Be like the red no be for only naija exchange. E touch US too... |
But even in bear market some stocks will still do well. Institutional investors and asset management firms will keep investing as the allocation must be utilised by the treasury department. We gather de. Streetinvestor2: |
Na this same limit gives room for gaming and manipulation. You go see bids lining up at 90 90k cos they dont want the price to drop after buying. When there is offer or bid above 100k person go chop am 70k and 30k so the price no go change. If you want a stock to move just come early morning sweep offers till you hit your target of 100k units that will change to the price you want then go to sleep. If you see any offer above 100k chop am off to reduce the 100k. Repeat and watch the share price grow. May not really work on very penny stock. Eg is bua cement today and mtn yesterday. awesomeJ: |
Ngx needs to reconsider this 100k units esp for stocks with high share price. The day after okomus result it did 1billion in value yet price no change. Presco no event get any offer or bid above 100k units on the trade table since release of result. Nestle did over 2 billion in value yet barely moved.. awesomeJ: |
I was asking myself same question too. 😁😁. And very few outstanding shares... My spec.. Oasisblue: |
Aradel on full offer yet price no change, dangcem almost on full offer yet price no change, same with mtn instead e go even close 520.10. this our ngx eh.. lol. I think its easier to manipulate this our ngx if you have deep pockets like the MM. you can determine how the share prices go. |
Our capital market still has a long way to go. Going by this figure thats less than 2% of our population, While south africa and US have above 50% of their population. emmanuelewumi: |
Truth is anyone using these nigerian platforms that charge excessive fees is just short changing him/herself. You wouldnt know until you calculate these fees. But when you use platforms that charge no fees you will understand. I tried to explore the option of trading 212 but i understand its not open to nigerians. Naija do suffer sha. Vest came ro the rescue. I have used vest for about 5 months now. I quickly moved my portfolio from optimus to vest. I realised i was just short changing my self with their 1% commissions. Imagine 1% of 1k usd thats 10 usd while vest is free. These platforms are just milking nigerians. On top of it vest is better in buy and sell including fractional shares, UI, better customer support, responsive, and have great international presence. Our local platforms have horrible customer support. The only downside of vest which is negligible and can be managed with better planning is the funding and withdrawal which takes about 15 to 18 hours. So i fund early morning before 6 and when the market opens before 6 in the evening you should see the fund. Withdrawal should be about 24 to 48 hours. Aside that the platform is super b. Also from my experience in moving my portfolio from Optimus to vest i got more comfortable with them as they share same stockbroker with optimus which is drive wealth. So in events anything happens with vest you can move your portfolio to another broker through the drive wealth platform. I just frown at all these our platforms chaka, troove, bamboo, optimus etc that are ripping us off... yok: |
Thats a whopping 5 years from now and just about 100%. I believe you are being conservative anyway..I think there are 2 categories of investors. Those on aggressive growth and those on stability. If you have deep pockets you can comfortably play the stable game with the banks and its dividends. If you are still grwoing you can tilt towards aggresive. Well except the trajectory of the banks change. All things being equal there are stocks that can do this 100% in a year and thats a no brainer. So it just depends on the kind of imvestor one is. Bua cement is on another level... Mehnn thebargainhunte: |
The kind of money pimping into Aradel i never see such deep pocket.. the person no get time for bargain hunting. Na to de clear offers any how . |
Access don de cook result Lol.. this is what happens when a company runs a key man risk. The demise of Wigwe is affecting them. When you have a powerful man as CEO and he departs it is difficult to enter the shoes..pluto09: |
I doubt that 1 trillion figure oo.. how possible. PAT Not revenue?pluto09: |
🤣🤣🤣 at the bolded... No be small... With close to 40 billion free float of shares.. i have reservations for any stock with more than 2-5 billion free float of shares. Most banks fall in this category. MeezPat: |
Okomu paid 30 naira half year. If this 10 is added that is 40 naira. Lets see what they pay for full year. Seems okomu is trying to become the dividend machine. I think i will top up my okomu more at sub 1000 lets see if we can drive it to 1500 that will be 50%. My grouse with stocks that are this high is that block trade of 100k units, the price may not always move that easy. Though it is a gift and also a curse cos as e no easy to move up it wont also fall recklessly... emmanuelewumi: |
Two stocks witnessing this for the past month is Nahco and Guiness... kintus: |
Abeg anyone with idea how one can be getting instant push notifications on corporate actions of ngx listed companies once it is published. Just imagine if i am working in the department on ngx that uploads these documents. My heritage will never be poor for life.. life and its undue advantage |
But wait o. So if one uses 5M to make 15M profit in a year, and sells the cgt will be applied. Say 25% on the 15M that will be 3,750M. Well its not just for HNI. Na that one them use de deceive us. Just like they deceived us that fuel subsidy only benefits the rich, but na every body de feel am now. |
Sure. You can also average up for fundamental stocks that still have potential. That way your asset cost averages up. Well its mostly HNI that will thinker around this. Mpeace: |
Another excerpt from the link which is a concern. While optimistic, experts warned of potential challenges in aligning tax authority infrastructure with market participant technology, particularly in the capital market. Mr. Saheed Bashir, MD of Meristem Stockbrokers Limited, shared concerns about the impact of the CGT increase from 10% to 30% for retail investors, which may initially affect liquidity and transaction frequency. However, he acknowledged that the long-term effect would likely see greater market participation from retail investors, especially if the gains are reinvested into Nigerian entities. I think the link addresses most of the gray areas from experts. Its left for us to restrategise. |
Guys in respect to the discussion on tax... See below excerpts. The link is also included. Take note of the statement "no blanket exemption for long term holdings". I think lofty 1000 and unite4real are right. Street and Emma listen to the words of wisdom. This government is looking for money by all means and them no send our feelings or emotions... Key changes include the retention of the 30 per cent Corporate Income tax (CIT) rate. Capital Gains Tax (CGT) thresholds have been raised: proceeds from share disposals under ¦ 150 million annually are now exempt, up from ¦ 100 million per the Finance Act, and gains not exceeding ¦ 10 million in any consecutive 12-month period are also exempt. Notably, there is no blanket exemption for long-term holdings, which is designed to incentivize IPO participation. Withholding Tax (WHT) regulations have been harmonized to clarify qualifying transactions and streamline compliance, though rates for foreign investors remain unchanged. Any future reduction would require separate legislative action. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2025/09/brace-for-risks-under-new-tax-laws-experts-tell-financial-institutions/ |

The way the banks share price go receive beating if no interim dividend ehh...cos if no interim dividend there might not even be full year dividend. Fingers crossed. Gtb result will be a pointer to what others will be, because they are seen as having clean books as regards the issue. Agbalowomeri: |

Really... 10 years!!!.. Thats serious... Abi na for life penny stock.. well never say never. Na so some people hold aiico too and e no gree shake body for years but its now flying... japaul sand🤣🤣 street easy on jegede na. Streetinvestor2: |
But come to think of it loco might be right.. if you listen to market whispers you will see reason with this his assertion. I remember vividly when japual was on full bid heading to 3.30 or so. Dying minute as at close of trade. Someone just crashed the offer to 3 naira below. I was wondering why person go do that kind thing and the motive behind it. This now makes sense. Make una no let the gbas gbos from street and co discourage you o.. for me it brings a balanced view and thinking with different hats which is also needed..i never enter japaul but i am still observing.
