PhonesiPad 5 Specs, Features And Release Date. by stevebent(op):
iPad 5 release date is a hot topic. The iPad 5 is the next addition to Apple’s iPad family. The device is expected to hit the stores by the end third quarter or at the beginning of the fourth quarter. In fact, the iPad 5 is going to be the only iPad to be rolled out in 2013. The iPad Mini 2 release will not happen this year. We may see it arrive at the beginning of 2014.
Since the iPad 5 release date is rumored to arrive in September this year, US retailer Best Buy is already planning to sell a lot of iPad 5 tablets. Customers will be allowed to swap their older iPad 2 tablets and iPad 3 tablets to get the iPad 4 or the forthcoming iPad 5 or even avail cash credits.
iPad 5 release date
The iPad 5 will come with GF2 touchscreen display technology. The new display technology will make the device thinner and lighter as compared to its predecessor models. The display size is going to be 9.7inch and is going to sport a display resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels with a pixel density of 264ppi. It is believed that Apple will approach Samsung to build low-power LCD screens for the iPad 5 tablet. This means Apple will be severing ties with AU Optronics from Taiwan because of Retina Display production issue the company is facing for iPad Mini 2.
The GF2 technology replaces the older G/G touchscreen technology that was supplied with older iPad models. The GF2 technology was first brought to iPad Mini in 2012 and now it will brought to the large sized iPad 5 this year. We have got a leaked image of the iPad 5 along with the new display technology.
Apple will not be interested in launching the iPad Mini 2 this year because the production status of the device is quite slow which indicates that shipments will happen in December or later. Also, the iPad Mini 2 will not be cheaper than first gen iPad Mini which means it will fail to attract customers. Hence, it will be most suitable for Apple to release the product in the next year..

PhonesAre You Disappointed With The Moto X Price? Then Read This by stevebent(op): 7:31pm On Aug 02, 2013
Hello, all tech enthusiasts. Days upon days, months upon months, we have waited for the Moto X- the most speculated smartphone yet only to be dissappointed by its price. We thought Google was a friend of the Mass, but alas, they are not. [update] Reports reaching me now says a cheap version of the moto x is coming soon..but is that what we want? I thought Google was producing high end smartphones for cheap prices directed at the low income earners. It seems Google has joined the iPhone class.
Anyways, the deed has been done. It is now left for us to make our choices..here, I have compiled Top alternatives to the Moto X.
1. Google Nexus 4: Maybe Google shouldn't have spoilt us with this device. A high end phone with a cheap price. This phone competes with the likes of HTC One, S4, and iPhone. In fact, it was ranked 4th by Techradar's world best smartphones. At only $299, you're not making a wrong choice and you're never gonna be left out of future updates..to the brother that wants to buy the xperia Zr, I suggest you consider this phone or the Xperia SP.
2. Xperia SP: The Mid-range contender, the only smartphone competing with the Nexus 4(nexus 4 is not a midrange device, it is just a cheap offerring from Google). At only $380, I'd surely go for the Nexus 4..
3. Nexus 5: Reports suggests that the release date of this device is being delayed because Google wants Motorola to produce it. But don't expect it to be a cheap phone, it is expected to pack "S4 beating Specs", In fact, some tech blogs call it "The Beast". I reckon this would be priced $600..Due to the fact that Google is planning on feeding the masses with a Mini version of the Moto X at a cheap price of course..
Keep your fingers crossed, We'll keep you informed..

PhonesGoogle Moto X Discussion Thread. by stevebent(op):
Google Moto X
After Google Acquisition of Motorola for a mouth watering sum of money, a lot of analyts have been critizing Google's move. The New Moto X is Motorola first flagship phone after been acquired by Google.. At a press conference hosted by AllThingsD, Motorola Mobility CEO Dennis Woodside spoke about the upcoming Moto X. He confirmed features like the phone would be contextually aware, meaning that using it's sensors, the smartphone would be able tell when you are driving in a car, or tell when you are pulling up your phone to take a picture and assist you by opening up the camera application. Although Woodside did not explain exactly how that worked he did tease that the Moto X was in his pocket during the interview but refused to show it off. Woodside noted that there would be a focus on battery life by using two separate processors to help improve battery life. He added that the upcoming Moto X will be designed and built in a factory outside of Fort Worth, Texas that will employ 2,000 people.

Moto X Specs

A set of leaked specifications for Motorola's Moto X handset show the smartphone will be running a new build of Android at its expected launch on August 1 at an event in New York.
According to a spec sheet obtained by Android Police the new handset will have a relatively modest 4.7-inch display running in a distinctly unretinal resolution of 720-by-1184 pixels. It'll be powered by a dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro MSM8960DT 1.7GHz CPU and Adreno 320 graphics processor, run 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage space, but there's no removable media-card slot in the shell of the handset.
For Wi-Fi, the handset supports 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, and has near field communications built in. Most importantly, it could run thelatest build of Android, version 4.3, which Google is widely expected to show off to the press at a special event this Wednesday. Leaked photos of the new mobe show the device running version 4.2.2, however.
The handset itself should be launched on August 1, seeing as how Motorola has sent out invitations to an event in New York. Some of the generically good-looking models pictured areholding a handset that looks suspiciously like the handset shown in the leaked specifications.

PhonesCheap Iphone/iphone Light Pictures Leak.. by stevebent(op): 5:16pm On Jul 21, 2013
Apple has finally joined the mid-range smartphones war, in which The company is expected to launch a cheaper version of the iPhone called The iPhone Light. Basically, Apple has been known for their stylish and premium build smartphones which are high ends devices i.e very costly. Many would be consumers had been turned off mainly because of this reason of high prices of Apple’s smartphone..Hence, Apple sees the need to target the mid-range market with the iPhone Light.
We have gathered everything we know of the iPhone Light.
iPhone Light Specs
The iPhone Light has leaked as a render diagram by a case manufacturer. Apparently, the manufacturer provided all accessory manufacturers with the dimensions of the iPhone Light and iPhone 5S so they can make perfectly-fitting cases, speakers and other devices for the cheaper iPhone.
The iPhone 5S will reportedly measure 124.44 x 59.18 x 8.50mm and will be a more rounded design than the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S.
The power/sleep button will be pill-shaped and there’s a Lightning connector and 3.5mm headphone jack, too. Apple’s iPhone Light will purportedly use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon SoC. The report said, “two 28nm-based classes of Snapdragon, specifically the 400 and 800 series, offer on-board communications including a cellular modem, and Bluetooth.” Implementing an all-in-one platform could certainly help Apple cut down on costs, assuming it’s actually working ona iPhone Light (which would more than likely run on 3G). The iPhone Light would be made of polycarbonate plastic. It is expected to come in a variant of colors much like the iPods.
iPhone Light Price
Bloomberg has also weighed in on the rumors claiming the price point of the smaller iPhone would be $200, off contract. The goal would be to give potential customers an alternative at the low end of the smartphone market. The expected price rangeis between $300-$400.

PhonesHTC One Mini Launched by stevebent(op):
After a long stream of rumors, leaks and half-announcements, HTChas finally announced the HTC One Mini, a smaller version of the company's flagship Android device, the H TC One.
As expected, the HTC OneMini features a 720p, 4.3-inch screen, a dual-core, 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB of storage, and a HTC UltraPixel camera.
LTE support is also on board, and the battery is a 1800mAh one, by HTC's measures offering up to 20.7 hours of talk time on GSM (13.3 hours for WCDMA). Overall, the HTC One Mini — also encased in an aluminum enclosure — is undoubtedly a less powerful device compared with its big brother, the HTC One, which has twice as much RAM, more storage (32/64GB) and a 1.7GHz, quad-core CPU. Still, it might be a good fit for anyone who finds the HTC One too bulky.
The HTC One mini will be coming to "select markets" from August, with a global rollout scheduled for September.

PhonesNEXUS 5- Specs, Features And Price. by stevebent(op): 10:19pm On Jul 13, 2013
Google Nexus 5 Specs
As is always the case: nothing is yet officially known about the Nexus 5. Although that hasn’t stopped an entire myriad of information leaking online about the device, what it will be like, and the spec it’s likely to pack. We’ve been sifting through all of them for the past couple of weeks. Below are the fruits of our labour – everything currentlyknown about theNexus 5.
Nexus 5– Hardware
Google has never been one to shy away from offering the besthardware on the market. Its HTC-produced Nexus One was among the first smartphones to offer a 1GHz processor, and it hasconsistently provided leading screen technology on its devices too, ensuring they stay current for longer and the Nexus 5 looks to continue that trend.
According to sources the Nexus 5will feature Qualcomm’s speed-demon Snapdragon 800 CPU, a quad-core processor which will be clocked to 2.3GHz giving the device all the power it could possibly need…and more.
The device will also make use of the company’s Adreno 330 GPU which boasts almost 50% more performance that its predecessorthe Adreno 320.
How much RAM the device will host has been subject to debate amongst tipsters, with some quoting 3GB as the magic number, while others claim that 2GB will remain.
On-board storage options could be more expansive with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB options. It is also believed that Google will continue with its tradition of notincluding microSD-support. Although the addition of 32GB and 64GB variants is definitely welcome.
The Nexus 5’s features look to besuitably impressive too.
The device is rumoured to feature a 16-megapixel Omni-Vision primary camera tweaked by photographic wunderkinds Nikon. Said camera is expected to record 4K video at 30 FPS, or 1080P video at 60FPS, and the front-facing camera will be bumped up to a 2.1-megapixeloffering too.
If the Nexus 5 packs in Android Key Lime Pie, it will feature a GPS-assisted camera which is saidto be shipping with the newest iteration of Android. Thisnew software tweak will mean the camera will automatically adjust the settings according to where you are when you take the shot, including the light sensor, temperature sensor and accelerometer. You’ll still have all the manual setting to over-write these auto settings too, making itone of the most advanced cameras around.
Another key improvement is saidto be the battery, which will go from a fairly middling 2100mAH to a monster 3300mAh and, of course, the whole caboodle will be driven by the next iteration of Google’s Android OS: Key Lime Pie.
Another more recent rumour says the Nexus 5 will share its spec with LG’s Optimus G Pro. This will mean a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chip with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU. This would mean a 13-megapixel camera, still said to possibly be made by Nikon, but some rumours say it’ll feature a kind of’triple sensor’, which could be aFoveon X3.
The battery is pegged at 3,140mAh and if it does follow the Optimus G Pro’s spec closely that would mean 32GB of storage and microSD capability for cards up to 64GB. Could this also be the first Nexus with 4G support? I think that’s quite likelywith all the changes in the market place.
Consistently, the Nexus 5 is said to have a 5-inch 1080p display, which would be smaller than the Optimus G Pro’s 5.5-inch LCD and consequently should be a bit sharper too.
Nexus 5 Expected Price
As we all know that Google is generous, the price of the Nexus 5 is expected to be $350-$400..

Rumours initially broke of a cheaper HTC One it was under thecodename ‘HTC M4’, which lined up with the fact that the HTC Oneitself had gone under the name HTC M7 until closer to its release.
More recently though, we’ve actually seen solid evidence that the device will be called theHTC One Mini. The most compelling bitof info on this so far came in the form of a ‘User Agent Profile’ from HTC’s official site, which detailed theHTC One Mininame. Italso sits with rumours about the HTC T6 ‘phablet’ which could be called the HTC One Max.
HTC One Mini Design
Word has it that the HTC One Miniwould very closely resemble the HTC One in design and build, the main idea being that it would offer the same premium feel and aesthetic in a more compact and more affordable package.
Leaked product renders and hands-on photos have since cemented this idea as being more-or-less true. One thing worth noting though is that earlier leaks have largely shown the black model and as with the HTC One it appears both the metalbody work and plastic trim are the same colour, making it difficult to discern any notable changes to the design.
More recent leaks have shown the ‘white’ version, which like the HTC One is largely a silvery bare-metal with white plastic trim..
