we can not do nothing because of those girls

only God knows what they have been subjected to in the last 300 days

I support the military strategy with neighbouring countries on board

1.5m Nigerians are displaced and could be disenfranchised. Taking an oppotunity to give them the chance to vote is not a bad idea. 6 weeks delay is not too long. Let us carry all parts of Nigeria along in the democratic process.
Its looking like a battle between helping 1.5m displaced people return home and sacrificing the Girls or vice versa
PoliticsGEJ's 6 Weeks Defense Strategy On Boko Haram by stelaar(op):
This maybe to score political points by the president.
But in the next few days

-GEJ meets with AU (african Union) for an Agreement to Deploy External Military forces

-About 7000 foreign troops from all the Neighboring countries to the NE (Niger, chad, Cameroon) would take defensive measure around their borders.

-Reminder-Boko Haram attacks and retreats to this countries so they would be blocked at the borders.

-The military would gradually make a circumference around them and gradually into simbisa moving into the core/radius and they would be boxed and surrounded.

-At this Boko haram Activities would be drastically reduced.

And if this measures are kept in place, there would be no external links to provide them with weapons and ammunition.

-My sad feeling...if we go on full blast on boko haram we mite never be able to get our girls back as they may serve as a sacrificial lamb to get back the NE.

Sentor Ojudu (In Denim)And the Deputs Governor Ekiti(Female)

A Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Ojudu represents Ekiti Central District and was elected on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria and in this interview he explains some misconception about their take home pay....Very interesting read.

There are speculations that Senators earn N40 million quarterly as constituency allowance. Is this true?

Babafemi Ojudu: No, that is not true. There is nothing like constituency allowance. I have been telling people this all along. There is nothing like that in the National Assembly.

Is there a bulk amount you collect every month to maintain your constituency office and aides?

OJUDU: What they say is bulk amount is not given to you as a Senator. How it operates is this: if a Senator goes on oversight function, when he returns, he can access the fund and get a refund of what he spent on the trip – hotel, tickets and other expenses. Salaries of the five allowed aides are also paid from the fund.

What I am trying to clarify is this: apart from your monthly salary, is there any money you collect quarterly as running expenses?

OJUDU: That is what I have just explained. We don’t collect it in bulk. The fund is there for your operation and as you spend, you get refunds

How much is the money?

I think each Senator has access to about N30 million quarterly. But get it right, it is not that you will just collect N30 million cash every quarter. Once you go on operation, you retire and get refund from the money, up to a maximum of N30 million per quarter. It is not also about constituency management.

So, what is this N30 million called?

OJUDU: It is called running expenses. You maintain your office, staff, internet and things like that. Sometimes, you will have to travel for conference or whatever; you draw from this fund to a maximum of N30 million per quarter.

So, it is not that they will just give N30 million cash every quarter to every Senator?

OJUDU: No, no, no. Definitely not. That information is wrong. The thing about this is that people just look at this money, without looking at the responsibilities of a lawmaker. Now, I am going from Lagos to Ado-Ekiti with a retinue of 10 people. We are going to receive officials of the ministry of tourism. I am going to feed the 10 aides, fuel the vehicles. From there, I will go to Abuja for another official function. I am not justifying it. I am only saying that people only look at the figures without looking at the responsibilities. This morning, when I woke, my phone was filled with text messages. By the time I get to Ado, I will meet not less than 100 people waiting for me in the house for one financial assistance or the other. They are all waiting for money. People make all kinds of funny financial requests. One day, I was in the house and somebody came to me and requested that I should help him pay the rent of his office in Lagos. I was wondering how this could be part of what we were elected to do.

A colleague of mine died about a month ago. A week before his death, we were together at a function in Lagos and he kept complaining about the financial pressure on him. He said to keep himself safe, he had to hire 12 policemen, each of them taking N100,000 per month with three meals. When he is at home, there will be about 200 people waiting for him for one assistance or the other. And I said, ‘look, take it easy. If you die, somebody else will jump into that seat.’ Do you know that he slumped and died barely four days after our discussion? The financial pressure is too much.

You get invitation for things like house-roofing. You have to pay school and hospital bills for so many people. I always tell my colleagues that we should come together and fashion out a way to take care of our people collectively, to reduce the pressure on us. All the money you claim we receive is returned to the people. Last December, I had to borrow money to buy 200 bags of rice. We have to sit down with the executive and fashion out a way to reduce poverty in the country. We are doing most of the jobs the executive should be doing. Can you go to an American senator and ask for cash? He would be wondering if you are crazy. Here, people don’t have access to governors. People can come to my house any time of the day. All we do everyday is go to the bank, collect cash and share to people.

How much is the take-home of a senator after all deductions?

OJUDU: It is about N1 million.

PoliticsA Senators Monthly Salary + Allowance(Aprox 1.5Million Naria) by stelaar(op):
With all the lies and false information people are spreading about the salary packages of a senator, it's a shame a lot of people don't even look at the break down and understand it...

How can you pay someone housing every month?

Or car loan every month?

Or a yearly basic salary every month?

Or gratuity every month?

C'mon guys...you should be smarter than that.

Note: A SENATOR on average takes home about 1.5MILLION Naria every month.

PoliticsGej's Ministers Score Cards On The PDP Governorship Primaries by stelaar(op): 4:50pm On Dec 09, 2014
I guess the Minister of FCT Bala Mohammed would be having a good laugh right now after He was able to see beyond the light and read the body language that the people in His Home State would Reject him.

After a shoddy press briefing by one of his Aides, the Best excuse to come up with was the locals of Abuja Begged him to stay and not contest as he has been the Best Minister they have had? I mean can you get a load of that?

Well that been said, a hand full of ministers dropped their Plum Cabinet Positions with greedy large eyes on the cake of their home states without asking themselves if they had any Moral or Past work justification to vie for the office of the Governor of their Various states.

Onyebuchi Chukwu had feed the fire of pride in Himself that He curtailed Ebola and as such he deserved to be governor of his state for a job well done, a Job that should have only been Credited to Dr Adadevoh (RIP) and the Lagos State Government. Well the Polls failed him.

Onto Obanikoro or Onikoro with His temporary high and having a taste of DSS agents surround him on a 24hr basis Probably wanted to intimidate the pdp in lagos for the ticket like it was His Birth Right, But Baba Bode George was having none of that...I bet Obanikoro wished BG was still in prison after the Results of the Election.

Labaran Maku...if elections were won by how loud your mouth is, our Maku would have been coasting home to victor in his home state, its said that all He ever had to do was talk and as they say...talk is cheap.

Emeka-Wogu...I guess a lot of people would not even know Him or probably they do as regards to a few press briefings on strike..."Ochendo Global" the emeritus Mathematician of Abia Politics didn't have Emeka in any of His Political equations...sadly the results of the workings didn't have him too.

Where these ministers judged by there performance? As it seems No one from the Cabinet, apart from Wike who has the Backing of Mama peace, won His Primaries.
PoliticsThe Average Nigerian Delegate And High Tendecies To Sell Out At Primaries by stelaar(op): 2:28pm On Dec 08, 2014
I Must Say I have been really impressed with the way Nigerians have been carried along with regards to the line up for the 2015 Elections. From the sale of interest forms/Nomination to organizing delegates in the different parties, we have all been able to witness or observe the processes involved which a lot of us won't say the same as regards to 2011 or 2007.

In the course of the various stages involved in the PDP and APC, I happened to be exposed to first hand information on running a campaign and loop holes involved.

With the above said and most of the party primaries coming to an end, its a shame that the delegates we send to vote are to be held responsible or blamed for the actions of any candidate as 70-80% of these Delegates have sold their Souls for Money and do not have an independent Mind in casting votes.

I Bet if a Goat comes out and decides to share loads of cash...this same delegates would turn up in numbers to press the ballot papers in the Goat's Favor.

As a Case Study in a certain state, Some Delegates at 8pm had come to shout on top of their voices for a candidate at his residence and collected a Minimum of 100,000 Naira Each a night to primaries, Chanting that the incumbent Member must leave and there is No going back, He has Failed to Visit his People or provide any form of development...Fast forward to 4am and a Serving M******* and c******* of a local Government make phone calls to these delegates to assemble at a discreet location to collect 200,000 Naira Each and a Samsung Mobile phone in favor of the incumbent, they Gladly Collect and 9am a few of them call to Beg the other candidate to step down for Peace on the day of the Primaries, have in mind they have been eating breakfast, lunch and dinner on the expense of this candidate for the past 3 weekshuh....These same Delegates arrive at the Primaries Saying there is no vacancy for the Slot and ***** till 2019 huh?.

Its Sad to say and I understand why a lot of Honest People have still refused to involve themselves in Politics.

Food for thought: No matter how much people cajole you to run for office, you don't have to hold a post or position to affect your community or people positively if you genuinely want to, give what you have, Help the People you can and live a Happy life.
