My DS-160 form is correct, it's d appointment schedule like @stevenjel's
I really understand what you mean. My point of advice is based on what i used at the embassy, I don't dispute what @LadyGuinivere said, cos her own point too was based on experience, so to be on a safer side, I'll advise you login back to your appointment page and use the feedback page at at the left menu list. I am sure they will help you correct it within 24hours if need be. Just make sure you scan the data page of your international passport and attach with the mail for quick action. They will definitely ask for it.

LadyGuinivere:
I have no idea what u filled. All I know is if Temmy failed to fill in her middle name, she should strive to correct it. And you telling her its ok like that isn't.
Look at the highlighted part of justwise's recent post for emphasis
All right, you have actually given her a good suggestion which I believe will cost her nothing. But my main issue is the fact that you said my info is wrong, I just logged in to my profile now, and I can't find middle name there, except for FIRST NAME and LAST NAME as shown in the pix attached. Maybe I am actually using old version of appointment page. lol

LadyGuinivere:
Not true please. The ist time I applied,(like 5 years ago) I omitted my middle name. The VO sent me out and I went to the cybercafes around the lagos embassy to edit it. Apparently she enabled it so I could edit the DS 160. Note: it says name must be exactly as it is on your passport. Ada Yemi Alade could be a different person from Ada Alade.
@ Temmy , I suggest you fill a new ds 160 properly, cancel the existing appointment and rebook with the new one.
On the alternative, send them an email and see what they tell you, u can never go wrong there.
Cheers and gopod luck
Well, I am not a visa officer er, but whatever info I give is based on personal experience. Between January and December this year I have assisted 3 friends in filling forms, including my personal own which I attached its picture here. And the recent was about 10 days ago. So if you say my info is wrong, well maybe I didnt get the question right.

Compliments of the season people, I've my interview in a couple of weeks but when scheduling appointment I filled only my first and last name cos there was no place for middle name
Later found out it shd be exactly how it is in my passport.
Want to knw if:
1, I can go like dt or
2, How I can change/adjust d details
Thank you so much for ur response
You have nothing to worry about. Just ensure your last name and first name are the same with what you have on the passport. And I hope you understand that your last name means your surname, cos some people do make mistake on this. If all that are in order, Proeed to the embassy and get your visa.

Does travelling experience as an individual and not as a family count for a family visa.
i.e both wife and hubby have travel experience but not together as a family.
It really counts. Just give a good reason why you have not been able to travel together, in case the VO asks.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by Stevenjel: 7:43pm On Dec 19, 2014
Below is her transcript as she was interviewed by the VO. Note: the "me" refers to her and not myself. Just doing the post on her behalf cos she's not on Nairaland.

Me: Good morning
VO: Good morning, so where in the US are you going to?
Me: Austin in Texas
VO: What are you going there for?
Me: I am going going for a research conference.
VO: So what's the conference all about?
Me: I gave her the details of the conference as written on the conference website and the invitation sent to me.
VO: What do you do?
Me: I am a postgraduate student of university of Ibadan.
VO: Postgraduate of where? (It seemed she didn't hear me clearly)
Me: University of Ibadan
VO: Of what benefit is the conference to you?
ME: I explained to her in details how the conference relates to my course work, field work and a research paper I am working on.
VO: So what are your findings on the research paper?
ME: I'm still on it, I've not completed it
VO: ok, so why this particular conference?
ME: It will help me in the course of writing my research paper because through the seminars and talks that will be given by other researchers, I will have a better understanding on what I need for my research
VO: So, can you tell me one of your objectives for the research paper?
ME: I explained to her in details
VO: So tell me how you will achieve the objectives
ME: (Though I wasn't prepared for all these, but I immediately put myself together downloaded what I never rehearsed, after which she gave me a consenting nod)
VO: Are you married?
Me: No
VO: Do you have any relative in the US?
Me: No
VO: Where do your parents live?
Me: Ekiti
VO: And your siblings?
Me: Ekiti, except those in school.
VO: Who is paying for your trip?
ME: My uncle
VO: why your uncle?
ME: Because he has being the one sponsoring my education since the death of my father.
VO: Ok. You can pick up your visa on Monday. (But I already picked it up today... Got two years visa)

To my utmost surprise, no document was checked, just that she drilled me like no man's business. I went with my uncle's bank statement, His sponsorship letter, a letter from my project supervisor, and the conference invitation letter. I don't have any travel history, and in fact, I got my international passport about a month ago.

My advice: Work seriously on your ds-160, make sure you give details of your duties when filling the form. Don't put what you can't defend on your form. Be 100% honest.

Pray, Pray and Pray hard. Fast if you can. God still works wonders!

i dont get!
im a member of the association thats organizing the conference
you mean they dont give students visa. it has to do with my field
my sister ! my hod gave me a letter addressed to the embassy when i was to go to SA
I am surprised with the way we keep discouraging people here. Students have 70% assurance of getting US visa if he/she can reasonably convince the VO on the the reason for the trip. I got my B1/B2 through the information I got from this thread January this year. I helped a close person of mine, who happens to be a postgraduate student to UI with her application few weeks back. She went for the interview on Wednesday and she was granted.

The truth is that, no one can predict the outcome of US visa application. Do your assignments well. Prepare yourself to the fullest. Ensure that the conference you are going for is 99% related to your postgraduate course and also your dissertation or thesis. Have good knowledge of the course you are studying, have good knowledge of the conference you are going for, in fact, prepare as if you are going to defend your project. Why? This is because all the questions that will be asked from you will be based on this conference and your course of study.
And as a student, the visa officer believe you are still dependent. Show good reason why your uncle or your auntie is sponsoring you. Make sure your d-160 is filled with every sense of carefulness and honesty. Thou shall not lie! Then above all, pray as if your life depends on it, especially for divine favour. You will surely smile out!

I will post her transcript here before the day runs out!

Hi Guys,

Many thanks for your commitment towards these insightful interactions. My question is quite straightforward. I am a widely traveled 31 year old single man. Over the past year, I've been on about 5 business trips to the UK mainly and other European countries as well. It has become necessary to visit the United States for the purpose of business meetings in February. Now my growing concern as I read through this extensive thread and others on this site is the fact that the embassy seems to places a lot of stock on your marital status as this establishes adequately, your tie to your home country. Can my extensive travel history make up for the fact that I'm unmarried or this would still raise eyebrows and dent my chances of a successful application. Thanks in advance.
Sometimes these visa officers psychologically study how genuine your details are, and they base their judgement on it. I got my visa January dis year at your age range, and as a single person. The lady asked if I was married, I answered no but will be getting married very soon. She asked if I was engaged, and I answered yes. She smiled and told me my visa has been approved.

Pray for God's favour, and truthfully fill in every detail as requested, then go get your visa.

Good evening great gurus in the house. Please is online US visa payment still working? Cos I was trying to help someone just now, but it kept bringing error message.

Please, for a masters' student going for conference in the USA, what are the things he is expected to fill in duties on the ds-160 form? And what are the necessary documents expected to take for the interview?

Thanks so much.

TV/MoviesMovies And Marital Crisis by Stevenjel(op): 5:50pm On Nov 06, 2014
Movies addicts should help me with this please!

What is the stand of Nollywood, Hollywood and the likes on "Crisis Management" between couples?

Why is it that every marital dispute in movies ends in physical assault, cheat and divorce?

Are these people trying to tell the targeted viewers that it's not possible for couples to settle matters without the Knowledge of the third party?

Well... What do you think?

As at about two years ago that I was still job-hunting, jobberman was really ok then but I am not sure of now. At least I got different invitations from companies they advertised, though you have to make detailed enquiries before honouring any of the invitations, as some of them will turn out to be healthy agencies looking for representatives
