So, since Nicki Minaj does a lot of CRAP she has to do som'n for attention. Voila!

Kobojunkie:
Am I to believe that, once again, rather than negotiating with ALL groups out there that comprise the Nigerian people, the Government has instead chosen to only negotiate this with the NLC?

If this is the case, then it is in the interest of every single Nigerian out there to inundate NLC with their requests and to demand the group make no groups with the Government that the people, as a majority, do not agree on.  ASUU, Market women's unions, Trade Associations, Professional Groups, etc, all ought to be at that negotiations table and all ought to be able to equally vote, since they are also groups that represent, to a degree, the Nigerian people.
I am not certain exactly when NLC became the only voice of Nigerians and it would it be sad if the Government has chosen to see it that way.

THE TRUE STORY THE GOVT WON’T TELL YOUhuh

Nigeria . . . 2011. The Govt. suddenly realised that it had a debt burden that was potentially going to throw it into an economic crisis. On ‘critical analysis’ of the country’s expenditure, they realised they were spending so much on fuel subsidy for the masses.
WHY was it so much? CORRUPTION associated with the importation of the fuel, inefficiency and ineptitude of the Govt. to tackle it.
HOW can it be solved? OPTION ONE: Wage a major anti-corruption war against the CABAL using underhand practices to steal from the country’s commonwealth [corruption can NEVER be ELIMINATED. EVER! However, with sincerity of purpose of Govt., due diligence, hard work and efficiency, it can be reduced drastically]. This option was going to be too much hard work, they would step on toes (toes of the Govt, their friends and well-wishers included) and it was bound to be very messy. It was the HARD OPTION.
OPTION TWO: Eliminate fuel subsidy in its entirety and let the masses bear the cost. All in favour say Aye! . . .Aye!!! The Ayes had it. It
was unanimous! It was the EASY OPTION.

However, there was a catch! The Govt. could not sell that STORY to the people. Nigerians would not buy a story that they were being
impoverished because of a potential debt crisis. That they were being IMPOVERISHED because the Govt. could not fight corruption or ATTEMPT
to fight it. That they were being IMPOVERISHED because the Govt. could not cut down drastically on the COST OF GOVERNANCE. Borrowing the words of a man now in Govt., THE ECONOMISTS WOULD HAVE BEEN STONED.
So they had to cook up a story. A good one.

“Let’s tell them they are being cheated by a RICH CABAL,” they said. “That’s a story the poor would definitely buy. The Rich is stealing
your money. Let’s not tell them that we haven’t attempted to prosecute even ONE MEMBER OF THE RICH CABAL. Let’s not tell them that we are
INTERTWINED with this CABAL. Let’s tell them that we are going to take this money and re-invest it for infrastructural development. Let’s not
tell them that the money DOESN’T EXIST since we have only been borrowing this money and we want to stop borrowing it. Let’s tell them
that when the money is with THE GOVT and split to SEVERAL SECTORS and the THREE TIERS OF GOVT, we would manage it better and tackle the
corruption at ALL THESE LEVELS even if we couldn’t tackle the corruption in ONE SECTOR!!! Yes, let’s tell them.

"Let’s also tell them that when we remove this subsidy, SMUGGLING will stop and all the oil imported to Nigeria will stay in Nigeria. Let’s
not tell them that even after subsidy removal, smuggling will continue as long as there is a price differential. Let’s not tell them that we
are actually too LAZY, INEFFICIENT and CORRUPT to tackle smuggling at the source.
Let’s tell them that the pain is only temporary. Very temporary. That this is for the poor. Let’s not tell them that the POOR which we claim
to fight for are the people who will actually feel the pain. . .REAL LOSERS!!

Let’s hope the NIGERIAN FOOLS will believe this. Let’s tell them this is for the poor. Let’s tell them. All in favour say Aye! . . Aye!!! The Ayes had it! It was unanimous. It was a good STORY!

DISCLAIMER: I do not claim that every bit of this story is true, but it is my guess as to what the REAL STORY is, based on facts revealed
by the actors themselves, hidden truths in their statements, and COMMON SENSE. The ‘Nigerian fools’ are not gullible. . .They were not
counting on that. #OCCUPY.NIGERIA

@LAST PAGE. . . EXACTLY!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU!

@wellmax, my first point just basically highlights the DECEIT that characterises the govt!! Is this the same govt we are supposed to trust and give a chance? they are not even honest about the subsidy thing in the firts place.

ANOTHER POINT which i have made elsewhere is this:

ONE MORE REASON THEY GIVE to remove subsidy is because prices in NEIGHBOURING countries are higher than our own!

So does that mean that our price has to be at par with our neighbours ALWAYS so that people will not smuggle?

So we plan to deregulate and competition would bring prices DOWN? Prices would GO DOWN? REALLY? So by then the smuggling will go on right? Because if we refine and competition pushes prices down, as they have told us, our prices will probably be lower than our neighbours then! By then, it will be a case of us refining in Nigeria and smuggling out na!

Isn't it OBVIOUS therefore that you should not remove subsidy because our prices are lower than neighbours, thereby encouraging smuggling. Rather we should endeavour to put measures in place to CURB SMUGGLING!! If Cameroun sells fuel for 300 NAIRA tomorrow, are we going to increase our own to 300 NAIRA as well so that people won't smuggle?
PoliticsRe: I Didn't Say "The Poor Don't Get It" - Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala by stronger: 8:54pm On Jan 09, 2012
@wellmax
the point with number one is, Nigerians are being made to believe that the AMOUNT of money allocated for subsidy normally would be put into some sort of account and used for development in addition to money previously voted for development. But this is a BAREFACED LIE because SANUSI and co. categorically stated that we CAN't KEEP BORROWING to sustain subsidy!! So the money doesn't exist anymore because Nigeria will NOT borrow!! Geddit? So, what happens then is that the money previously voted for development will be used for some small development and passed off as gains of removing fuel subsidy! Who are we kidding?

as for the second point, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU that corruption is a hydra headed and VERY DIFFICULT to curb, but what they've just done does not solve ANYTHING! They have shared the alleged savings to the three tiers of govt!! Ah!! Tell me wellmax, if they couldn't fight the corruption in ONE SECTOR, How would they fight Corruption in THREE TIERS OF GOVT, MULTIPLE SECTORS, MULTIPLE MINISTRIES??!! Who are we kidding? So they have only transfered the embezzlement from one place to another! Simply put, a NEW CABAL is in town! this just goes to prove the saying 'DON'T STEAL. . THE GOVT HATES COMPETITION!!'

As for the third point, it was a deliberate ploy to deceive people and they stated it very clearly in the newspaper ads! I PERSONALLY READ it where they put 'amount of subsidy enjoyed by woman in village = 0'.

So, we need to read between the lines o. Please counter any of my points so that we can be more enlightened

THREE IMPORTANT QUESTIONS To Those Of You Who STILL Think Fuel Subsidy Removal is good!!
1) At the town-hall meeting, SANUSI LAMIDO and co. stated categorically that we can't sustain fuel subsidy because we can't keep BORROWING to sustain it. Our economy will crash that way! Obviously it means we don't have the money for it because we have been BORROWING! Now, tell me, what money are they REINVESTING? The money doesn't exist, so wot are they telling you we will re-invest? Have you been SCAMMED?!

2) We all agree there is NOTHING WRONG with fuel subsidy! However, what we are spending on it today is TOO MUCH for the nation's economy to bear. But we know that the only reason it is too much is because of CORRUPTION! So we say eliminate or at least reduce the corruption of the so-called CABAL! The Govt says they CAN NOT and the best way is to remove it entirely let Nigerians bear the burden! THE QUESTION IS, even if the money existed, what is to say that they CAN now PREVENT the CORRUPTION IN THE GOVT that will now reinvest this 'imaginary money' if they COULD NOT stop the Govt-aided CABAL?!! Is it Magic?

3) Okonjo-Iweala and her cohorts claimed at the townhall meeting and put up several ads in the media that the POOR DO NOT enjoy the subsidy because they do not go and buy fuel from the filling stations! Don't they realise that the old woman in the village that buys a product that was transported with a vehicle that uses fuel HAS ENJOYED the SUBSIDY because the cost of the product which depends partly on the cost of transportation has therefore been subsidised? If the govt can't grasp that SIMPLE economic concept, shouldn't we be WORRIED??

@ DEBOSKY. . . I'm glad there are still folks like you who are thinking right. Big up, bro!

@ DAVID

davidylan:
Why is it that white and asian nations have the capacity and foresight to prepare for incidents like this far in advance and we cant?
Why are we the only race that is constantly and accurately portrayed in the media as completely helpless without outside aid? It isnt only Haiti . . . Sudan, somalia, Congo . . . when are we going to bring out the begging bowls for them too?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH US?
davidylan:
. . i am simply suggesting that blacks get their acts together and confront the problem besetting nations with predominantly black people head on. I wonder if i'm alone in starting to feel ashamed on the images of blacks on TV. Are we inferior to the whites and Asians who DEVELOP the capacity to deal with crisis like this?
Okay now, let me attempt to put to rest the impression you get that it's ONLY THE BLACK MAN that can't deal with NATURAL DISASTERS!!
Ever heard of the earthquakes (1920, 1927, 1974, 1976 etc) and Floods (1938, 1939, 1949, 1959) in CHINA? (. . . the last time I checked, Asian)
. . .Droughts, Earthquakes and landslides in the SOVIET UNION? (from elementary geography,  EUROPEAN)
. . . Droughts, Earthquakes, Hurricanes etc INDIA? (Again, could be ASIAN, what do you think, David?)
. . . Earthquakes in Japan, Italy, Peru, Turkey, Chile etc Definitely NOT BLACK countries!!!

When these catastrophic NATURAL DISASTERS occured, prepared or not, David, these countries NEEDED help from the rest of the world. . including BLACK NATIONS!!
I hope this puts to rest the fact that it's not about black and white, but about helping a country in need (regardless of colour) to cope with a disaster that even the most technologically advanced NON-BLACK nation couldn't have handled alone!

davidylan:
It might interest you to know that $3bn in aid from the US achieved nothing.
So, we shouldn't donate, right? since it will achieve nothing anyway. . and Like my friend Debosky pointed out, this is pure speculation. . . besides, when I see the Red Cross and other Charities hand out supplies that will put (even if momentary) smiles on those homeless, starving children. . I'll be glad I donated that "meager" $10.

davidylan:
Truth be told . . . those who WILL donate to Haiti are doing so, they do not require announcing it on a forum to do their civic duty.
True, true. .  meanwhile, Let the rest of us Hypocrites get as many people to donate as possible. . and tell them HOW to donate. That's not a problem now, is it?

davidylan:
I'm begining to think you all cannot read. Pls go back to my posts . . . where did i tell you not to give?
davidylan:
That aside . . . no one came here to "condemn aid donations" . . .
WRONG!! Like I pointed out (and you haven't countered), your earlier posts more than suggest that donations are an . . .

@DAVID
davidylan:
No way have i said that relief supplies to starving Haitians is not in order . . .
Err, not completely true. Maybe not in the exact words, but you have as ur past quotes below will show. . .

davidylan link=]Absolute waste of time. I'm more perturbed by claims that Port Au Prince has no functioning hospital at present, no earth-moving vehicles for rescue operations, no roads, no emergency rescue services.
davidylan link=:
You can keep donating if you wish . . . i will save my money for those who truly deserve it.
davidylan link=:
Will relief supplies rebuild the Haitian economy? Will it provide essential services like hospitals, good roads, rescue services and jobs?
In other words, instead of relief supplies, we should send Julius Berger to start building good roads and hospitals NOW!!

davidylan link=:
Donating "relief supplies" will not help Haiti stand on her two feet. It simply perpetuates the long-held opinion that blacks are in every sense inferior to other races.
davidylan link=:
I am grateful for my position in life . . . but i am more worried about how this reinforces the negative stereotype that blacks have an inherently inferior nature to other races.
Apparently, this is the crux of your grouse. The black nation’s IMAGE.
It would seem you are suggesting that the millions of BLACK Haitians who are homeless and starving and need help to rescue their loved ones should refuse ALL WHITE AID, so that they are not seen as INFERIOR! That makes a lot of sense. . . someone do a mail to them pronto!

davidylan link=:
I havent done much for Nigeria because i am not yet in a position to contribute more than a useless N100 note to a situation that requires billions to solve.
davidylan link=:
The US government alone is donating $100m to relief efforts . . . what will your meager $10 do?
It might interest you to know that in JUST 24 hrs, over $2,000,000 has been raised by the Red cross from people’s donations. . . Yeah, that’s what EVERYBODY’s “meager” $10 can do!

[quote author=davidylan:

90% of those clamouring here could not even point to Haiti on the world map less than 10 days ago. Suddenly they now love the dying in Haiti? Where were they when thousands were starving to death?
Fine. .Everyday, the world talks about aid to poor nations, reducing poverty and hunger, clean water, AIDS, peacekeeping efforts, etc. . BUT, when a disaster of this magnitude happens, the world’s attention shifts to them. . . It’s one word. . PRIORITY!! That shouldn’t be so hard to get!!

davidylan:
Mark my words . . . in less than 90 days, the hoopla over Haiti will die down, the starving will get packs of food and water and then be left alone to continue eating their mud cakes. Nothing will change in Haiti,
Very well DAVID. Your words have been marked. The countdown (90 DAYS) to "PROJECT ABANDON HAITI" begins now!! Before then. . .

DAVID AND CO. ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why Should we waste precious time donating to Haitians in "need"?
President Obama has pledged about $100,000,000. Rubbish!! That money is better off used SETTING UP A COMMITTEE on HOW THE DISASTER COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. I suggest we also invite a few STARVING, THIRSTY, HOMELESS Haitian kids to the panel to make valuable contributions. For one, that will keep their minds off the dozens of family, relatives and friends that are either missing or dead.

The Red cross, Salvation Army, Wyclef's YELE, MTV's telethon and all other such fund raisers are all wasting their time!!!!
Instead of a telethon, for instance, there should be numerous TV shows where viewers can discuss the crimes of the Haitian government, why the buildings were not all built with reinforced concretes, why predominantly black countries seem to all be failed states, why we had to wait for a disaster to donate to Haiti etc. LARGE SCREEN TVs should be installed in strategic places in the destroyed city of Port-au-Prince where these shows can be viewed by the homeless children, so they can learn from their mistakes!!!

@DAVID. . . Good Job, My Brother. I suggest you write a comprehensive essay on all your VALID and PERFECTLY TIMED points and send a copy to the UN, US, EU, Haiti. . . You never know, you could get a NOBEL PRIZE for it! Well done bro!!
