INEC is just a big disgrace.

It's really a shame that literally all the elections conducted in the 36 states were settled in courts.

If this is now the case, INEC should be scraped and power should be given to he judiciary conduct elections cos it's very obvious that INEC doesn't know what they're doing.

Can you please tell us which election was not disputed since 1999?

Candidates always go to court over party primaries and main elections in Nigeria. So you guys should stop being stupid.

I don't know much about these countries, sorry. You can research them online or ask Nairalanders that live/lived there. I heard that Australia's average annual salary is comparable to that of Canada, but I don't know about the tax and cost of living there.

Thanks very much for your sincerity

That's a tricky one. To be honest, when I said entry, mid and senior level jobs, I was referring to highly skilled professionals ranging from those who are just starting thier careers (entry level) to those that are well advanced in thier profession (senior level). Example of such highly skilled professionals include teachers, technicians, lawyers, business analysts, project managers, doctors, software developers, engineers, accountants, nurses, bankers, and other such professionals that require specialized skills or university degrees. For these groups of people, I have a 'fair understanding' of the salary scale in some countries in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.

However, when you say "middle class jobs", I have a feeling you're referring to semi-skilled workers like clerical staff, equipments installers, warehouse supervisors, pest control technicians, customer service rep and other similar jobs that are classified above unskilled but do not require extensive training or university degree or specialization. If that is the case, I might not be able to answer factually cause I've not really spent time in that part of the labour market. What I know for sure is that such jobs are more readily available in the US than other places I've lived in or visited.

For the first group of people I mentioned (highly skilled), I observed that the country that pays the most "after-tax" salary in the Middle East is the UAE (the after-tax is in quote cause they don't pay income tax anyway. However, they mostly pay transferred employees more). Saudi Arabia (no income tax too) is also very similar. In the Americas, it is the US and in Europe, countries like Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, Luxembourg, etc tend to pay more than others. Singapore, Japan and Honkong are strong contenders in Asia. When compared as a whole, I observed the US generally pays more than the European countries except for those specific high income countries in Europe. While the UAE tend to pay the most, the chances of getting those kinds of jobs are higher in the US/Canada. Again, when you consider income before tax, you might have a different arrangement with countries like the US, Germany, Canada, the UK, etc going up the least (I know nothing about Australia and New Zealand).

One thing to bear in mind is that when it comes to earning potential, salary is one thing, actual job opportunity is another. Again, the pay is not always what it seems like as tax and cost of living are always in play. And please, take everything I said with a pinch of salt. This is based on personal experience and observations and, therefore, is more opinionated than factual. There are more detailed reports online shared by those who have actually studied the labour markets across the globe. I beseech you to read them for more accurate information.

I love your method of analysis.

What can you say about countries like Kuwait, Malaysia, Australia and Andorra?
Travel / Re: After JAPA - How Long It Took To Make Your First 100 Million by StJasper(m): 11:34am On Sep 09, 2023

I've lived in 4 countries, so let me offer my two cents.

First, if you're looking at it from a financial standpoint, those who live in Nigeria and work for organizations in Europe or the Americas are far more gainfully employed than those living in these places (even though those living abroad are more paid than thier offshore counterparts). Even if you spend mindlessly, you'd still likely be very rich cause of exchange rate. If you're single, you'd probably be spending between 5% to 10% of your salary (depending on your level) and the remaining part (which could be more than a million depending on your level) could go to savings and investment. Meanwhile, your counterparts in the Western world will be spending in the currency of the resident countries. Some of them might even be struggling to save after paying monthly house rent of about $2,300 in NY and bills like electricity, water, gas, internet, phone, cable etc. as well as other expenses like transportation, groceries, wears, haircut and entertainment. There's simply no comparison here.

That said, like someone has already mentioned, living abroad isn't all about money for some people. Other factors like amenities, safety, passport (freedom of movement), exposure to diversity and, most importantly, the future of your offspring all come into play. Now, to your question, it all depends on the individual's field, level, the country where they are and the exchange rare at the time. Some countries pay more than others. Some fields pay more than others and advanced/senior professionals earn more than mid level and entry level professionals. So it's not very practical to give a figure. Moreover, people aren't dumb enough to keep compounding money in the bank like that. That's a poor man's mindset. Buying assets that appreciate with time or investing in financial instruments that counters inflation is the only way to secure the value of your money. Finally, whether you move or not is up to you. You might save less (even though you get paid more when you're there), live in a much smaller apartment and deal with the cold weather and racism, but there are benefits like thes ones I mentioned above. It's an individual thing. So take a moment to understand your priorities. And if you're still not so sure, secure a visitors' visa and go see for yourself first (bearing in mind visiting/vacationing in a place is far more fun than actually living there).

Good luck!

Highly analytical and reasonable.

I have a question for you. Which countries pay more for middle class jobs?

How can someone from "another tribe fall victim" if he had properly married the woman? Do you think it is applicable to only non-igbo men? When you research you will find out that there are many igbo men over the decades who had no paternal custody of their biological children because they did not marry the mothers of their children. In igbo land, bride price is what traditionally makes a man an in-law not being a baby daddy.

Thank God you said Igbo land, not in Nigeria or all over the world.

From the report they were never married as bride price was never paid. just cohabiting.

In many igbo communities, children of such relationship belong to the woman's family and should she get married to another man, those children will remain with her family of birth while in some igbo communities, the man who eventually pays her bride price becomes the father of those children and bears his name.......ask questions before opting to be a baby daddy.

Whenever a person from another tribe falls victim of your so called culture, you always celebrate and eulogize your culture but whenever its other people's culture, then you will start wailing.
