He's a defender for crying out loud. His job is to defend, keep clean sheets.

Ederson has assists, Neuer doesn't, does that make Ederson better than Neuer since he contributes goals to his team?


Evaluate a defender by his primary duty, defending. How good does he defend. And not how good he passes the ball or contribute in attack.

I've never seen anywhere where a forward is rated by his ability to help out his team defensively. It's always the other way around.

Easy with the obsession, abeg. Attacking returns should be a bonus, not a yardstick.
