RomanceMaking Your Valentine Celebration Cheaper Or Cost Free, Yet Memorable-steve Obia by stevedeey(op): 1:36pm On Feb 10, 2017
Whenever a celebration such as Valentine, Christmas, New Year etc draws nearer, there is this conspicuous avalanche of jokes and talks about how men pick up quarrels and fights with their spouses so they don’t have to spend. These may be seen as jokes but in reality, the situation of things in the country now has not only affected couples (married and about to marry) but has also lead to a lot of breakups. Many relationships today are boiling because a lot of people find it difficult to adjust their appetite on ostentatious desires. We also have many extended family members picking up fights here and there because cash flow has drastically reduced. Our purchasing power has been cut by more than half; so that the money in our hands appears so little compared to the huge responsibilities and demands we are surrounded with. In times like this, it is important to note that understanding becomes our best friend. We can still have our memorable celebrations at a very low cost. This is how it works.

Think of What is Needed:
It is important to note that the amount spent on a date does not really matter but how thoughtful whoever spend has been. Some people, especially ladies even frown at spending too much on frivolities without actually touching their core need. To this, some of them believe you’re just trying to show off; they’ll still go home sad even with all your expenses. Therefore, think about what is needed in the life of your spouse; it could just be attention; it could be presence, it could be just ordinary flattering which a nice poem can do. You can do all of this with a bottle of coke while spending the whole day together. If truly there’s true love between you, it might jolly well be more appreciated than borrowing money to have an expensive date and getting angry later while struggling to pay.

Do Something Unusual:
Doing ordinary things in an extra ordinary manner goes a long way in creating happiness. There are many things you can decide to do the other way round. Ladies, think of a way to do something different on your Valentine’s Day. Think of what you’ve never done before or something you’ve not done in a long while. Men think of a way of doing something out of ordinary. You may decide to say “Sweetheart, just relax I’ll do all the cooking and all the chores.” Allow your spouse to sit and watch television while you prepare the dinner. This might be sweeter than an expensive gift or an expensive outing.

Play Two in One:
You can decide to do a lot of things together if you have not been doing so in a long while. Sing your favorite songs, and dance to its melody. This is very nice especially when the lyrics are romantic. Walking out together could be really sweet if it’s not common to you. Other acts you can do together are: going to the gym together, riding bicycle together, going to the market together, cooking the dinner together etc. you don’t need ATM to do all that and you might emerge happier than those who went on expensive dates.

Play Adam and Eve
Turn your house to the Garden of Eden and play Adam and Eve. Send the kids (if you have) away to a family member’s house. Don’t wear any cloth at all, stay indoors all day; keep your television on and watch movies; play indoor games, like cards, ludo, chess, scrabble, eat and drink whatever you have to spice up the day, shower together etc. You would have celebrated your Val at no cost. Thank me the next day. Meanwhile, remember nine months.

Visit a Memorable Place:
Is there any place that has tied both of you to the past? May be where you proposed; where you met, where you usually visit in the days of old. It might just be worth seeing again. After many years have come and gone, a lot would have happened in such places. If I were you, I’d love to see them again. Such nostalgic events create everlasting memories that are worth rejuvenating. Visit your old hood or such places of memory. It’s not by money! You’ll be happy at the end of the day.

Host a Couple Love Feast
Now this is not going to come free but it would definitely be far cheaper than going out to spend the scarce Naira in this recession. You can decide to gather three or four friends and host a love feast. Each of your friends comes along with a particular dish they’ve prepared at home. What you take to such parties would be far cheaper than what you alone would consume if you went out. It is always cheaper when you make your meals yourself. The coming together of different couples to celebrate is a way of making your day memorable.

Whichever way you want to celebrate your Val, the important thing here is that cash shouldn’t be an excuse. Happiness doesn’t cost much. Wherever money is the determining factor for happiness, true love does not exist. We must understand that commitment does not only lie in material things but also in our actions which emanate from our genuine desire to make others happy.

Live to love and love to live.

CareerWhy Do People Fail Where Others Succeed? –steve Obiakor by stevedeey(op):
Although everyone desires to be successful, it is important to accept the fact that not everyone will find success. What is of great importance to me is letting you know that many who do not find success are those who sit and wait for success to find them. Nobody is actually created to be unsuccessful; it is man’s inability to identify the tenets of success and applying them or applying the wrong tenets that lead to a lot of failure stories. Failure in itself is an integral part of success if properly managed. In a nutshell, everybody is a failure; but, those who manage failure well become successful.

What is Success?

Success means different things to different people. This makes it difficult to give a direct clear-cut definition of success. What one person considers success may have nothing to do with another person’s view of success. This is as a result of differences in dreams and aspirations which each person feels the measurement of their success should be based on. For instance, whereas some people consider being happily married as their own success; others are not interested in marriage. Whereas some want to be famous others just want to be rich.

Apart from meaning different things to different people, people view success from different angles. People are successful in the eyes of those who see them as being so. When someone has achieved what you have not achieved, the tendency for you to believe he is successful is high (though the person might be seriously broke); there are others who will not consider him successful. Therefore, success is in the mind just as beauty is in the eye.

Nevertheless, there is always a common denominator when people discuss success. That is having some degree of financial freedom, being satisfied with oneself and having some degree of respect and recognition from others. These are common factors that many consider to say that someone is successful. These factors may come from your education, career success, marriage or by any circumstance. Whichever one it is, many have also had the opportunity of education, career, marriage etc; yet they have neither financial freedom nor self satisfaction nor positive recognition from others. They consider themselves failure and others see their failure too. But, why do people fail where others have succeeded? Let us consider how successful people do things differently:

They Know How Success is Achieved:
Some people wonder why good people suffer poverty while the bad ones live in affluence. The armed robbers, the drug peddlers, the kidnappers, fraudsters etc all live a life of affluence whereas the virtuous ones suffer in penury. The reason is that those who do evil put more effort in what they do than those who don’t. A robbery attack, kidnapping or drug trafficking requires serious planning and meticulous execution. They plan it with all their life and all their soul putting all the effort they ever have in life. They stay up at night trying to study every aspect of their evil act to ensure success; they learn all they need to know about their evil acts; they get the finest of materials and the finest of friends to execute their plans in order to ensure success; they are consistent, articulate and accurate. When they strike, there is no part two! These are evil doers! But, has anybody tried such effort in doing good things and still fails to succeed? Those who succeed are those who put in so much in what they’re doing. When you understand that you live in a society where a whole lot is required to achieve little, you must up your acts and get down to serious business. Success is not achieved by attending crusades, vigils or fasting and praying alone. God does not bless emptiness; something must be put on ground to be blessed by God. Success is earned; it’s not innate. Some people erroneously believe that while some are born to succeed, others are born to fail. Success is largely dependent on how far you’re able to go with hard work, consistency, learning and growth, steadfastness and self discipline.

They Recognize Every Opportunity:
Those who succeed do not allow any opportunity to pass them by. They do not see the failure, but the success; they do not see the challenges, but the result; they do not see what to earn, but what to learn. Those who fail to take advantage of opportunities do not really learn much, they might not grow and they might end up losing out in the scheme of things when the time comes. Those who succeed try to study everything that comes, gives it a try and moves on if it fails. Some of these opportunities do not fail; they rather lead to another opportunity. The little offer you refuse now may be a pointer to the bigger one later. The job offer you refused because its pay is meager might be the one that will give you the requisite experience required for the bigger one. Many who are termed successful in their various careers today did not start with executive positions. Many started as clerks, grew to administrative officers and then to executives and chief executives. Those who succeed believe that opportunities come once in a life time and so they make hare while the sun shines. Do not waste time believing that you’ll just wake up one morning and become successful. Get your hand on something and get very committed with it.

They See A Channel of Growth in the Opportunity:
Those who succeed see their job as the beginning of good things to come. They develop a channel of career growth in it and ignite their success path. They learn all the possible skills required in the job at their own level and at higher levels. They acquire all the requisite qualifications required to move higher from their current position. Artisans who succeed are those who know that there is something different between being a carpenter and a furniture maker. They know that there is something better and more acceptable than what they are doing. They explore the higher opportunities and move from the status quo. A lot of artisans today take to okada and keke riding, danfo driving or being a bus conductor after acquiring very important skills. These are the ones who lack the ability to develop the opportunity they have.

They Appreciate Failure:
As I said earlier in this article, failure is an integral part of success. Failure is an opportunity to understand that something better exists. Failure destroys status quo mentality; it kills complacency. It gears you up towards exploring further. Those who succeed see failure as the oil to lubricate the wheels of growth. They do not glorify failure; they learn from it. They do not remain failures; they see a new opportunity in it. Those who see failure as a reason not to go on are never successful.

They are Consistent and Patient:
Success is not magic; there’s no short cut to it. It is a result of constant practice; it takes time; one needs to be well-balanced in one’s endeavour in order to achieve success. Everything we do has a gestation period; a time to really allow room for growth. Genuine success does not come in one day.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk success. I know you love this article; but I want you to be part of it. There are lots and lots of reasons out there why people don’t become successful. Let’s hear yours; drop it in the comment box. Let us reason together and learn. Education is power!

RomanceRe: 10 Ways To Find A Life Partner- Steve Obiakor by stevedeey(op): 1:23pm On Feb 10, 2017

10: Say Yes to Love:

When every other thing has been put in place, ensure real love exists. If everything exists in the absence of love, nothing actually exists. Never marry out of pity or because you’re afraid of what people would say. Never marry because you’re pregnant for him or she’s pregnant for you. Never marry because you think time is against you. Marry because you have found love! True love do exist and it never dies.

This really sat well with me. Great write up op and I'll be sure to check out your blog. Thank you, I enjoyed reading this.
Thanks. I appreciate your contribution. See you on the blog.
Romance10 Ways To Find A Life Partner- Steve Obiakor by stevedeey(op): 9:30am On Jan 10, 2017
It is no longer news that finding a life partner is paramount on the minds of many who believe they are of marriageable age. There seem to be a lot of young men and women of this age out there but coming together seems an arduous task owing to the fear of getting it wrong or getting the wrong person. Many young men and women believe that finding a life partner requires no conscious effort. They believe that a husband or a wife would someday emerge from the blue sky and make all things perfect in their lives. This belief is more pronounced amongst the ladies who most times feel it’s not their responsibility to search for a life partner. As much as I agree that it’s a bit awkward for a young woman to make efforts towards a man she really has feelings for, it is important to note that the issue lies with how the effort is made and not the effort itself. A young woman may not take steps to approach a young man (for whatever reason) but she surely should be ready to receive or reject the efforts made by the male folk. Nothing should be left to chance. Making effort is healthy for both young men and young women but how the effort is made could be where the problem is. Relationship is very delicate; so much that a little effort made in good faith might be misconstrued thereby hurting one or both parties. Below are a few steps one can consider in finding a life partner.

1: Be Prepared

Being ready is one major criterion many tend to ignore when it comes to marriage. Very few people take steps towards real preparation for marriage before meeting a life partner. Preparation entails reading books, attending seminars, reading relevant articles and asking for guidance from a trusted counselor. It also involves plotting out what you want in marital life- companionship, children, financial stability, peace and harmony etc. This preparation will enable you discover on your own whether the person you met has what it takes. This is the first step to take when trying to find a life partner. Being ready does not mean being of age; it involves among other things, having achieved a certain level of growth academically, skill wise and intellectually. This will enable you make a wise decision without having to settle for anybody that appears.

2: Be Accessible:

In order to find someone or for someone to find you, you must put yourself out there. If you have no time to attend social functions organised by family and friends, if you have no time for associations, if you have no time to participate in events that will get you noticed, I wonder who would find you. Do not be a lone ranger. Be part of clubs and associations; be part of church groups or community groups at different levels. It is also very possible to find someone on the social media; you, however need to be very careful on that. ( We shall soon dwell on the pros and cons of social media hook ups).Do not wear scary looks; look cheerful and make as many positive friends as possible.

3: Be Valuable:

Nobody wants to be associated with a liability. Believe it or not, most people these days want valuable people around them. Those who constitute liabilities are seen as nuisance these days. Gone are the days when people marry for the sake of it. Today, every young man wants a woman who is valuable and can contribute to the growth of the family. No woman wants a man whose interest is in what his family can do for him. It is not a question of having a fat bank account; it’s a matter of being hardworking and productive. It is the ability to think outside the box; the ability to see opportunities and take advantage of them. Get yourself busy and be consistent and committed with what you are doing, you might just meet your partner through your job. Be physically and intellectually valuable.

4: Be Bold Enough:

A lot of young men and women are not bold enough to ask out. Many have lost opportunities of hooking up with someone they really care about because they were not bold enough to ask out. Many also gave up easily because they felt the other party did not respond as quickly as they expected. Many successful unions went through stages of growth. Expression of interest most times begin with simple greetings and exchange of pleasantries. This will guarantee some level of interest. When that interest is finally established, when it has become obvious to both parties, do not hesitate to ask out.

5: Be Responsible:

You need to be calm and gentle especially when meeting people for the first time. You can make or mare the entire relationship during your first meeting. You must carry yourself with dignity and self respect. Some lads think they can meet a lady for the first time and ask her out immediately. Common sense is enough to tell you she’ll say ‘no’ whereas she’s obviously interested in him. Leave the conversation open ended; make it very interesting, talk and leave to talk another day. Avoid talking too much! Appreciate his or her time with you and say something like “It’s really nice talking with you”.

6: Be Healthy:

I see a lot of young men and women who take time out to exercise. This is quite commendable. Cultivating good health habit through nutrition and exercise is a way of making yurself attractive. You’ll agree with me that many do not care about this and it constitutes a serious hindrance. Being healthy is not just about exercise and nutrition; it’s also about appearing clean. It’s about taking care of social diseases such as mouth odour or body odour.
I’ve heard two or three ladies talk about quitting their relationships as a result of bad breath. Who’d want to kiss a smelling mouth? If you have other health issues such as anxiety, depression, etc , do not hesitate to ask for help.

7: Make Adjustments:

The fact that you’ve set out your marital goals does not mean they are Persian laws and therefore cannot be changed. When you find someone who really cares about you and supports more than 50% of your goals; someone who probably has expanded your horizon and contributed to achieving some of your most cherished goals, you have actually found a partner.

8: Avoid Domination:

You are likely to lose that friend if you keep on operating with a domineering spirit. When you make it look like your partner should be put under control in all circumstances, you’re getting it wrong. It’s only a matter of time, you’ll go your separate ways. It’s better you quit as soon as you notice you cannot operate on equal basis than to put your partner down every now and then. This also includes believing you can change somebody’s character; it’s a near impossibility to change a person’s character.

9: Know When to Quit:

It is either you were prepared for a relationship which gives you an opportunity to quickly discern whether to go on or not, or you’re already in it (far deep into it) before coming to understand that it’s not the best for you; either way, you must know when to quit. No relationship is a do-or-die. It’s always far better to quit than to live in misery in the name of marriage. Never believe that anything can change for the better after you say “I do”. It might even get worse.

BusinessBusinesses You Can Do From Your Home With Little Or No Capital. by stevedeey(op): 5:57pm On Dec 19, 2016
Nigeria, no doubt is one of the most difficult places in the world to do business. With the World Bank ease of doing business latest ranking of 169, it is obvious that Nigerian businesses have very low chances of survival. Many people find it difficult to establish businesses due to the harsh bureaucratic process involved in registering and running a business in Nigeria. The same agency that would not certify your product would also allow importation of a lower standard of the same product from other countries. However, it is advisable to meet an acceptable standard in whatever one does as a business in order to be on the safer side.
Whilst we lament the bottle neck process in doing business, it is pertinent to state that the most disturbing part is the cost of doing business. Due to lack of infrastructure, small businesses, most times do not survive two years. 99% of all Nigerian businesses run on generator; studies have shown that five out of every ten businesses opened in a year close down while the remaining struggle to keep running until it eventually packs up someday. Many Nigerian investors and businessmen have stories to tell about how many businesses they have closed own. A restaurant owner who makes an average of ten thousand naira everyday cannot boast of having any at month end after paying rent and other utility bills. As these companies close down or relocate to other countries, many young Nigerians still live in denial waiting for that big time job to emerge.
You can actually start doing something for yourself and to avoid the huge sum spent in running your business, you can try other businesses from the comfort of your home. These are businesses you can do without paying any extra rent, no extra utility bills and at a very low logistics bills. This will surely put some cash in your pocket.
1. Herbal Supply:
The Nigerian market today is filled with all sorts of herbal drinks. These are produced with leaves and herbs. A younger brother of mine bought his first car from supplying herbs to an herbal remedy company. Most of these companies are very popular while some few are not but they all need herbs to produce their drinks. Most of the herbs are wild and therefore can be found in the forests all over Nigeria, you need not pay anybody to get them; you need not pay rent neither do you have to fuel your generator or pay for power that was never supplied. Try approaching an herbal drink production company and find out if you could supply them herbs.
2. Fresh Juice Making:
We can say almost everybody can extract juice from fruits. While that is true, it also true that not everybody has the time. There are many senior executives who would rather take your juice and pay for it rather than go through the process of doing it. Making fruit juice from your kitchen without compromising standard and basic hygiene practices and supplying same to different offices can actually create some cash. Nigeria is a large market for everything. Almost everything packaged sells well in Nigeria.
3. Bake and Package:
Have you noticed that groundnuts, cashew nuts, chin chin etc are gradually finding their ways into transparent containers and bottles. They are subsequently neatly displayed at supermarkets, drug stores, food marts etc. If you know how to do these but you're not doing it yet, could you please stop lamenting about recession and start doing something. Even if you don't know how to do it, I'm sure you can learn them in a few days. To do this, I'm sure your kitchen can serve.
4: Buying and Selling:
With the advent of e-commerce, you do not need a shop on the street before you can do buying and selling. All you need do is buy your stuff from the wholesalers store and sell online. There are many online shops where buying and selling take place. The beauty of online sales is that you can sell anything. You can sell your wares on konga.com, jiji.com, efiritin.com, olx.com, jumia.com and a host of others. With this, you have eliminated all the costs of running a shop and the incessant harassments of the local authorities. Many Nigerians are beginning to shop online because it's obviously stress free.
5: Forex Trading:
Foreign exchange trading is another business you can do from the comfort of your bedroom. Though this requires training, it is noteworthy that the training is just a few hours. All you need is a laptop with a good internet connection. With smart phones everywhere, your need is half solved. There are many agencies around you who are into foreign exchange trading and training. You too can train others for a fee when you start trading. Find out today how you can start forex trading.
6: Soap Making:
Many people are already into liquid soap and other toiletries production. This does not require a large factory. A well ventilated corner in your compound can serve this purpose. All you need is a good knowledge of soap and disinfectant production. The training for this does not last for many days. You can learn this and also teach others. You can also read up safety tips online or learn that too as you learn soap making. You do not have to supply all the markets in your city, but your community has schools and hospitals, restaurants and even homes. Soap and disinfectants are needed everywhere every day. If you know how to do this but still procrastinate, you're one of our recession problems.
7: Social Media Sales:
Whilst you're busy reading the gossips on facebook, twiiter, instagram, whatsapp, periscope and other social networking media, others are busy making money from it. In fact, what you're reading may actually be what has put money in another person's pocket. The fact that you have read it means more money for the person. You can leverage on your social popularity for marketing or advertising other people's products. Simple sharing and liking a picture is actually business for some people. If you do not know how to convert your huge Facebook account, large number of Twitter followers to some cash, ask google now!
8: Training:
A lot of us move about with a huge deposit of knowledge in our heads without making it available for others to learn. There's always something you know that many do not know. You can provide all kinds of training by simply gathering a few individuals or visiting homes for private coaching. You can do training in Music, Language/Phonics, leadership, capacity building, critical thinking, growth and developmental skills. This is one of the ways of increasing the knowledge base of a society. I have on several occasions provided training for teachers and other stake holders in education including prefects and school heads and I bought my first car from this! All you need do is to start providing limited free services to start with. That is the best marketing you can do (free services); and believed it or not, when you are discovered to have something up there, the sky becomes the starting point.
9: Online Surveys:
You can make some extra cash by simply completing some forms online. Filling out information for an online magazine or companies that need such information is not a free venture. There are loads and loads of organizations out there seeking for relevant information. What you know may as well be beneficial to them. So, please tell them! Oh! Where to find them? Don't forget to ask google.
10: Online Image Handler:
Most celebrities and politicians who cannot avoid being in the social media must pay handlers to take care of issues arising in the social media. Since the advent and the geometrical increase in the usage of social media, more and more opportunities abound therein. All you need do is your ability to use social media; no training is required and there are agencies looking for people like you. Locate them now!
11: Bed and Breakfast:
If you live near places like the National Stadium where conventions are held most times, you can offer people accommodation if you have a spare room. You can also do this near all tourist centers. Though this sounds herculean because you need to have a spare room and most times, many tourists and visitors are skeptical of such services due to security concerns. However, the opportunity is there, and it becomes very ripe when people become stranded. It happened during the national conventions of the major political parties where even after private homes where converted many still found no place to lay their heads. Watch out for such opportunities. You may just be an agent if you cannot provide the rooms yourself.
12: Food Vending:
Preparing and selling special delicacies can be done from the comfort of your kitchen. On several occasions, I have ordered noodles through a phone call. Such food vendors do not want you to come to their "restaurant" just call them and they'll deliver. To do this, all you need is a special cuninery skill which many people actually have. You need not rent a bogus shop, buy chairs, and employ a lot of people. So if you have little cash and you can cook, all you need is to produce a beautiful menu card and send to different offices. Be rest assured, you'll start selling food to a lot of people. Do not forget that you can sell online too. And remember that Nigeria now imports egusi and ogbono soup from India which means there's a market for cooking a pot of soup for those who don't have the time and do not want to be paying a cook after buying their stuff. So I can order for a sizable amount of fried rice and a certain number of fried chicken laps if you have it to sell. Come on guys! This is business.
13: Blogging:
You are reading this because I have written it. If you can write articles, or any other form of writing at all, you might as well be a blogger. Writing to inform or entertain can actually get you some cool cash. Once you begin to get adverts on your blog, it means you'll be paid for it. You can also write for online or hard copy magazines. Don't forget that the information you have in google, Wikipedia etc. are all written by human beings. If you're convinced you're a good writer, start making money with your skill now. A blog account could be opened just within five minutes.
14: Laundry:
A lot of people patronize laundry services simply because they're professionals. I have this belief that my laundryman knows better, what to do with my jackets and shirts than I do. Becoming a professional laundryman is as simple as asking google. You can pick up cloths from offices and deliver them without necessarily having to rent a shop. Just drop your house address.
In conclusion, Nigeria has the largest market in Africa; you don't need to ask who needs what you have, a lot of people do. It is also noteworthy that one can actually combine two or three of the businesses mentioned above. You can also do some of them as side jobs for extra cash! All you need is to create a standard that cannot only sell but also can endear you to quality control agencies rather than pitch you against them.
While you wait for that large opportunity to suddenly emerge from nowhere! While you wait for that job that has not been created, while you wait for brothers and sisters, uncles and aunties; while you contemplate joining that criminal gang or taking to drug trafficking; while you attend all prayer houses and vigils for a miracle job, could you please start doing something?
Whether you are a student; a youth corper, a house wife, a job applicant or even an employed person, you can always leverage an opportunity to make extra cash.
See you at the top!

HealthWhy 72 Nigerians Die Of Cancer Everyday- Steve Obiakor by stevedeey(op): 7:09am On Dec 01, 2016
I grew up in an environment where everything was at peace with man. It was an environment where nature respected man and man respected nature; an environment where drinking water from swamps, ponds and creeks never caused typhoid fever; a rustic countryside where farm work took the place of regular exercise. In such an environment, we ate organic food, planted with natural compost manure. Malaria was treated with herbs, wounds healed faster; there were limited cases of infections. On no occasion would you hear that any illness was terminal. I could not remember having any member of my community in the so called hospital for days, weeks, months let alone hearing that he/she died. The word cancer never existed, some would argue that it existed, but people did not know; that’s not rue; it never existed. Studies by Organic Consumers Association of the United States have shown that 80% of cancer related diseases are caused by environmental and food carcinogens (what we eat and what we breathe) poisoned food and polluted air!

Technological advancement has changed everything; man has caused serious damage to nature and nature has turned against man. Harmful chemicals are now used to grow food, including poultry and dairy foods. To an average Nigerian on the street, Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) is a “big grammar”. But, it’s simply a situation whereby the natural process of reproduction in plants and animals are altered and bypassed. How do you explain that a chicken laid an egg without mating with a cockerel? That would have been an abomination! How does a chicken grow to a full monstrous adult fowl within a week? They are slaughtered and injected with more chemicals for preservation and shipped to us in the name of frozen chicken! It travels for months on the ocean, getting more and more contaminated. When it finally arrives, we look at it in admiration and call it orobo! Our eateries would serve them half done (you’ll almost see the blood gushing out or congealed). The roadside barbecue makers would slice them for you as you want; the stew from mummy’s kitchen would spill the aroma all over the place and we would salivate for it! The result is that 72 people die everyday in Nigeria.

In those days, we ate rice only on Sundays or special occasions like Christmas, New Year, Easter wedding celebrations etc. Today we eat rice everyday; some eat rice more than twice in a day. Rice has gradually become the commonest of all staple foods. The demand for rice has multiplied thereby encouraging a lot of people into rice importation rather than rice farming. We have no problem with rice importation if what is being imported is safe for human consumption. Before now, we had to contend with the fact that the process of packaging, preservation and transportation of rice made it unhealthy for consumption. Experts argue that some of the rice we eat are too old to remain safe. That is to say, they are expired. This is not easily noticed because they contain chemicals in the name of preservatives. For rice to also remain in a container for months makes it more dangerous for consumption. Now, we do not only contend with the dangers incurred through the normal process of packaging and transporting rice; we also now, have to ascertain whether what we’re eating is actually rice.

For months now, the news about plastic rice has gone viral on the social media. Ordinarily, one would dismiss that as a hoax; but no reliable authority has actually refuted the existence and circulation of plastic rice. A few media reports have it that the news of plastic rice (be it real or a hoax) has been in circulation since 2011 and even before then in Asian countries. A lot of online media reports pointed accusing finger on China based on some video clips released on YouTube claiming the existence of these plastic rice factories. Further reports show that many Asian countries carried out investigations to ascertain the authenticity of the reports. While some claim that plastic rice did not exist, others said their investigations affirmed its existence. An online publication by GMA News Online quoted a Professor from the University of the Philippines, Dr. Gabriel Alonzo as saying that there was a difference between a ‘fake rice; and a ‘fabricated rice’. While fake rice contains traces of plastics, fabricated rice is made from other foods such as corn and other consumable starch. He went on to imply that fabricated rice was safe for consumption while fake rice was not.

From the foregoing, it is obvious that fake rice has actually existed in these Asian nations. 90% of the rice imported/smuggled into Nigeria is from these nations. Rice is a serious contra ban today in Nigeria. Importation of rice is actually a serious crime; but, four out of every five bags of rice in most markets across the country are imported. How did they get to Nigeria? As the news of plastic rice circulates undisputed, the consequence is that more than 72 people will die everyday.

Do you mind buying locally produced rice? Do you mind eating locally grown chicken?

Prayers already being answered..

What a listening God.

They are going down in quick succession cheesy
I only have this for you

SEE WHO MOCKED GOD:
John Lennon (Singer):
Some years ago, during his interview with an
American Magazine, he said:
'Christianity will end, it will disappear.
I do not have to argue about that.. I am certain.
Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple,
today we are more famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more
famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.
Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he
got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God
would remove him from Presidency.
Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day
before his inauguration as President and he died.
Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and
poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some
smoke into the air and said:
'God, that's for you.'
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a
horrible manner.
The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of the Cruise Ship, Titanic,
a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would
be.
With an ironic tone he said:
'Not even God can sink it'
The result: I think you all know what happened to
the Titanic
Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a
presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach
to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she
said: 'I don't need your Jesus'.
A week later, she was found dead in her
apartment
Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979
songs he sang:
'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down
the highway to hell'.
On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was
found dead, he had been choked by his own
vomit.
Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil, a group of friends, drunk,
went to pick up a friend.....
The mother accompanied her to the car and was
so worried about the drunkenness of her friends
and she said to the daughter holding her hand,
who was already seated in the car:
'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect
You.'
She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The
Trunk, 'Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '
Hours later, news came that they had been
involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died.
The car could not be recognized what type of car
it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was
intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could
have remained intact.
To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of
eggs, none was broken
Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and
entertainer) said the Bible (Word of God) was the
worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond
recognition in her motor vehicle.
Many more important people have forgotten that
there is no other name that was given so much
authority as the name of Jesus.
Many have died, but only Jesus died and rose
again, and he is still alive....

If a man sheds tears because of a woman, there are two things in my opinion
1) he truly loves her, which is a good thing and I will advise the lady to go back to him
2)His emotions are fragile which could lead to extreme paranoia and obsession which could be dangerous for both the lady and himself because it could lead to depression, and such individual may become suicidal
you've said it well. You were insightful in your evaluation of issue. You thought critically and wrote analytically to draw your line of reasoning. The logic in your response was sound.
