There was confusion at Oke Initea area of Osogbo, Osun
State, today Tuesday 18th August, following the discovery of
the remains of a 27-years-old man, Adekola Busari, who had
hung himself. According to reports, Busari, was indebted to a micro finance bank, but his wife had assisted in repaying the loan, remaining just N18,000 to balance up. Although things were said to be down for the man, but it was not certain if the debt was the reason he had killed himself. The deceased’s wife, Bidemi, was said to have discovered the corpse of her husband dangling inside their sitting room when she went to urinate early in the morning. Amidst wailing, the widow said her husband did not show any sign that he would kill himself. She said: ” My husband went out to watch a football match last night and stayed till 11pm and when he came back home, he ate, we chatted, prayed together and he went to bed without any sign. Though he is financially indebted, I have been paying the debt for the loan he took from a micro finance bank. So I don’t understand why he hung himself. “I woke up to urinate and discovered that the cloth I used to cover our two year-old child was missing, only to find out that it was the cloth my husband used to hang himself.” The Divisional Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in Olorunda Local Government Area, Mr. Babatunde Ojeniyi, confirmed the incident to PUNCH on the telephone. He said: ” We have informed the Water and Environmental Department at the Local Government Area, whose responsibility it is to remove the corpse. But we were told that certain traditional rites would have to be performed before the body would be lowered.” www.lailasblog.com/2015/08/27-year-old-man-hangs-himself-over.html?m=1 |

At a time many people are becoming increasingly
uncomfortable with the rate of sexual immorality among the
youth, a 19-year old student of the School of Nursing, Lagos
University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, Mosunmola Oladipo,
has won the Miss Virginity 2015 beauty pageant.
Oladipo beat 51 other self-confessed virgins at the event
held on Saturday in Surulere, Lagos. According to her, there was a lot of pressure from many people outside, but she was able to preserve her flower based on her conviction. Oladipo said: “It’s all about self-determination. It is about knowing what you want to achieve. It is a thing of honour to be a virgin.” Although the originator of the competition, Princess Adunni Adediran, noted that the contestants were not medically or physically tested, she said it was organised to honour and appreciate virgins. According to her, the judges considered the candidates’ appearances and I.Q. Adediran said: “I was thinking of our female children who men repeatedly use to satisfy their carnal desires before they are finally dumped. These girls will have undergone several abortions till their wombs are damaged. And when they marry they cannot have children. Some girls even run mad.” She added that some of the 52 contestants were mobilised by a Muslim cleric, Alfa Sharafadeen Bulala. “When he saw our handbills, he was excited at the prospects and invited virgins in his mosque and the surrounding neighbourhood. When we started, we had a veteran gynaecologist helping us – Dr. Naimdeem Adeikemade. But some parents were grumbling that we were violating the privacy of their children by inspecting their privates. The ministry of health also wrote me a letter in 2009 on the same issue. This time around, God forbid that anyone who is not a virgin would come here to contest. I’m not testing them but they don’t know,” she said. Bulala and a church leader, Dr. Adedayo Oyebamjo, as well as Associate Prof. of Guidance and Counselling, Dr. Oluyemisi Pitan, addressed the girls on health, social and other related issues. www.lailasblog.com/2015/08/nursing-student-emerges-miss-virgin.html?m=1 Cc:Lalasticlala Ishilove

Kylie Jenner is getting tons of offers to star in adult films but we’ve learned that her big sis, Kim Kardashian doesn’t believe she should do one! But you won’t believe why Kim doesn’t want her to follow in her footsteps. Kylie Jenner, 18, has been offered $10 million to star in a sex tape with her boyfriend Tyga but Kim Kardashian, 34, is telling her no way! The reality star rose to fame in her own sex tape with her ex-boyfriend Ray J but she doesn’t want her baby sis to do it too. Why? Because she is worried of Kylie being sexually exploited? Nope! “Kim’s so scared of Kylie catapulting into international fame that she’s begging her NOT to do a sex tape,” our insider tells us. “Kim doesn’t want to be outdone. Kim’s told Kylie she’s ‘already famous enough’ and that ‘doing a sex tape will ruin your soul.’ Kim even went so far as to tell Kylie, ‘If I could go back in time I wouldn’t have made a sex tape with Ray J.’ Kim’s worried that if Kylie were to make a sex tape with Tyga, not only would it earn more money than her tape with Ray J, it would catapult Kylie into a different stratosphere of fame and Kim doesn’t want that. She doesn’t want Kylie to be the biggest thing on earth right now.” Wow! It’s great Kim is looking out for Kylie but sort of nuts that the most famous woman in the world is worried about her baby sister eclipsing her fame. We told you that Vivid founder, Steven Hirsch [the same company that released Kim and Ray J’s tape] released a public statement offering Kylie and Tyga $10 million to star in their own: “Kim’s sex tape helped launch her career and would be nothing but positive for you.” Another company called BangYouLater offered $1.8 million: “This event will make you even more famous than either Kim K or Paris Hilton. [Tyga’s] scene must be at least 22 minutes in length.” We aren’t too sure that Kylie would ever even agree to do something like this but what do you think? hollywoodlife.com/2015/08/17/kim-kardashian-begging-kylie-jenner-not-to-do-a-sex-tape-doesnt-want-the-competition/

We can’t immediately verify why UI would make such claims yet link the claim to an infographic that suggest otherwise. Webometrics, a ranking of all the Universities of the World, has refuted claims by University of Ibadan, UI, that it has been ranked Number One higher institution in Nigeria by the Site. As at 7:30pm Nigerian Time, University of Ibadan on one of the Feature Slides on its Official Website – www.ui.edu.ng – still claims UI is the ‘Best University in Nigeria’ in the Year 2015. Their claim has this rider: “Ranking According to Webometrics. To prove the genuineness of their ranking, UI hyperlinked Image on the slide. Once you click on the image, it takes you to the official site of Webometrics – http://webometrics.info/en To satisfy our curiosity, we clicked on the link. At Webometrics, what we found was way dissimilar. Obafemi Awolowo University is ranked Number 1. University of Lagos, 2; and University of Ilorin is at number 3. University of Ibadan I is at a distant 64. We can’t immediately verify why UI would make such claims yet link the claim to an infographic that suggest otherwise. But we understand from Webometrics that “After publication on the July 31st we received evidence of bad practices by a few universities, so a corrected edition was needed.” Webometrics says it is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions since 2004. Every six months an independent, objective, free, open scientific exercise is performed by the Cybermetrics Lab in Spain to provide reliable, multidimensional, updated and useful information about the performance of universities from all over the world based on their web presence and impact. www.greatnigeriastudents.com/ui-claims-its-been-ranked-no-1-rankings-say-ui-is-64th/ |
