PRESS BRIEFING BY THE OYO STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, ABIODUN ODUDE, HELD AT THE COMMAND HEADQUARTERS, ELEYELE, IBADAN ON 29TH DECEMBER 2017.


(1)HIJACKED FUEL-LADEN TRUCK RECOVERED, SUSPECT ARRESTED: A soldier, Corporal Akapan Edet aged 28 serving at the 81 Battalion, Mokola, Ibadan has been arrested along with four others for hijacking a fuel Laden truck along Akobo, Iwo road on 17 /11/ 20117. The criminal gang, according to investigation, is responsible for waylaying and subsequent hijacking of trucks along expressway. The gang led by the soldier who was clad in full military camouflage on the aforementioned date at about 2130hrs, hijacked a 40,000 litre truck with Reg.No ABJ 132 XA and abducted the driver and his motor boy to Omi-Adio area after robbing them of their valuables. The truck was thereafter driven to Ilese/Akure road by some of the gang members. The victims raised alarm which brought about the arrest of the suspects by Special Anti robbery squad of the command. Three other members of the gang were later arrested in their criminal hideouts in ibadan. The suspect confessed to the said crime. Suspects (1) Cpl Akpan Edet (2) Onyeka Joshua (3) Onhonwen Raphael (4) Ugo Monday (5) Ifeanyi Emmanuel.

(2) EMPLOYEE WHO ABSCONDED WITH MASTER's TRUCKS NABBED, EXHIBIT RECOVERED:

The special Anti-Robbery Squad of the command recently arrested an employee of George Investment Company, Ibadan who stole six Sino trucks, and a Toyota Camry car belonging to the company that were entrusted in his care. Upon petition by the CEO of the company, Wang Shou Bo,a Chinese. On the 27/11/ 2017 the command SARS carried out a discreet investigation which led to the arrest of the suspects in Edo and Abuja. The six trucks were sold to a criminal receiver in Kaduna at rate of 20million while a Toyota Camry was given to a yet to be identify Pastor in Abuja. The six trucks and two cars was recovered back and receiver arrested as well. The suspects (1) Olaronbi Saheed (2) Abdulkareem Yusuf (3) Ibrahim Babankulu the criminal receiver.

(3). ARMED ROBBERY GANG SMASHED:

Three members of armed robbery gang arrested by the Command. The suspect who until their arrest belongedto a dare-devil armed robbery gang responsible for the spate of robbery in some parts of Ogun and Oyo States. The gang have successfully attacked innocent residents of Sanda community,Molete and robbed them of valuable property. A member of the gang was however arrested by Felele Division on 7/12/ 2017 while fleeing from scene and recovered cut to size single barrel gun. Further investigation by SARS led to the arrest of other two members with another cut to size gun. Suspects (1) Olorunkemi Abiodun (2) Abimbola Segun (3) Taye Shittu. Exhibit recovered two cut to size barrel guns, two laptops, Eight mobile phones, a mask and criminal charms.

(4) SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY :

On 19/12/2017 at about 1630hrs, one Yusuf Ishola aged 30 was arrested with two hundred and ninety four pieces of counterfeit 1000 naira note. The suspect and one other at large often fraudulently used the fake naira to purchase expensive items from unsuspecting individuals and notable shops in Ogbomoso and other parts of the state.

A terrible accident that happened in Tiortyu,Benue state has claimed the lives of 6 people.According to report,a Rav 4 with registration number Eky 992 Cy collided with another car with registration number Mkd 608 zn.The  car was heading towards Gboko while the Rav 4 was heading towards Makurdi.

Some id cards and valuables have were recovered from the accident scene. Check the photos below and assist in getting across to the victims families.

Former First Lady, Dr. Dame patience Jonathan, the Se Nyingibo 1 of Kirikese was on a solidarity visit to the Amayanabo of Okochiri with some traditional and political leaders which include Dr Abiye Sekibo, Rt.Hon Evans Bipi, Rt.Hon Adams Dabotorudima, Hon Bright Gogo, Hon Deinma Iyalla.The Se Nyingibo 1 of Kirikese Her Excellency Dame Patience Jonathan DSSRS JP congratulated HRM KING ATEKE TOM JP Amayanabo of Okochiri for his recognition and elevation as second class king by the Governor of Rivers State.

In her address the Se Nyingibo called for peace and unity in Okrika.

THE FAMILY OF OJIMAH OHIEMI MONDAY CRIES OUT FOR JUSTICE

Ojimah Ohiemi Monday a holder of HND in Civil Engineering from the Federal polytechnic Idah, was gruesomely murdered by a mobile police officer named James Akpan.The ugly incident happened along Lokoja Ajeokuta road while the deceased was on his way travelling to his own town Idah.

As narrated by Sylvester Ajodo,due to the deplorable nature of the federal high ways, road users decided to apply the company road as a shortcut to the Niger bridge. They were on the same route when officer James Akpan asked them to not pass through.He openly told them to leave before he vent his furious anger on them.
Immediately they obliged and retreated back to their vehicle. Astonishingly, the next thing they had was a thunderous sound of a gun shot,  which rattled the young man severally, like a hard criminal. The life of this young man was cut short and his dreams was shattered away by a police man that is being paid to protect the life and properties of the citizens.

EFCC has filed a 4-count charge against the MD of Innoson Motors Dr Innocent Chukwuma.Disclosing this on Twitter,EFCC wrote...

'Alert: The EFCC has filed a 4-count charge against Innoson Nigeria Limited, Dr Innocent Chukwuma and Charles Chukwuma at a Lagos State High Court. They are accused of conspiracy to obtain property by false pretence'.

It should be recalled that EFCC arrested Dr Innocent Chukwuma few days ago and later released.His arrest was alleged to be linked to a misunderstanding he has with GTB.

Tambo was attacked by Fulani herdsmen today. Two injured victims have been brought to the hospital at Yola.Reports say that there are more victims. The problem started when some Fulani herders sent their cows into a farm.When the owner of the farm asked them why they brought cow into his farm, they replied him with a gun shot and injured him.They also shot his cousin.

Her name is Ancestress Sinatu Aduke Sanni a.k.a De Iya Olumo. She is 133yrs Old and she is still a Slay Queen. She has spent all her life living ontop of the Legendary Ancestral Olumo Rock. Something I wish I've done with my own life.

I spent more than an hour with this ancestral maiden romancing words with her.She gave me so much knowledge that I stopped learning and started remembering. She is the only one existing in this time that has the power to lay hands on a Deity's head in prayers. What a moment! Ase Iya Olumo'

I PRESENT TO YOU SOME PICTURES FROM KATSINA ALA INVASION

The elected  Executive Chairman of KATSINA -Ala Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Virgina Mbazan Kpindi, yesterday Dec 18, 2017 led a high-powered delegation from the Benue state Government for on spot assessment of the level of destruction.

An eye witness account indicated that the burning  down  of homes  at Low cost, a surburb of Katsina -Ala metropolis was allegedelly perpetrated by miscreants wearing military uniform suspected  to be that of the  Nigerian army.

Over 50 houses, a vehicle, motorcycle  and other valuables were destroyed in the operation believed to have lasted for several hours.

The suspected soldiers had early hours of Monday, invaded Low cost area, close to the scene, along Katsina Ala -Takum Road where a serving military personnel was Killed by armed robbers on Sunday morning.
