42 dollars per month.

Casualisation contravenes Section 7 (1) of the Labour Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The Act provides that, “Not later than three months after the beginning of a worker’s period of employment with an employer, the employer shall give to the worker a written statement specifying the terms and conditions of employment, which include the nature of the employment and if the contract is for a fixed term, the date when the contract expires.”

Casual staffing is also at variance with provisions of section 17 (a) of the Constitution, which guarantees “equal pay for equal work”. The section frowns at discrimination on account of sex or any other ground whatsoever and so the discrimination in pay between permanent and casual employees should not exist.

While the labour unions obviously lack the powers and authority to stamp out casualisation, they often times rely on various conventions and regulations of international organisations such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO) to carry out picketing of premises of firms that engage in the practice.

A report published by the campaign for democratic workers’ rights, showed that 45 per cent of the workforce in Nigeria operates as casual workers while 50 per cent of the burden of casualisation exists in the downstream oil and gas sub sectors of the economy, telecommunication, banking, construction, mining and some other work places.

According to experts, the development is assuming a worrisome dimension because of the saturated labour market and quest to maximize profits by multinationals and other corporate entities worst still when state government indulge in this shameful and inhuman practices. To save for who and for what?

Speaking at a rally to mark the 2018 May Day in Abuja, the President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba, who spoke on outsourcing and casualisation of labour, said Nigerian workers can no longer offer their labour to slave drivers whose only interest is profit maximization and capital mobility.

He Sounded a note of warning to employers thus: “Our laws allow all workers to exercise their freedom of association to belong to unions of their choice in line with the provision of ILO convention 87 and section 40 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Now tell me why an elected government of Enugu can also connive to treat and enslave her own people in this way.

The pathetic story of casual workers at ESBS is terrible and one that should have triggered revolt from the workers but as me and you know, the poor is poor because s/he is poor and that is why they are treated the way the are treated. Who will speak for them?

The above assertion is not new in Nigeria job market but when a government elected by the people to use their resources to better their lives of the people continue to act in a such a wicked and insensitive manner, it calls for serious attention and revolt.

The majority of this casual workers at ESBS who have not received penny for months are made up of youth. The future leaders as the the elite said, still their future on daily bases is being sabotaged and lives threatened including the security of others because a hungry man they say is an angry man.

*The graduates they employed are receiving 15k per month for years now, at a time the management of ESBS connived wit DEC Microfinance bank Enugu to start cutting 1k per month on all the casual workers/guests artists in favor of this wicked merchants whose hearts as dark as charcoal. Who will protect the poor?*

The so called House Committee on information, very selfish and political merchants claimed ‘Honorable’ who is like pencil in the hand of the executive also been bought, because they gets their own share from the deduction of even the little allowance given to these poor youth. God help African youth especially the helpless fellows.

As we take over administration of Enugu state come 2019, there is will be nothing like CASUAL WORKERS in any government establishment. We have stated it before, the youth and the poor, i mean the poorest of the poor form the reason why we are coming into politics. Is a youth revolution. And As the governor of Enugu state, we will be moving hundreds of thousands of people from abject poverty in two years.

No more shall we step aside fold our arms and watch the destinies and lives of our great fellows go down the drain. And if the administration fail to look into the plight of these helpless fellows at ESBS, then watch out the mass protest from youth across the state, we will shut down ESBS till this people are well care for. They are human being with responsibilities.

*Say no to casualization of workers, say no to youth enslavement.*

Together as Youth we can build a new world in Africa soil.

PoliticsAyogu Eze Promised To Run A Working Government As Enugu Indigenes In Lagos by StateNews(op): 7:16am On Dec 25, 2018
Your desire to get a government that will work for Enugu People will never be in vain- Senator Ayogu Eze as he addresses Enugu State indigenes in Lagos

Enugu indigenes resident in Lagos State yesterday

day, 23rd December, 2018 hosted Senator Ayogu Eze, the APC standard bearer for Enugu State governorship election in next year’s election.

The two time senator was in the commercial city to parlay with his people used the opportunIty to enjoined the people to vote for “the broom” stating that “with the broom, we will vote for our president, vote for our governor and vote for our house of assembly members.

Speaking about his plans for the state on infrastructure and human development, Senator Eze said;
“I want to assure you one thing; that in six months time, after we have taken office, you will not be able to recognize your state again.
“I have promised you and I am very committed to it that within the first of one year, there would be water in every tap in Enugu State.

“I will work with all of you to make sure every ward is delivered. I will work with all of you to make sure our place is developed. We will build roads for our people, and develop our health sector.

“Right now if you go to Enugu state, no health facility is working, not one. I give you an example, somebody was short on the head, they took him to the highest of hospital in Enugu State which is Parklane hospital; a teaching hospital. They did not have ordinary bandage.

“Those of you from Nkanu west will know that there was a traditional ruler in Akpugo who was beaten by members of his community. They took him to Parklane hospital, they couldn’t attend to him. There was no stretcher to carry him so that they can give him attention. The man died. Enough of these deaths of our people.

“We are going to provide Maternity facilities for our women. We are going to provide food on the table for our people.

“There is enough resources in Enugu state to provide those facilities. If anybody tells you that there is no money in Enugu, he is lying to you. There is enough resources in Enugu state and we are going to use it to work for our people. I want to thank all of you that have gathered here together for what you are doing.

“We want to make sure that from next year, all our pensioners that are dying without being paid will be paid their money.

“I want to tell you that we are going to create employment for our people.”

“We are going to provide a lot of facilities and amenities for our people and especially, we are going to make sure that everybody of school age must go to school, because we know, what you earn is related to what you learn. If you learn, you earn. Your ability to learn also affects your ability to earn.

“Whether you are a businessman or you are working for the government, if you are educated in what you are doing, you will earn more and be more useful to society.

“In fact, one of the things we want to do in Education is to make sure we empower our people in all sectors; especially in technical colleges, tertiary education and vocational education.
“We will empower our people to be able to use their hands to do things for themselves and be able to depend upon themselves.”

The APC candidate who couldn’t hide his Joy for the show of solidarity assured his hosts that he will not disappoint them and promised to run a very transparent government.

” I want to let you know that this effort you have made today; you are not travelling to go and enjoy with your brothers, sisters, friends and well-wishers, but you are working to make sure you put an accountable government in Enugu state; I will not let you down.

“There will be a new development of leadership of accountability. Leadership that will be answerable to the people.

“Every year, we must audit and publish the accounts of the state for everybody to see.”

Answering the question about what he did when he was a senator, ge saud “I did quite a lot in the area of empowering our people, giving them federal jobs and creating opportunities for so many.
“In fact, since the beginning of representation of our state, not a single person in the state has done what I have done.
“I brought a radio station that is broadcasting even in local dialects today-  Voice fm in Nsukka.
“I brought two NTA stations that are under construction – one in Nsukka and one in Udi. “I brought Digital Bridge Institute that is empowering our people with ICT skills cited in Enugu and so many other things.
“So If I did all these when I was not controlling any budget, you will be able to imagine what I will do when we take over the governance of our state.

“We also attracted a number of roads for our people, but unfortunately the Government did not implement those roads.
“Now when I control the budget I will build these roads and open up our areas and lift our place to a higher standard, thus I want to assure you as I promised that I will not disappoint you.”

Answering a question about herdsmen attack, Senator Ayogu said “that problem is being tackled by the federal government; by ensuring that they encourage the people who are doing this business to create ranches. To put their animals in their places so that they don’t wander about.

“The governors especially our own did not protect our people when the attacks came. They gave them information about two months before that attack happened in Nimbo, but they did nothing until that attack happened.
“They did not tell the commissioner of police. When we get such information, we will contact the IG of police, and all the security agencies to make sure our people are not attacked.”

PoliticsChristmas:enugu APC Guber Candidate Sen Ayogu Eze, Promises Brighter Future by StateNews(op): 9:16pm On Dec 24, 2018
Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC in Enugu State, Senator Ayogu has asked Nigerians to use the Christmas celebration as an opportunity for sober reflection.

Senator Eze in a statement entitled “ Enugu: A brighter future beckons” issued to newsmen in Enugu on Monday expressed concern about the challenges facing Enugu people occasioned by what he described as mis-governance of the current administration in the state.

He charged the people of Enugu state to support his vision of securing a better future where genuine interests of all will be guaranteed.

The statement reads:

“On behalf of my family, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Enugu State, I wish you happy celebrations of Christmas, with promises of better Christmases”.

“I look at the damage an administration that has forgotten, neglected, and consigned the interests of the people to the background has caused; I feel the pains of our people. Enugu State certainly deserves better than the current mis-governance”.

“In almost four years, we have seen our State deteriorate to unimaginable depths. Christmas is a time of celebrations, but also offers opportunities for sober reflections about the conditions of Enugu State. Beyond the reflections, we should act to redeem Enugu State from unmitigated doom this administration offers”.

“I will spend most of the holidays in continued consultations with our peoples, across Enugu State, on how, together, we would harvest a better future for Enugu State, for the benefits of our people. That future, a brighter future, beckons”.

“The 2019 Christmas celebrations will be better as we make Enugu work again with me as your Governor”.

PoliticsNo APC Governorship Campaign Office Burnt In Enugu.- Okey Ugwuada Ezirigwe by StateNews(op): 7:52pm On Dec 23, 2018
RE: BURNING DOWN OF ONE OF APC GOVERNORSHIP ASPIRANTS OFFICE AND VEHICLES IN ENUGU

Our attention has been drawn to a calumny campaign by a faceless group claiming that the defunct campaign office of one Geroge Ogara who was an unsuccessful aspirant in the past APC governorship primary election in Enugu state was attacked in Enugu and that supporters of our governorship candidate may have been responsible.

Ordinarily we would have ignored it knowing that all that they wanted to achieve was to draw attention to themselves.

To set the records straight for the public however, we wish to state as follows:
1. This unsigned piece of fake news is a stunt by George Ogara and his cohorts to attract attention, having lost the primary election.
2. It’s a stage-managed hoax, designed to distract the Sen. Ayogu Eze Campaign Organisation from the serious issues of election and to waste precious time joining issues with a non-existent candidate, known only in the delusional imagination of those who have been funding him and goading into a mission impossible.
3. We don’t believe his so-called office was attacked but if it was, it must have been orchestrated by him to draw attention to himself.
4. If the police is investigating the attack as the poorly coordinated fake news claimed, why rush to name anyone as suspect even before the police comes out with their investigation?
5. George Ogara is not a threat to the Sen. Ayogu Eze Choice 2019 Campaign Organisation and cannot therefore warrant any supporter of Sen. Ayogu Eze wasting precious time and energy to attack a moribund campaign office.
6. Our campaign is focused on issues of mis-governance and has no time for violence. Our principal, Sen. Ayogu Eze abhors violence and will not condone it by any of his supporters or anybody within his campaign structure.
7. We call on the police to investigate the so-called attack, if it ever happened, and bring anybody indicted to book.
8. We are convinced that this is part of the antics of some disgruntled people, elements who claim to be APC in the day but PDP at night.
This is clearly an orchestrated and coordinated onslaught by these elements and the PDP government in the state.
9. We call on our teaming supporters to ignore these attempts to divert attention from the impending fall of the PDP government in Enugu State.
10. We’re too focused on the victory of President Muhammad Buhari and all our candidates in the polls next year to have time to be chasing shadows.
