They usually stamp the passport if they want to punish you may be if found fake document on your application. 3Runes: Thanks for you input but how exactly do you understand what they found "unconvincing?". If I knew, then we could immediately redress it. The link to my brother was clearly stated. Actually, all documents they requested from us was included there, including my passport bio page. My stamped bank statements, and I even took it down to our city hall and it was notarized. I would have completely withdrawn from the picture since he has enough money in his account but these are sums that I put there for his travel and I believe I must explain it as wonderfully advised here. |
The conference you are attending does it have a link with the where you are working? The link of your brothers relationship must be clearly stated. He is suppose to give you the Bio data of his passport. If you are working then they suppose to give you a leave letter from your place of work to show you are going to return after the conference. Actually your documentation is not convincing as they said . Paying for accomodation is not a problem with application but whenever someone is sponsoring you, they have to be convinced on that. Your account statetment does not even matter so far you convince them that your brother is really your sponsor. You can ask anything so that I understand the situation. 3Runes: Hello Collins, |
Any link for live streaming of this match pls. I need urgently |
No university is relatively cheaper but what you have to put into consideration is the are wheree it is situated. Life is expensive at cape town and potcheftroom because it is dominated by whites. Those universities at pretoria and joharnessburg should be better compare to other logistics. But in terms of standard potchefstroom is very high and cape town. Pretoria is the best in standard and cost of things is also moderate. joseman3: we appreciate ur contributions. Pls which of the universities is relatively cheaper? Thanks |
Withdrawing application is what they want. So if you can't be patient you write the embassy and they will return your international paspport after 7 working days and withhold every other document you submitter oyesams: I dont know if one can withdraw application from one place to another cos my mum applied for the VISA on the 4th of January at Lagos but no response as at today..its becoming annoying cos what she is coming to do is becoming late now. |
Friends I obtained my study permit after 4months my documents was held without explanation at the embassy. Somethings caused the delay but I later sorted it out. If you want to hold the embassy on the neck for your permit, pay in registration money to the school and attach the receipt. They will never deny you all other documents being real. No need of agent. @ Stenaco. Congrats. I was following ur study permit issue with the high commission last year. Never knew you got the permit. No feedback to the house. Hope you have settled down. Issue of job for a student depends on many things. Your study permit allows you to do part time work but all this depends on your location, course and background. There is generally high unemployment rate. Most students do odd jobs like night shift waiters and cleaners or others The money is small but will augment u. If your course schedule is light not 8am to 5pm like some research program, u can even do day time shift. It is easier if u are in big cities like Joborg, Pretoria and Cape Town. There is fear and hatred for naijas but as a student u are more acceptable. Can also move closer to Naija professionals who u can meet in churches like RCCG, Winners, Christ Embassy. They have their links and can help especially with naija biz men but be careful about naijas on d street, most are into shaddy things and can clean you out.[/quote] |
The fees here are very costly and there is no work to do. But if you have the money the standard of academics is worth paying for. Pelumiv: How is studying in SA and the fee like? |

I was requested to come at the embassy after three months of my submission for a study permit without a response and I was told that they can't find the passport I used for the application that I should bring another one for them. I did thinking they are going to give me my permit after that still they said I should come by first week of January to collect my international passport. I told them that I made a booking to travel by 29th of december still they could not listen and insisted I should come next year which will make it four months they have my international passport.I don't know if anything is wrong. They year I have in my passport is less than the years I am supposed to stay in south africa I don't know if that will be a problem |

godstino: U R D BIGGEST AWARENESS-SEEKING MAD MAN I AV EVER SEEN..imagin u calling an institution mad cos u cant make a first class and therefore resolved it is impossible to attain... 2nd class lower in my school can compete with those so called first class students you are talking about. The rate in which all these yoruba univerisities gives first class still baffles me |
The school must be mad. How come that rate of first class in one batch of graduation. Which way Nigeria. |
I submitted my application about three months ago fora study permit. I got them on phone in the morning friday and they said that I should call in the afternoon to know what is holding it and I could not get them again. My cousing went in person to see them they said that they will need to see me and they don't any further details for him . Could there be any problem |
Mr friend got his 3yrs Visa to SA yesterday without SAQA and HESA evaluation and exemption respectively. I am waiting for mine I hope it will come soon as well. |
How do I track my study permit application online. I don't have the information required to be used. I could remember it was asking about I number I don't even have. |
It is close to three months I submitted for my study permit but I have not heard from the embassy. Whenever we go to check for it they say it is not fully processed. Does it take this time? I am getting tired of the whole delay although I am meant to travel by December ending. What do I do because their numbers are not going instead. |
Is it possible for someone collect my international passport for me from the embassy since I am not staying there. |
Image123: Like i said previously, this stuff is a two way thing. There are differences of administration and different instances. It is wrong for one group to force its myopic thinking on the other in this case. It is possible to pay instrumentalists in some administrations if there is the need. It is also possible not to pay instrumentalists in some other administration if there is no need. i see that in this thread, the 'pay instrumentalists' team are trying to force their views on everyone. Na church get fault, no bi you. In the proper sense, there is no need for you. It is because the today's church has placed a high value on entertainment that you are having mouth. You for don die of hunger if you be first century christian looking for church to pay you for playing instruments. Thank God, me sef sabi play instrument, so i "qualify" to talk according to many of you. i learnt and am still learning on mine own too. i happen to like music. If you are an instrumentalist by profession, well my advice is that you find a job instead of looking for church that will pay you to play. Little wonder, church music is so powerless these days, with all this agberos playing instruments for money. Many of them are just in church for music. They'd gladly walk out of that church if they were suspended from playing or if another organisation calls them with higher salary. Church business na truly good business. Bunch of unspiritual people dem.It depends on the kind of instrument you handle. As a woden gong instrumentalist I don't think you can make it by church paying you. Busy body |
teetee123: @dpee4real. I submitted my documents at Abuja for study permit on Nov. 13th and was given two phone nos to be calling to know the status but the nos have not been going for the past 2 weeks. 094624200, 094624201.You are talking of three weeks. I submitted 2months ago up till no now call. The numbers have not connected for the past two weeks. And trhe last time I got them they said it is still not fully processed. It is their turn to call me. I don't have time for them.collection of passport is on thursdays and fridays. |
I just enrolled to study music in SA paying 4.5M naira for my studies and when I come back you tell me to go and server for free in the church. I will be awake at night playing my classical pieces but when you need the services in the church you tell me is free. If actually you have been a professional musician you will appreciate that it Is not all about playing because you have underwent series of trainingf for yourself. My wish is to study lecture in music and do it free for the church but that is a personal wish. For example I bought my saxophone. I learnt it myself. I play it on a professional level and you exepect me to come and waste my energy for nothing. Unless I wish to do so but it the churchs obligation to pay for that service. I play pipe organ for a church and they pay me heavily. The one I want to do free I doest it. The priests are paid for theri services what is then the difference. So please if you have not been a prfessional instumentalist it is not necessary you comment. Thanks for understanding. |
collinsfbi: I have friends doing masters in UNISA, who were admitted early 2011 without SAQA but did their permit with their SAQA. I don't dispute the fact that your school may not require SAQA for admission but from what i know now SAQA is required for SA study permit. However, the outcome of your permit will determine if SAQA is required of your course or not. What is the difference between HESA and SAQA. This whole is compounded. They have my documents for the past 2month every day they say it is still not fully processed. Do I withdraw the application? |
collinsfbi: There is nothing like mature age when it comes to permit, even WAEC/NECO result needs SAQA evaluation for study permit, i don't know the requirement for your course of study but SAQA is very important to study permit in SA except if there is special exemption for that particular course granted by SAQA, without that, no permit brother. You should have confirmed this before turning in your application.part of requirement for music undergraduate studies is audition by the school in which i went to SA for. If it is the requirement for admission in SA can the school admit you without the SAQA evaluation? |
Msauza: . North West University differs considerably from UNISA. The NWU presents majority of their Degree programmes on a full time bases, while UNISA specialises in distance education. It is only short learning courses that are offered on part-time in NWU and has three campuses, namely, Mafikeng, Vanderbylpark and Potchefstroom campus. Unfortunately, you did not give much finer details as to why would they delay your application, because there is no reason if you presented them with your passport and admission letter from NWU, your Nigerian school results that had been evaluated and converted to SA point/score system by SAQA and your certificate of clean bill of health.I didn't include the SAQA certificate. I went for audtition in the school before the admission was offered because it is their requirement for people that studies music as undergraduate. I think you suppose to be talking of HESA and not SAQA because it is not a masters degree course. I went to HESA office in SA and they gave me exemption due to mature age so I dont really know what they are verifying inside there. I gave them the medical certificate as well and the insurance. What again should I do. |
collinsfbi: I realise it usually take longer time to process South African Study Permit from Nigeria but i don't really know why, compare to short processing time if applied within South Africa. However, i think you should be patient, you will be contacted soon. Meanwhile, is the 10% tuition deposit the requirement from your school? Apart from the medical issurance, did you include your x-ray medical report? The school I applied to is North west university. They have not actually required me to pay the tuition but I insisted to pay the minimum amout for registration which they approved. I went with the x ray they said they do not need that. They collected everything but left that one. I called them they still said it is not fully processed. I dont know what they are up to. Could there be there is any other thing required I thought they would have told me by the time I called. If I had known I would still be able to apply for permit from their country I would have gone there with visitors permit. I went to south africa last year and I returned at the right time because I never knew I would be able to process that from their country. Now they are having my passport what will I do. |
For inquiries for your study permit requiremtn you can call deleted. I dont want anyother person to pass through what I went through that is why I am giving out this number. Strictly on the issue of study permit. Thanks |
@folalekan thanks so much. Can you tell me where to go get the medical insurance, the yellow fever cert and and the cost for each? I also need to know the permit fee itself. Thanks for your anticipated responses. Ingwe medical insurance company is closed. You can use comp care or momentum insurance. I passed through this experience last month. You can call me. I promise to help you on that issue of insurance. You are not paying any thime to me. The repartration fee is 110k then the visa fee is 8000. Then the bank charges follow. Make sure you have 130k before you go to pay for those ones. It is going to help you.you will have small change at the end of the day |
