The Benue State Commissioner for Rural Development and Cooperatives, Mr. Aondowase Chia, slumped and later died in the hospital.

Chia is the second commissioner in the ministry to die in office under the administration of Governor Gabriel Suswam.

Atorto Girgi, an indigene of Ushongo Local Government Area of the state, as the ministry’s commissioner, died in active service over three years ago.

Chia died at about 6.30am at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Makurdi.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof. Saint Gbilekaa, who led members of the state executive council on a sympathy visit to the family of the deceased in Makurdi, the state capital, described the death as sad and very unfortunate.

You can not be sure you'll live to see tomorrow until you are 70. These seniors have outlived their life expectancy and they are never going to die before their time. How can I say Buhari is an old man when I still have a 97years old Grandma who is still physically and mentally sound? How can I say Buhari is too old when my Grandpa died on his feet at 105?
