Emma1Oj: Oga, go and create your own country and run it the way you like.. The nonsense your leaders are doing here have you been able to confront them? You are here ranting, trying to dictate to another man, in his own country on how to run his country.
Those countries you talked abt don't they have their university? Why can't they study in their country?
Beside, Americans know Trump is a no nonsense man reason y they voted him massively... Your first paragraph hit hard. I am sure he has no reasonable answer |

BouquiLake: It's ironic how we perceive these oppressors as helping us when they open their borders with enticing visa schemes. They cleverly use us to develop their countries, and once they've achieved their goals, they tighten the restrictions on us with stricter visa requirements. They take the best of our talent to maintain their status as developed nations while draining the resources from so-called developing countries, ensuring they stay underdeveloped. I've been around for over 50 years, and I've never seen a developing country successfully transition to a developed country. It's quite disheartening! See what is happening in the US, UK, Canada, etc deep |

Feldie: it's easy to blame the people for cultism while the government abdicate themselves of their duty to build infrastructure. I have lived in Edo all my life and have never experienced any cultist disturbances. I'm sure it's the same for over 90% of the people here but we've suffered from decrepit infrastructure. This is similar to Ortom failing to pay salaries and then blaming Fulani herdsmen Still it does not absolve the cultism movement rising and killing able youth in our community. I stayed in Edo for six year and schooled in Uniben, almost every now and then, cultist activities every seconds Bad road need to be fixed as well but it is not a requirement for fighting cultism |

Feldie: Really? I would've thought it would have something to do with the fact that there are no roads here. You are much more likely to drive or walk into a ditch filled with muddy water in the middle of the road in broad daylight than to run into cultists fighting or whatever they do Cultism and bad road and not mutually exclusive. Both must be tackled, don’t distract us |

pepericozi: Leave these people now. You are running after shadow while there are some pen thieves in government circle moving freely with stolen money.
If you visit the homes of some government officials, you will open your mouth widely when you see exotic cars of different brands parked in the compound. In the next 10 years, some of these vehicles will not be used for a day.
Left to me, l will leave them since those in government circle are not affected. This is the only way they can benefit from the national cake. Chikenak . Yes you seem to make a good point but your last statement is you clearly trying to justify criminality in other words sympathizing with criminals. If we begin to move with such mentality then almost every criminal has a story to justify their actions. Criminality is a choice, it’s a way of life, you can fight the system or you can join the system. No one said fighting it will be easy, not today, not yesterday and I am sure not in my life time. |

nairalanda1: The oil revenue has never been enough. That is part of why we borrow...and why even before looting and corruption, our budgets have been low.
Even now, our budget for this year is 30 trillion naira...which is not enough for a nation our size, which is dependent on oil being at least 75 dollars per barrel, and which even has to be supplemented with a loan anyway.
That is why I always shout on this site....we got to do what china, south korea did. DO that, and we can really talk. But tinubu wants us to get more oil and to borrow...lol. That was not true. We sold most of our oil on loan and mismanaged the rest. https://nairametrics.com/2024/06/06/afrexim-bank-disburses-another-925-million-under-nnpc-3-3-billion-loanAlso Naira devaluations thanks to capital flight and money laundering. Iamdbull: I see people here complaining about their bet addiction but I can tell you for free that's child's play compared to my fruitless journey in music.
I just wonder why I have so much passion, love and energy for something that will never work for me in a million years. And it's been like that since I was 5. I just wondered why God didn't kill this passion inside me.
I am going to be 31 on my next birthday and am here in my parents house after wasting millions of naira on my failed career.
I could have had a decent life with my own wife and probably a kid or 2 but here I am in debts because of another failed music venture.
To add insult to injury, everybody here hates me more than anything probably because have disturbed their Earlobes with the horrible things I sing that I call music.
As much as I will like to read people's comment here, I doubt I will be emotionally capable because am afraid I will still be insulted due to hatred people have for me here.
My prayers for everyone is may you never be in love and passionate about anything or anyone that won't work out with you or for you.
Amen! Find something that can make ends meet for now |

nairalanda1:

You guys will be comparing yourself to developed nations, yet when people tell you what them developed nations did to be developed, you will start complaining and deflecting.
Even the boreholes we dig, the truth is, we could pipe water to every house in Nigeria, but the maintenance cost...paid in form of monthly water bills...you guys will start screaming poverty. Boreholes are far cheaper to build and maintain..lol.
As for why we don't have robot army...at independence, instead of focusing on building an industrial economy, we tried to build a society based on revenue from cash crops, minerals, and oil...whose prices we do not control...meaning that revenue has always been unstable, and we are chronically broke and taking loans, and fighting over who is best leader based on tribe (all our leaders are bad).
And we always blame corruption (partly true, but not the whole story) or the WHITES or IMF for our underdevelopment.
When you guys are ready to vote in leaders who will use our resources to build stuff...that we can export for cash, that is when we go see development.
(Don;t compare us to Saudi and UAE. The day the oil runs out in those countries, we go know what's up) What did we do with our own oil? |

badoh: So sorry for the tragic loss and the continued unprofessionalism of the Nigeria Police force. Our people should try and comply with instructions given by police on the highway either for their safety or the safety of others. Just few minutes of waiting might be the only grace to avoid someone loosing his or her life. Police in advanced countries cannot stop you on the highway without you complying with the order because there are consequences for it. I understand our personnel do things to the extreme but for some of us that wants a better Nigeria, let's learn to always obey instructions and call the police out when it is necessary. The pulling of trigger on the victim is a no-no, it's a callous act from the personnel and the officers involved need to be sanctioned, dismissed and charged to court to serve as a lesson for others.
