barcanista:Wrong! Compare Abacha to GEJ. Abacha tried to perpetuate himself in power by all means. . read your history books. . the patterns he used (buying political parties' endorsement, youth bodies' endorsement etc) are all the patterns GEJ is using now!!! Buhari on the other hand, has competed three times and always gone to the courts to challenge if need be. A respecter of the rule of law. Nothing like Abacha. Your GEJ is the one that has ABACHA TENDENCIES! And we know how his end was. |
A word is enough for the wise. Seun, front page please so that some lives of nairalanders wishing Buhari death can be saved. It's not a threat, it's just God. You can't play God and determine who dies before who. Be careful. Front page please. |
IVORY2009:My response to you is, No I am NOT Mynd44. As you can see, I copied him (that's what cc stands for). I don't have to be Mynd44. It's a discussion forum and when I spot a blatant contradiction I have a duty to correct it. Whether or not Punch is partisan, you can't accuse them of that on the one hand (because they write something that doesn't favour fayose) and ignore that they helped spread fayose's DEATH WISH AD. It is a contradiction. have a nice day |
IVORY2009:Yeah punch is partisan so they surely won't have anything in support of fayose. Uhm, is it the same punch that carried the FAYOSE DEATH WISH ? Think a little more before you make certain comments. That's the main problem you young people have.cc: Mynd44 |
jonathan12345:What? Does this man do these things on purpose? So since they have not "displayed" them, they MUST be alive? SMH! I totally pray and hope they are alive but the president should give a better assurance than this na. ahn ahn |
Nice! GEj at the NTA ANNEX!! I believe that interview was the first TV STUDIO INTERVIEW by him. Desperate times call for desperate measure. . lol |
OREMUSSANCTUS:Ah! So you admit that was a PDP plan. So why did the PDP come out to say they had nothing to do with it and were even hoping that the election will hold because they were sure of victory? lol Why did your president claim he knew nothing about it and even the service chiefs that report to him did not tell him about the security issues that made them advise a postponement? With your singular "intelligent" statement that condradicts the above, who really should wake up? LOL |
So that's the woman that lives with that thing? That's the woman that has to bear all the venom from him. Accept my condolences madam! |
Otenestbestyaho:No no need for this. A group ACD or something, recently came out and said their party is heavily mobilising for Jonathan across the entire country and that they have over 10 million members. That's all they said and they will collect their share of the money. So just go on TV and tell PDP that, they will send you your share you hear? LOL!! |
Bola Ige once said the South-west was educationally more advanced than the rest of Nigeria by at least 50 years. He was right and that's why I think the yorubas will not be easily influenced by a bunch of "elders". They will vote based on their convictions, largely (of course the recent Ekiti/rice/fayose saga has asked questions of the "intelligence" of the yorubas. . ) |
itetemi:Ah forget it. This kind of stuff can't make front page o. It's not nice for GEJites. Lol |
Oya where are all the deluded GEJites to scream STAGED!!!! Lol Kai this 21 billion shaaaa! Everybody is using this opportunity to eat from national cake! NAIRALANDERS what are you waiting for. Just send a mail to GEJ and say you endorse him and collect your money! I have news for GEJites; NIGERIANS HAVE ENDORSED BUHARI! LIVE WITH IT!!!! |
Guys please check the FRONT PAGE!!! FFK's watery response made it to the front page TWICE!!!! What is going on on nairaland? Seun and co please do the needful to this. Thanks for your cooperation ![]() |
Fantastic response! PDP said the Chatham house talk was useless. Yet they; (1) Claimed it won't hold and that Buhari was lying about it. (2) Quickly hired riff-raffs to protest after paying them $5 each. Lol (3) they were all paying attention and pissing their pants on social media yesterday (4) They released SEVERAL STATEMENTS on it (FFK, METUH) etc. . . Lol All this for an "insignificant talk" ![]() PDP and their cronies should give up! Change has come! NOTHING CAN STOP CHANGE!!! By the way, BUHARI'S SPEECH WAS A MASTERPIECE!!!! |
Hehe. OP you are so smart. Clap for yourself. Finally you know how to copy and paste. The only thing worse than FFK that fixed the protests is GEJites like you that live in denial. The reporter is sympathetic to GMB. Live with it. The paid protest was badly arranged and the person that did it scammed FFK. Live with it A popular twitter GEJite was even in their crowd among the other paid ignoramuses. Live with it. Next time just pray and hope that you get your cut. Lol |
Congrats to Kevin Olusola. But what's going on with Nairaland?!!!! This has clearly been revealed as false information - Sade Adu won. Seal won. Etc Yet it's on the FRONT PAGE!!! What's going on with Naiaraland??!! Seun. Honest caution. You are destroying your brand and all you have worked for. Please be guided. |
julie8:That is PRECISELY what it says. A lot of people didn't read it because of it's sensationalist headline. It says clearly that; The certificate can't be in WAEC Ghana because it's not under it's jurisdiction!!! |
A Word is enough for the wise! |
Hmmmm. Good read. When do we focus on the real issues? |
Please someone help! |
Nice one. But I think this was posted earlier here: https://www.nairaland.com/2098646/busted-office-chief-economic-adviser ![]() |
I am sooooo late to this awesome thread sha! eesh! lastma!! ![]() oh well, better late than never! Check out this review as well. . . Oh and if you still have not got this album, no words! No more your freaking bullsh*t! The exact way a song on Asa (her debut album) would not have started. It’s the first phrase you hear on this album. You are taken aback at first, but as the percussions come in, you think of those people who have betrayed you in the past and can totally relate when she goes even harder on them (you really are a fool. . . you’re the devil insane). Dead again is arguably a good start to the album and its energy and vibrancy is bound to grow on you. Eyo is probably the catchiest song on the album. An amazing version of the popular anthem synonymous with the Lagos festival, if you’re abroad you would want to take the next flight home. Damn the generator noise, bad roads or insecurity; maybe not “everybody cares for one another and takes you as their brother”, but the rhythm is guaranteed to hit you with an outstanding force of home-longing too hard to ignore. It is here we first hear Blair’s back-up vocals. It has a magical feel to it, the supporting role it plays, and when he sings the word – Eyo – with so much soul, whoa! “They came inside without a sound. . . I know my life will never be the same”. Moving on explores the devastating consequences of rape; its facets of violation that transcend the physical. Asa delivers this masterpiece (Big ups to the lyrics of omolara and Asa) with the intensity the subject requires and the uplifting message of triumph in spite of pain is reassuring in its sincerity and optimism – perhaps the most powerful and emotional song on the album. The ‘problem’ with grateful is that she starts off singing in Yoruba. See, let me explain. When Asa starts a song in Yoruba, I’m sold. No, really I don’t even wait to listen to the rest of the song. I’m not sure what the secret is (the deliberate pronunciations, proverbs or often dry humour?) but they are always epic. And so, grateful follows in the footsteps of Awe, Eye adaba, Bimpe and broda ole in that hall of fame. This is the song i would have wanted to be in the studio during the recording. Listen with really good headphones and you hear (no, feel) the background chants/claps/whistles. Ife is the one I was waiting to hear. You know, the Bibanke-baby gone-esque song. The sad love song accompanied by the most sublime of strings. . the one you play the imaginary violin to. The one you stay in bed and cry to if you just had a heartbreak. Like baby gone, you know it’s going to be the hidden gem of the album, not as popular as it should be, to be savoured by you and a few others. Asa – no, Bukola – is raw here (no back-up vocals too!) as she pleads for her love (ife) to come back home. Ife is going to be on repeat on many nights. In the one that never comes, she is caught off guard when a friend tells her they’ve fallen for her. “Please don’t tell me you love me ‘cos I’ve been waiting all along for the one that never comes”. . basically friend-zoning them (haha). A soulful end to the album, Asa’s vocals here are amazing still with yet again super backing vocals and instruments. Through it all, she switches from fierce (satan be gone, society) to vulnerable (bed of stone, how did love find me) to triumphant (moving on) in an effortless matrimony of various musical styles, while maintaining the distinctive Asa sound. Beautiful imperfection was an awesome album (Baby gone, brode ole, ore, bimpe. . need I say more?). However, Asa had set some celestial standards with her debut album. Heights that seemed humanly impossible to surpass and a sophomore was bound to have a tough task living up to it. But Bed of stone cuts it. It hits it. Asa brings her A-game here, complete with full armour, guns smoking! http://www.orinocopulse.com/bed-of-stone/ |
Ymodulus:Thumbs up for your FANTASTIC reviews! |

STAGE PERFORMANCE! Good Lord. It's still Largely crappy! Nobody puts any effort into proper stage craft anymore. They just get paid millions only to come and mime to their CDs. While I understand that you can't have a Bez live concert all the time, the least u can do is actually SING/RAP over ur instrumentals. Just don't mime for goodness sake! Better stage stunts/props, some choreography, less technical issues and a host of other improvements won't be such a bad idea. Please guys, don't wait for when we start booing y'all for wack stage performances! |
If you were among the folks at Bez's Concert last night, congratulations on witnessing one of the Best Nigerian Concerts in ages. No DJ Track 1, Track 2. All LIVE Music. Real Music, from Musical instruments. Creation of music from the fundamentals! All the artistes KILLED it. And I mean ALL. Big up to Bez for a FANTASTIC show! If you were there, tell us what you thought of it! ![]() |
Thanks. Seen. Bump! |
